The “Rev” button is reverse, hold it to the right, click the shifter down twice and it should go into reverse and you don’t have to use throttle let the clutch out slow and it’ll back up under its own power, to go back in the first, put the button back turn knob “Rev” back to the left and click up once and you will hear it click into gear.

Thanks for getting a raptor! I have a raptor 350 and I love it. The raptor 350 is unique because it's basically a warrior with tons of raptor 660 parts added to it.
@@kdcustoms1272 I may have exaggerated just because I didn't want to sit here and point out all the differences but it's definitely not "not true at all". The parking brake, rear axle, stem, shocks, grab bar, wiring, foot pegs and a whole lot of other things I can't think of right now are interchangable. The plastics are not interchangable however the raptor 350 and 660 resemble each other more than any other two generations or types of raptors ever made because they are from the same era. Just like any other Yamahas made during this same time, many parts are shared. Common practice. They basically took a warrior frame and motor and added updated parts from the 660 to help lower weight. They also matched the wheel size to the 660 because the warrior had larger rear wheels.
I'm 12 years old almost 13 and my dad has a Raptor 660. For my birthday at ten years old he bought a blaster for me but took it all apart to paint the frame. That took 2 years and so I've been taking turns riding his quad in Glamis also known as the Imperial Sand Dunes. I've learned a lot on his quad and when my blaster was ready it was hard getting used too. The second trip to Glamis (1 hour away fromYuma, Arizona and in California) the piston blew and it has been sitting in our garage for about a month. About a week ago my dad bought me a Hondatrx 450 and I love that thing.
I picked up an 03 last year for same exact price. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Lots of fun rides past two summers. Can pop a wheelie in 5th gear 60mph if you know what you are doing. I ride wheelies all day and my buddy on Honda 450r gets jealous.
Get a fmf exhaust, trash the stock filter for a k&n or a uni, rejet the carbs and you will be AMAZED at the power difference! Also for the reverse knob they break on all of them. They make a metal repair bracket for like $20 on ebay that makes it super solid. Also get a drw case saver well worth the money!
Get the aluminum plate for the reverse knob its like 8 bucks and it'll never break again. Good luck with this thing, it likes mods and done correctly itll make some serious power!
So what's the big deal Diego, I ride Yamahas and I have Suzuki Kawasaki and Honda shirts hats and other clothes that I wear while I ride my Yamahas. Who cares it's not a big deal, it's clothes on your back. And yes I have Yamaha apparel too. I wear what I want. When I ride, I don't care what others think.
The 525 is so sick, i had one when they first came out in 2006 and they are extremely fast but, I hate ktm so it had to go!! It was the outlaw edition with orange skull graffix

Yoshimura RS3 full pipe with header. High flow air filter and rejet carb. Easily adds HP and a noticeable change!! I own a 2002 660 myself. Peep one of my last vids for a top speed test! (Stock gearing 13/40 limits it to around 73MPH but I was going down a slight hill) If you want EVEN MORE low end drop a tooth on the front sprocket. First things first though delete the parking break and get rid of the parking break and reverse rev limiters, they tend to fail and cause carb like symptoms. KEEP THIS ONE MAN!! The 660s are beasts and they don't lose value!! Hit me up if you have any 660 questions. I love all the vids and I've been waiting to see you on a 660 since I found your channel bro!! from owner to owner, pull the screen out of the bottom of the oil tank and make sure its not full of metal. mine was packed full of metal bits and probably restricting oil flow
Fix the ramps yourself and make them stronger than new. The 2 sections of each are fine, just needs to be strengthened at the hinge/connections. I'd fix 'em and put my logo on 'em if I were you.

Rev nob is for reverse. Put quad in neutral and turn knob then shift down with clutch in. The light on the right side of dash will indicate it is locked in reverse.
Check the timing chain the 660 Raptor will generally pull the front wheels with ease in the first 3 gears with stock gearing if not most likely the timing chain is stretched
A friends step dad had one built for drag racing.. 14:1 piston, stage 3 cam, ported head, bigger carbs. Sparks exhaust.. Thing was a beast. My friend scared the absolute shit out of me.. 5th gear wheelies 100mph easy!!
I’m really looking forward to the race between the Tecate and the raptor . You should do a roll on race . You can put a high compression piston in that raptor if you wanted . They run about 10:1 compression. Some people put the 12:1 piston in there but then you have to re jet it and probably cam it. But if it runs good then just enjoy it . Your a good man !!!
One more tip. You know the trick to locate a noisy, probably stuck hydraulic lifter or out of adjustment valve by putting a screwdriver's handle in your ear and touching the other end to the valve covers? There's another trick to help isolate and locate the source of other drivetrain noises. Stick a rubber hose to your er and use the other end to search for the source of the noise.
I got a 07 350 raptor 6 speed i got for $950 & it is brand new 1 owner, its a power house of a ride its got aftermarket parts on it that i ad on it same color blue, nice ride & buy man 660 raptors are mean & fun there a blast they will put a smile on your face when you get on it there fast
Warm the quad up for about 5 minutes and let sit for 3-5 the wipe dip stick clean and without screwing it back in that should give you a accurate level.
I have an 01 raptor 660. I can tell you you are going to want to put a longer rear axle, widened a-arms, and yfz450 front shocks. Makes a world of difference.
Ong. People talk about bore kits and stuff like that, but the thing the raptor 660 needs the most is a widening kit, at least if you bought it to actually ride it, not just popping wheelies lol.
I have an 04 660r. Sweet quad. I keep up with my brothers kx450. He pulls away but not very fast. I have CT racing exhaust system with k&n air filter and jets. It’s pretty fast. IM running 16/41 sprockets. The fastest I got it was 82. Because I ran out of power. Haven’t tested it since I put the exhaust and jet kit in it. Should be around 94-96 in theory. Next investment is going to be a big bore kit.

you should get a 450 motocross bike yz450f crf450r kx450f, I have a 2003 yz and you can't keep the front wheel down in any gear, all of them have 55+ hp, imagine the built banshee you had but in a bike, they're insane.

They're pretty solid quads, really good for trail riding.

i have an 05 raptor myself and i run a hmf performance series blackout pipe. stands up in 4th gear cause of it. very good deep sound just a suggestion

I had the 2002 model 660 and I put a big bore kit in it and mine topped out at 89 mph!! They are crazy fast and fun as hell!!! Nice quad Joe!!

I bought mine for $2k. Needed throttle cable, choke cable and plunger, chain tensioner bolts, oil change, rear master cylinder. It absolutely rips

That knob on the right front fender is for going into reverse and drive. At least that is how it is on my dad 2003 raptor 660r limited edition

Curtis sparks is the best exhaust unless you get duals.
I think rossier only makes pipes for 700's not 660's.. But I could be wrong
