thank you for making this video! i’m currently in year 11 and i’m thinking of picking psychology for a level and your video was the only one that actually explained what you do in the subject!
Haha saw your comment after 9 months which means that u are most probably in year 12 by now🙃 Did u choose psychology? How is it?! As I’m currently in year 11 and I’m trying to figure out what would be the best for me Thank u
@@Diana-hn1li i did choose psychology! i’ve only been in year 12 for a month but so far i think psychology is pretty interesting. i’m doing ocr (i’m not sure how much different it is for other exam boards) but we have different areas of psychology and in each one there are some studies that you learn about
Hey I watched the whole video it’s very interesting especially because I’ve always loved psychology since I was young but I’m currently in highschool and I’m still deciding and I don’t know what to do I really want to do psychology but I also want to do politics . Would you have any advice on what I can study if I like them subjects
can you do both? tbh psychology a lot involve case studies and evaluations , if I was you ( take it as a pinch of salt and follow what you want ofc) i would do politics and just read about psychology topics I enjoy but yea that's just me I cant decide for you :)
Thank you for this, I'm in year 11 this year and looking through all the options. So far, I'm considering English Language, English Literature, Religious Studies and Psychology. Do you think these would be a good set of options?
@@presence3589 There's a creative writing, philosophy and ethics uni course that I'd like to do at the moment, but I'm still unsure what I want to do at that stage so ideally I'd keep my options relatively open xD
@@lettielouise6512 ( just making you aware I'm speaking as an economics student so not top sure about the creative industry side ) I think if you want to keep your options open you may want to add a science or maths ? Depending what you mean by keeping options open 😁

Hi! Btw, I wanted to ask, what are the pros and cons of taking Math, Economics, & Psychology in A levels even though I didn't take Psychology & economics in O level.
thank you so much Lyssa ! I'm looking into the med stuff which is a bit hard but I'm not giving up yet , in the meantime i found this web, it seems like it might be something that will help you learn and see more about what it's like to be a doctor and stuff : medtube.net/ , hope that helps xXD
i currently have biology/chem and maths as my as level subjects but i am thinking of dropping maths and taking psychology would u recommend it i am struggling alot in maths
I am incredibly torn about doing psychology at A level. I never studied it at gcse and ive heard at A level there's loads of essay writing topics and a lot of revision which puts me off. I am more of a simple answer question person like in biology than long essays like history. With all the case studies, is it boring? Do you have to learn what key people do and what they introduced like in history gcse? I'm thinking of either doing: 1) psychology, biology, and health and social, OR 2) double heath and social (diploma) and biology. Also,, does it open a lot of pathways for my future? I know psychology is very specific. A lot of people said that it is incredibly boring and you lose focus whilst doing it. Is it worth it in the end? If you can help me out i'd appreciate it, thankyou so much and great video!
yes its mainly just memorising info and case studies and writing it as an essay, whether its boring or not it depends on what you enjoy , the content is interesting but there's a lot of case studies that can get boring , in terms of future - your degree is more important and even then you can still do a lot of different careers so i wouldn't worry about that, check university websites about the course you want to do ( if you plan to go to uni ) and see what subjects for A levels they recommend :) hope this helps!! - any other videos i should make let me know!
This is probably the most useful psychology video out there. I was in your exact position when you said that you knew you wanted to take psychology but didn't exactly know what is included! But know I know which is great. I am still a bit hesitant to take psychology because : 1.It doesn't link in two my two other subjects which are maths and computing 2.I've heard it is essay-based, and I'm not the best at English. I do enjoy creative writing and analysis but it's something that I do have to work harder at so I'm worried that my inability with that would hinder my development in Psychology a level. Would you say that you need to be good at English to get good grades in psychology? How much of the essay writing is based on your own opinion? Thank you!
To be honest psychology is like 100% memory based, even essays you just need to remember content and write in a specific way and you'll be fine , I did economics and maths so it doesnt relate much too dont need to worry about it 😊😊
i wanna do psychology, english literature and applied human biology in september. do u think that’s good for someone who wants to be a paediatric nurse? 🤍🌷

best ask people who are already a nurse - I am not one so my answer may not be the best but from the choices are 3 look applicable to being a nurse
