I have a tip for you, and any other beginners. Helmets and learning how to fall right can help confidence in skating. Before I started wearing a helmet, I was scared to do most things. 3 months later and I am skating 3 stairs and small gaps.
28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:28 John 3:36 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
It is normal for skaters to put their left foot forwards and push with their right foot. It's called the "regular" stance and it's the most common. Skating with the right foot in front and left behind is called "goofy" stance, not because people who do it are goofy, but because it's a reference to the Mickey Mouse character Goofy who surfed like that in the old cartoons. I'm a right handed person and I actually skate goofy myself because I feel like I can do the tricks better with my right foot, but it's all about whatever feels best.
Exactly what I thought but apparently only 56% of people are regular-footed even though 90% of people are right-handed. Interesting but who knows how accurate data on that will ever be. As for possible reasons why, I think it's because you have more pushing power with your right foot. Your left foot just needs to stand there.
ive been skateboarding for about a year now, and i havent progressed much because of your same fear of falling and embarrassing myself. Girl skaters have so much more pressure cuz its considered being a poser if you bad when your really just beginning. But uve inspired me to not gaf and to continue to skate again and hopefulley i can land my first kickflip!! GL on ur journey too!!
Trust me people don't think you're a poser if you just started out. Everyone started somewhere. If anything other skaters only want to help you learn if you ask them. I'm not a beginner by a long shot, but I actually rather skate with people who are just learning more. But I still like to skate by myself. Just stick with it and learn how to ride the board and get comfy with that. Then work your way up slowly. It most likely will take at least 5 years to be really good. By then it is a lot easier. You have to build up certain muscles in your feet, toes, legs etc for a few years. I mean skating is scary and skaters know how hard it is, so don't feel shy around other skaters. I can understand how most normal people think everyone skates like tony hawk but in reality that just isn't true. The only way you're a poser is if you say you skate and don't skate like at all, like at any level. Like if I said I skate but I actually had never done it before. Or you wear only skate cloths and never skated before or cared about it, but skaters themselves don't care about this. The more money and popularity a company has is better for skaters. Because they can release more products etc, like look at vans. I don't care that they're mainstream, I don't care if non skaters wear them at all. More money for vans, more new shoes come out that help me skate better. Just my 2 cents. Just give it some time and take it slowly with skating, don't rush into tricks until you know you're ready. Realistically kickflips will take a year or 2 to land. Learn how to ollie first, manuals, do those for a few months and move up to more. etc. Most skaters didn't learn kickflips in a week. In the 80s skating died because it had a boom and then kids quit because they realized how hard it was.
HOW TO FIX ROCKET OLLIES: 1. Move your front foot closer to the front bolts (not exactly on them). I know you heard it some where that placing your front foot at the center of the board makes your ollies higher. That tip only applies if you already know how to ollie. 2. Actually lift off your back leg. Before attempting to ollie try jumping without the board and try to lift your thighs as close as you can get to your chest (or actually hit your chest). It's for you to feel/visualize how you should really be jumping while doing ollie. 3. Shift your weight. It seems like all your weight is on your back leg. That's why you keep falling backwards. Straight body, bend down, then jump as high as you can. ACTUALLY JUMP LIKE REALLY TRY TO LIFT OF YOUR THIGHS CLOSE TO YOUR CHEST. anyways that's all I can give lol it took me months to learn to do an ollie, most people take weeks. As long as you don't give up you'll learn it. Thanks for making hilarious skate videos I haven't skated in years if I put up a skate video on my channel it's because I got inspired from you ahaha. Gracias!

For ollie advice, it looks pretty good so far. There are just a few small things to adjust and you'll have it in no time. First, move your front foot forward so it sits just behind the front truck screws with the toe of your shoe in line with the side of the board. That'll make sure you can level out the board quickly in the air before you land to fix the straight up rocket. For a moving ollie, you're not only jumping up, but also forwards just a bit so you'll carry your momentum into your board. Otherwise, the board will just shoot out in front of you before you can land on it. What helped me is to think about my front foot kicking the nose of the skateboard. It should catch right on the little dip before the nose bends upward. That's what gives skateboarders the ability to control their ollies in the air. It's all in control of that front foot. The back foot should just bend at the knee and lift up to where the board should level out to. The last tip is just practice a little bit every day. There are right techniques to the ollie, but even if you know it in your head, your body has to try it many times before you get the hang of it. When I learned it took about two weeks of daily practice to land a good moving ollie, and another month before I could ollie over stuff without falling down. It's better to practice for a little bit every day as it'll be much harder to learn if you try while tired and sore.
@@HeglaUA-cam Also, foot lower on the board does not mean higher ollie. Generally controlled low ollies are better than high sketchy uncontrolled ones.
As someone who skated as a kid, and every other summer or so decide to pick it up again, I'll say that Teacp127's comment is on point. Focus on predicting your jump a bit forward, depending on how fast you're going (I kinda sabotaged myself as a kid by practicing too much standing still and/or on grass). Also, I find having your backfoot really centered (or wherever isn't making your bord flip in any way) and towards the back of the kick gets increasingly important for control. No sideway motions wanted for this particular trick. All of the power goes through your back foot so having it even a little off the sweetspot can mess up the cleanliness of the ollie, as they get higher. Good luck to you and everyone else practicing this! Have fun!

Amazing video!! It seriously took me by surprise; everything you tried out really made you shine as a beginner, in my opinion. Your point of view helps to see a side of skateboarding that is less calculated and more about trials and having fun; no stressing pressure. People watching one during their first pushes is awkward and scary; but honestly, you are able to bring hope to those people that can't bring themselves to get better on skateboarding. I'm not kidding; you are doing SO well; you have better balance than I do because I'm a touch chubby. Your body is just fit for skateboarding, and the things you tried in the seven days -and the total of how the seven days ended - are worth hanging the mouth for (to me, at least). You're doing great!! And I am personally enjoying the path you're going through! 💪💪✨

9:53 - That's all that skateboarding is, really. It's a mental game; neither the board nor the ground is your enemy---it's just yourself. It's not enough to believe that it can be done, you have to also believe that it can be done by you. That's all it is---visualization and believing in oneself. And that's so beautifully positive You're a skater, you're a zen master.
I know the struggle of thinking everyone is judging you, and this makes learning new things alone so hard. You either have to learn it with a friend or do it overnight. I mostly learned to rollerblade at night, now I'm rollerblading every Friday night with 30-40 people. Because since I moved to a busier city, I can't find a safe place at night to practice. I don't know if it's because I'm an introvert or anxiety, probably both :) Either way, great video ! Always worth the wait.
Love this video! Nice to hear and see a true beginner learning experience! Glad to see that I am not alone when it comes to skill progression and feeling stressed/awkward with people watching/walking by!

Learn the wrap around. I learnt this in 15min very easy. Best bit of advice I can give is find someone to skate with, this honestly will help progression and you won't care about anyone walking by or even just watching. At 45 I've not skated for 25yrs at all. I was the same, didn't want to try tricks incase someone was watching and a fear of falling incase I was laughed at. I went to the local skatepark and within 5 minutes I had 3 teens offering to help or give advice. Made me feel so much more relaxed and no one's laughing at me for bailing. All this started again because my 11yr old son asked me to teach him how to ride a board so I'm relearning to skate 👊

Hello ! Im new here but im so glad i found you 💖 I just started skateboarding 3 days ago and im so thankful to stumble across this vid !! Thank you so much for sharing your process 💕 u are amazin amazing i love your energy and mind set. You have inspired me to be brave and careless tomorrow i’ll try to do ollie on the pavement !!!
If you guys wanna see my skating progress then I GOT YOU!! Heres a whole damn playlist for you ;) bit.ly/3e6Nezz (also thanks for 69k subs I j'adore yous)
Thanky you YT algorithm for suggesting this video. Really enjoyable and calming video + Hegla is super relatable. Btw even though you think you didnt get as many tricks as you wanted, you still pushed through some scary moments for beginners on a skateboard and that matters a lot more then just getting the trick. 🔝
Can’t wait to see this I love seeing progression videos only because I tried skating got it down was able to do an Ollie then gave up after that and lost motivation
I have been skating for a month now, and I liked knowing that I am not the only person who freaks out when people are around 😅 it gets so akward in my head. I sometimes do skate in crowded places but I only cruise when this happens, when I want to learn tricks I just wake up really early before anyone does. good luck with your skating journey!
This is great I see a lot of beginner learning Ollie’s then going the other Harding tricks like kick flips heel flips etc it’s gonna help u a lot as a skater focusing on the basics
Most people have a slightly different way of learning to ollie, however I think that most would agree that the outside of your front foot should at least be at the half way mark (literally mark your griptape if it helps), anywhere up to just behind the front trucks. Then with the sweeping motion, I would practice without a board first, and basically it's like if you were doing a big sideways skip over a imaginary rope, with a little flying kick at the end as if you were trying to kick a leprechaun in the head (preferable to a child, as leprechauns are already imaginary), and then see how you go from there.
Hey hegla! Great video!! I honestly feel the same the way I started to skateboard, but here is a special magic tip!! Any time you try to push, hop or go down any hills on you're skateboard, make sure to bend those knees!! Standing straight will make things harder :(, plus It gives you perfect balance overall and it'll sure make learning tricks a whole lot simpler!! You got this hegla!!
I started thinking about learning to skate and UA-cam recommend your old videos, i am glad you are still making videos after a long pause. Hopefully we don't have to wait another 6 months for another upload.
For your stand still ollie - I think the reason your board is going more rocket is because your front foot is a little low on the board. I would suggest moving the front foot higher up on the board a bit. Skateboarding is so tough but so rewarding - you're not bad after only 7 days!
Hey lad, that's a great video. I started skating about 2 months ago now and hell, I pretty much had the exact same experience over the first week as you had. Including the fear of concrete in the start and especially the stopping a trick, midst bypasser. Hope this gives you enough of a confidence boost as your Video just did to me. Appreciate it and keep skating
I dabled in a little bit of skateboard back in highschool, if you want a "trick" that feels neat to do while not being complicated at all is to drop down ledges while riding. like a sidewalk ledge and then bigger. trick is to keep your knees bent (but nott too much) and to have enough speed. then when you get the ollie down, you can mix the two together and gap stuff. It's just scary at first, especially since I also had the same issue of overthinking and fearing pain. Keep it up though!
Most people are just going to be learning to cruise around their first week. You're brave girl, I'm out there with knee, elbow and wrist pads + helmet and still scared haha.
You’re doing great! The best way to improve=never stop trying. Don’t bother with what others might think. Just focus on yourself and the board. People get successful not by being perfect from the get go but by tenacity and grit, by not seeing failure as something fixed and final but as an opportunity to grow - and your improvements show that. Be fierce!
I’ve never ridden a skateboard, mine is coming in the 3rd of January, but I have been watching lots of beginner videos and the foot you put forward is completely to your preference so yes, you are normal
Quick reccemondation: Loosen your trucks to your liking so you don't have to tiktak or kick turn to move left or right, carve turning is very comfy since it only requires your ankles for steering. I keep my front truck lose and my back truck tight but not too tight. I do this so I can make suddle adjustments. The tight back trucks allow me to steer only using my back foot to make small turns without wheel bite. The looser front trucks allow me to make sharper turns with my front foot, the micro adjustments come in when I use my tight back trucks to smoothen out the sharp turns of the looser front trucks. This way I don't get flungged off my board making sharp turns or get wheel bite which will cause a sudden stop. The last thing you'd want is to suddenly stop after going 15-20mph. Not pleasant, about 2 years ago that happened and I was knock out for about 30 seconds, I didn't even hit my head and I got knock unconscious. Be careful of wheel bite. Alright so you got some ollies, in the video, they were rocketed but regardless of that you got some ollies because some attempts had the back wheels in the air for a bit. Great job, now to perfect them. 1. To fix your ollies I reccomend learning them on concrete, so you are doing a good job. Next, you need to work on your foot placement. It's a mix a comfort and compromise. So for comfort, DO NOT put your front foot behind the middle of the board, also make sure you front foot is just below the front 4 screws. As for compromise, you might have to turn you front foot at a slight angle or making sure you really slide on the side of your shoe. It depends on what angle feels comfortable or gives the best results. Remember you'd feel more comfortable with your front foot at the middle of the board or slight below the front bolts. I personally prefer slight behind the bolts, I get nice high ollies and I get board control. The further back the foot is, the more you'd end up shooting the board away from your back foot. So don't put your front foot to far back. 2. Your back foot matters, especially your ankle work. If you pop the board with your whole foot, stop doing that. Instead pop with your ankle. It sounds weird but listen because this is VERY crucial to getting the board to level. If you stomp your back foot down, the board will not come up. To give you an idea on how to use your ankle I'll give you a short exercise that will take a few seconds to grasp. (make sure you are not on the board) lift your back foot and practice rolling your ankles up and down, If you've driven a car, you were probably told to use your ankles to use the pedals and not the whole foot. That's pretty muh skateboarding when it comes to ollie style tricks. Do not stomp, instead when you are jumping up, roll your ankle down ward. Basically this will pop the board at the same time your back foot would already be in the air. This way the board will pop and the tail of your board will come back up to your back foot. Laymen's term: If you stomp you back foot, the tail of the board will not have enough force to bounce up to your back foot since you stomped it and killed any force for it to come back up. Think of it as bouncing a basketball, If you don't give it enough space for it to bounce back up then it will not bounce. You'd just be placing the ball down on the grown with one hand. If you want the ball to bounce back to your hand after it hits the ground, you'd give the ball enough space from your hand when you bounce the ball so nothing blocks its upward momentum. Use your ankle. Think of your ankle as your wrist flopping downward hard which then gives the basketball that was in your hand enough force to hit the ground and bounce back up. This will help with the ankle bit, skip to 1:10 or watch the whole video if you want: ua-cam.com/video/VasSLuFO4wY/v-deo.html
Ollie tips, 3 main things to practice.. 1- Practice squatting on your board for the balance (don't go to down thoo), 2- Practice standing on the board pushing down (lifting) the the tail while staying on the board and then put the tail back down, practice this till you get confortable lifting the tail, putting it back down while staying on the board (this will help you improve and practice your pop) and last one, 3- Practice the slide (lift the tail and slide your front foot till the end) makes your Ollie higher and levelled if the slide motion is done properly.. Practice all one at the Tim, combine all three and you basically have the Ollie motion!🥂🍾
5:18 yes it's normalormal. I personally am right handed and used to ride comfortably goofy, when I got back into skateboarding many years later, 3 years ago when I turned 18, I realized I did stationary ollies so well with my left foot forward as a when I was a kid but I couldn't push the board with my left foot forward let alone do and ollie with my dominantleg which is my right foot (goofy). So when I got back into skating, I forced myself to ride in the position that felt comfortable learning tricks on. Now I use my off leg (left foot) to do flicking and sliding since it feels more loose and less heavy than my dominant leg. I started skating as a goofy rider and made the permanent transition to regular, because of that some habits linger such as popping the board to my right hand with my right foot instead of my left side.
Hi Hegla if you're still struggling with Ollies as a person who has just started improving my Ollies hopefully I can help first tip the back leg on the tail should be on a angle matching the tail curve if your standing correctly your back knee should be pointing towards your other knee this will help keep you more center on the board so you don't fall back when trying to Ollie and preventing your tail from coming up at the pop. 2nd tip have your front leg just behind the front bolts that will help with levelling the board out also make sure your bending your knees a bit this will help keep your body even over the board so when you jump and the pop the board for an olley it feels more like an even jump and you'll be able to shoot your back leg up higher and easier giving you a nice snappy Pop same time slid your front leg forward your ollie should level out and you might get a bit higher. Worked for me if your unsure about back leg on the tail being stood on a Angle heres a Ollie skate support from Braille have a good look at how there back leg is on the tail ua-cam.com/video/l9zJG0awOjc/v-deo.html PS these tips should help with your moving Ollies aswell
If y want advice with ur ollie's 1.Put ur front foot closer to the bolls 2.Really put ur weight in ur front foot before popping 3.Bend down a bit more Nice progress bro😄
One tip is stay really low to the ground by bending your knees. To get an ollie: put your tail on an old automobile tire laying sideways in the grass. Press the tale pretty high up with your back foot. Place front food almost up to the screws on the front truck. Just jump up and out a slight bit like you’re on a small trampoline land evenly onto the grass and the concept of ollying will become learned. You can then try the same concept on a curb. Then eventually ollying without the need for a back curb will be achieved. Don’t worry about the foot slide until you’re confident using your tail on the back curb, pressing it oh so slightly and jumping slightly forward. Sliding the foot will come naturally later but getting a pretty good jump out of the board as a beginner doesn’t actually require this front slide most olly teachers try to impress upon you. As long as your front foot just shy of the front four screw a olly will happen with far less overomplication. Best of luck
Thanks for speaking of the discomfort of people seeing you struggling, that’s exacting the feeling I have and stop me to just enjoy and ride as I want into my city. Seems like I’m not alone 😅 12:58
One thing you can try if you're still trying is to put your front foot closer to the front bolts to allow your legs to spread so you can actually squat for a good jump. Ollie based skateboard tricks are just that, jumping. Not right up on the bolts, but you don't need your foot all the way down the board. Its part of what's causing it to rocket in your case. Just keep working at it and having fun with it and it will click eventually. Also, I know sometimes falling can be embarrassing. I've been skating since 1995 and I've had A LOT of embarrassing falls myself. However I'll tell you this, most of the time you're so focused on what you're trying to do that you don't really care about anything outside of it. Falling is such a part of the core of skateboarding that I'd even recommend you practice falling and rolling out into grass or something. Just roll from concrete to grass and allow yourself to fall. Don't ever try to catch yourself with stiff arms and try to avoid catching yourself with your arms at all if possible. If you do catch yourself with your arms, DO NOT try to stop your momentum with them. Point is, if you get mentally used to falling, it will become a little less embarrassing MOST of the time. :))
Someones probably already said this but just incase you want to actually pop the board/ tail with your back foot. The height of an ollie doesnt really come from lifting the from up and levelling it out or pushing your front foot it comes from your back foot actually popping off the ground. Thats why someone with a good ollie pops you can hear there deck/ tail slapping the ground. Think about when your picking your board up by kicking the tail its exactly the same. What you have to do is slap the tail down without your weight being on the board and then catch the front with your front foot. Hope this helps. Not sure why I can't see others saying this because its the most important thing. Your popping your board not just lifting the front up. Dont think about it as standing on the tail just slap it onto the ground. Its also why its harder to ollie on grass.
Advice for the ollie. Position your front foot just behind the bolts of your leading foot and also lift your back foot when you ollie I had the same issue where my ollies just went straight up but the fix was just lifting our bending your back leg after flicking the board up. Good luck on your journey!
A tip on the half casper. Sit on a bench and try the trick with your feet. It ill give a better visualization of how the trick will happen and what you need to do with tour feet to land it. Just like many others have said for your ollie. Shift your weight more to your front foot. When you attempt it, think "how high can i jum?" And send it. The rolling version of it takes a while to get use to the fact that your moving. But if it helps, think that your jumping sideways in the direction that the board is moving. Hope that wasn't to much at once. Cant wait to see the next video of Skating woth Hegla.
Great progression. One tip I could give you is to allow your knees to bend as you're landing your ollie. You're landing in an overly upright stance (with your knees locked) which will make you much more unstable and unbalanced than if your knees were allowed to bend slightly. Other than that, great job!
This entire video is such a fucking mood. Only just started skating and this actually helps a lot. I can't get a Jack though, I'm already a Jack. There can be only one.
This video is awesomeee, I laughed so much, with you, not at you, but mainly, it really shows me which tricks I can learn and in which order and that I can actually do them if I commit and keep on practising. So thank you for sharing this, it's motivating!! Keep up the good work!
Someone likely said this already. Your Ollie; Lean forward a bit. You are stamping your front foot. Don't try an ollie, focus on jumping off the board only. Stand on the bolts, jump has high as you can and land back on the board. Springing off your back foot. Now the jump is like a sea saw - Front foot comes up first, back foot as you are jumping snaps the kick and follows so the next move is moving the back foot to the kick. Focus on ONLY getting a good snap. THEN once you have a good snap/jump (It will be super rocket) Next step is sliding the front foot forward (Not up) If you did the seasaw motion the front foot is already up, so just move forward and the board levels and you get a satisfying slap on the back foot as the deck levels out. EDIT: This will become all one motion, I dont want to over complicate it, but the steps above get your mind to visualize the physics. In the end all you need is the sea saw jump with the bruce lee kick with the front foot even the back foot comes forward when you start boning the fuck out of ollies. Enter the Dragon! I can constructive critique it all for you.
Keep going, keep practicing. It is hard you know.... but you learn. Being able to ride it comfortably is the first goal. Being able to ride it anywhere, maybe down curbs aswell. Then practice ollie, until you can ride up and down the curb (sidewalk and curb) when you can do that, you can work on higher ollies, since this will make it easier to do tricks (more hang time "air time") Well done both of you 👍
I was trying to find channels that do some skateboarding and you’re probably the best and you motivated me to skateboard!!! The next video im hoping you can do a drop in!
Some more advice: when you do an Ollie, try to bend your knees more before you pop. Like really exaggerated the squatting motion. This helped me a lot with fixing the rocket Ollie problem. I would think of the motion as 1 (bend your knees) and two (pop and the rest of it). I hope this helps!
Hii! I just watched your video and you’ve made really good progress in 7 days! Just a little tip I would recommend if you wanna skate faster try leaning forward and thrusting your hand in-font of yourself when you take your next step to push of (if that’s makes sense?) 😅
hegla ur so gud at this stuff ! i cant wait to do this myself , im getting skateboard soon , just one request , when ur done learning skateboard , can u please try learning to ice skate , since u already learned roller skating i dont think u need to 'learn' much , pls just a request from a subscriber
thank you so much for posting this, im using it as a confidence boost (after watching its not much of a confidence boost because your ollies were really good)
@@HeglaUA-cam I used to not skate when others were watching. But I got better along the way. Even being able to do kickflips, I still feel like I'm being judged, but it's just a battle between you and your head. Good luck, really enjoyed this video
Youre doing good!! Keep going . When learning ollies remember: pop the board, jump, drag ur foot to actually keep the board in the air. Pop,jump, drag. When you drag properly youll know because it lowkey feels like your angle is gonna twist😭😭😭
Okay so I have started skateboarding recently and we have very few girls who do skateboarding and at first I felt so embarrassing to practice or to fall down infront of many other skater guys some even said it's not easy for girls to learn skateboarding and today I saw your video and made me feel so confident and your efforts and all made me feel that I should do hardwork and practice again and again this video was really helpful thanks alot ❤️
these are way better beginner tricks to learn than the ollie. good job.

Just raise your back knee higher after poping, it is basically your back foot preventing the board to dip down forward when slided by your front foot. You have to air squat more. Great progress!
The dominant foot seems to work best as the back foot because when you pivot and turn you use the back foot for leverage. Like when you kick a ball you use the right foot for power if you’re dominant in that foot. But with skating and board sports anything goes and it’s usually what feels good.
Honestly 5 sec stationary manuals are pretty good for one week. They are surprisingly difficult and to hold it that long in your first week is awesome.
Ollie tip set up a paper cup or something and race towards it and then pop it when you get to the cup. Speed is your friend slow rolling is worse than being still go fast at it. And wear full pads so you don't worry about falling. Slow is why you fall backwards but with some speed you can only fall forward but you won't after a few runs. It can help also to not worry about falling fast is without your board run a bit leap and slide on your knee pads and wrist guards pointing your toes practice a controlled fall a few times and you will feel like no fear even an inner giggle.
This is so good, great job! Fun video! I also just started like 3 months ago haha, got two giant bloody shinners matching on both sides... muay thai fighters got nothing on skater shins lmao
Hello! Such an awesome video. Pretty much every question asked can be answered by just riding more. How to Ollie while riding? Skate more and it will feel natural. Working on foot position? Ride more and it will generally resolve itself. Little tips here and there help, but often times thinking and implementing don’t work. You can theoretically understand how to Ollie right when you’re starting, but it won’t click until it clicks. Especially for beginner tricks, the main answer is just to ride more, get more comfortable, and it will resolve itself :)
I have a tip for you, and any other beginners. Helmets and learning how to fall right can help confidence in skating. Before I started wearing a helmet, I was scared to do most things. 3 months later and I am skating 3 stairs and small gaps.

Same !
you're the best istg thanks !
I didn't know the goofy fact!
I’m goofy footed
How is there more pressure for girl skaters? If beginners in general are considered posers?
2 years later but yeah they hate posers because it sets unreal standerds to acctual beginers
HOW TO FIX ROCKET OLLIES:
Gracias!
LEGEND thank you!!!!

Cosign all of this
For ollie advice, it looks pretty good so far.
THIS IS EXACTLY THE ADVICE I NEED THANKS SO MUCH!!
@@HeglaUA-cam Also, foot lower on the board does not mean higher ollie. Generally controlled low ollies are better than high sketchy uncontrolled ones.
Dude you don’t even skateboard all you do is play video games
@@geekerboy2324 do you think he’s gonna upload his skateboarding on UA-cam?
Have fun!
this progression was actually insane!! you advanced a fuck ton in 7 days. can’t wait until your next skate video

And that's so beautifully positive You're a skater, you're a zen master.
it’s a physical game too because you can bust your ass constantly while trying to do tricks
I don't know if it's because I'm an introvert or anxiety, probably both :)
Either way, great video ! Always worth the wait.
I did the same with roller skating at night! Glad to know I'm not the only one :')

OOO ill try that next
I’m getting a board this week and I’m super excited, thanks for this vid! Would love to see more, possibly you learning flip tricks!

Omg I’m so excited for a new video!!! I tried learning how to skateboard during covid but I got boarded of it. You can def get really good though!
I bet you can too ;) probably better than me
I have been skating for a month now, and I liked knowing that I am not the only person who freaks out when people are around 😅 it gets so akward in my head.
Ahhh me too!! I'm hoping when I can finally do an ollie i'll make another video :D
Your skating tutorial really helped me tysm!
So glad I wcould help even if I don't know what im doing :'')
Amazing video Hegla 😍
Be fierce!
best beginner video! someone actually taking it seriously instead of trying to look cool buying a board. great progress too 🙌

oml thats so sweet I'm so glad
I’ve never ridden a skateboard, mine is coming in the 3rd of January, but I have been watching lots of beginner videos and the foot you put forward is completely to your preference so yes, you are normal
Quick reccemondation:
Loosen your trucks to your liking so you don't have to tiktak or kick turn to move left or right, carve turning is very comfy since it only requires your ankles for steering.
(make sure you are not on the board)
lift your back foot and practice rolling your ankles up and down, If you've driven a car, you were probably told to use your ankles to use the pedals and not the whole foot.
Laymen's term:
If you stomp you back foot, the tail of the board will not have enough force to bounce up to your back foot since you stomped it and killed any force for it to come back up.
This will help with the ankle bit, skip to 1:10 or watch the whole video if you want:

Worked for me if your unsure about back leg on the tail being stood on a Angle heres a Ollie skate support from Braille have a good look at how there back leg is on the tail ua-cam.com/video/l9zJG0awOjc/v-deo.html PS these tips should help with your moving Ollies aswell

when i watch your progression videos i feel like a proud mom for some reason
If y want advice with ur ollie's
1.Put ur front foot closer to the bolls
2.Really put ur weight in ur front foot before popping
3.Bend down a bit more
Nice progress bro😄
THANKS SO MUCH!!

@@HeglaUA-cam heading out this morning to conquer my ollies…. Or break my neck! 😂
Nicely done! Good to see you keeping at it so diligently.
Its also why its harder to ollie on grass.
are u kidding me? it took me a hole year to do a proper ollie. u r doin'g great!!! keep goin!!!
this is awesome!!!
THANKS BRO
I overthink with little tricks too and still cant mannual but this video motivates me to just go for it!!
YES SAME BESTIE!! glad it could motivate you
I'm the beginner, dude, you learn so fast~ I feel encourage, thank you very much
Advice for the ollie.
I love your outfits sooo much!
This video is awesomeee, I laughed so much, with you, not at you, but mainly, it really shows me which tricks I can learn and in which order and that I can actually do them if I commit and keep on practising. So thank you for sharing this, it's motivating!! Keep up the good work!
I love your videos, they make me feel more courageous. You're awesome
I got my skateboard about a year ago and I think this is such good progress! You’re not afraid to try new things and it’s really cool to see :))
Someone likely said this already.
Your Ollie;
Lean forward a bit.
Godddd look at the landscape😍🕸
I got a very pretty hometown :D
You have inspired me to start skating again! ty for the motivation and funny videos
Your channel is amazing. I learn from you every day. I hope you teach us and give us tips for the sket board
Keep going, keep practicing. It is hard you know.... but you learn. Being able to ride it comfortably is the first goal. Being able to ride it anywhere, maybe down curbs aswell. Then practice ollie, until you can ride up and down the curb (sidewalk and curb) when you can do that, you can work on higher ollies, since this will make it easier to do tricks (more hang time "air time")
Well done both of you 👍
Compared to me(been skating for almost 2 years) your braver than me (i cant do good ollies) so your progress is amazing!
Dayum girl u brave, I just started and fel, and that hurts, I was this close to give up until watching this vid, thanks
Im also a skater and when im skating I used to Just stop skating en stand still whenever someone walked by😅 but it got less and less
I love the fancy opera music in the backround
Hii! I just watched your video and you’ve made really good progress in 7 days! Just a little tip I would recommend if you wanna skate faster try leaning forward and thrusting your hand in-font of yourself when you take your next step to push of (if that’s makes sense?) 😅
Been waiting for you to upload ^-^
Finallyy😭😭😭😭I had been waiting for days to watch ur videos
hegla ur so gud at this stuff ! i cant wait to do this myself , im getting skateboard soon , just one request , when ur done learning skateboard , can u please try learning to ice skate , since u already learned roller skating i dont think u need to 'learn' much , pls just a request from a subscriber
thank you so much for posting this, im using it as a confidence boost (after watching its not much of a confidence boost because your ollies were really good)
Yesss!!! Go do it dude I hope this can help :D
@@HeglaUA-cam I used to not skate when others were watching. But I got better along the way. Even being able to do kickflips, I still feel like I'm being judged, but it's just a battle between you and your head. Good luck, really enjoyed this video
But hey, you're doing pretty good for a beginner! Nailing it🤝🔥
THANKS!!!

But with skating and board sports anything goes and it’s usually what feels good.
ive been start skating just this year and babe i can really relate to your situation
This is awesome. Ur progression even faster than me. But tysm this is actually really helpful
It can help also to not worry about falling fast is without your board run a bit leap and slide on your knee pads and wrist guards pointing your toes practice a controlled fall a few times and you will feel like no fear even an inner giggle.
finally new video . love it !
This is so good, great job! Fun video!
I also just started like 3 months ago haha, got two giant bloody shinners matching on both sides... muay thai fighters got nothing on skater shins lmao
I really relate with the outro and I just wanted to let you know that your not the only one who deals with social anxiety
Omg im so glad youre back
Im so happy you’re skating!
seriosuly needa learn to be better at skateboardin. i find you will for sure help me ❤️🔥
FINGERS CROSSD I CAN
I liked watching you get good, it’s inspiring
Also, you don’t push down on your front foot while ollieing, you roll your front foot up the deck
