Dude! Major props for all the responses to the comments! That is dedication. I just learned a ton reading through them all. One more question if you don't mind: what was the machine the pan was sitting on in the beginning, and what does it do? Thanks!
Hahaha, no worries. I'll help where I can. I think you are talking about my turn table. I use it to spin the bed around easily instead of sliding it around on a table.
@@SargsHappyLittleDiscs was kinda hoping to find one 😅 I'm also looking for a list of all the materials you use and where to buy them, but it's very difficult as a total noob. I see something about pro Chem, but it seems to so many different ones
Pro chemical and dye is mainly what I use for dye along with idye poly and worm dip. Pro chemical and dye I get straight from the source and idye poly I get from joann's or just any online retailer that sells it. The worm dip I get from Jane's Netcraft.

Haha! So much fun to do these. It's definitely a thing that was I'll try it to an addiction. Lol. I think the blue just turned lighter because of the other colors mixing in there.
@@SargsHappyLittleDiscs thanks for the reply! After watching several of your videos I noticed that. I just ordered a couple of white discs and I am going to order the pro chemical neon set and black to start my journey!😊
You are off to a great start, you are getting the good stuff. Mention Sarg's Happy Little Discs when you order your pro chemical and dye. I don't get anything from the mention of me to them, just a shout out. Cheers
Haha! Thank you. I need to get more white discs to dye up. I do mostly sell to local shops, but I could sell some to you. I just do t have any to due up at the moment.
Thank you for all these videos, they're awesome and helpful! What liquid do you mix with the Pro Chem / i-dye in those black dropper bottles, and how much dye do you use in that mix? Your colors look very rich and saturated, and so far mine have been a bit muted.
I mix the powder dye with acetone. I do 1/4 teaspoon per 1 oz of acetone. for the muted colors, it also depends on the plastic that you're using. I also use a little bit of heat to try and get more saturation.
Hey there Jeremy. I use a seeding mat from Amazon. I have always used them and they seem to work well. I use the one that doesn't have a controller. Cheers
@@SargsHappyLittleDiscs question on this topic. The acetone that the dye is mixed into does not erase the stamp? This little thread answers all my questions except that.
If you let the acetone evaporate out of the bed after you make the bed, most stamps will hold up. There are some exceptions to that though, most Innova stamps are some of the worst out there and will come off with a little bit of rubbing. So you have to be careful with their stamps. Very light scrubbing when you're washing them off. Most all other brands will hold up pretty well though. There's some that are great and then there's some that are average... Then you have the ones that if you look at them sideways they just disappear.
Hey there! The cloth was just your run of the mill paper towel folded up to make it have some strength so it doesn't fold into the bed. I believe the bubbles don't rise under heat, they may... But I haven't noticed it. The ones I'm getting out are on the top layer.
Sorry I missed this. I have heard of people doing that. They do add more dye to the bed though. I feel if you just put another disc in there as is it would turn out a bit mutated and not as bright. I just dump them and start fresh every time.
Wow, thanks! I appreciate it. I'm using Amazon clear glue and also some Elmer's clear glue. Any clear glue will work though, if you can find some cheaper stuff go for it. For the dye I'm using Pro chemical and dye and idye poly. You can get Pro chemical and dye from their website. They actually have a spot for disc golfers. Idye poly is also an amazing product. If you get either one of the dies, let them know I sent you. I don't get anything from you ordering any dye, they're just really good products so I tell people about them.
@@SargsHappyLittleDiscs Also, do you only dye white discs? And what plastics do you like best from the companies? Thanks again man, planning on dyeing some for CTP prizes for an upcoming tournament I'm running and yours look amazing.
Right on, do it! So white premium plastic from any manufacturer is great. Once you go to lighter color discs they start to change the color of the dyes. For instance, yellow or pink discs will still dye but they will look a little different than a true white disc. White discs are the best to dye for sure, just make sure they are premium plastic... Star, neutron, esp, S line, neo, Opto, fusion, gold line, K1 or k1 soft, etc etc etc.
Glue just holds the dye well. It also transfers well to the plastic. You can use white glue, floetrol, lotion, shampoo, etc etc and many other mediums. Clear glue just seems to work well.
I don't have many discs ready to dye, but I would happily just dye one of yours if you sent it to me. Shoot me an email at sargsHappylittlediscs@gmail.com

The glue doesn't dry and turn hard? Do you cover it in wrap over night?
It dries a bit on the edges where the disc doesn't touch the glue. It doesn't dry at all under the disc.
So the print/foil will not get damaged or overlayed when doing this?
Correct. The foil will not get damaged.

what did you do to make the logo not take on the dye? I've never done this so i genuinely dont know
So I didn't do anything...I'll explain. So most all logos are foil. Most, about 90%, won't take the dye. The dye just washes off of the foiled logo.
