@@breewashere #1 The only way society will learn the importance of law enforcement is if the whole law enforcement family quit & walkout,the odds of police vs criminal use if these devices are as = criminal 100% use for wrong,law enforcement 5% use for wrong. Seattle is a shining example of what happens when you put law enforcement on the back burner.

@@breewashere I'm an armed security guard & bounty hunter,that net works with law enforcement,federal,state,local,lived in the hood in the capacity of a courtesy officer,90% of my friends are law enforcement,I already testified against 2 that I'm no longer friends with for the FBI,have family members & friends whom used to be and some still in the game,based on my first hand experience & acquaintance I can honestly say that the percentage of law enforcement is not as bad as the media would have you to believe,also law enforcement/government always have and has tracking devices,so.e resources they have at their disposal aren't event made known to the general public,BUT,when in all likelihood when such resources are made available to the general public the chances of using these things for the wrong purpose are far worse than the small margin of law enforcement is doing with such devices.

You can track your wife and make sure she is where she says she is.
To use an Airtag you have to pair it with an iPhone which has to be paired to an Apple account. So isn't it fairly easy to find out who the stalker is once the device is found?

Bootleg companies instantly rip apple products without security features for less money lol.
And recall Apple refused to cooperate willingly in the mass shooting so how willing will they be on an average stalker homicide.

I use these AirTags for lost prevention. Now with the notifications they just will not work as well as the tags can be found by anyone with an iPhone and removed. I was able to track a stolen vehicle and give that information to the police and the vehicle was recovered the same day.
When used properly these can be very powerful. If tags had to be registered with a real person prior to activation that could solve this.
I feel like everything has gotten so expensive except these 😂😂

I have an AirTag myself. I only use it to keep track of my ID and keys. I’m not a bloody creep.
What if your keys don't want to be track? Sounds like an invasion of your keys privacy.

My brand new car was stolen from my apartment complex when I was awake. Took them 10 mins. I only found the car because I had an AirTag inside the car on a spare key set.
Bad practice to store your spare key inside your car lucky it worked in your favor lol

Prob a good idea to just leave a spare airtag hidden in the car. IF theives steal the car you can track it. If they have an iphone they would probably ditch the car pretty quickly after getting the warning.

well, when I saw the news about AirTag Stalking, I thought it is a good tool to track my vehicle, just in case it gets stolen....then I found out that not compatible with any iPhone....mine is iPhone 6s, I know it's 2022 already~~~~so I have to say, sometimes, most of us live in a lifestyle that is "cheaper" than criminals do~~~~enjoy the technology and keep our fingers crossed! Love and Peace
Really? I have a 6s plus too. But use my iPad mini 6 cellular as a phone instead now.
my town busted a auto chop shop because of "lo-jack" tracking...neighbor had complained about cars going in and parts going out but cops had no proof until a lo jacked car was reported stolen and it pinged at that address...good and bad in everything...

How do you get notified if you are caring an air tag someone planted on you if you do not carry a cell phone?
I set mine for not sharing!! Are these people setting it to share?
Doesn’t it notify you if there is an air tag following you that you didn’t set up yourself though?
They didn't mention that only Apple IOS will alert you to an Airtag, Android doesn't have that feature (you have to download a seperate app). So if someone wanted to track you and knew that you don't have an Apple phone, they can do so and you be none the wiser. Evil people will do evil things regardless, so stay safe and stay alert!
It's so funny how people are not realizing the real reason why they are inventing these products and have the nerve to talk about misuse.
If people could keep track of their keys, this technology wouldn’t even be necessary, much less require fixing. People over-rely on technology.

Had this placed in my car to track if it gets stolen, car was stolen, thief got notified and disabled the airtag. Bottom line, they don't work if used properly because the only one it helps its' the thief / stalker.
This is the trouble with tracking devices. Stalkers have been looking for these devices and now Apple has accommodated them. I'm pretty sure Googles tracking device already solved this prob. BTW

I remember reading about this potentially happening when Airtags was first announced. I'm sure stalkers and other criminals have been using tile for years. Airtags are just more reliable.

Milwaukee Tools has a TRACKING Similar device , so it shouldn't just be Isolated to Apple AirTags. The Milwaukee Tool Tracker can be bought online or at Hardware stores . If you use Apple products it will Notify you if AIRTAG is present , but Milwaukee tracker doesn't notify anyone ,scary.
I’m getting an air tag to make sure my boyfriend is being good .
I have my gps turned off on my phone and do not use any apps because not only do you give them permission to track you but you are allowing all of them to turn on your camera at any time. Yes, I read the fine print.
I would hide it in my car, in case it gets stolen, I will be able to track it.

This is so ridiculous, Galaxy had these over a decade ago. I used my successfully and not one person "stalked" me! I don't know why Apple can't perfect their technology the way that Google did back over a decade ago!

It has no any sense till we have another air tags available. In other words it's no matter if Apple air tags has sound warning or not, because if someone wants to trace another person they going to use a galaxy air tag by default.

Ironically, and if not already, it will be the car thieves who will actually use these devices - ie putting them on expensive cars etc, to conveniently track where they are later for a more convenient time ie at night etc, to steal the car.
Has for putting tags on pets. I had a dog (Max - Chocolate labradoodle) that recently and suddenly fell ill and died from leukemia. And when out with him I would see other dogs with electronic tags on their collars, unfortunately probably due to that in the UK there is a lot of dog stealing, especially pedigree /pedigree mixes.
So, tags are ok if your looking for a 'lost' cat/dog, ie in the park /local neighbourhood....but don't think it's gonna find your dog if it is stolen, cos the despicable scum dog thieves will just remove and trash it. 'Watch your dogs like you..you watch you money!.

Tile no tile tracker no tracker, if someone is so gung ho to stalk you they never had a problem with doing so long before these devices came out. If anything just as well as these things can be used to track in the negative, we must also consider the positives in being able to track people. Imagine your child goes missing god forbid, and yet your able to find them (typically in a 5 mile radius no less) with such a device. The more people have them actually the less cases of kidnappings and obductions. We are already using cell phone pings to track were obductees were taken. As those pings gets stored in records. Dont let a few crazies take away the one thing that would actually see to their own fails.

If Apple had designed this with security in mind instead of a cheap manufacturing process they could have easily secured them. All they needed was a digital key, too easy. They just didn't care and no doubt they knew about this problem before selling it.
You'd think Me Too would be all over this. Just what women need.

There have already been dozens of cases where people discovered they were being tracked with AirTag. Surely hundreds more cases where the victim isn't aware.
and it was her boyfriend who put it on her... and really she likes it but it's not pc to admit it.
I put an airtag in my girlfriends well ex girlfriends purse and caught her cheating with an apple employee we went to see at the genius bar weeks prior
