One of the biggest casualties of this pandemic seems to be the ability to care about the well-being of others. Just as Covid-19 is changing our behaviour until eradicated, so HIV has changed attitudes to high-risk behaviour. I’m Alaska native and would like to address the comments about vit D deficiency. Living in such a unique environment has made some physiological changes over many thousands of years to our bodies. One of those changes is that we do not require as much vit d. We obtain this through our diet and traditional foods mainly. It has also been addressed through our healthcare system for years. We are regularly tested for levels and are prescribed supplements accordingly. I take vit d everyday and have for many years. Our high rate of covid negative impacts is due to socioeconomic reasons. We have homes that do not have running water. We have several generations of families living in cramped conditions and we have issues with being able to afford healthy foods. The government runs our healthcare and so you can imagine it is very sparse. We have to travel great distances to see a doctor, so preventive care is almost non existent for many many health conditions. The politics of it all is a huge barrier. Just thought I would throw that out there! I really do WISH it was as simple a fix as taking a pill everyday.

Here in the US, southern Florida is were I am, we had a policy of testing every person who came through the ER. The last 10 days they changed and only test symptomatic patients so our numbers of covid look lower so they can open up more of florida the govenor said. But they didnt tell the hospital employees. So now many of the nurses and staff have been exposed including me by people who tested positive 3 days after being in the hospital. We thought they were being tested when they came in so when we took care of people that weren't positive we thought they were negative and didn't wear the N95 and goggles! Now we are exposed! Well said. People do not seem to be able to understand that the number of deaths a virus causes is due to how successful it’s ability to gain access to the more parts of body it is. A virus invades a cell, forces it to produce more virus then KILLS the cell. Hi Dr Campbell, I'm currently in quarantine after an emergency trip to the UK to look after my mum. I arrived the day that mandatory mask wearing came into being. I never felt unsafe until I flew back to the Caribbean and on the flight I was sat next to a complete stranger even tho there were empty seats. Had to have a negative test before I was allowed on the flight and on arrival temperature was taken, and I was told to stay home for 14 days and to report my temperature twice a day to a local nurse. When people try and draw similarities between the flu and COVID-19 I wonder if they know the long term effects of COVID-19. In earlier videos you were talking about requirements that included two consequent negative tests but also improving chest x-rays. Are these chest x-rays no longer used as a tool in order to follow the progression of the COVID19 in a patient?
As the masks don’t prevent the virus people are rebelling against the intense restrictions. I know it will reduce the amount of virus transmitted but they’ll all get sick to some extent unless they isolate. Valeree Hansen I would go as far as to say that it was focus on proper sanitation that was solely responsible for the eventual lowering of the death rate. The timing of the improvement added up more with better sanitation and cleanliness rather than 'medical care'. The medical industry is quick to take props for many things which they had no hand in. Had a very interesting conversation with a young chap this afternoon. It is not the first time i have heard this from Canadian Chinese people. This chap’s grandmother was living in a LTC home in North York. There is a large Chinese population in this home. Some listen to the news back home on some channel that is in Cantonese. This virus not sure what they called it back there had been circulating last October or earlier. A strange type of pneumonia was seen. Relatives of a person in LTC returned back from visiting Wuhan i believe in late October November 2019. The home started immediate measures of containment and distancing relatives as they were wary of people back home returning with the virus. So this is well before any talk of this virus coming to Canada. You cannot tell me that the virus just stayed away for all those months which means this virus has been here months before the WHO and our government has said and our curve only seemed to arrive in say March? Where has it been all this time? Has this virus mutated and become more damaging? As i said someone else locally is from Wuhan and their grandparents contracted coronavirus back home. His grandfather died and grandmother survived. His date suggests an earlier timeframe as well. And he should know. I am beginning to believe no one about this virus. And i have investigated viruses in general and they usually affect young children as well the elderly. If someone told me at this point some crazy theory about getting rid of old people i think i might believe it.....

I' from Germany and I'm not troubled about the recent demonstrations ... even the little escalation over the weekend is nothing to be shocked/disturbed about. I’m Alaska native and would like to address the comments about vit D deficiency. Living in such a unique environment has made some physiological changes over many thousands of years to our bodies. One of those changes is that we do not require as much vit d. We obtain this through our diet and traditional foods mainly. It has also been addressed through our healthcare system for years. We are regularly tested for levels and are prescribed supplements accordingly. I take vit d everyday and have for many years. Our high rate of covid negative impacts is due to socioeconomic reasons. We have homes that do not have running water. We have several generations of families living in cramped conditions and we have issues with being able to afford healthy foods. The government runs our healthcare and so you can imagine it is very sparse. We have to travel great distances to see a doctor, so preventive care is almost non existent for many many health conditions. The politics of it all is a huge barrier. Just thought I would throw that out there! I really do WISH it was as simple a fix as taking a pill everyday.

Here in the US, southern Florida is were I am, we had a policy of testing every person who came through the ER. The last 10 days they changed and only test symptomatic patients so our numbers of covid look lower so they can open up more of florida the govenor said. But they didnt tell the hospital employees. So now many of the nurses and staff have been exposed including me by people who tested positive 3 days after being in the hospital. We thought they were being tested when they came in so when we took care of people that weren't positive we thought they were negative and didn't wear the N95 and goggles! Now we are exposed! Pres Trump said if we stop testing so.much our numbers will go down. So thats what we've been doing. Ugh!

I have never heard of anyone dying of influenza. The death certificates I know of usually say Pneumonia.

Hi Dr Campbell, I'm currently in quarantine after an emergency trip to the UK to look after my mum. I arrived the day that mandatory mask wearing came into being. I never felt unsafe until I flew back to the Caribbean and on the flight I was sat next to a complete stranger even tho there were empty seats. Had to have a negative test before I was allowed on the flight and on arrival temperature was taken, and I was told to stay home for 14 days and to report my temperature twice a day to a local nurse. So teaching online until I'm allowed to move about. Thanks for your videos, I've been watching since March. 😊

When people try and draw similarities between the flu and COVID-19 I wonder if they know the long term effects of COVID-19. The inflammation, the heart probelms, blood vessel damage, nerve damage, hair loss, tissue damage, lung scaring, rashes, bruising, joint pain, the lack of energy, continual fever, constant cough etc, all which have yet to resolve many months on. Has the flu ever ruined lives in this way? Honest question, but I'm guessing no. So it's like the flu?! In earlier videos you were talking about requirements that included two consequent negative tests but also improving chest x-rays. Are these chest x-rays no longer used as a tool in order to follow the progression of the COVID19 in a patient?
As the masks don’t prevent the virus people are rebelling against the intense restrictions. I know it will reduce the amount of virus transmitted but they’ll all get sick to some extent unless they isolate. Valeree Hansen I would go as far as to say that it was focus on proper sanitation that was solely responsible for the eventual lowering of the death rate. The timing of the improvement added up more with better sanitation and cleanliness rather than 'medical care'. The medical industry is quick to take props for many things which they had no hand in. I looked over the evidence once a long time ago and that was the conclusion I came to. I might look into it again.

Had a very interesting conversation with a young chap this afternoon. It is not the first time i have heard this from Canadian Chinese people. This chap’s grandmother was living in a LTC home in North York. There is a large Chinese population in this home. Some listen to the news back home on some channel that is in Cantonese. This virus not sure what they called it back there had been circulating last October or earlier. A strange type of pneumonia was seen. Relatives of a person in LTC returned back from visiting Wuhan i believe in late October November 2019. The home started immediate measures of containment and distancing relatives as they were wary of people back home returning with the virus. So this is well before any talk of this virus coming to Canada. You cannot tell me that the virus just stayed away for all those months which means this virus has been here months before the WHO and our government has said and our curve only seemed to arrive in say March? Where has it been all this time? Has this virus mutated and become more damaging? As i said someone else locally is from Wuhan and their grandparents contracted coronavirus back home. His grandfather died and grandmother survived. His date suggests an earlier timeframe as well. And he should know. I am beginning to believe no one about this virus. And i have investigated viruses in general and they usually affect young children as well the elderly. If someone told me at this point some crazy theory about getting rid of old people i think i might believe it.....

In terms of deaths 0.01% of the worldwide population. Every case is one too many but to think of this as a disaster is a wild exaggeration - particularly when compared to the damage being done to the world economy - something which pays for healthcare and other support services. One has to ask whether it is remotely worth it.

To be fair, Berlin is a bit of a mini-universe in and of itself and it is generally not possible to extrapolate. - That being said there is a debate going on. The latest protests were originally banned (precisely because of the blatant disregard of regulations during the previous protests), then un-banned (while obligating the organiser to make sure regulations are observed... except for mask wearing [???!!!]) the reason being that democracy is obligated to allow and listen to dissenting voices regardless of what's going on or how ridiculous those voices are. This 'allowing dissenting voices' and having the right to hold protests to make those voices heard, has probably a different significance in Germany, givgen the history of silencing dissenting voices during certain periods.
I personally dont mind them protesting, as long as they dont turn it into riots like in the USA
I' from Germany and I'm not troubled about the recent demonstrations ... even the little escalation over the weekend is nothing to be shocked/disturbed about. In an open society, everyone ... even those with crazy ideas ... are entitled to speak publicly and join demonstrations for/against anything. Every secure democracy has to endure such things. Unfortunately, our media, our politicians and our 'cultural elite' (for want of a better word!) bend over backwards to show how disgusted/grievestriken/appalled they are whenever something controversial happens. But that's not how the people in general feel about it. We nod, frown upon those crazy placards, incoherent speeches, clueless demonstrators and the whole 'eventism' such demonstrations have become in recent years. They are in the headlines for 48 hours and then it's back to normal.
The danger is not those few (compared to the whole population) demonstrators with their strange ideas, but the notion that somehow those demonstrators should not have the right to assemble peacefully and demonstrate for what they believe is right. Germans always have the tendency to think or say something like: "Oh now, you can't say that publicly! This is highly improper!". Alienating those people leads to rifts right through the society, possible with long term damages to our democracy ...so let them have their strange happenings, their pointless arguments and protect their right - and thereby protecting our own right - to express their opinion.
