- We have spent almost a year planning to get to this point. We purchased property, spoke with city officials (preliminarily), and now the real start to this project comes down to this...the vote of the neighbors!
In this video we're breaking down our business plan and sharing all the details that we will be going door-to-door and sharing with the neighbors (due to an old restrictive covenant from 1945 that still governs the neighborhood).
We have to receive a vote in support of our project from a majority of the owners within the plat in order to move forward with our plans and present (in an official capacity) to city officials.

►We are Marek (dad now) and Kothney-Issa (mom now) Bush, a millennial couple that paid off $125,000 worth of debt -- becoming 100% DEBT FREE by age 27! Now, two years later at 29, we are mom and dad to baby Zalayah! We sold the Tiny House you came to know us in and now we're in our first traditional home as a family!

►We met (and dated!) in the 7th Grade at Lincoln Middle School in Kansas City, Missouri in 2007. We tied the knot in 2014 and are now in our 7th year of marriage!

I suggest you do a QR code with digital versions of this. These days paper goes straight in the trash but people are likely to scan a QR and revisit it later

This is soooooooo beautiful!! It is so great to see a dream of you and Kothney-Issa being turned into reality and showing the steps of what it takes to be successful and to build generational wealth. I think your tiny village will be good for the community. It will bring in many first time and retired homeowners with money to spend in the local area. Plus, it's much better for the neighborhood to have homeowners rather than an apartment complex built on your new lot. Pride of ownership brings in a good crowd of folks. Kothney-Issa, you are glowing! Motherhood suits you so well.

Honestly I was a bit worried about how it would be because of the small site size but DAMN! What a great design. Love the parking on the outskirts, pretty courtyard/garden in the center and some trees left to hang out. So inspiring 😊

I think this is a great idea and I want to move down there when I retire. I'm having a tiny house that is built to withstand MN winters, but want to be in Kansas City because I'm getting older and your winters aren't as long or cold as ours.

I live in missouri and have been praying for a dedicated tiny house community. Not a trailer park. Every chance I get I travel by the Veterans Tiny House Community on 89th and Troost and dream of the day something like this would be possible for non veterans. With a community of people with the same passion and love for the movement. 💗

Maybe see about getting that restrictive covenant removed!; don't accept that as a fait accompli. Have a real estate lawyer look into it! A LOT has changed since 1945, and that covenant may no longer be viable or necessary. The words "restrictive covenant" always makes me think, (perhaps I am overthinking it, but I doubt it ), racism. God bless you on this project, and on your sweet family. I wanted to see the baby more in the video, to be honest. Lol
There is a great deal of suspicion around tiny homes, not necessarily the people living in them.
What people often picture are individuals who build outside housing codes and compost their own waste.
It takes a lot to convince people that 260 sqft homes down the street can be done successfully. Our neighborhood used to have a restriction of slate roofs only. After Hurricanes every year, neighbors got together and decided this was ridiculous.
This tiny lot community is goals. Great job!
