These two passionate van lifers strive for a journey of passive income, adventure, and freedom. Entrepreneurship is the name of their success, and it shows with the variety of ideas that generates a six-figure income. Emmaus and Nikki lead by example as they share their tips and tricks openly through social media.
On the exterior of their rig, you'll find a couple of off-road bikes hiding the ladder that leads to the roof deck. The gorgeous interior has personal touches throughout, with wedding gifts repurposed into new uses and delicate flower vases velcroed down near the wall of frames and photos. The kitchen is adequate with proper storage space, and Emmaus and Nikki installed a 72" projector screen enhancing their living room that converts into the bed for those Netflix nights.

As an African-American nearing her 50's and seriously considering going tiny I like looking at all of my potential options. I enjoyed seeing this young couple out there exploring the world and living life. Well done young people. Well done!
My parents are in the same boat looking to drastically downsize, luckily I own a very small house and need more room sooooo we're gonna swap.
Definitely tiny. You'd probably want to try it out first to see if you get claustrophobic. My grandfather bought an RV in his early 60's as a home away from home on wheels decades ago which had the perfect size to travel or temporarily live in. Anything smaller like this, idk.
As someone else pointed out, I love to see more people of color choosing this option. Love their build.

I've only seen 2 black families doing van life and I'm proud of you for venturing out the other one spoke of the challenge of being black regarding safety he said it is very worrisome for him there are places he can't go and feel safe and it made me sad to think our world still is so blind.

Finally someone isn’t giving us crap about wanting to break generational curses. I made a promise with my soon to be 5 year old that in the next year this is where we will be.
I love to see "our community" thinking outside the box. I'd like to add (to anybody watching this video) that you DO NOT have to earn 6 figures to create and enjoy this lifestyle. Matter of fact, I plan on having a RAM Pro Master built out for the price of a new car. Encouragement to this young couple and STAY TOGETHER. The life you(two) have built for yourself sounds like a great foundation for many joyful days you deserve. Love the energy and love the design.

Thanks so much! And you are absolutely correct! We would have started with a wing and prayer if we didn’t have all of the finances but decided that it was really something that we wanted to do. It just takes making a decision and surprisingly, when your mind is set on something, you’ll find ways to get it done!

I love that this couple mentioned how they became affluent. More people of color need to know income streams are available to them, and you can work smarter, not harder. They are unpretentious, and are not living in a mansion, trying to impress anyone. They will have a nice retirement nest egg to look forward to.

The pillow storage is one of the best idea I’ve seen…I live in a converted garage studio apartment so space is quite limited. I love seeing us making this transition to hit the road and share your story. The van is amazing

Listen I know exactly what you all experience with ppl being surprised that African Americans actually live this way
My parents had us camping since we were kids in the 80's and we traveled up and down the east coast & would usually be the only black family at most of the campgrounds and we never cared...
I would just share all the fun we had with others hoping they'd embrace it too and I'd invite my cousins or friends from the neighborhood.. You don't know what you would like until u try it at least
My goal is to live this way permanently

My family camped when I was young. My dad took fridays off May threw October. Long weekends. I have camped my whole adult life. And I cant wait to camp for a few years…wow..working on my build now…
You guys are so lucky to have had that type of exposure from and early age! The closest we got to camping as kids was putting up sheet forts in the living room lol…

My Uncle did it too, he had a luxury top of the line RV. I would not do it, because I thought I would get hung in a tree by my neck. I am a truck driver now, enjoying the view, but with fear, because white drivers are always trying to run me off the road.

Aww thx linda! The goal was to be as comfortable as possible when inside but not so comfortable that we would never want to get out to explore (hence the smaller sized van vs a Skoolie or larger rv 😉)

I love that this woman has her acrylic nails while doing van life. I like that she chooses to express herself in the way that she wants, even though life on the road makes it more difficult to have a regular nail tech and appointments.
One of the best van's I seen yet since I've been watching this movement of van living or lifestyle. You guys are inspiring and thank for sharing. We as Black have to stop limiting ourselves and just live the life we desire to live. At 52, you youngsters ♥ have inspired me to look into this lifestyle of living and passive income. A friend of the family lived in her van when I was growing up in the 80's. She saved money, retired, and traveled the country. She was married to an Arabic man when she was younger and fell in love with his culture and country. Later in life, she started traveling to different countries in the Middle East once a year. She would always bring my sister and me cool little trinkets from her travels. It was a very fulfilling life for her.

I was really going to call the builder to find out all the technical descriptions of things so that so could talk knowledgeably about the van like I’ve seen in other videos… but then i realized that I wanted to be authentic and show that you don’t need to build yourself or even necessarily know how things work to get started in this life.
Love how there's space for everything you need, and it doesn't feel cluttered. A lot of previous comments said it looks like a luxury apartment, and I have to agree!

I was considering getting a van I'm a mountainbiker I would love to be able to travel and live in my van the problem here is that I'm a dialysis patient so that kind of excludes me from living a normal life however it still doesn't stop me from having a van and being able to travel and have a decent and safe place to spend the night and return back home to do treatment watching you guys and how your van looks and how you guys operate it's motivation and I really appreciate the good ideas with the decorations especially spice rack

And no, i wasn’t the outdoors type, neither of us were honestly (we like AC and hate bugs, snakes etc lol) but we like adventure way more than we dislike any of those things so the outdoors have grown on us ☺️

I love how she puts her man on a pedal stool and compliments him on everything. Love seeing African American couple making a good life for themselves and still living this way. Off grid if they want and travelling all over seeing all the sights and just enjoying each other. Gotta love that!!🙏🏾😊
