You just popped up. A great way to start my day. Alls I need is a cup of tea. By raising their prices Goodwill is cutting off their nose to spite their face. Somehow, they have forgot they receive all their items for free!thanks for another great video. Have a great day.
Whilst charities receive free items we have a policy to honour the donor to get the best price possible if we can’t sell the items they go to another store where it will get the best price. Plus we have overheads like paying staff, bills otherwise we wouldn’t be in business. I’ve been in the charity sector since 2013 end off, the money made is for the animals if it’s an animal charity, then Cancer charities homeless people. That’s why we charge what we do. It’s a business at the end of the day. When I take my donations in I want a good price.
The print of the little girl with the kitten is one of the "Northern Famous American Beauty Portraits" which marketed Northern toilet tissue in the 1960's. I remember them from when I was a little girl.
I thought bird feeder also, but how does the seed stay in without pouring out,I thought maybe a bag holder, cuz I love mine, but a bird feeder seems more likely.
I love when you start finding a lot of great finds! Your voice gets an excited tone, and if you weren't in the middle of a store, I can picture you jumping up and down with excitement! This day of treasure finds, is why you love your job!
I've been watching you and Mellisa for so many years. I rotate among UA-cam resellers, i'll spend a week at a time binging on someone's videos. Whenever I watch yours, I am always amazed at how much of your sourcing strategy is based on instinct. I feel like I am picking up a lot of knowledge just from, these simple yet knowledge dense videos you regularly post. Also you and Roger are so cute. i know this will just embarrass him but it's so endearing to see him warm up to your audience over time. Anyways, I love your stuff, i hope you dont mind that i am always tagging you and sharing your content on instagram LOL. Have a great weekend! -Melissa
OMG the two of you are amazing on these scavenger hunts. Yes you are speaking Yiddish for oh the dismay. Good for you don't we all throw it out there every once in awhile. A lot of great finds, he might need a bigger vehicle, haha. Can't wait to see your house when it's done it's cute and charming
I had one of those Jamestown glass disks when I was a kid! We picked it up on vacation there, as you suspected. I believe it was marketed as a paperweight when I bought it back then, but I like your idea of using them as coasters. Thanks for taking us along on your thrifting adventures!
I think we all hit an age where we suddenly become "cat ladies" - even if they're artwork cats! The stacked lucite/glass ball lamp is likely Target. I have a pair and love them. Thank you, as always, for the great videos!
Oh Karen, what a great score! You & Roger make a great team. I would have definitely bought the crystal/glass lamp. I have found wonderful lampshades on Etsy, or sell the lamp as is.. Your Goodwill shelves are packed. Lucky you!
I’m 41 & in the beginning stage of getting a divorce from the man I’ve been with for over half my life and I have to say; your relationship with Roger has inspired me to look to the future! Hopefully I can find someone who enjoys the same things I do 😊
That's the ticket, Brenna - only give your heart to where it's worthy! There is another reseller who makes UA-cam videos, Debbie #Love2Shop242 , who has actually talked in a video about how wonderfully that all worked out for her, with her choice of a 2d husband who had the same interest she did!!
That was Indiana Glass and the color is called Avocado Green! It only sells for about $29 so I think $7 was probably a little too high. It was pretty though!
The picture was put out by Northern toilet paper. I remember my mother buying them for the room my sister and I shared. They cost a few box tops and change. There was a series. I remember the Seasons. They were popular in the early 60's.
Hello, I love your channel and how you share your knowledge! YKK zippers I discover are Canadian, as am I! I am so hooked on your channel after finding you a few days ago, as a thrifter myself; mostly for my own needs/desires, and I think I have a very good eye for value after realizing some of your videos, and the types of searches I have done. I’ve not stopped viewing your videos, for a few days! You are definitely an inspiration not only in your knowledge and how to resale items, but also keeping these items out of the landfill, as do I We are such a consuming/throw away society, and I love new like anyone, but will take a tour of a thrift store with excitement looking for something I can clean and use for myself, as opposed to new, whether it be home goods or clothing. Thank you again for sharing your secrets and knowledge in the resale market, and carry on!
Yes, that’s what happens it seems-they price higher and stuff stops moving until it’s on sale. It’s frustrating. The inventory they get is endless and free.
Something to remember about sorting coin banks. Since the new coins came out they are a different size and weight and my hubby had to stop using his because coins would jam. Yep new coins. Thinner and sometimes size
OY, VEY! Karen, my mother used to say that all day long ;> It's a Yiddish expression, from the lower East Side part of NYC - altho my mother was Catholic, anyone who was poor & struggling, living in cold-water apartments during the Depression lived in this area, and that's where my mother picked it up. It's like saying "Oh, no!" or more popular today - O M G!
The picture of the beautiful little girl with the kitten… She is part of a series of prints which were given away by Charmin bath tissue back in the 60s I think.
The glass “coasters” in the wicker container, I got a Jamestown one in ‘79 when I was a child. Just like the one you have. We watched glass blowers making them, then purchased one as a souvenir. 😊
Just reading comments to see if anyone else caught the gravy boat. Very pretty. Do you think it was flipable (is that even a word lol). Not sure if they are hard to find. Have a great day everyone and Merry Christmas from Arkansas.
Those Barrister lamps are awesome!! I love the glass lamp, too! Actually, all of the lamps you picked up were amazing! I think the coasters you picked up could be Blenko. My former husband collects glass coasters from all over & they usually are Blenko. Either way, I’m sure they are desirable, so good pick up! So many treasures today! I would be so excited:)!
That bag of handles you picked up...I have them on my cabinets in my shop. They were my in laws cabinets and they gave them to me. From the 1970s. They clean up well. They are brass and the center is plastic.
I am SO HAPPY you stay local to my area - Lancaster and Shillington. It doesn’t make sense for me to travel to Maryland. etc. considering the cost of gas right now. Thank you! I really really enjoy all your videos!
I've just seen your channel and you share so much wisdom. I have been thrifting for several years and I have difficulty deciding what to leave, so I end up with so much that I can't sell in my booths. I've dabbled in selling on eBay but that didn't work to well for me. It is helpful to me so see how you decide to leave or keep something. I'm enjoying watching your channel! Have a Merry Christmas!
"Flat Houses" is what their are called. I sold a small nation city made by Cats Meow several years ago for about $14. They were hand painted. I like them.
Great haul in this video! What did Roger pay for the RC car? I love all the lamps that you found; that heavy desk lamp near the end of the video should bring a big price. 👍
Hello Karen, Another fabulous video. Thank you for sharing. The Goodwill stores in my area do not have a huge hardgoods section. I don't understand why because each time I go to Goodwill I see people taking in boxes of stuff. CindyJo
Karen, you and Roger are giddy like young high schoolers in love, ha ha. Good scores today and a very large haul indeed; going to need a 3rd cart. I wish we had your GWs. Ours are practically empty except for clothes and furniture. Really good that you have a large basement to store longtail, unless it moves right out. Keep in mind, todays postage rates for those heavy things. This was a fun video. Say hello to Roger!
My husband did residential painting for 10 years up in Virginia, It's way to cold to paint exteriors. There's not enough time for the paint to properly cure before sundown and you'll have a peeling house in 2-3 years if you paint this late in the year, even with latex paint. I'd reconsider till spring to save yourself time and effort!
Love your videos. Have learned so much. Maybe you could do a video showing how you package items up for shipping - especially larger items. Thank you for sharing your shopping trips.
I thought it was smart of you to put the large clock back, there wasn't enough quality in it and we pay fees on shipping, so well worth thinking twice. You rock: those antique lamps! Congrats; vintage and antique lighting is a really good marketI find, and a joy to pick up :)
I think the picture that you got is one of the printes that did all the big eye pictures. Margraet keens. Even the prints are to find. I don't know if the prints are worth that much. Need to read her book.
You missed the Hydroflask! Those are so expensive and you probably could have made $25 to $30. I pick those up and Yeti and they do well. 😁it was at min. 15:59 the purple one on the top shelf just left of your hand.
I live in Kentucky and the Goodwill here do not compare to where you thrift. The color of the day is only on clothing. Also curious what you do with the frames that you take the prints out of? I enjoy watching you and Roger.
I just bought an LE Smith Compote dish with lid (red and yellow on bottom stem) about 8-10 inches tall at an antique store. $28 bucks....checked ebay and found 3 the same....28, 45, 35.....plus 20 dollars shipping. I paid $28 dollars (had a 30% discount)...going to make a really nice dip in for Christmas....
Hi Karen, I have a thing for lamps and can't seem to pass them up. They've done pretty well in my shop as well. Good luck with yours. I'm thinking they will go pretty quickly. Thanks for the video.
Hi Karen. Look forward to before and after! What colour/s are you planning for door and trim? Sherwin Williams has good paints🙂. I very much like how you blur-out people. Kudos! Too many you-tubers don't.(I find that so wrong)
You two make such a nice couple - you must have so much fun together- wish you both well! Love watching you.
I love how you make Roger laugh!! You guys go thrifting together and laugh together, perfect pair!!
Roger is definitely getting more comfortable around the camera lol. You guys are great together. Great finds!!
Roger made a very good score, glad he is comfortable to be on camera now! Love your videos!!
I Love you and Roger and your videos! I have learned a lot from watching your shows. Thank you!

Very good! Why did I associate the picture of the little girl with the old advertisements for Breck shampoo?
Thanks so much!! 💜
There are four of these in the set. My mom has had them for years😊♥️.
I had a set hanging in my bedroom as a little girl, I’m 70
The hanging cat is a bird feeder. Lol
Awesome that you knew that! What a great idea for a bird feeder.
wow you and roger found some great deals!
Thanks Jesus m I’m mm😅ok know i
Yes - bird feeder. I would grab him up.
I thought bird feeder also, but how does the seed stay in without pouring out,I thought maybe a bag holder, cuz I love mine, but a bird feeder seems more likely.
You 2 are a hoot!
I love when you start finding a lot of great finds! Your voice gets an excited tone, and if you weren't in the middle of a store, I can picture you jumping up and down with excitement! This day of treasure finds, is why you love your job!
You and Roger are too adorable🤗💕🙏🏼
Great video Karen! I remember Roger from back in the day before he met you. You have definitely put a spring in his step!
I loooove that plant stand! A big fern at the bottom and maybe a pothos on the top 😃
This is your best haul in a while ! So much fun seeing you find all that great treasure !❤

Me too, just shared with my sister! I've been binging you. Can I be you shopping buddy? 😊👍
Oh I love avocado green glass and ceramics. I match it with my gold amber glass and ceramics for a real 1960s look
Your selection of items is so awesome in PA Goodwill! I can see why the store is crowded. Nice haul, thanks for sharing.

Luv when you say..." I think I have to get these".
Luv those are some beautiful lamps.
"Oy Vay" is a reaction to hearing bad news. It means "woe is me" or "good grief!"
Those lamps are great! Lots of other treasures too!
Hi Karen ,can’t belive it’s Sunday again .well done you sending lv Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Hi, Karen! Having family to do reno's with is a DREAM! Looking 4ward to pic's!

WHAT A HAUL !!!!!! Fun video.

Loved this video!! Awesome finds; especially the barrister lamps!! You and Roger make an amazing team🥰
Karen , I'm definitely interested in those Poppy Placemats! I have Poppy Plates on my wall in my kitchen. :)
The picture of the beautiful little girl with the kitten… She is part of a series of prints which were given away by Charmin bath tissue back in the 60s I think.
I think it was Northern.
Those lamps are amazing!👍👏
Good evening, love your thrifting videos. I wish South Africa had such thrifting stores to choose from. 🇿🇦❤️
Make sure you use a high quality primer. Spackle, sand, prime. The $ in painting is mostly the prep.
Yes!! The primer is the best masonry primer on the market 👍💜
Roger has still been your best good will find. X
Absolutely 😊
We used SW Alabaster on our 1983 beach house. It really looks fresh and updated.
Yeah! , my house is white also with the dark bronze accents. Had it about 5 years now and haven’t regretted. It will look great on your home.
I just love your shopping vids! So much fun to go there with you! Love you guys.
Great video great lamps.
I would buy ANYTHING blow mold made ! It will be worth money in a few years. Use it until the price goes up!
my wife and I painted ours,, one wall at a time ,
Hello Roger, nice to see you🤗
I sold those exact same Drawer Pulls in less than a week. I would definitely pick those up again!!
The glass “coasters” in the wicker container, I got a Jamestown one in ‘79 when I was a child. Just like the one you have. We watched glass blowers making them, then purchased one as a souvenir. 😊
What a wonderful, relaxing shopping trip with many great finds!
I think that cute little angle's wing was broken. But there is not any rust in that one.
I love the "did I just make that up?"😂
Myott (the black transferware gravy boat) is a fine English china maker.
Just reading comments to see if anyone else caught the gravy boat. Very pretty. Do you think it was flipable (is that even a word lol). Not sure if they are hard to find. Have a great day everyone and Merry Christmas from Arkansas.
Great lamps
Wow what a day!!!

Hey Karen, Enjoyed today’s video a lot! The clear glass ball lamp you put back was a good decision. I have two just like it from Target.
Such great things in your haul! You have great GWs in PA!🎉 Great score for Roger, also!
what a great haul. that's amazing. I can't resist the things I don't want to ship also and that's ok!!

“I’m not quite sure why my mind says buy brown apples!” Lol! I love it! I totally get your process! 💗💗💗
I Vote No for clear shade bankers lamp. I had one - very pretty. But light shines up into your eyes. 💡 Traditional green ones shine light on desk. 💡
Ahh Loveeee the white ring Karen 🤩 still waiting for some kind of "my jewelry collection" video 🤭
I chose alabaster white for our house! I love it!
"I almost like it" 🤣😂🤣😂 One of my favorite comments you make.
My husband did residential painting for 10 years up in Virginia, It's way to cold to paint exteriors. The days have been in the 70s/ nights high 50s-60s
Like your wall color.
Fun thrifting adventure!

Nice show today you two👍
Cat bird feeder is great.
Love your hair❣️

Hi Karen , “oy vey” is “oh no !” In yiddish, which is a german jewish language. I watch you from Israel and enjoy every video. All the best !!!
I'm ready
Hi Karen, I have a thing for lamps and can't seem to pass them up. They've done pretty well in my shop as well. Good luck with yours. I'm thinking they will go pretty quickly. Thanks for the video.
Lucite ball lamp from Target.
