Karen! I had so much fun today out in wild shopping and applying many, many things that I’ve been learning from you! Before I left my house, I’d packed up six ceramic Pixies/Elves to mail off, 4 pieces to just one person, for well over $200. That was fun because one by itself had sold for $150! Anyway, thank you so much for the many, many tips that you pass on to those of us who want to resell but need your experience to help us from wasting so much time and money!!
Hi Karen just a funny story. I bought a ceramic pig made by David Corbridge. It was named Piggin Heaven. The pig his legs were up in the air. The detail was amazing. The pig was very happy laying on his back in ceramic mud. Facebook thought it was a real pig and took it off with a severe warning. To top it off I put in the description, " Everyone needs a good pig". Can you imagine what they thought. The pig is so realistic. Couldn't find a place where I could contact a person.
Thank you Karen for taking us shopping with you! I love your videos and I love going to thrift stores. I have learned so much from you and Roger that I'm going to start my own thrifting store! Keep making videos and keep taking us with you!
Bigger Bin of Jewelry: I was a bit surprised to see that you shifted jewelry into a large bin where it resides to a big heap, to have to sift to find what you seek. I might suggest you further divide your bin’s interior space with 2 long narrow boxes, sitting side by side, so that the bags stand upright in two rows with the numbers written in a top corner. That way the bags can be indexed in sequence, to flip through and save time. If the boxes aren’t full, use a filler block sized to the void to hold the bags in place. If you do something like this a second bin, with 2 more boxes, can be added when the inventory gets even larger. I began using a similar system years ago for my coins, tokens, pendants and pocket knives, etc, using white business envelopes. I used to get a lot of partial boxes when I cleared storage units and e-mails replaced snail mail so the envelopes were surplus. In my system the envelopes are sealed, turned upright and have 1 narrow end snipped off. I write what they hold on the white envelope. I reuse them over and over. As an item sells I line out the last description and write in the new one. A lot of items fit in a single row and my box choice is sized to be just a bit wider then the envelopes, but ziplocks would work the same way and the system can grow with inventory volume, staying organized.
You were very close in your speaking of "cones" in relation to the firing process for ceramics.😊 The tiny marks you pointed out on that green bud vase were made by things called "stilts" that you'd set your items on to keep the glaze on the bottoms from adhering to the kiln shelves during firing. "Cones" are the gauges that melt and droop when heat in the kiln reaches the proper temperature.
Hi Karen you have truly inspired me. I've always thrifted for personal use but never retail. I've watched your videos for a few months and I've started dipping my toes in the resale aspect of thrifting. Thanks to you it's going well. I appreciate all the advice you give on your videos. I'm truly grateful to you. Inspired in Chatt Tn Dreamah
Yeah, it's Karen! I look up to you, always have .And have been watching you for a long time. I have anxiety and would like to always be as calm as you. I remember a Fellow good will customer actually went through your cart knowing it belonged to you, and with you right there! You were very sweet and non reactive.
We love our air fryer. We cook chicken wings, frozen french fries, grilled cheese sandwiches (they come out great). Needless to say, you'll love yours.
Omg , how beauif7lly organized you have that basement , everything well wrapped and clean , that makes you a successful business woman , you go girl .love it
Mermaids: when my granddaughters were little, I had them half convinced that their grandmother was a mermaid, that came ashore after I found her, when I was a young pirate. They were vaguely aware that in my youth I had gone to sea as a sailor. Speaking of pirates, their were only subtle differences between a Pirate, a Privateer and a Naval Officer, back when ships had sails and they all plied their trade on the oceans. Who you worked for and the type of contract you sailed under made the destination. Sometimes the same sailor would be all 3 at some point in their career.
Please show us your process from the time you purchase the items to when they've sold and how you structure your time to do it all. All your videos show shopping and shipping but I don't recall any on how you prep, photograph, list, catalog and store. Thank you.
I don’t usually comment and I’m sure you heard this before but I was watching the video from Roots flea market . When you waited to talk to your friend at Gnome & Frog lo and behold the customer was ROGER! It was funny because you caught him up close and personal and then he seemed to hang around….hmmmm❤so glad you two ended up together and you have me tapping and looking under every piece in my house😂🤣😂
I saw that too. Karen even makes a comment about waiting to say hi to her friend when he was done with the ‘customer’ that was checking out. I really cracked up, Karen must have been keeping it quiet about dating Roger in the beginning. ❤
@@Lulu5771 Yes I’m sure, She had answered my similar comment; can’t blame her for keeping it under wraps at the beginning, she was wise to do so, ‘cause if it doesn’t work out, you’re stuck with followers asking for updates!🤦♀️😂🤨
Hello Karen and Roger, hope you are progressing well with the Reno's, I know you are getting ready for Roger to bring his inventory to your basement and I was thinking to make some extra room, I have a good idea for you to hang reachable clothing racks from the wooden rafters to give you floor space and remove the round racks that take up a lot of your walking space, you could also use space under the clothes for smaller bins. Just a thought. take care hang in there, kind regards Rita
Old Green Toolbox and Contents: that green was very popular in the 1950s and 60s, though the box may be older. That color began getting use to put a hand hammered textured finish on metal shop tools (table saws, drill presses, etc), among other things. Once it began appearing on shop tools, guys began putting it on many other items as well. I’ve always liked it. These days a product like Hammerite replicates it with either a paint brush or spray can. The tool you held up is a Stanley corner clamp, often used to glue up picture frames or cabinet door frames. They can be sold as singles or pairs, but a matching set of 4 does best, because a frame assembly can be done all at once if you have four. Otherwise the frame has to be done in multiple steps, which takes longer. I see 4 in the toolbox, but they look to be two different brands/models. I would suggest selling them as pairs separately, if they are not all Stanley models. Currently comps are about $10 - 14 a pair, plus shipping, on eBay. The box is great! 🙂
I think most greens are still very popular especially for vintage tool boxes. I pick them up for my antique booth and they sell really well. Even my own tool box is an old metal green one. I love it and will never sell it.
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you. I know it's so much easier & faster to shop & pull orders w/o filming. So, thank you for taking the time to do it
That old fashion teapot was darling, I think I would’ve picked that up. And I held out on an air fryer for the longest time, but I really do love it. Amazon sells disposable paper liners that make cleanup, really easy, and we use it a lot to heat up restaurant leftovers for lunch the next day!
I like to be able to see the little girl or little boy in each of us, it makes all of us a bit more interesting!!! It was easy, and delightful, to see the little boy and girl in you and Roger!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
Hello Karen, The Tommy Bahama Chair was sold at Costco for $99.99. It is selling for around $60ish. I hope you can sell it for a profit, you always seem to have good luck doing so.
Watching you get inventory from bins I remembered watching a video of resellers dumpster diving. They were finding a lot of good stuff in bins like yours. The were taking the stuff out and leaving the bins behind, lids and all. I kept yelling at them, "what are you doing? Just leave it in the bin. You can use those bins!" It drove me crazy. Just wanted to share.
Super score on that air fryer Karen. I actually made a porterhouse steak in ours about a month ago, I was shocked at how good it came out. You always get such great stuff, I love to see all of the treasures. Thank you for teaching me the new word of the month being - reticulated.
Wow, great finds all over the map. I love that you’re not afraid to step out of your comfort zone. I also love my air fryer. I recommend you get the liners to cook on easy clean up. My favorite is brussels sprouts and chicken wings.
I love using my air fryer.I bake frozen or canned biscuits, baked potatoes, hot dogs, chicken fingers, appetizes etc Things you wouldn't think about putting in the air fryer can be cooked in it.I think you will love yours (much faster and energy efficient instead of cutting on the oven.)

Love my air fryer! We use it daily. I make 8 at a time. Great snacks to have in the fridge. Hard boiled eggs. 260 degrees for 13 mins. Also Tyson chicken Strips, fried fish. Oh! And homemade meatballs cook well. 😊
Love the mother of pearl or capiz bowls! Love anything that reminds me of the ocean. In fact, I even have a few mermaid things. That gold picture was gorgeous and so glad you took the lovely green bud vase. The blue glass bowl vase is crackle glass look with thumb prints. So many adorable items you picked up/found, Karen. That's the same air fryer I have and LOVE it. I cook everything in it. So glad you bought the chair.
Hi Karen, I look forward to your videos each week. I enjoy watching and seeing what and why you select certain items. It's almost winter in Cape Town South Africa and that brown coat i loved🇿🇦❤️.
I love the old tool boxes. I went to a yard sale with my boss during work hours one time and he said buy whatever you want I picked the most beautiful vintage craftsman baby blue tool box and he ended up giving it to his wife. I remember admiring it and her living room and just thinking how that was The one thing I really liked and wanted from the sale but I felt like I couldn't say anything. One day I will find another appreciate it that much more!
I love your videos - my husband just hung some LED long lights that we got at Harbor freight - they are super bright and can be plugged in rather than hardwired. Your basement is similar to mine and now mine is super bright. They are super inexpensive to run and would add brightness to your videos/etc. Take care and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
I have that very air fryer. I love it, I bought a bigger one but don't use it as much as this little one. I make everything in it, chicken, bacon, biscuits everything!
Scale Factor: the Scale of an object (Scale Factor), such as the doll house hutch in your video, is often given as a Ratio rather then as a Fraction, though it can certainly be done either way. When the new object to be produced is smaller in size, you often see it done as a fraction, such as 1/16 size. But when the new object is to be larger (scaling up) like building an actual house from an architect’s display model, it’s often done as a Ratio and shown as 1:20. Sometimes I think choice of method may be made because many folks have trouble with fractions like 8/4, meaning the new object is twice as large or when the numbers begin to be vary large, like the model of an oil tanker is to be made into a real ship in a shipyard. Watch for the “ : “ to know when it’s done as a Ratio.
I love my air fryer. I use mine daily. I don’t own a toaster or toaster oven, and this will do the job of both. My son likes sliced, buttered and toasted Cuban bread. I throw the buttered slices in the bin a cook for 2 minutes. Comes out perfectly. It cooks frozen chicken wings and fries perfectly. I still prefer the oven for regular baking, though. I have not had success baking cookies in the air fryer. Also, I will often line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil to make clean up that much easier.
love your vids, and can't wait to see the addition and how you organize both of your items. I barely have space for my things:) I love my air fryer and love making chicken in it comes out juicy / I once found new pressure cooker , but now I'm afraid to try it :( because of all the horror stories !
M’y mom had a pressure cooker aluminum. You just need to be attentive so it does not boil too much and the steady pressure inside keeps up but not too much. It makes great food. Now, I have an Instant Pot and it’s even better, but the decompression is much slower than a regular pressure cooker.
Air fryer.... fries,, onion rings, reheat pizza, chicken nuggets ,fish sticks , mottzarella sticks, fried biscuit dough for mini doughnuts w p sugar or cinnamon
Use our air fryer ALL the time. I hardly turn on my oven any more and now I have an Instant pot so now I barely use my stove top. my poor pots and pans must think I have disappeared lol 😂
Large Vase Local Pick-up: a few years back I had a large Medical Rolling Cart listed with Local Pick-up and when it sold I messaged the Buyer asking when he’d like to come. He was 2200 miles away and just thought I’d ship it to him, though it was larger then the width of a pallet. Needless to say he didn’t arrive for it in 30 days and interestingly enough eBay didn’t require I Refund him. The entire event was a bit odd.
I'm obsessed with looking carefully through mugs now since I bought two Russell Wright Iroquois mugs for .25 a piece and sold them for $60! There are a few different colors.
I never get tired of watching you Karen...you are so lovely and now there is the added bonus of Roger too! I am learning such a lot from you both as well. I am not a reseller but I am de-cluttering my home and it is helpful to know what things may sell on Ebay and what I should ask as far as price goes. All the best to both of you from Jan in the UK.

I have not had success baking cookies in the air fryer. Also, I will often line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil to make clean up that much easier.
Salmon is amazing in an air fryer 12 minutes with some kind of Asian glaze.
I love the relax chair.😊 love your videos
love your vids, and can't wait to see the addition and how you organize both of your items.
Wow! This is the first video I have seen of yours. Great video
I think you do a wonderful job on everything. Love you and videos. Love Roger and you ❤
Air fryer.... fries,, onion rings, reheat pizza, chicken nuggets ,fish sticks , mottzarella sticks, fried biscuit dough for mini doughnuts w p sugar or cinnamon
Lovely old toolbox! Good find!
At 14:55 those are used to clamp th8ngs square for gluing.
Yes I love my air fryer. I like to make potatoes and veggies in it. My teenage granddaughter makes chicken nuggets and fries in it lol
