Just wanted to share our experience last year. We do not believe in "celebrating this day" either, so what we did was played the "Are You a Good Person" video on our garage door and handed out tracks only, mostly the BIG million dollar bill tracks, no candy, and all the kids (and parents) really liked it a lot, especially (surprisingly) the older kids. It was a great night!

Isnt this considered conforming to the world though? Im so confused. I just wonder if its ok or not? would Jesus trick or treat if it was around?
Nothing wrong with shining light onto darkness. Its not conforming its reaching. Jesus came for the sinners remember not the righteous Jesus probably wouldn't go trick or treating lol but he has commanded us to reach out to the trick or treaters.
Yes i totaly agree with both of you, but isnt the original pagan practices of pumpkins, and how the druids would go house to house. I dont know, maybe im wrong but God is holy, not like a church or priest holy, but HOLY. So i know the original was all Saints day and a form of mocking evil. Yet I wouldnt go out and dress like an ex drug addict to mock gangmembers.
Joe Hernandez If God can save me as someone who is inherently evil and filled with sin but cloth me in righteousness and use me for good than why cant he do the same with a date. He changed me and my purpose, he can do the same with halloween Think of how many people are hearing the Gospel on a day meant for evil because these guys are getting up and doing something creative. It may not be the perfect strategy but it is something. And if you are really honest then you will see that the motive of these men is pure and unshakable love for the unsaved, not to mock.
I see where your coming from brother, but what if we are wrong will God 4 give us? I feel bad not letting my son dress up,yet the scripture of the mil stone comes to my mind..
Isn't driving a car considered conforming to the world? Or eating fast food? Or voting for president?
I am sure Jesus would do all of these things if he was in modern times, and they are all part of the American culture, just like giving candy to kids on Halloween.

I don't need to give you evidence for anything because you can find that out by yourself. The truth of the matter is that Halloween has pagan origins. And God clearly told us not to associate with such things. Whether you want to celebrate Halloween or not is not up to me, I was simply pointing out my view on the subject.

We weren't celebrating Halloween. We were Taking Back October 31st. This was National Evangelism Day! My grandson, John, dressed up as Obama and handed out gospel tracts. No one refused a tract from the President. LOL! The gospel of Jesus Christ was shared, the children had a safe, fun, rewarding evening, and my grandchildren learned how easy it is to share their faith. It's a win win baby! I can't keep from shouting! Praise God!

Why not add the Lord to it? That's exactly what people need! Lord will overcome that evil holiday if we keep spreading his word!

Romans 13:8-10:
"Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."

It talks about us engaging with sinful cheerers and also doing their sinful deeds, the best we can do to help those who dwell on sin is to rebuke them and preach the truth to them, but not cherish their evil deeds for Halloween is also Paganism, don't you know the scripture Deuteronomy 18:9-14

Don't be like the pharisees of Jesus' day! When Jesus sat with prostitutes, tax collectors and other people, the so called religious people of that day condemned Him for doing so!

Reformation Day: The ONLY day of the year I can reach 100’s of people with the Gospel in about 3 hours who would probably never step foot in a church. Say what you want, the Gospel was given and preached.
Yeah, my happy face costume and love candies made it to the show!! COOL! Seriously, I would like to take this opportunity to share my testimony about Halloween. I use to be one of those christians who kept the light off on that special night until I had a revelation a few years ago that no matter what I do, think or say, Halloween will always exist no matter what, so I decided to take that great opportunity to share the gospel by putting a tract in the goody bag. WOW, think about it, people come to your door, we have to use our common sense and take this wonderful opportunity to share the gospel. If I have to use a "pagan holiday" to lead someone to the Lord then it's sooooooo worth it... saving souls, that's what it's all about!!!

There are many ways to witness, and authentic followers need to follow their conscience and witness as they are called. Beware the wolves that insist you must witness only the way THEY do. They are legalistic like the Pharisees. They are likely ashamed of the Gospel, and don't like that others are not, and are so willing to share the truth. They have critical spirits, and cannot see past the huge plank in their eye. They are so ashamed of the Gospel they even lie - and call witnessing a sin. They sin - while calling you a sinner for being obedient. That makes them hypocrites.
Who could ask for more than to have strangers come to your door? That tract, DVD, booklet, etc - may plant a seed that will have eternal consequences. Don't let the legalistic wolves hamper your efforts to live out the Great Commission. Instead of witnessing to others, they spend their time trying to stop you from witnessing. That is sin. Only one person wants the sharing of the Gospel to the lost to stop.

Do research about the rituals that take place through the month of October my friend we are called to be the salt of the world meaning different from the world but sadly in many Christians they're no conviction and won't take a stand and really live for Christ
Ok we need to understand something are action speak louder then words in this video we see a alternative way to celebrate Halloween. If we do research about Halloween they are Satanists who from the beginning of October fast and pray until the 31 aka trick or treat. Now on the 31 they make sacrifices to their God which are newborns,virgins and also pregnant women.so if you know this why is the church deceived?? Could it be they choose not to be truly transform. I'm writing this comment to reiterate many of the things I said in my comments on a post that were deleted by someone condemning Living Waters and everyone in this video.
To those of you complaining about the pumpkin carving and costumes:
Did not God create pumpkins? What specifically is evil about carving a Christian message into a pumpkin? Pumpkins are not a pagan creation; they are from God. What makes it pagan is what you do with it and why. Are you carving a grotesque face into a pumpkin because you believe it will ward of evil spirits? Pagan superstition. Are you carving a Bible verse into a pumpkin for lost people to see as they come to your door or drive by? Not a pagan superstition. The majority of the people dressed in costumes in this video were the trick-or-treaters. The few Christians that were dressed in costume, were things like "salt and light," a rainbow (with Genesis 9:13), and a happy face. What is so significantly evil about that? None of these Christians' costumes had anything to do with pagan superstitions.
Christians must make the distinction between outright sin and matters of the conscience; this is a matter of the conscience. If you can't carve a pumpkin, give out candy with Gospel tracts, or dress up in an innocent costume in good conscience, then don't. Absolutely listen to your conscience and spread the Gospel another way (Romans 14:23). However, you cannot condemn others for being able to do these things in good conscience. Manipulating others and imposing false guilt on them, is not okay.

If only the church was as passionate about spreading the Gospel as some are about condemning Halloween, Christmas, and Easter!
We already have an accuser that accuses us before God day and night (Revelation 12:10). The last thing someone who professes Christ should be, is an accuser the brethren just as satan is. I am all for righteous judgment of sin, but many get it twisted and use their own conscience or opinions to condemn and bind in chains those that are already free in Christ. It's okay if you do not want to do things the exact way they're done in this video, but legalism is a slippery slope with catastrophic consequences.

People, would Jesus do what was necessary to spread the gospel? Yes.
Would Jesus get drunk to share the gospel with drunkards?
Jesus is Unstoppable No, drunkenness is sin. He didn't sin... but He did command us to go into all the world to preach the Gospel. Someone comes to your door, will you give them a Gospel tract or tell them to go away? Handing someone a tract is not sin. In fact, witnessing is a command. Who is the better evangelist? The one sharing the Gospel or the one denying the opportunity to witness to people who come to your door? You don't have to dress up, you certainly don't have to take part in anything sinful, but handing out the truth because you care about people is not sin. Follow your conscience, but don't be legalistic and let pride dictate to others that they must witness to others only the way that YOU deem right. We follow our conscience and we follow the Great Commission ... if that offends you, then it is you that will answer for that one day ...
There is nothing sinful about handing out the Gospel to neighbours. In fact it is loving. If anything - refusing to live out the Great Commission would be sin.
M. Maclean so handing out tracts while encouraging and partaking in worldliness isn't hypocritical? Did Christ get drunk to reach the drunkards? no he didn't. He called people OUT of sin he didn't partake in it to reach them.
Jesus is Unstoppable Who said that handing someone the Gospel is "worldliness"? You make up your own laws? You compare witnessing to getting drunk? You are a liar if you call people sinners when they are witnessing. Put your pride down, get that plank out of your eye, and stop being a hypocrite. Answering your door, and helping a neighbour is not sin, and it is certainly not worldliness. It is commanded. You are blaspheming His Name when you misrepresent Him and His teaching.
