Spain has been blessed with some incredible players throughout the recent years!! Ferrer Moya Ferrero Verdasco Lopez Robredo Albert Costa Corretja Bruguera Bautista Agut and Almagro just to name a few!!
I beat Andre Agassi back in 1985 when we were both protégés of Nick Bolletieri. I was 5 years older and could hit the forehand harder than anyone in the world…but I quit to follow my dream of music. I never thought Andre had enough to become a grand slam champion yet alone the legend he became. He achieved this greatness by IMMENSE HARD WORK and intelligent advice from our beloved coach (rest in peace nick). So a big bravo to David back then for believing in himself enough to not give up. Massive achievement too. Thanks for sharing this video. May it inspire others too
Agassi really is crazy good... The way he takes the ball so early... I read a book on his childhood/life, it's insane how much tennis he played in his life, and his love/mostly hate relationship with tennis. Incredible comeback from Ferrer
yeah he had amazing energy for hitting the ball and accuracy also. Hope he didnt actually doped his whole career and only one tournament like he declared in that book
it really can be argued that he was the best of em. mcenroe likes to say over and over and over again and again like he has an agenda that it's djoker but it isn't so cut and dry.
Honestly for some time Ferrer was the number one after the big 3. He even said it on an interview. When asked if one day he could be the number 1 in the ranking he said "Yo soy el numero uno de los mortales". (Im the number one of the mortals)
Even though he wins this match David Ferrer would have to wait four more years before he'd crack the world's Top 10. Just imagine David Ferrer's heart and fighting spirit inside Nick Kyrgios's body... what a player that would be!!!
In maybe 2010's yes he played almost all cross court backhands. He started to play more down the lines at the end of his career though. Really shows his willingness to improve.
i am a nadal fan...but ferrer is the greatest clay court player ever.....everytime when ferrer wins a set he never lost the set.. RESPECT.....Everbody should watch again the first set from the french open 2014 against rafael nadal...that was ferrer in godmode....
Talking about turning points. That´s the beauty/ugliness of tennis (depending on wich side you are). Every tennis player, even club players have experienced that situation, on both sides.
If everyone came to the game in next gen w this mans work ethic there would be two or three slam winners from them already but they're all soft af between the head. Shapo is the most talented player I've seen since McEnroe yet cannot get out of his own way.
Everyone who plays sport hits a purple patch, where you play the best you can play plus 10%, the thing is, you don’t play like this ALL the time, that’s the difference between good and great players in any sport.
When I was a kid I had the highest admiration for offensive players such as Agassi and Kuerten. The traditional Spanish game style based on regularity never took my heart. Ferrer comes from the same tradition as Corretja and Bruguera. Then I learned that this kind of player is called “pusher” in the US. Sorry to his fans, I respect all of you, but I am not a fan of pushers.
Ferrer at his best can't carry Agassi's jock lmfao. Stupidest comment ever. Ferrer at his best was like Michael Chang. Agassi is a LEGEND and all time great. Agassi played the first 12 years of his career against Sampras and the last 9 years of his career against Federer and won 8 slams. Get a clue....Put the Big 3 in the 1990s/early 2000s against Sampras, Agassi, Edberg, Becker, Rafter, Safin etc and they would not win HALF the amount of slams they have
Ferrer always got his ass kicked by bull rafa, ferrer djokobitch weak champ roger too are not good enough to face a beast rafa, rafa is the best ever, vamos rafa

Crazy that I found a clay match in the 2000s where I could actually see the ball.
True dat
Lmao so true
LMAO!!
Well said
ball is very visible, even cf. to a current clay match. this vid has been processed somehow. overall brightness is low, light objects quite bright.

Happy 38th birthday David 🥳 What’s your favourite Ferrer match?
2012 Paris Masters final 😃
He’s 38 😱. Still younger than Federer though lol
Ferrer first 1000 series title. Can you maybe show more videos of him?
All!
VS Tipsarevic US Open 2012 i think. Or maybe vs Rafa in Rome 2013
Unbelievable to think that I was watching this match live back then. Nice memories! Happy Birthday, David Ferrer :-)
Ferrer was so underrated! Happy for this win, even though this is just a replay.
What a player! A very tough guy to beat.
Those returns from Agassi are insane !!!!

Bull shit. When. Not the quote, when he was number 1 after the big 3. Fucking when.

The BEST player without GrandSlam!!
That's Nalbandian.

Hell of a career, wrung every last ounce of potential he had. A good role model for up and coming players.
Weak era?Really?
Some of these players can destroy easily the actual next gen.Only people who don't see tennis in the 2000's can say that.
Upload, Roddick vs Coria and Agassi vs Nalbandian Masters Cup 2003, please.
It is actually weird to see Ferrer hit a few backhand down the line shots. In his later years on tour, he almost exclusively hit backhand cross court.
In maybe 2010's yes he played almost all cross court backhands. He started to play more down the lines at the end of his career though. Really shows his willingness to improve.
It's very nice to watch old matches
4:13 main point of the match
wow thanks for this! this is amazing!
Incredible camera work on some of these points...would like to see more of those angles in the future.
i know he lost, but Agassi was an amazing player. Big thumbs up for the court level shots as well 👍
I like Agassi's personality, how can you get this guy pissed is a mystery 😂
Take away his meth
And a star was born
Sort of. He needed to improve a whole after this win to get to top 10 for the first time though. All the hard work really paid off.
Always in Rome the best matches 😍
Every match should be showed with a court level camera, it's much better.
It's fine for a few points but a whole match would be nauseating
Earlier in the days I used to see him as very big threat to top players.and he did in some occasions.
He surely hit the ball WAY more down the line with his backhand earlier on. Guy goes cross court 99.5% of the time.
