- The Naval Academy Service Assignment Experience was surreal! This single day serves as the day when seniors at the US Naval Academy find out what job they will be doing for the duration of their Naval career. Will we be serving for 5 years or 10 years? Will we be going marine corp or surface warfare? Will we be in the oceans or in the sky? All of these questions are answered in a single day within a single moment. I am so blessed and thankful to JESUS for ever single one of my achievements and absolutely nothing without His provisions. Go Navy Beat Army!
If you didn't know, my name is Justin Chu and I am currently a senior studying Robotics and Control Engineering at the US Naval Academy. I currently play club water Polo at USNA and am looking into making new vlogs about my journey in college.

As a veteran USN 86-91 and spouse of retired US NAVY officer 86-2011, congratulations! Our 25 years of life on active duty was tough but we are proud of our service, saw the world and had 18 years of arduous sea duty but it is " not just a job..it's an adventure " ( old Slogan). We were stationed in Chinhae SK ..kamsamidan!!! God bless you and America 🇺🇸

I remember watching your videos over two-three years ago about 'a day in your life' as a freshman and then about when covid hit during your sophomore year and moving your stuff from storage to another dorm room. This moment is so surreal. I'm really happy for you and I want to thank you for sharing all of these moments with us. I got saved last year with no regrets! God is the best addition to my life, & I feel led to be a Naval aviator after high school. Then I’m going to retire, and join the Tennessee Highway Patrol, afterwards be a missionary for my church or preach for Faith Promise at the Pellissippi campus in Tennessee!

Wow, you have your head screwed on very straight. A soon-to-be engineering graduate...of a service academy...Christian (so presumably with no bad vices (illegal drugs, gambling, etc.)...and going into naval aviation....and getting married. What a fine young man.
Life will throw you (as it does to all of us) some lessons / problems. But you're off to a great start and I hope you have a long successful time of it.... You're a very impressive young man.

Man I’m happy for you! I remember watching your videos a couple years ago for the first time, about being a freshman at the USNA. Now you’re about to graduate and start leading your sailors! It’s not easy you’ll see and live through a lot of difficult situations. It’s important to stay focused on God and pray for guidance. I’ve seen a lot of things in my few years of service, but will always cherish the privilege and blessings that it has been. I pray that it will be a blessing for you and you’ll enjoy the privilege of serving (even when it doesn’t feel like a privilege)! God bless you and may he guide you on this journey.

What an exciting day! My dad served in the Navy during WWII going in as a 17 year old. My husband was also in the Navy serving on a nuclear sub and teaching reactor theory. Great times!

Dear Justin, I know you don't know me, but believe me when I say attending a Service Academy has been the goal since sophomore year of high school. Today I am thrilled to inform you that my USNA and USAFA summer seminar applications have been accepted by both (still waiting to hear back from Army haha). Though my heart lies in West Point, I wish you the best of luck for your future. Current High School Junior from Texas, aspiring for a spot at West Point or Naval Academy :)

Congratulations Justin! All that hard work of 4 years paid off! Currently I'm in my sophomore year, aspiring to enroll in USNA (if I get accepted). Do you have any tips on receiving a naval aviator spot (or becoming a naval aviator) in the academy?
If you want to become a naval aviator go through OCS. You only get one shot at a pilot slot through the academy and ROTC. On the other hand you get can at least two chances through OCS.
Lol this showed up on my recommendation. Congrats on getting pilot! Pensacola's a great time, but there's a HUGE backload of students waiting to class up right now based on what I'm hearing. Up to a year, I think? Best of luck, and don't get NAMI whammy'd!

It’s called fighter pilot school. They will train him to fly. And if he is real good he can go to Top Gun.

I personally volunteered at the children's ministry at my church but any boys and girls club is a good place to start.
