- Follow me into an exclusive look into what plebes have to go through during plebe summer. Plebe summer is the "boot camp" phase at the Naval Academy where freshmen make their first induction into the Brigade of Midshimen.
If you didn't know, my name is Justin Chu and I am currently a sophomore studying Robotics and Control Engineering at the US Naval Academy. I currently play Division 1 Water Polo at USNA and am looking into making new vlogs about my journey in college.

In 1976 , I was in United States Army as a WAC! Ft. Jackson S.C. N.G. , NCO school, then 1979 went in Active Duty. BEST TIME OF MY LIFE! I was PFC , SP4-SP5 ( was up for SP6) active duty went PVT one rank below , the rank you were last on active duty. Sour 💊. As FYI learn the people under you. Before you jump on someone, they might now more than you now. One captain, 2 SFC LEARNED THE HARD WAY.😊. YES SP4 that learns and uses the open door, bites back harder. Capt. on carpet 2x … SFC’s loss one rank and removal from post.😊
This seems so fun! Im either going to VMI in Virginia or USNA. I have a letter of recommendation from a general in the army for going to VMI so I might go their for better odds. What do you think?

JC is the training to get th3 future navy soldiers prepared for service and they need the training for the physical part of this service

Looks like you midshipmen have it easy! USMA 1988 grad here. Interesting that you did live fire training with pistols -- not once did I get to use one as a cadet (everything small arms were rifle, machine gun, or grenade launcher).

How old is this video? Why sometimes the plebes wore masks and other times they don’t? What trainings do plebes required and allowed to participate? USAFA have very cool and useful programs.
I'm currently a freshman in high school and have been looking to get into the Naval Academy for years now. Currently, I maintain pretty good grades and take all honors classes along with one AP course. I'm involved in student government, I play an instrument, and I play JV baseball and wrestling. I know the importance of checking the boxes off early, so I'm looking for any suggestions to get ahead before applying.

Are the plebes already in the school? Or is this the test where only 8% actually make it? If all these people are already in when is the test where they cut 92%? Love the videos, very interested, and would love to meet you in two years when I make it into the school!
Your statistic is off. Plebe summer is THE TEST when all freshmen are tested. About 100 people quit I’d say throughout the boot camp phase. Less than 10%

Question, so I’m currently working at Navy OCS and there’s a program here called NAPS. What exactly is it?
It's the Naval Academy Preparatory School. You spend a year there and go straight into the Academy after

yes you can
Is it difficult to get an expert medal?
Is it mandatory to get the Marksmanship Ribbon?
No nothing is mandatory. It is pretty difficult if your first time.
