So, David, you publishing content about this game will be most useful ! :)
youtube reccomendations getting good again. this is incredibly high quality; very good work, kept me on the edge of my seat till the end.
Honestly the best part is how upbeat and happy you are. I’m not good either but to see you confidently walk up to a game you figured you’d already lost was kinda funny and underdog story at the same time
I didn't see anyone else capture Heather clapping for Joseph's finals victory like you did at 45:50, so thanks for that. Heather and Jonas really are a couple that just love games :)
Heather and Jonas are class acts
thank you so much. your ctwc explained video was my introduction to the wonderful world of the classic tetris tournaments. after watching for 2 years now i'm picking up the game for myself now. keep creating please.
This is by far my favorite video on UA-cam right now, amazing job
The production quality was so high and honestly waiting a year was worth it :O
I loved the player introductions and the well explained stuff, as well as unseen footage of the event, everything was just amazing - you included so much stuff I had watched multiple times and still explained it better than I understood
Good luck next week, hope you qualify :)
Not the first time I watch this video, and it still makes me both laugh & cry, and I don’t even play NES Tetris.
Hahaha I love the drawing of me! I'm still watching so I may leave another comment later.
Seriously, holy shit, what a good video. I've only very recently gotten into NES Tetris (like maybe a year or 2 ago) and it has been such a life changing hobby. Meeting so many new, interesting, and funny people have been a life changing experience.
Really good video! Everyone within this community feels like they're your best friend, no toxicity. Definitely the friendliest and competitive community out there.
Joseph Saelee was the perfect person to pass the torch to. He is all heart. Jonas saw that immediately.
This is one of the best videos on a sport that I've ever watched. Keep it up Scout!
Great video! Almost an hour of my life well spent.
Thank you!
You consistently spoke about others with so much kindness, even while you were competing against them. I respect that a lot. Great video!
I watched your video explaining tetris last week and since then I watched couple of tetris matches every day. Was wondering when you will post another video and here we go ...😄
You have great talent of making videos/documentaries and would be great commentator of main event, I'm sure of that. Keep up passion and good work man!
Thank you so much!
dude this is super interesting, great job making this!
This documentary was SO GOOD!!! 8 mins in, I new this hour was gonna fly by!😁
What a ride this video took me on. It was like witnessing a greatly written tournament arc, except in real-life! Honestly one of my favorite vids on youtube. Makes me feel like trying out Tetris too.
I had only seen the last video a couple of days ago, so I didn’t have to wait about a year
haha nice!
Same
I only realised the video was 50+ minutes long after finishing it wow! I only found out about the tetris tournament tonight thanks to your videos, really hope I can get to watch the tournament live next year!
Wait what that was really an hour?? Felt like 20 minutes. Well done!!
Omg what an amazing video ! never expected it will be that good, thanks for taking time making it
Imagine the conversation he had on the plane. "So what brings you to Oregon, business trip?" "Nah, Tetris."
This is a sweet video, and I really appreciate you drawing scenes you couldn't capture with a camera, to give a visual to the stories you are telling, but man some of those drawings are horrifying. Like the picture at 15:44 - that stuff will haunt me in my dreams.
If wasn't for the Joker, this would be the best video for 2019!!! Thanks for all the hard work. Can't wait to see the new videos! Sorry for my bad english!! Haha
Great Recap of the CTWC 2018 and this year's Classic Tetris! All the way from Argentina, We are going to be there at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo this year! Excited to be there to see all this live. Thanks for your incredible work on your videos!
Very informative and well put together video! Good luck at the 2019 tournament!!
Subbed you're amazing. Ive been following tetris since 2015. So glad to be part of this. Even from afar in the uk.
RIP Jonas Neubauer.
:(
F
Man, You are one of the most inspiring people in my life right now, you are a legend in my book
Keep on pushing, you truly are amazing
Have a good day
so well put together!! great job.
pp
This is such a great video; gave me chills throughout its entirety! Super well edited and very informative of the experience of actually being and participating in the event. 2019 CTWC is going to be insane! Looking forward to your next videos
That face Joseph made. That will be a moment he will remember forever. I hope he remembers:)
Man, what a great video. Informative, entertaining and it transports the energy and euphoria just right! Thank you very much
Great video man! See you next weekend :)
You are an exceptionally good storyteller and video creator. This was the best 53 minute video I've watched on UA-cam haha. Thank you so much for making it and I'll gladly watch all the next ones!
I thought this was shorter and I’ve sat here an entire hour because this was interesting
Really enjoyed this video, I only starting watching the CTWC last year and I'm hooked.
Man, I can't wait till Friday.
This is purely fantastic. I watched the CTWC but you made it better. I love the background and didnt get the BUCCO joke from Quaid.
I am super excited about these more frequent vids
I knew absolutely nothing about competitive tetris before I watched this video, but you did an INCREDIBLE job sharing this information in an accessible way and this was an absolutely amazing video! Thank you for your work!
Extremely underrated video.
As a game developer, I stumbled into your vids. Have loosely followed the journeys of Jonas, Koryan, and Joseph over the past few years. This was a solid vid and a fun watch, thank you! :)
It's always "BOOM Tetris for Jonas" in my mind.
thank u so much for creating this video!
i've been watching the championships for some years and its so great to see everything like that in an hour, it was beautiful! :)
This thumbnail though, Mortal Kombatesque
One of the best documentaries about a video game tournament that I have ever seen. You've done a lot with very little.
Did not know the Tetris skill ceiling was this high
Scout, you have an incredible talent. Throughout this video (really, your whole channel) you perfectly relate what it's like to watch the CTWC as someone who's followed the scene for years. It's always hard to jump into watching a sport, even if you're familiar with the game. Last year I watched the top 8 live for the fist time. But after seeing this video? I'm excited to watch the whole competition, qualifiers to grand finals! I'm honestly going to take notes from your videos so I can follow the top players and interesting stories. I cannot wait to see more from you.
these are the people i keep getting matched against in tetris 99
Thank you for this piece of art! Love content like this and I will always try to support people who are invested in making their community a better place.
I’ve watched this video over 80000 times
Man I remember this video appearing on my recommended right after watching the BOOM tetris for Jeff video and decided to give NES tetris a go. Finally got an NES and started playing a few weeks ago, still only getting 200k lvl 18 start as I'm on my last year of university so I dont's have that much time to practice and watching 2020´s CTWC makes me feel like such a bad player haha but I still love it and specially how welcoming and supportive the community is, thank you David for getting me into this. Also, love your videos man, definetely keep it up, looking forward to 2019´s CTWC video!
i dont follow these kinds of things but damn this was as dramatic as a sports anime gahhhh
I'm actually so freakin' happy right now to have seen this video
You are a wonderful person
