    I have a (discontinued) 6" TRP Operator. When I got the gun, it had a 5 lb trigger. I had a trigger job done, now it's down to 3 lb. With the weapon light on, it's pretty heavy, but that helps mitigate the recoil from the 10mm rounds I shoot. I'm glad I bought it. Haven't had any feed issues with FMJ or JHP, including Sig and Speer Gold Dot.

    I really enjoyed your review I decided to subscribe and can’t thank you enough for making this video I been eye balling this gun since I found out about but I’ve decided to get It in 45 ACP (Muh Stopping Power). I came from the post you made in the 1911 group on Facebook 🤙🏼

    I have the predecessor, the Range Officer Elite in 9 mm. After a couple hundred break in rounds and some recoil spring weight experimentation it runs flawlessly and is a very accurate pistol.

      I’m about 15,000 rounds into this one, and it just keeps getting BETTER. I’m regretting all the years I tried to perform well with Sigs and HK’s, and any other polymer framed striker guns.

    Great review thanks. Would have liked to see the groupings you were shooting.

    Great review. How much does the weapon light reduce recoil?

    Yes I would love to know what holster you're running with that

    Hows the weight. Is it heavy?

    How is feeding with hollow point ammunition? Do you have a preferred brand that runs well with this gun?

    • @redhawkfirearmtraining

      It runs Federal HST 147, Sig V Crown 147, and Speer Gold Dot with zero issues. Federal Premium HST 147 is my preferred carry ammunition.

    How's the recoil these compared to a 2011/1911 DS?

    Is it just me or does the Cod 4 “M1911.45” look heavily inspired by this model?

    Doesn't bother you that it's full of MIM parts?

    • @redhawkfirearmtraining
      @redhawkfirearmtraining  8 місяців тому +10

      Not one single bit. Check out the amazing Joe Chambers of Chambers Customs on the Primary & Secondary podcast talking about how MIM parts are actually becoming extremely good. Also, every part can be and eventually will need to be replaced.

      Wilson combat is also full of MIM unless you order it built with his “ bullet proof” parts at even a higher price. I’ve been building and smithing for years, as well as training others. We fire thousands of rounds ( government supplies so why not) and I’ve only ever had a forged slide stop break. On my builds I only use forged, however so far haven’t had to replace any MIM on my others.

      Tisas 1911’s come with all forged parts

      As opposed to whole frames made out of injected polymers?
      Ive shot over 100,000 rounds through 1911s. Two broken parts, both safeties, one a Sig Sauer and the other a Kimber.
      I was principle armorer for my LE agency. Ive seen cracked Glock slides, torn out rail tabs, broken pins, and guns so chewed up by seatbelt shackles, center consoles, etc that they were unserviceable .
      MIM is just an industrial manufacturing process. If it didnt work or work well then it wouldnt be used.

    flash light on firearm? Looks sexy but is a violation of rule #2 and a dangerous one at that..

    • @redhawkfirearmtraining
      @redhawkfirearmtraining  7 місяців тому +11

      1. Have a handheld flashlight.
      2. Use that handheld flashlight for searching and identifying.
      3. When a threat is clear, use the weapon light.
      Not a violation of rule 2 in any way, ever.
      I don’t carry a gun without a weaponlight.

      Light on a pistol…..what’s the problem? It frees up the non shooting hand with a light when needed…been mil for almost 20 years, lights on weapons work…go back to coloring.

    • @WhiskeySavage-pn4lm

      Why is that a violation? Please enlighten us?

    • @rimfirejunkie7427

      @@WhiskeySavage-pn4lm the unwashed masses will use the light to 'search', thus pointing a firearm at some unidentified person while identifying them, family or foe.

      That’s why you don’t do admin searches with a weapon light. I’m a cop. When I’m out directing traffic or looking for a lost kid, I use my handheld light. But when you’re clearing a building looking for someone you’re gonna be guns up anyway and it’s nice to have both hands on the gun instead of messing with a flashlight. You open a lot of doors clearing a house and if you don’t have a weapon light you can’t immediately identify and engage targets with one hand if the lights are out. Just some food for thought. We used to not have weapon lights and now we do. I think it’s a big benefit.
