Yes I mean I still mainly listen to music around the 80s because I absolutely love that area so much. Loads of iconic musicians, technology and music came out of it. Wish I could have been there 😂😐
not gonna lie, teared up during the Vangelis tribute. the only man I miss dearly but never knew or met, his presence through his music was so so powerful.
Even Now after year of passing of Vangelis, YES one can still teared up, Very sad that all the good people seems go!! Died: 17 May 2022, Paris, France R.I.P Vangelis We still Love you where ever you are and your music will still live on......................
Nearly 45 minutes I didn't move, mouth open, cold shivers running down my back... 🤤I'll start making music again right now. Doctor Mix = Life changing experience. Boooom!
Doctor Mix you have no idea, no idea how very fantastic this video was. So full of energy, great audio ideas and execution. Also full credit to you/your video editors as that must have taken ages to compile even after watching the submissions. Obviously a work of dedication, I award you an afternoon off in the garden with a chilled bottle of bubbles. Maybe a little background music as well. Thank you C & co. 🥂👍
I was going to bed … the best 45 min of the month !!!! Back to the basement after this incredible moment … thanks to you doctor and to all contributors
Claudio, your vlogs definitely affect people and inspire them. Even though i can't play a lick, im tapping my feet and smiling ear to ear!! I wish i had 1/8th the talent of any of these entries. Thank you and your team for continuing to lead and inspire others. God bless all those who read this and keep working to be of service to others! Also, those who posted to the 80s in under 80, fantastic job!!! Brought back many great memories.
Thank you so much @DoctorMix for this powerful and very lovely challenge ❤ I love your music. also a big thank to everyone who took part, it was very cool! I wish you all good luck and inspiration in music! I love all
When I saw the 2 twin rockets land, in the montage, I knew I was among friends. I salute you, Ronald McNair. Your saxophone can be heard in every corner of the universe forever.
Loved the tribute to Vangelis. I aspire to think up music like he did, and to have the gear that made such sweet sounds in his creations, and the imagination to use it properly.
Always been a guitar player but the eighties made me acquire lots of synths as I just loved the sounds. Now 60, kids left home and determined to get a synth den for them all to play in. This whole channel is a massive inspiration. Thank you !
Dont you think this guy is a twat? watch the video again and look at the keyboards the winners just happen to be playing. They are all Rolands latest model. This is a marketting campaign pretending to be a competition. Unless all the winners just happened to buy the same brand new keyboard
This challenge was SO much fun to do, and I especially enjoying listening to how others built their songs. There is just so much talent out there, and thank you Dr. Mix for this challenge. Looking forward to the next one.
I had such a great time watching the entire video with the revived sounds of the 80s! It truly transported me back in time, and I didn't get bored for a second. Such a fun and enjoyable content, well done Dr. Mix.All talented musicians from all over the world, you were all amazing❤
" Contests are for horses, not for artists" , you know what, this is the best words i've heard this past months. In fact I hate when someone organize à competition to see "WHO IS THE BEST ? " , and guess what ? he thinks himself as a perfect musician to say who is the best.... a$$hoIe ! But what you did is respectful with all of us, WE ALL LOVE MUSIC and synths, everyone of us is an artist, we do our best to share love thru music Thousands THANKS Claudio... WE LOVE YOU sooooooo much
I didn't dare enter as I assumed you would have 1,000s of entries from musicians who knock out '80s classics for breakfast while I sit here half blind thanks to my strokes trying to get my 22-year-old Evolution "master" MIDI keyboard and my Jupiter 8 VST working in Cubase, both of which I haven't used in over a year. If there were only 100 entries I should have gone for it!!! Oh well, maybe next time eh 😂🤪😜 Personally, I think the guy @16:00 with all that classic gear deserves a medal, just for holding on to all that CLASSIC and INCREDIBLE gear from over 40 years ago - what a LEGEND he is, and how the hell has he got both a Jupiter 8 AND a CS-80!!!! Respect to him, superb stuff 🤟🤟🤟
Thanks for the nice compliment - I do feel a bit guilty versus the other ones…I didn’t get the part of the 80 sec…just jumped into it when I read ‘80-iets’. Txxs @DoctorMix for including me anyway!
@@josesvintagekeys You're very welcome! And please, there's no need to feel guilty. Recognizing your work doesn't take away from others' accomplishments. Everyone's journey and contribution are unique and worthy of acknowledgement.
Claudio, proof that music really is the international (universal) language. you are responsible for this marvelous phenomenon. I felt your emotion for Vangelis, which was my trigger in 1975, for daring to create music, the greatest happiness of my life. I hope you continue to make us love and produce, despite everything, music to beautify the world. Thanks Claudio L-O-V
I'm completely amazed in the Vangalis Tribute Segment in the video. It was quite amazing to see you slightly worked up in seeing the synthesizers that the compose used. You acted like you we're seeing old friends that you haven't seen in a long time. Enjoy the video.. Keep up the great work that you're doing.😊
The Vangelis one really hit home. I've been loving his music for such a long time and only recently I found out that he passed away. That saddened me so much. 😢 Vangelis was a demigod walking among humans. Humanity will miss him for all eternity. Such an immense loss.
And this makes me laugh at all the bickering idiots who keep complaining about Roland not making analogs anymore and how the digital versions are crap. 😅
Super inspiring to see what everyone has done. The positive energy is infectious. The clip of Vangelis following that remarkably luscious cover may have brought a tear to my eye as well. Lovely stuff.
Hello Claudio. I want to congratulate you, not only for this last beautiful initiative, but for all the work you do on your UA-cam channel. Certainly you (and your sponsors 😉) can be satisfied with the success of your initiatives. But I want to say that your credit goes beyond that. In fact, in my opinion, you contribute to connecting people around the world (even in Italy !) people who are passionate about electronic keyboards, a kind of exceptional instrument, but which usually doesn't give much visibility to those who play it. Continuing as you are doing, I think you could really become the soul of a community of musicians who could finally "find a home", get to know each other, and, who knows, participate in live events in the future, in countries where there are more - of course we need that you will organize those live events 🤩. Thank you! - Daniele Roffy from Italy
Already watched many of the fabulously inspired videos! Outstanding!! We need more of this positive vibe extending to the community! Absolutely fantastic. 'You are such and inspiration. mentor and naturally gifted musician!! Who knows where this will end!! 😍❤💪😎☝🎹🎶🎵 You are the Pied Piper of happiness, great music and good times! Long me you reign! 😎👍❤

And I'm still truely impressed and full of awe in front of so much talent and dedication. Thanks Claudio! If I remember well, this video made me following your channel...
Bravo! I have really enjoyed following all of these videos. Well done everyone! Thanks for doing this Dr. Mix! Please make this a regular or annual thing. I might even participate in the future. 🎹
OK I finished watching. This is just AWESOME, everyone did so well! How can I give this video ten likes? :D As a teenager of the 1980s (15 in 1980, an original Numan fan), I had such a blast watching it. Many thanks to everyone who contributed, you were amazing!
Amazingly how so many of these involved the flagship Fantom. Roland really made incredible instruments. Of course they weren't the only company doing it but what a legacy they have
Vangelis part (18:00) brought tears to my eyes! May he rest in peace!
Yeah. Kind of a downer for what is supposed to be an upbeat youtube video.
1980’s definitely the most diverse era for music creation. We will never see the like again. So glad I was in my teens and twenties during the 80’s.
I think the 70's were more diverse, but regardless we are very lucky that we can look back at such great music.
i think the 70s were more evolutionary and the 80s had a more established set of styles...the styles evolved in the 70s and diversified in the 80s
Yes I mean I still mainly listen to music around the 80s because I absolutely love that area so much. Loads of iconic musicians, technology and music came out of it. Wish I could have been there 😂😐
What? LOL
1000% agreed
He got the planet rock voice FX down!! Well done that man
He killed it
Thank you very much! To me it sounded like a very wet delay with a very short delay time and a high feedback setting, so that’s what I made. 🎛️
That planet rock was awesome 👍👍👍👍👍

That Vangelis track brought me to tears. Extremely well done!
"The Bounty" by Vangelis is absolutely sublime.
That kid is The Bomb! Seriously, you MUST make a colab video with him! 😍

Probably my favorite creator Gattobus. Been listening to his covers for YEARS. I always come back to them.
The greatest 80s night of all time 🍺🍺🍺🔥🔥🔥
This should become an annual event 👍 not one missed target 👏👏👏👏
it just hits ya after listening to all this ,how rich the sounds of the 80s music are ...
80s FOREVER!!!! And thank you for promoting all your fellow musicians!!!!
Got goosebumps with the Terminator track! ❤
Time to rock with the 90’s!!!!!!
God, I am smiling right now !
This is what music should be about, making people happy.

1. Turn on a DX7
2. Select ANY preset.
3. Play a 7th or 9th chords
4. Done under 10 seconds.
Not a CHALLENGE but a JAM SESSION!! Absolutely loved this!
more of an advert for the Phantom I think tbh...

The Amount of Talent in this video is incredible!
Seriously, you guys ALL ROCK!! I know this sounds naïve, but I didn't realize that there was so much synth in all of those songs.
Outstanding musicianship across the board.
Jose Evers 💖💖💖 knocked it out of the park. Everyone else did an amazing job. 😁

Doctor Mix yet again saving the world with the use of a synth. Can't get enough of your vids!!! Greetings from Scandinavia
To be honest, this is the best video ever. So many emotions, so many cool guys with passion to music, to 80s, to old gear. Brilliant video.
Absolutely fab jam session!!!!!......I am very impressed by the majority of the performances!!!

Dude you know souls come and go a few life cycles and have interim places they wait called the 2nd heaven. Vangelis is now in the 2nd heaven.

Yeah, Falco! That brings me back. I just had to go and check it out after 40 years.
