HOYA TOUR | 40+ Hoyas From My Collection |
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 гру 2024
- Hello plant friends! I hope you are all doing okay during these times. I decided to make a new video for you showing all my hoyas. I did realize only after the video one hoya is missing - Hoya globulosa. It's still a cutting and kind of a rescue. It's from the same batch that my Hoya kerrii is from and cuttings arrived half-rotten then. I will make sure to show it to you in one of my future videos. Sorry! I hope you will enjoy this tour and hey, who knows? Maybe you will find a hoya that you like as well!
_____________
I didn't type the names in the video like I usually do since there is not enough time between each plant. Instead, I typed the names here. The names are written down in the order I mention the plants. I didn't write down plants that I mention twice or that are duplicates.

A great collection of hoyas. So many varieties I haven't heard of before. Really enjoyed seeing your collection.
That is good to hear! I also always find new hoyas that are pretty & I never heard of them before. There are so many hoyas out there!
Beautiful Hoya collection! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching despite the bad sound in that video ;)
Gorgeous hoya collection!! Thank you so much for sharing!
EVTD79 Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Beautiful collection, very informative and zen video. I enjoy you channel very much. Lep pozdrav iz Slovenije!
Thank you! Puno pozdrava! :)
I absolutely love the hoyas with little leaves. Absolutely adorable
Oh, I am getting hooked on those as well. You are bound to run out of space for those hoyas with big leaves. But you will always have space for the small ones.... right?
@@BasiePlants absolutely
I will always make room for them hoyas. I wish I could get a collection like yours
I, love all your Hoya collections .❤️
I enjoyed your hoya collection , hoyas are one of my favourite plants ,so beautiful .TFS.
Sally Smith Thank you! I am happy to hear you like the collection. I love hoyas as well, they're my favorite, so I am happy for all the love they're getting atm. What's your favorite hoya?
@@BasiePlants l don't think that l could pick just one hoya as a favourite....l just love them all .
Sally Smith I totally understand you :D All of them have something special about them.
Your collections are amazingly beautiful.....
Thank you 💚
Fun video. Thank you for sharing your collection/story.
I am happy if you enjoyed it :)
Your collection is beautiful! I just found your channel a few days ago and I am obsessed with all your Hoya videos 😀
Oh, I am so happy you like the collection! It has grown since and it's more beautiful now! I hope you are enjoying the hoya madness! 🤪
Wow amazing and so interesting!!
Hey! Great video. Thanks for sharing your collection. As for video ideas: I'd love any update video on Hoya's, or insight into how you've set up your grow room! :) Did you share your Hoya wishlist somewhere? I'd be glad to see if I have a cutting for any of them.
Pieter de Leeuw Thank you! I am glad you liked the video ☺️ There will definitely be a hoya update videos, repotting videos and more! I didn't share my wishlist anywhere but I will soon make a video about that as well :)
I'm very interested in your shelving set up. Distances from walls, lights, windows, each other. Love to see a long range view sometime.
There is a video on my set up but I will continue to make updates :)
I love Hoyas and so I subscribed. However, here is our problem! You are very soft-spoken and I am old and deaf, and even with my phone turned up all the way oh, I could just barely hear you. Please keep this in mind for future videos. But your collection is absolutely gorgeous and I am just drooling right now!
Thank you for subscribing! Oh no! I am sorry you had issues hearing the video. I will make sure to turn up the volume of the mic. Thank you for that useful feedback! :)
My Crinsom Princess has leaves that are kind of deformed looking. Would you have an idea as to the reason? Like your collection. Will see if you have a video examining your partial hydro system. Those marble things interest me. Thanks for any information on the leaves!!!
I do have a video where I talk more about semi-hydro. I will make new videos about it as well. Hoyas sometimes put out deformed leaves, especially if something was in their way when growing a new leaf (like the side of a pot). Or if you touch new leaves when they grow, you might damage them a bit so they come out looking deformed. It could be a pest thing too. That all said, sometimes they just turn out looking a bit... weird. No reason at all 😂
Omg. You have such an amazing collection of hoyas. I wish mine was like yours. I have a few varieties but I want many more but they are hard to come by. I would love to see more videos! Maybe a care tip on hoyas video
The collection has doubled now, but there are so many lovely ones I want to get. I hope you can find more as well! They are difficult to come by here as well and almost all of mine are imported. I do have some hoya care tips and 30 days of hoya but I do plan to make more hoya videos of course. :)
I love your hoya collection. Thank you so much for sharing and I'm also enjoying your 30 days of Hoyas. From 🇦🇺
I am very happy to hear you like it! There are more Hoyas now so I will definitely have to do a better tour at the end of summer. Thank you so much for watching 💚
@@BasiePlants Oh I'm looking forward to an update! ❤❤❤
Love your collection, but I'm wondering where you got the trays your using to set your plants on.
Ikea! :D They are supposed to be used for shoes :)
Great Hoya Collection 👍
Thank you! There are more Hoyas now. I will make an update towards the fall. :)
Gorgeous Hoyas! I love your voice as well. Great video :)
Thank you so much! I never expected people would say they like my voice, haha :D
What a lovely collection!
Thank you. :) There are more Hoyas now - I will make an update at the end of summer (when I possibly get some more! )
Lovely collection! Where do you get your white plastic trellis'?
In a local store that sells products made out of plastic - pots, trellises, toys, cups, etc. :)
! I just subscribed to your channel! I love your Hoyas and thank you thank you thank you for the list of the names of them. There were so many that you named and I was trying to figure out how to spell them and I checked out underneath your video what you had written and was happy happy happy to find out that you wrote the names down. There's a nursery in Florida that I can order voices from and she can get some in if we have a wishlist. The name of the nursery is Christina's tropical & exotic plants. They have a Facebook page and people have all so posted videos of going to there Nursery. They have an amazing selection of plant and they will mail plants. I bought a rare philodendron from them along with a crimson Queen a Hindu rope a reverse variegated kerri... another place I've got a couple Hoyas was a nursery called Almost Eden in Louisiana. I got one that was called a golden Hoya and it looks a lot like a crimson princess but it has a lot more yellow on it I also got a variegated Hindu rope from them. Maybe you could do a video on where's a good place to buy Hoyas where they will mail them
Kathleen Murphy Oh, perhaps I should have said something in the beginnig about names being in the description 😅 Sorry! I thought it would be easier that way than to have names fly all over the screens since I quickly went over them. It seems you have some very nice options! That's a good idea for a video! It's a bit difficult for me to get hoyas, so I mostly order from one collector. However I do know of places in Europe and Asia that offer hoyas. I just might need to research US situation a bit more :)
Kathleen Murphy Also, thank you for subscribing 💚
What a beautiful collection 👍
Thank you :D I am looking forward to growing them out and of course getting many more hoyas 😂 Because, why stop? 🤪
Felt like a Hoya Collection video and came back to this one. Your collection has come a long way 😅. Do you even still bother with commoners like Australis and Pubicalyx? Or have you gotten rid of them 👀 What are the chances of you filming an updated hoya collection video sometime soon? 👀
Beautiful Hoyas 😍!! I am in the process of adding lights to my Hoya shelves!
Thank you!
Great video, you have a soothing voice to listen to
Thank you so much, that is a very nice thing to hear :)
Love love love your collection! Such beautiful hoyas 😍
Oh, I think I will have to make a video update. I was not good this year. Got more hoyas 🙈
Basie Plants ummm yessss please do an updated one. Maybe like a “All the Hoyas I’ve gotten since my last Hoya tour” type video 😂
@@HelloJungleRoom I think I will highlight the new ones :)
Awesome collection!! I think i found some new hoyas i want now because of your video so thank you! 😁
I am so happy to hear that! Which are your favorite?
@@BasiePlantsall the spelling is wrong but the afinis png6? i gotta look more into that one..marilii ..that pink splash acuta...a few more i gotta rewatch your vid when im on my next buy binge lol
@@TheSweetgurliee Haha :D Yes, chuniana PNG 6 has very cool leaves! Ugh, I hope my merrillii grows fast soon! I am dying to see those leaves blush up a bit under the light :)
Beautiful hoya collection :) Thank you for making this video. Enjoyed it :)
Thank you! I am so happy to hear that you did :) Hopefully I will be adding some new hoyas to it soon :D
I've been looking absolutely EVERYWHERE for a hoya australis lisa! everywhere i look they seem to be ridiculously priced for a small cutting! any recommendations as to where to get one?
That depends where you live. H. australis 'Lisa' was available in a local flower shop here once. However, I didn't get the big one from the flower shop (bad timing) but I got a small cutting from a lady who resells plants (buys them in flower shop, divides and resells). I know that Uhlig Kakteen sells hoyas for a reasonable price. They are in Germany and they ship through EU. There is also Plantanica in Sweden.
Beautiful Hoyas! I also have the problem with Hoyas vining around everything they are not supposed to. How/when do you untangle them?
Oh, very slowly. I try not to damage new growth and I try to do it before they get up in everything. But it's definitely a challenge! Also, keeping new vines up once you untangle them and re-trellis them is important.
Love this video. Can you talk about the lecas that you’re using? Do you mix anything else with it? How often do you clean them and how often do you water your Hoyas? Thank you
I just use Plagron LECA. Sometimes I will mix in LECA of lesser quality (secretly I call it crap LECA 😂) especially for plants that are very resilient and can take anything. I keep the reservoir full, most of the time, and then I water my hoyas in organic mix once a week (or more, if they are just in bark). It depends on the condtions and the mix. :)
@@BasiePlants thanks for the reply. I will do that.
This is amazing, so many beautiful hoyas! THank you for sharing. Just bought a macrophylla albo marginata cutting, hoping one day it will be as big and beautiful as yours.
I am glad you liked it! Don't worry, macrophylla is an easy hoya, and it grows well. Ah, I was so jealous when I saw your unboxing from Eurotropicals. I need to message them and ask if they will ship here :D
Enjoyed
Nice collection! You have so many of them)!
Thank you! Not nearly as many as I would like haha :D
I liked this video!! It is 2 years old at this point. They all looked healthy! Maybe the impirialis not so much. Have they all lived?
Most of them yes :) Imperialis recovered, but then it got mites so I threw it away :D I only had few hoyas die on my, I think less than 10 out of 300 :)
I absolutely love you collection!
Thank you! It has grown a bit since then :)
hi Basie what rooting hormone you're using? You're hoyas looks so healthy.I lve them...
I don't use a rooting hormone, I root them in distilled water with a drop of Algamic from Biobizz :) I find it helps root them fater.
It's so nice to see your collection. I love everything! 😍❤
Thanks! I hope to make an updated tour by the end of the year. :)
Got a question for the HOYA FREAKS...so is there a such thing as a variegated hoya Chelsea? And is it common that hoya leaves will change their shape due to temperature shifts?? And can the Hoyas vines intertwine and produce a different species ?? Just curious 🤔 👀
A wish list would be a nice video. What country are you in?
I made a wishlist video recently :) I am from Serbia :)
New to your channel glad I found you. Do you have an Insane Hoya collection. So beautiful
I am glad you found the channel as well! Well, it's not that insane! :) I do hope I get many, many more :)
More hoya videos pls...thanks for sharing😀
You're welcome! No worries, they are my favorite plants, there will be many more hoya videos! :)
Love your hoyas
Me too! 😂
Your kentiana (I believe) is a wayetii, only because my wayetii looks exactly like that. My Kentian Variegata has thinner more delicate looking leaves. But they are very hard to tell apart unless you have them side by side. 😜👍
Yes, both are wayetii. Well, we shouldn't be telling them apart by leaves anyways. 🙂
Beautiful i Love Hoyas 😍
Thank you! I am glad to hear that :)
Do you still have that vanda?
Great collection! Do you use Lecca to most of them or soil?
Thank you! I mix in lecca in my regular Hoya mix with bark for most Hoyas. If you mean semi hydroponics, I only have a few that I grow like that.
What's the name of the veiny hoya in the thumbnail?
Does it have to be rootbound to root?
The roots will grow fine even when it's not rootbount. Having good aeration and moisture in the mix is what gets them to grow (warmth too). You are less likely to overwater in smaller pots though, so I think that is why people prefer to keep them rootbound.
Basie Plants I apologize. What I meant was- does it have to be rootbound to bloom?
Your voice is so soothing! Loved watching your hoya collection ☺️✌🏼
Oh, didn't think it was! Ah, the collection is almost twice the size now :)
Where did u get ur white plastic trellis from?
They are sold locally in a store that sells plastic pots and other products made of plastics. I will change the white trellises in the future for a better-looking one :)
Basie Plants what sizes are you using? 42cm? 50cm? 55cm?
Hi I Am It's 40 centimeters :)
We neeeed plant tour in details 🌹🌹🌹
I knoooow. 😭 It will happen, soon I hope.
@@BasiePlants plants tour is the best relaxing video Just make it as long as you’ can with details... it will be awesome
Nice
Thank you! :)
I would appreciate the names of your plants
Can't hear you !!!! Lovely collection of Hoya's.
Maryanne Clarkson Oh, I am sorry! When I listen on my devices it sounds normal. Some people also said the sounds is good and some said they can't hear that well. My IT friend told me it's a UA-cam thing. 😶 I will try to crank up the volume in edditing more, so hopefully that will help. (I feel the next comments will be that I am too loud 😂) Thank you, I am glad you like them. Soon there will be a few more 😈
Homaygad! I love Hoya but I only have 2 😔
Oh no worries! There is always time to get more 😁
It is very hard to catch all the names, your voice is a bit low, will be better if you can provide subtitle next time. Thanks for sharing.
I am sorry to hear that. The names are listed in the order, in the description of the video. I didn't put the names on the screen because I was going through them fast and didn't want to make the video too long. Next time, I will take it slower and perhaps divide the tour in several parts as I have more hoyas now. The sound improved in newer videos, as I was able to get a mic I didn't have before. Thank you for watching still!
💚💚💚❤
💚💚💚
Can't hear you, volume is very low
I am sorry. It gets better in more recent videos. But I know some people had issues with this one and to some it sounded ok. Thank you for watching still ☺️
I just purchased a variegated macrophylla. Are they slow or fast growers? TFS! Enjoyed!
Where are the fragrant flowers? All leaves?
2coryman I think H. bella was in bloom for that video. Just before that, H. macrophylla and H. sp. Rangsan were in bloom, but I didn't record in time to catch them in bloom. :)
Plant give me
