Greetings from a Scouse in Australia. Enjoyed your video. I will buy one of these pens. Lots of Ooo factor as you say. Now to decide on a colour. I may end up in buying three over time. Whats putting me off the red is that the black coating may be a factor in the ink starvation. I watched the review by Fountain Pen Therapy and Vincenzo had no problem with his green gold coloured nib. It was over juicy. How is your pen going now? Thanks for your video
I rather like the look of the green one. I may add it at some stage! My one is working fine now, just needed a really thorough clean through. Don't think the coating was affecting the flow. Thanks for watching!
I'm wondering if there was a bit of a problem with the piston mechanism with the first few they made. Chris couldn't get the wrench in there on the first one. He ordered that red one later on. It's fine. He can get the wrench in there. I saw at least one other early reviewer with the same problem. Mine barely had any piston movement at first. I moved the piston up and down several times just normally, no extra force. It seemed like something let go. There was a small popping sound, which was scary. It still doesn't move as much as I think it should but I can get the wrench in there and get a good fill. Maybe try holding it over the drain and move the piston knob up and down aeveral times the next time you fill it. It can't hurt. Mine felt stuck. Otherwise, I absolutely love this pen. I found a black long knife nib on Ali Express. They're awesome but even the F nib is great.
The nib itself is actually OK, I was having having issues with the flow through the feed. It's performing much better now after a disassembly and thorough deep clean of the feed
I found all my black nib pens needed a little tlc to get them working well, short of using them as much of possible and just pushing down on the nib gently they all kinda "woke up" and became some favourites.. but that tipping needs to be worn down a touch, I did use the micro mesh just to make it a little smoother also but still happy I stuck to working on them buggers.
I bought this fountain pen to test it… I returned it as quickly as possible… It looks good, but the quality is poor and the performance is low… A toy for children or a theater prop…
Probably a good flush with some soapy water then flush again with plain water should help. Hope it works for you. The D5 is not my favourite Chinese pen. A bit too ornate but that's a subjective impression. I watched the ChrisRap video and cannot understand why the tool won't fit. Very odd.
It is strange about the tool, they haven't thought that one through! I can see why it wouldn't be for everyone but I like a bit of ornate extravagance here and there 😂

Good shout. I haven't really got around to the thorough clean and disassembly yet but I'll certainly keep your suggestions in mind when I do. Thanks!
The pen is beautiful ❤️.. i hope they keep up releasing attractive pens.
I've grown rather fond of Hongdian. They do have a few pens which catch my eye
Does the nib feel dry as mine?

Yeah, I'm sure with some gentle tuning I can get it where I like it. Its not unpleasant, just the flow issues really

Each to their own
Maybe it's this Diamine Syrah ink. It gave me problems of flow on a Pilot FA nib.
Possibly doesn't help, although I think it's all of the above really

It seems youtuber Eugen Borcan could disassemble this pen with the key. See his review (minute 12:24).
