Congrats from a stranger on the internet! I'm sorry you didn't have your family there for the big day but it looked like a beautiful ceremony anyway. My little sister got married to a Japanese guy a few years back and the mixture of Scottish and Japanese customs was great fun, He wore a kilt for the ceremony and she wore a ceremonial kimono for the reception, whole thing was really cute. Two countries with a strong drinking culture though so got a bit messy after that!

Beautiful wedding, I cried. I'm from Hawaii, and my wife is from Colombia. We both live in Alaska and have been married 26 years, with one daughter. We have bought two homes in Colombia, where we plan on living on our retirement years. My wife is also a very dedicated Catholic and I'm not religious, but believe in God. Congrats to you both. I was sad about that, but there wasn’t much we could do about it. The changes to the boarder restrictions are slow.

I am Canadian and have been living in France for 32 years. I remember when l got married no one from my family came either. In your case they could not due to the pandemic but in my case it was because no one in my crazy disfunctional family felt it was worth the bother. It did not stop me from having fun. I stayed married 14 years and although we are no longer together as husband and wife, we have remained good friends. I wish you a life time of happiness.

OMG, this brings back so many memories of my wedding to my Japanese husband 27 years ago. We had our ceremony here in the U.S., it was so foggy in the morning but the sun came out later and we had a wonderful day with family and friends. We were blessed with his parents and Uncle joining us for the festivities.😊 Wishing you much happiness!

There was a tornado not far from the chapel on my wedding day. We separated not long after our 9th anniversary. Glad it's worked out for those of you that had a wet start to your marriages. Congrats anming!

Congrats! I was born in Asia, got married in the US this year. I was fully expecting to not have my parents there for my wedding, but my mom did some magic in the very last moment and flew all the way here. It’s been such a blessing!

I have been following your videos for some time now and you've inspired me to finally take that step towards moving to Japan.
I was putting off moving to Japan for many reasons throughout my life (possible culture&language barriers especially in the workplace, life eventually taking me to Europe instead, pandemic etc) but after my dad recently passing away I think it is time for me to just go for it. Hopefully one day I will be able to find someone as wonderful as your Tommy and work towards those life milestones as well. Wishing you both all the best :)

It’s first time I’m seeing a western style Japanese real wedding (usually only watched traditional Japanese wedding over JDrama and hadn’t got the chance to see/ attend real ones although one of my friend married in Japan) and it’s pretty different (in terms of the words usage and wedding vows in the church ceremony…although it’s different but sweet & nice!) and the dinner time is special.
Like how much openness you have in adapting to new things (different country different language, different culture & norms) and unexpected stuffs in life (family unable to attend your wedding) and the positive vibes you have shared during your voice narrations.
Chanced upon your first video abt the many languages you can speak with locals and tourist during your walk-round Korea Chinatown…am amazed with your perseverance to learn new languages! I had to memorize my vows in Japanese even though at the time I did not know what the words meant. その時は今年４０年前ですね！ She is still my sweet heart today ... you'll have a great life together ... both of you looked perfect together... beautiful.

I love Japan, have visited twice to see my best friend from college, Akira, and want to visit again ( although Akira died this July - sorry to mention it). My biggest regret is not learning the language. All I can do is recite “ I ro ha ni ho he to” and sing “Ueomuite”, known as Sukiyaki when it was a hit in the US around 1968. I wish you much happiness and many (1-3) children.
