This video made me happy 😊 ❤️ blessings to you guys. I wish you a long and prosperous marriage and life together.
I really like how you made the effort to make sure nobody would be too embarassed and could enjoy the meeting. As far as I know, japanese are well aware of how difficult their culture can be for foreigners and they tolerate a lot, but teaching your mom things surely helped her to feel more comfortable before meeting your in-laws and also "break the ice" faster and more easily when they realize she knows a lot more than they would expect from a foreign person. Your thoughtfulness is really wholesome and should be an example of how to behave when dealing with different cultures. It makes things so much easier when you embrace the differences and try to learn about each other.
Your videos are so real and "normal" compared to most of the other travel/language channels out there. That's why I love them! Thanks for letting us be part of your (and your family's) interesting life! Greetings from Germany! 🙂🌻

I made a comment on your channel from a time back about a time in the late 70s of when my roomie and I were in Japan in OgakiGifu visiting the parents of our college dorm-mate (Japanese) when I was in college in Ashland, Oregon. I made a comment about the neighbor farm ladies in Ogaki pulling my eyelids down to check out the colors of my pupils. I can't believe it has been so long. Anyhow, my point today is that it's so nice to see people today living in Japan who don't surprise me. I had a similar experience with my roommate's unmet fiance's parents in Japan (long story). Their daughter was in the US and invited me and my roommate from Ogaki living in Oregon to visit them while we were on our way driving through her home while we were driving along the North Sea. Their hospitality and joviality was boundless. It made me chuckle and feel warm and sure sent the memories shooting back.
unreal wholesome. I was so shook by your moms confidence in her Japanese sentence,- but then stunned at how much English his dad had learned as well, LOL
When I travelled to Japan many years ago a young Japanese lady was sitting besides me in the plane. She told me that I must be able to use chopsticks in Japan. So she just exchanged the food: She took my western food, gave me her Japanese food and taught me how to use the chopsticks. When we arrived in Japan after this long distance flight, I had my lesson learned - thanks to this lady!
You are my favorite UA-cam creator. I love your interaction with people. You're still upbeat and positive. We need a lot more of that in this world and definitely in the USA
Your mom must be protected at all costs with how precious she is. I loved when she met your husband and got sick of the nodding and just threw her arms around him 😂
Well that wasn't too awkward considering the circumstances.. Both sets of parents handled it well. Good people. Loved the deer. I'd love to hear your husbands first impressions of the US and whether or not it matched his expectations.

"its hard being proud of being american sometimes" No, it's not. You've been socialized into thinking there's something inherently wrong with being America and you've swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. It's a real shame. There's always Japan you can move to.

@@bronzergoth7598 Hi! People have infinite legitimate reasons for criticizing their country, wherever it is. However, in few countries can we say our upsides are outweighed by our downsides. What happened to your grandfather is terrible, but it's a failure in government and doesn't define this country. Humble yourself and appreciate what we do have in this country, it's quite a lot.
@@RightCenterBack321 You're backpedaling from accusing me of being socialized into my lack of pride, very disingenuous after making such a huge assumption with your initial reply but thank you for acknowledging that I am correct. 13% of the US homeless population are veterans whereas only 7% of the population at large are veterans (HUD statistics), meaning they are overrepresented by almost double. I enjoyed your speaking native languages so much, Japanese, Chinese...that I did not realize what a goldmine you had in past videos. Loved meeting your families on older videos like this one.
Oh my gosh, you guys are so adorable. Your video is so endearing and made me laugh out loud multiple times. It's so cute how the in-laws and you guys interacted.
There is so much to take in with this Video, absolutely wonderful how both families put in so much work and time to show respect by learning what they can about each others culture and language, one thing all humans have in common on this planet is family.
I absolutely love your videos, I can somewhat relate as I am an American living in Mexico with a Mexican spouse. It's always been my experience that people are pleased when a person simply makes an effort to speak a foreign language, and to learn their customs. Your mother reminds me so much of my own mother, when she has traveled to Mexico to meet my in-laws. On another note I think it's wonderful how you are able to move to another country and learn their language and culture, and how you are able to fit in with ease, despite the fact that your appearance will always make you stand out.

That’s awesome that she taught you how to use chopsticks!
Great story. 🍜💜 thank you for sharing
You are my favorite UA-cam creator. I love your interaction with people. You're still upbeat and positive. We need a lot more of that in this world and definitely in the USA
Thank you so much Eddy. I’m so happy to hear that.

Your mom must be protected at all costs with how precious she is. I loved when she met your husband and got sick of the nodding and just threw her arms around him 😂
Yeah, it was nice to see them finally meet.
Awesome video! Tommy's parents were super nice and your mom was also super nice!
I’m so Lucy to have awesome in-laws.
Well that wasn't too awkward considering the circumstances.. Both sets of parents handled it well. Good people. Loved the deer. I'd love to hear your husbands first impressions of the US and whether or not it matched his expectations.

This video was so sweet! Seeing your mom meet your in-laws put a smile on my face!! They were so happy to hear her speak and bonded over various things -- it was funny the way your husband shrank from embarrassment at one point! His parents are so nice!
Your mom's room was amazing, I'd never seen a wooden tub like that!
Your mom visiting and then the preview of the trip back made me realize that you can go back now lol

I love how your in laws and mother could just read each other! Look how much fun they had. Also small world, your mom and I have the same purse. Love your videos, thank you for posting!
Your Mum: “Travelling to a foreign country and get trained like the Karate Kid was hard work and embarrassing at times. But to make Anming so happy and also gain such a wonderful son-in-law I was willing to do even more.” :D
Thank you old friend! I’m so glad that you always get to see these videos right when they come out.
I had a huge smile on my face the whole time watching this. What a lovely family 😊 So nice to see people from different cultures making an effort to understand and respect each other.

This was the most wholesome video I think I've watched this decade. The honest efforts to communicate, united by the love each side of your family has for both you and your husband is heartwarming. Your mother and in-laws just seem like genuine people to boot. The world needs more of this
Thank you so much Curtis. I’m so glad that you loved it!

@@OrientalPearl I'll be there December!😳
Your mum is a sweet lady, and your father-in-law was welcoming you and your mum with open arms! Nice family
I’m so lucky to have them.
so wholesome! its hard being proud of being american sometimes, but when foreigners are charmed by how affectionate we are, it makes me happy :) hugs american style!!
Hugs back to you 😊
"its hard being proud of being american sometimes"
No, it's not. You've been socialized into thinking there's something inherently wrong with being America and you've swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. It's a real shame.
There's always Japan you can move to.
@@RightCenterBack321 hi! my grandfather was a WWII Veteran and Garrison Commander and the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs refused to cover his therapy for throat cancer, leaving him destitute and physically without a nose at the time of his (early) death. Humble yourself and realize that no country is perfect, people have infinite legitimate reasons for criticizing the US, if anything a push for blind patriotism is what is pure socialization
"A failure in government and doesn't define this country" I don't know a more accurate reflection of a country's values than how we treat the people who are willing to die for it.
Enjoy your "upsides" though
Omg they're all so sweet. This is what family should look like 🥰
that was really cool to watch. Can't wait for the next video.
I can’t wait to show it to you.
Nice to see you all enjoying your time together. Your laughing and smiling surely made it eaiser for everyone to bond.
Thank you Robert. It was a great time.
That was very moving that was beautiful that your husband’s father ,hugged your mum.
Also your mum looks like she takes good care of herself.
Blessings 🙏🏾🙇🏾
This was so heartwarming to watch! I'm so glad it worked out with everyone meeting!
Thank you for watching Alex.
This was really sweet and heartwarming.. Love how kindness and open minds will allow anyone to connect.. Beautiful..
Awww this was so sweet, his parents are so gracious and your mom is a champ sh held well.
I adore the clapping, such good feels
I enjoyed your speaking native languages so much, Japanese, Chinese...that I did not realize what a goldmine you had in past videos. Loved meeting your families on older videos like this one.
Both sides of the family are so wonderful, brightened up my day for sure!
As someone who has binge watched UA-cam since its conception, this might be the most wholesome thing I've ever watched here.
This was heartwarming 😭 your mom and his parents were both adorable, respectful, funny and so sweet. Such a beautiful family 💞
Thank you so much. I’m glad you liked it.
Tommy has a great sense of humor. It's subtle, sometimes without words😂
Learning about Japanese culture must be very fun and awesome. And it's very amazing that your mother met the in laws for the first time. I really love the deer's they are so cute.
Those deer were hilarious.
This was really special to watch, thank you for sharing. Looking forward to seeing the next video from America. Travel safely. Love and greetings from Australia! ♥️
Sending love from Michigan to Australia.
Glad your Mom had such a wonderful time! The deer scene was hilarious! lol Can't wait for Tommy's USA experience.
I’m glad we caught that deer scene on camera.
Nice video. I loved how bith his parents and her parents took the time to learn eachother language for there children. Very wholesome video!
I been subbed for a long time, and I'm glad your content has been getting tons of traction, especially your "catching ppl..." video has over 37 million views. Congratulations 🎊
