LittleRubberSquare a lot of people do both. My family has a shinto temple so naturally my uncle and his wife did the traditional wedding, and afterwards they did a american styled wedding party where they cut th e cake together and all that stuff. I guess the traditional wedding is the actual part where they marry and the american style one is more of a party where you celebrate the marriage with lots of food and speeches and stuff.

Your ceremony is beyond beautiful! I found it very informative. I love Japanese culture and will be writing a Shinto wedding in a fanfic I am writing. I read a little on it so far, but your video has been a great help. The visuals has meant a lot and will be watching a few times. Your video was the first Shinto wedding I’ve watched and it was perfect.

Japanese,Sinhalese,Chinese weddings are the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen. Because they celebrate the festival beautifully according to the unique costumes, songs and rituals. I have traveled many roads in those countries.

I just found your channel 30 minutes ago. I was looking for Japan videos and they got me to your video where you visit a shinto shrine in 2014 and it was your first time there. Then I ended up with your wedding video. Seriously, I was moved till I cried for you. I wish someday to be able to visit Japan and experience your feelings. The ceremony was such a warming thing for my heart. I wish you so many years in front of your life!

Thanks you for sharing your special day! I have never seen a Japanese wedding ceremony and I think its great that's its gaining popularity among young people. It's great for people to never forget their traditions and roots. Unfortunately for me my people were conquered so I don't know the traditionals of my people. But if I I knew them I would definitely be proud to practice and remember them!

this was super helpful. I am super nervous as I am getting married into a Japanese family. I love him dearly and he wants to have a Shinto wedding. being very new to the culture, I am trying to gather as much information about Shinto itself. Not just the wedding part in hopes of getting to know my new family even more. I love this and still have much to learn. I will say it's worth every step. I am glad you had a wonderful wedding. and you looked stunning.

Your Japanese ceremony was on December 3rd? My birthday is December 2nd. That was such a beautiful ceremony. You said the traditional ceremonies are getting more popular. I really hope so. I can understand how a western wedding would be popular with the younger generation and maybe seem more modern. But I hope that today's generation would rediscover and find a new appreciation for their culture so that such beautiful and uniquely Japanese traditions like this never die.
