Nice jam - really musical . The 914 is so affordable! While there some CV controlled FFB's - The new Zlob module and one by ADDAC come to mind ($$$). I wish the 914 had a way to record the knob settings in real time and then allow playback asynchronously or synced to a clock. BARTON has 10 band DIY pcb i am thinking I might attempt to mod. - cheers!
Bro.... your video has really hit the spot for me, I was just gifted this 914 filter bank with another module from a friend, turns out this is a real keeper/feature module in my rack now, love how you applied it in this context.
Thanks for sharing. This slowly evolving tapestry of sound is very beautiful! I still smile whenever I see your homemade module box. It is economical and brilliant. I wish I had thought of it when I was making a getting a box for a Clouds module. I also like how the Tascam got repurposed into a looper...
Thank Raku. Yes the cardboard box is very handy and that was my very first case, I had it for 5 years! Tape 4 tracks machines are beautiful. Having velocity control adds so much texture to the music. I can see why the prices of these things are going up on eBay!! Thanks for stopping by 🙏👍
I have a neutron + a tascam and was thinking about this ffb, so this video pushes me harder to get one. thanks for the great music and video. waiting for more videos with these kids. Big Up !
Thanks man. Yeah it’s a very good combo. The neutron is great with its variable waveshape to get great timbres with the FFB. The tascam is always a winner 💪🙏🙏
Hey I must say this is amazing Keep up the good work. This gave me goosebumps. Nice and simple sound design. Not too much just the right amount of tweaks. And I love the way you play with the LFO at the end.
@@PatchMonger this video really helped me decide. My first 2 rack modules are the Neutron and the 914. Already have them but still waiting for the powered rack case to make the 914 work! Loving the Neutron though.
@@PatchMonger I am so excited by this video, got two of these on the way that i'll be eating ramen noodles for the indefinite future for but it seems worth it.
Thanks Willem, basically I record a drone into each track of the 4 track, then I mix in real time and record the output into mixer/daw same as the synths. Tape really adds a very nice dimension. Check people like amulets to see masters in action! 🙏
Thank youuuu!!! Yeah it’s been tricky lately getting any time to make music but it’s getting better!!! Thanks for sticking around, your comment makes me very happy 🙏🙏👍👍
That was awesome. I've been debating on the 914 and this really helps out. I to wish there was some CV options but I guess as it wasn't in the original and so couldn't be part of the "authentic reproduction". Maybe they'll make a Mark II in the future. I know AJH do one with some CV and extra features but unfortunately that's a little out of my current budget. :-) Thanks!
Thank you man. Yeah cv would be awesome or individual outputs. I’m eying the random source resonance eq. I may try to diy it it looks like a goood option too. Yeah the AJH is a bit pricey. Give it a go, it’s a fun module 👍
This is lovely. The FFB should be able to self oscillate if they have really managed to replicate the Moog as well as they have claimed. Thus far I have been quite impressed with their 900 series module knock-offs. Still, an inductor-based FFB is the way to go for the perfect Q. I have demos of the Moog and Synth-Werk on my channel if you are interested.
Thanks man, cool I’ll check it out! Yeah I agree, it’s nice but something is missing. Seriously considering the Serge one in Eurorack, I have heard it and sounds lovely. FFBs are such a nice thing!
@@PatchMonger AJH makes the ones with the toroidal coils, though I can't see how they managed to shrink those down to euro size and have them maintain that famous Q.
Thanks Paul, it’s a sequential switch. I used it with the sequencer. You don’t need it for the 914. The 914 is fairly standalone and can use it on its own
Hi I did! It’s very nice. Trying to find some time to make a video with it. So far so good. I will not be making a behringer system because already have modular but looks nice
RotaGilla thank you! That sounds like a good combo. I suppose the classic sound would be a model d with the FFB but the pro one is really good! I’ve never used any other FFB and the first couple of days I could not get what I was expecting to get out but then I started to understand it! Very interesting module indeed! 👍

Almost sounds like a chinese plucked string instrument, wonderful stuff bro
Really great stuff. Im still trying to get used to the FFB as well. Cool to see how you used it here. Nice cardboard skiff too! 👍
Lovely piece here. Don't forget about that delay on the Neutron
Ah yes, it’s a great delay too for more gritty sounds! 👍🤘
the bass towards the end is just perfect
Thanks man, the MS-1 is lovely on bass :-)
Good sounds, creative use of the tape. Nice
Another brilliant peace. Again with the chords on the 4 track. 101 sounding absolutely perfect here as well.
Thanks man. I am quite pleased with this tape loop, I tried something different making it and gave me lots of interesting sounds. I love the 101 🙏
Sick Jam!🎹🎧💫😵👌😎👍 I have the "Neutron" myself. I used to have that exact same Tascam 4-truck. I miss it dearly.✌
Thanks Max. The Tascam is fantastic, I don't think I will ever depart with it.
Beautiful.
nice forensic files vibes

this is incredible
Great movement, audio and edits... thanks for the enjoyment. Love the classic FFB cardboard box vibe.
Cool thanks! Yeah love my diy cardboard box. Was my first one and still works!!
Wow this sounds amazingly beautiful. The background textures get a 10/10 from me :)
Thank David. Those 4 track tascam are truly magical
Repetitively comforting👍. The pop-up annotations work well and an excellent video, too.
Thank you!! I took your comment of having the annotations for a bit longer, glad it’s working better ☺️🙏👍
So so so nice and chill. Would love to listen to this at any streaming. Saved this video, thanks!)

Crazy good, getting some Ben Frost vibes.
Thank you! Big complement ! I love Ben frost work
that was very pleasing to listen to. the bass is definitely a must I think and I can imagine that CV for the filter bank would be so much more fun :)
Thanks Chief!! I agree cv would have been perfect. Still pretty good fun module! 👍🕺
sounds wonderful
Thanks Robert, it’s a very nice combo
Loving the 914. It makes synths sound so acoustic.
It is, it’s really organic

Beautiful piece of music!
Thank you Claudio
sounds wonderful. makes me want a FFB even more
Thanks Blaythe, yeah I’ve after an FFB for quite some time. Want to get in time the random source res eq as well. They are so much fun to play with
wow... just lovely
Thank you so much 😊🙏

Great track and greetings to spain! Thumb up!

Awesome work. No need to buy shoes in lockdown.
🤣 choices mate, thanks
great. stayed interesting throughout
Thanks Marc. I had a great time making it
Your case almost looks like mine. I'm thinking to upgrade to a bigger (cardboard) box though.
Nice! Cardboard boxed rock! 🎸
Loved it thanks! I want a 914! What is the module next to the 914? Is it needed? What is its use?

Thanks Prema. Yeah the FFB is pretty sweet
very nice man!
Thank you! Glad you dig it 🙏
real good!
Thank you! 🙏🙏
uff, nice.
Thanks Tobi 😊🙏
the ADDAC 601 has CV, but it is pricey
Very cool... what kind of power supply did you use to temporally power the filter bank?
Thank you! I used a uzeus. It’s quite good to power a few modules
what's sequencing the Neutron?
Fluvi!!!!!!
Siiii!!! El de la Expo!! ❤️
hi did you get the 960 sequencer ? how are you finding the behringer modules ?
Hi I did! It’s very nice. Trying to find some time to make a video with it. So far so good. I will not be making a behringer system because already have modular but looks nice
do the two inputs allow stereo input? Many thanks.
Yes they do. As far as I remember…. I only worked in mono :-)
It is unfortunately just mono. The dual inputs/outputs are often used to make a feedback loop.
This is really great. I just think about to get a Behringer Pro1 together with a FFB. Do you recommend the FFB from Behringer?
