Thank you, that is genuinely appreciated! We put a lot of time and effort in the videos to try and make them amongst the best out there, and nice to know it's appreciated :-)
Everything is much easier when it's on a lift :) But when you have to jack the car up and do this laying on your back, it becomes less easy and a lot more time consuming :)
Thank you. My van started jerking, gears shifted badly, and would not accurate properly. I followed your steps, afterward took it for a 20-minute spin, and boom -we are back in business. Thanks again, Sir.

Thank you so much man! Great video. One tip from my side, rotate the oil bottle 180 degrees so that the spout is on the top when pouring, this will avoid bubbling. That’s why they change the design of the bottles several years ago. Thank you again!!

At 140k miles I was a bit hesitant in doing this job, but I am glad I followed this video step by step and the drive is smoother now. Fluid was turning brown too. Btw it has been 3 months I did the job and so far so good. No problems. Awesome!

Excellent video! One thing I might add is to be careful that the dipstick does NOT contact the positive battery terminal as it is very close, as you can see in the video. The resulting arc can cause molten bits of metal to fall down into the pan.
thank you very very much , you are a life saver , the way you film everything and the explanation with it for every little detail you are the best , here in Iraq everything is cheap but the problem is our mechanics don't know or read so they would just drop and fill . the details you provide are very much helpful , thank you brother

I'm on my 3rd change, the first time it was 7 quarts 8 oz, the 2nd time was 7 quarts 16 oz. I capture all the fluid and measure out exactly how many quarts, even use a pyrex measuring cup to get it really accurately. Thanks for the very clear and detailed video. Well done.
Sitting here hoping the mechanics at the dealership did this good of a job with the fluid change on a used 2019 Grand Caravan GT @ 62K miles that I'm picking up today. Thanks for the awesome video, I'm going to try my hand at this at some point; this looks like a cake-walk compared to the DPS6 transmission I used to have.

I needed a quick refresher on this for a customer car. Thank you for a great vid!If anyone is interested: it's the same service procedure on most Dodge FWD cars with this 6-spd trans. Seek out a quality rubber or OE Mopar gasket for the pan (unless you like using the messy FIPG and waiting for it to cure)

Good video! One item of note I discovered when my new pan arrived (I had hit something on the side of the road that put a good dent in the pan ... and started a very slow leak ... which recently got bigger). The pan looks as if it's like many pans on the bottom of a car ... fairly light. SURPRISE! This pan is a lot heavier than it looks! So before you completely undo those last bolts after getting most of the fluid out, LIFT the pan to get a feel for its weight. You may be surprised! I took my new pan out of the shipping box and was astounded at how heavy it was! A couple other tips ... make sure you have the ATF+4 to hand before you start the job. (i.e. don't get the job underway and use the wife's car to go to the store!!!! All my local famous Canadian auto/hardware stores had NO ATF+4 in stock and the gasket maker I got turned out to want an hour to cure before assembling and then 24 hours to cure before filling ... so I gotta go get an alternative! Oh well, another excuse to call into Timmies for a boston cream.
Great post! Yes, the pans can sometimes be quite a lump! And absolutely, yes ALWAYS get everything you need beforehand, especially BEFORE you drain any fluids, lol! Timmies always wins out!
I'm dealing with the same issue after hitting a chunk of concrete. I have been losing about a quart per day. Fixing it in 2 days from now. One thing I've noticed is that every time I add fluid, I have to run it through the gears before checking the level otherwise the residual fluid in the fill tube messes with my reading.
Great video. My wifes 14 T & C has 116,000 on it. Just completed the filter change, topped off the fluid and test drive. Shifts through the gears like new.

I am preparing to do my 14 T & C with 124,000 mi. Did you happen to pull the line to the Trans oil cooler and pump out 3 more courts from the torque converter adding a total of 9ish quarts (a flush) or did you just do a drain and fill? I am wondering if I should get all of the 9 quarts out.
Excellent video! Followed your steps to the letter, except I made the mistake of trying to replace the seal that the filter fits into the transmission. That was a huge mistake and a dangerous struggle. I managed to get the previous one out and new one in, but I probably didn't need to do it based on how snug the filter was seated. So, DO NOT swap the filter seal unless you absolutely can see that you need to!!!! Thank you again for a great video! Cheers!
Thank you, that is very much appreciated!! They may be saying that due to the mileage, maybe they are assuming it will have been done to schedule in the past, and so currently does not need changing, which could indeed be correct if it has been changed before. But also could be one 175,000 and never been changed. Hard to know unless you know the history of the car well. @@YouWrench yes, thats right! But also could be one of the alleged opinions circulating around that if its high millage and trans fluid hasn’t been changed for a long time or never been changed its better to leave it as is or otherwise transmission might break down with a new fluid. Could you comment that opinion ?

So glad I found your channel. Your videos are not just informative, but professionally taped. Anyone who has this vehicle/engine would be best served to watch your videos. I'm very surprised you only have 10.6k subs. You sir should have over 100k!! I do have a question. Would an old timer like me benefit by extracting fluid with an extractor and replacing it with fresh. Or just leave it alone. Thanks.
How many litres come out? And how many litres should I buy before I do this? Also should I use gasket filler or just the gasket that comes with it? Great video!

You Wrench, this was a very nicely done how to do it video, leave it to the Brits to do a good job, just like up town. I have bookmarked this video to follow this spring when I service the 62TE transmission on my '12 Chrysler 200 Touring convertible.
Very professional and detailed. Right from the start, up to the very end with practical advices. Great presentation specially for a DIY project. I am looking forward to viewing more DIY maintenance services on Chrysler voyager. Common malfunctions on mechanical, steering, electrical, brakes system, interior and even body moving parts. Again I thank you for doing this helpful video. Keep it up. Good job.

Great video, with all details but not too many useless ones. Question, where can I find the torque spec for those bolts and screws for a 2010 T&C 3.3L LX?
Great video. I have also watched your great video on how to modify oil dipstick and how much transmission fluid is needed when replacement is needed. You explained that the vehicle needs to be driven prior to level check. Please could you explain how the vehicle can be safely driven without damage during this time. Thank you in advance.
Actually, no that is not the case. In the video it mostly covers checking the fluid levels on a cold engine. Once checked (and confirmed looking ok), you can then also drive the car (or leave it 20 minutes to warm up idling, almost as good) and check the hot level as well if needed. But yes the fluid level should be checked (cold, hot, or both) before the car gets driven. to get that rubber/metal seal out, I used a 5/16" wood chisel, nice and sharp, and came in from the side of the metal lip, crushing it out of round until I had enough to grab onto with a small pair of channel-locks. Twist and pull. Now, I'm here to see tricks for getting the bugger back in, because it is tight, tight, tight. I have it in the freezer at the moment, the transmission is warm, and I have a seal driver of the right size. Dear god I should have just left the old one in!

I do not have a lift nor a high enough garage... All I can do is lift mine and put jack stands underneath the front... Yes, using the hand brake and some stoppers on the back wheels and keep it in gear, it should (hopefully!) work so I can go underneath... I am still thinking of just sucking out the transmission fluid through the dipstick hole and put new one in the same way... Granted, the magnet won't be cleaned, but there will be new fluid... Better than nothing... Or I buy a new house with a higher garage and a lift... lol If I do it with the sucking out/putting back in method, it will be easier to replace just what you took out...

Just did mine. I replaced the filter seal and bent the first one tryingto put it in. Luckily I had two so I put the other one in. But when I put the filter in the hole it didn't give me the nice sound of it seating in. I tried every way possible but would only go in just a little. But the bolts did line up so I hope I'm good.
Great video many thanks, I see you have product links for the USA and Canadian markets at Amazon etc. Is there any chance you could link to some UK products where these are available? The UK market for Chrysler stuff has obviously declined since the company closed it's dealerships here but there's still many old vehicles around. Thanks. Keep the video's coming.
One question I had was about your gasket. Was it made of nitrile rubber? Mine was and I just wonder if factory torque specs should still be used with that gasket. There were no specifications with the kit or anywhere I could find online. I used WIX brand because that's really all I had access to in the timeframe I had from Oreilly's. Thanks for an excellent video. I look forward to watching more as I own a 2014 Caravan SE.
I got all symptom you said, and I wonder for a sunday's mechanics as myself is it possible to do it with my van on ramp in my garrage? I got hard time to evaluate how far this carter is?

FYI - you'll find it easier to pour fluid from and offset opening by holding the bottle opening at the top (not bottom) allowing you to tilt bottle farther without pouring out contents.
Usually yes, but with the limited space you want to get the hole as close to the funnel as possible. Flipping the bottle would make it further away from the funnel in this case, and the puring starts quickly! But in most instances, including pouring oil from larger containers where 'glugging' could be an issue (not an issue on the small 1 litre bottles) then pouring from the reverse side is 100% definitely the best option. Great tip!

As always great detailed video! Back when I used to work on the older vehicles you had to check the fluid while Eng is is optimal temp BUT it was supposed to be in neutral. Does that still apply?
Thanks for posting this. You no doubt have watched Don Smith’s video on Chrysler T&C transmission fluid change. Curious to know why you did not flush out the remnant oil from the tranny cooler?
Question: I have a 2014 Dodge Ram C/V cargo (same as Town & Country) with 3.6L engine. In this video, it's a 3-6L of different year. Will the millimeter markings you used in this video (5mm-15 cold / 40mm-55 hot) work on my transaxle? Thanks, and your videos are SOOOO very helpful. Much appreciated.
my 2017 Caravan fill tube is not "under wiring harness" where all these videos show it. It can be found entering the front cover which is well back of the radiatorAnd of course there is no transmission dipstick either, but other videos show how to use the oil dipstick

great video! I have mine apart today and i am noticing the other transmission cover ( the end or side cover) is leaking at the bottom. Is it easy to remove the sode cover and reseal it with RTV? Seems very tight to get at it at the top. Is it even possible to remove the side cover without removing the transmission? If anyone knows of a video that shows resealing the side/end cover please let me know, Thanks

I agree. Very easy to follow video. Very extremely detailed video. 👍 🙏
Extremely easy video. Saved myself $130!
Absolutely. His tutorial on changing the coolant was amazing and helped me a lot.
What a great step by step showing every step involved. Thank u for not using annoying music. I really feel I can do this myself.
Yes no need for music 🎵
Thank you. My van started jerking, gears shifted badly, and would not accurate properly. I followed your steps, afterward took it for a 20-minute spin, and boom -we are back in business. Thanks again, Sir.

Thank you, we do try and consider each shot carefully. It takes a lot of work to put these videos together properly, covering all of the details. So great to know when they are appreciated!! :-)
Thank you so much man! Great video. One tip from my side, rotate the oil bottle 180 degrees so that the spout is on the top when pouring, this will avoid bubbling. That’s why they change the design of the bottles several years ago. Thank you again!!

140k on same Transmission?
Excellent video! One thing I might add is to be careful that the dipstick does NOT contact the positive battery terminal as it is very close, as you can see in the video. The resulting arc can cause molten bits of metal to fall down into the pan.
yeah i was cringing watching his dipstick just sway there at the end
thank you very very much , you are a life saver , the way you film everything and the explanation with it for every little detail you are the best , here in Iraq everything is cheap but the problem is our mechanics don't know or read so they would just drop and fill . the details you provide are very much helpful , thank you brother

Thank you for making such a detailed and helpful tutorial of this process!
Nice!! That's exactly what we like to hear :-)

@@highviews4524 I only got out the 5 1/4 ish that came out of the pan and filter. Not sure what you wrench would recommend. Best of luck.
Cheers!
You make the world a better place …thx man , much appreaciated
Awesome video. The best detailed video I've ever saw on UA-cam. I was told not to service our transmission because our caravan has 175000 miles on it.
Hope that helps!! :-)

@@YouWrench yes, thats right! But also could be one of the alleged opinions circulating around that if its high millage and trans fluid hasn’t been changed for a long time or never been changed its better to leave it as is or otherwise transmission might break down with a new fluid. Could you comment that opinion ?

Great video! I was able to use this conquer my fear and change my fluid. Thank you so much!
Thank you for making these videos. I have a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan and your videos are my go to. 🙏👏👏💪💪💪
Glad we could help, and thank you for your support!

Hi there! All of the information on capacities can be found in the video at the 1:00 mark. Hope that helps!

Keep it up. Good job.
Thank you so much for your kind word, we appreciate that a lot! Glad you found it useful, and hope to see you again in the very near future on another one of our videos :-)

tip: keep track of what comes out. that will give you a good idea and start basis for how much to put back in.
Yes, measuring what comes out can be used as a refernece to what needs to go back in as a base point for sure, but always check as the original level may have been low (or even high!)

Great video, with all details but not too many useless ones. Question, where can I find the torque spec for those bolts and screws for a 2010 T&C 3.3L LX?
Your vids are great, sir. Salute. Thank you for your help! 🙏🏿
Hope that makes sense :-)

The best way is to measure the amount of old fluid that was drained and pour in the same volume of new fluid (or make a good estimate).

to get that rubber/metal seal out, I used a 5/16" wood chisel, nice and sharp, and came in from the side of the metal lip, crushing it out of round until I had enough to grab onto with a small pair of channel-locks. Twist and pull.
Now, I'm here to see tricks for getting the bugger back in, because it is tight, tight, tight. I have it in the freezer at the moment, the transmission is warm, and I have a seal driver of the right size. Dear god I should have just left the old one in!
will do it tomorrow with a dorman oil pan, thank you very much for your video

A question:
1-when you need 9 quarters? 2-And when you need just 5.5 quarters?
Hi Sir, than you for your detailed instruction! May I ask one question: as I don't know the brand of the original transmission fluid, is it ok to add the fluid with different brand (but same model: ATF+4)? Thanks again!
Thank you for your video it's help me to find how to add oil on the transmision🎉

Or I buy a new house with a higher garage and a lift... lol
If I do it with the sucking out/putting back in method, it will be easier to replace just what you took out...
Amazing video very informative. Appreciate it extremely helpful.
For me, it works better, black gasket maker, not gasket, let it dry overnight, then add the fluid the next day. It will never leak 100% guarantee.
Best vid so far. Great job.

Thank you so much. Easy to follow and overall a great video.
i am using a fel pro gasket on mine, should i oil it up or use it dry? I have heard both. thanks for your vidoes!
Would you recommend to change out the transmission cooling lines as well when doing this job?
One question I had was about your gasket. Was it made of nitrile rubber? Mine was and I just wonder if factory torque specs should still be used with that gasket. There were no specifications with the kit or anywhere I could find online. I used WIX brand because that's really all I had access to in the timeframe I had from Oreilly's. Thanks for an excellent video. I look forward to watching more as I own a 2014 Caravan SE.
Thank you, very helpful video, greetings from Europe
Question! If it doesn’t come with a dipstick then how would you know your fluid levels inside the transmission?
I got all symptom you said, and I wonder for a sunday's mechanics as myself is it possible to do it with my van on ramp in my garrage? I got hard time to evaluate how far this carter is?
nice video you did a good job ,easy to understand .
Thank you, glad we could help :-)

FYI - you'll find it easier to pour fluid from and offset opening by holding the bottle opening at the top (not bottom) allowing you to tilt bottle farther without pouring out contents.
Usually yes, but with the limited space you want to get the hole as close to the funnel as possible. Flipping the bottle would make it further away from the funnel in this case, and the puring starts quickly! But in most instances, including pouring oil from larger containers where 'glugging' could be an issue (not an issue on the small 1 litre bottles) then pouring from the reverse side is 100% definitely the best option. Great tip!
Should you use any RTV or Gasket sealer to help or is the rubber gasket good enough?
Nice Instructional Video... Well Done!
Thank you!

As always great detailed video! Back when I used to work on the older vehicles you had to check the fluid while Eng is is optimal temp BUT it was supposed to be in neutral. Does that still apply?
Do you think a pneumatic brake fluid bleeder could be used through the dipstick port to remove some of the fluid prior to dropping the pan?
Thanks for posting this. You no doubt have watched Don Smith’s video on Chrysler T&C transmission fluid change. Curious to know why you did not flush out the remnant oil from the tranny cooler?
2010 Grand Caravan has 10mm bolts. Just did mine today. 201,000 km.
That is helpful to know what size socket to use, something he could have mentioned, so thanks!
It’s an 8 mm socket
Awesome, great video.
Easy to follow, thank you . Subbed 🙂
What pan is just above the transmission pan?
Another excellent well done informative video ! Thank you so much .
Thank you, really appreciate your support! :-)

Just doing mine today, on the fill part now I'm trying 5 gallons first before my level testing fingers crossed lol
You can buy an aftermarket pan with a drain plug for about $30. It'll save yourself a lot of headache if you change the fluid again later.
Yes, if your old pan is tatty then it's well worth replacing it because they are pretty cheap and readily available. Nice tip!

great video!
Thanks, great video start 2 finish!
Thank you, much appreciated!
