Two interesting things: Magnums were some of the best weapons, and the Marines actually did decently as the numbers scaled up.

For a future battle, normally I'd suggest something regarding the Prophet of Regret, but instead I'm gonna suggest something completely different (and probably ridiculous)... Do Flood vs Covenant in Spartan Assault (360 version)! xP
Spartan assault doesn't have flood that's only Spartan strike I think
Henry Hopkins Spartan Assault was the one that was ported to consoles and got the coop flood mode
If the Jackals didn't have an inpenetrable shield in front of them, they would actually do fine.
Thing is there are many more factors that make human AI inferior.

Every friendly AI in Halo sucks. Otherwise they would do all the work instead of you
+Firex in halo 3 they good, but in legendary that's diffrend story
The balance to it is that Covenant weapons are worth shit against health and UNSC are the best all around so it counters itself out.
The lesser species such as the Grunts, Jackals and Drones (When not in a swam) will get destroyed by marines but these jackals we're all Majors aka not shit so they we're more aggressive and had better health, Their shields played a key factor as shown by the snipers when they we're gone the jackals needed to headshot or they lost.
The ODST in firefight have the lowest hp.
Marines and Elites vs Grunts and Spartans. A bit of a mix-up!
Halo Reach ODST's were the best looking.
But not the brightest. In fact the light aren't even on.

Gameplay doesn't equal canon, just because the AI sucks doesn't mean the ODSTs or even some marines suck that much too. Watch any of the Halo Legends or even read any of the novels for proof.
The Jackals are automatically on Legendary, whereas the ODSTs are on Heroic by default. In any case, they should both be put on Normal as Normal is how much damage they can take as realistically close to canon as possible. Easy doesn't count.

As much as it pains me to say this, I'd _love_ a *Firefight* with _this_ _many_ ODSTs, -even if they suck.-
Back when I 1st heard of the *Anniversary* *Map* *Pack,* I was quite overjoyed that there'll be allies in a Firefight for the 1st time ever.
...But there's only, like what, 4 of them...?
And they go down ridiculously fast.
I wish the ODST and Spartan 4 AI were actually better than regular marine AI because they are supposed to be more elite and better trained but in the games they are just marine Al with different outfits
In Halo 2, if I am correct, they have more health than regular marines, and have an aditionnal fire dodging animation that they often use in combat.
Specoups, back then it Didn't matter cause the halo 2 and 3 ai were godly plus odsts received more health.

Jackals are pretty good with plasma rifles I see. Their shields buy them time to unload an extended burst.

Are you fucking kidding me ? You do know that halo science is more reality based right ? And that realistically they’d be dead or injured by just 2-3 shots, do you not understand how devastating plasma scarring/burning is or even how hot plasma is and dense ?
You played halo 3 ODST too much imho. You do realize the gameplay mechanics are not at all lore friendly right?
The stamina system was literally a reskinned shield system. A plasma shot will mow an ODST down in lore
I love how the Jackal AI seems to concentrate on one ODST and onto the next.
It looks like their is a terrain disadvantage. At the start of the fight, the ODST scatter and look for cover behind that oddly shaped rock. The jackals have no cover option so they just fire away. Also they have the high ground

What I'd like to see is another Player involved one. But this one basically has a mini objective, where you need to escape to a certain location (By getting a vehicle or something) while a massive battle rages around you.
Just discovered this, and the whole concept of pairing AI-run characters like this is awesome...

Is it possible to make any of these where the AI are scattered on either side of the whole map rather than face to face on a small battleground? I would love to see how they move and fight through the environment, although I can understand if it isn't possible.

I just wish they would add a mechanic that lets marines fire for the hackers hand then take them out. That’s what they do in the lore but I digress great video

Note to any game designers out here who might be listening. You don't balance friendly forces in game by making them have stupid ai, you do it by putting the best the enemy has to offer in superior positioning. Making it so if the player works hard at it they can keep their troops alive and if not those troops serve as a balance for the difficult fight as a distraction the enemy actually has to deal with.
(Some suggestions) 1: Halo Reach Falcon AI vs Banshee AI. 2: Halo3 marines surviving a Drone onslaught. 3: Different covenant forces surviving a a Drone Onslaught. 4: Halo Reach huge AI battle Human vs Covenant
Halo 5: Spartans vs Elites vs Warden Eternal.Halo Reach: Jump pack ODST's vs. Buggers.

thought of something awesome, what if you have one side that has a base taken over ( such as the ODST soldiers holding off the base in this map) then you have the enemy surrounding the base, that would be very cool to watch!

Man, i never realized just how dangerous Jackals are. One of the easiest enemies to kill can still wipe out the ultimate soldier besides the SPARTANs. How did we win this war again?
Well in the lore the ODST's could of easily wiped out the jackals but because of reaches terrible, terrible, friendly AI it was extremely unfair

i noticed your thumbnails for some older AI battles were changed. That kindof thumbnail looks really cool...
the side that has cover tends to lose. The AI seeks cover and hides, decreasing the overall firepower they can put out, while the enemy in the open has all their guns on target. Then the AI behind cover comes out one at a time to be slaughtered.

ODST's in-game are basically marines but with cooler armor. They're essentially useless, I just use them for bullet sponging or distractions.

All the covenant needs to take a planet is a few squads of well trained jackals and then, nothing can stop them! Not even the ODST can, just watch out for some rockets and Noble Six.
