- Here's a very simple Halo CE AI Battle, with Marines fighting Jackals.
The rules are simple:
Each time a team loses they gain a unit - for example 1 Marine kills 1 Jackal, the next round will be 1 Marine fighting 2 Jackals.
Every third unit is a upgraded unit - for example the third Marine the team gains (after losing 2 fights) will have a Shotgun instead of an Assault Rifle.
The first team to lose the fight with 10 units loses - 10 Marines v 6 Jackals, if the Jackals kill the 10 Marines the Jackals win the AI
Battle.

In Halo 1 you can make the marine wield any weapon in Halo 1 by using a modding tool:-
Go to actv folder, select Marine. Click on Reference Swapper then change the weapon.
They actually exist in game, on first level with flood

Literally give ONE of those marines a sniper rifle and the fight would already be over. The H1 sniper marines are like aimbots.
Unfortunately they are unable to tell if an ally is in the way, and I've been betrayed numerous times because of it.

Marine dialogue is the best thing about halo
thats why I love halo 1 and 2, the squad banter. Only gets much better in halo 2 with the covenant squad banter when you play as the arbiter.
Only that the marine rage looks glorious!

The halo 2 ones from what I have seen take cover more often, also the odsts in halo 2 have behavior similar to the halo ce marines.

But they have less health.

I know, and it's stupid. They would be much better if they'd shoot assault rifles full auto like in h3.
Its so inaccurate at longer ranges. Its made like that so they hit more.
just a random person nope, the first 2 shots fired are accurate hits and will deal alot of damage at range
well at full auto they would probably die because when fired at auto you can tell the spread is greater
well in Halo 3 the fire rate was reduced to make it more accurate at medium range

the assault rifle doesn't have bloom in the hands of AI. Take a look at the AR wielding flood on legendary in the library for example.
Only in Halo CE. I wish they at least fired 10.

Just a small detail that I thought was cool at 5:36 when the Marine pumps the shotgun you can actually see the pump being racked back. I love it when devs put in the effort to animate that kind of stuff.
They went through the effort of animating the shotgun pump animation...
But didn't even place one shotgun marine in the game

Only 2 I believe, and between the popcorn and friendly fire, they die really quickly
Hossain Ali sucks too there some of the only useful marines in the game alongside the sniper ones.
there's plenty of nice details like that. You can also see the shells from the shotgun and assault rifles fly out, and when firing the scorpion's aux gun or Warthog gun, it basically forms a stream of spent shells that even have gravity and roll down hills and such.

Triadic dah Gangsta not really. I saw a marine kill an entire grunt patrol or something I don’t know what it’s called lol. He killed the minor elite and the rest of the grunts in it without dying. But it was on heroic difficulty on reach

Might look at doing it, Elites have way more health than Marines however.

when a Grunt retreats the 1st marine chases it then the 2nd marine goes infront of the Grunt and tried to stop it

The hitscan guns help a lot too
Jackals are way more deadly and dangerous if you give them beam rifles.

Even an Elite Major does not stand a chance against a marine with a shotgun. But any form of those flood can completely whack them away if they fight alone.

An orange shield jackal is the worst possible enemy you can face if you have no nades 😑
You obviously have never encountered a Golden Sword Elite on Legendary. Bastards run faster than you, have more health than you, have nearly indestructible shields, and can kill you in a single hit from ridiculous range. All you have to do to beat Jackals is shoot their hand that hold their gun and then blast them with bullets when they recoil from the shot to their hand.
MVP was the Jackal with the needler
Marines are badasses in lore. Halo CE and reach are the only games that kinda show it
Halo 2 as well, they're surprisingly strong. Especially on Legendary.
Grunts and Jackals don't stand a chance against Shotgun Marines.

U know most of these Marines got turned into flood except Johnson and the British one
I don't know what he actually is and that other sarge got off too the one with the glasses
Johnson, Stacker (the other Marine sergeant in Halo 1) and Chips Dubbo (Aussie man) all survived the first game. Johnson surviving was explained in a book, but the other two made it off the ringworld with no explanation.
AzelfandQuilava I'm guessing they made it off world in a Longsword not sure if it has slipspace or not but if it doesnt they could have found some Condor or stole a Covanent vehicle

marines would always die to swords and grenades... oh god did they fail to get away from grenades.
halo 2 as well, they would stare at it then let it detonate.
John Murphy They changed that to doing a belly flop 6 feet to the side of it, and taking 10 seconds to get up while getting shot
I know, either that or they get directly stuck and instead of either
A. Getting away from their teammates so they don't die
Or
B. Suicide rushing the enemy
They instead opt to
C. Run around in circles or directly towards their teammates and kill them
Can you set the difficulty of the AI?
what difficulty was this on? Heoric?
I didn't set a difficulty, it's just on it's default for custom maps.
Sod but what is that default difficulty? Normal? Heroic? Is there a way of knowing what it is before you start these or does it automatically change between difficulties?
I'm not sure, I'd say it would be "normal"
You can set the difficulty in the console before loading the map, but I just left it as it was (whatever that may be)
The default difficulty is normal for most maps, if you have devmode on you can change it with this command while replacing the word difficulty with either easy, normal, hard, or impossible. Hard being heroic and impossible being legendary. game_difficulty_set DIfficulty Example: game_difficulty_set impossible
Pretty sure I didn't have open sauce installed at the time of this recording.
