    Love the conversion, where can i get the P28 installed and tuned on my corolla, im just running a 7AFE TURBO, love the low-end torque, im located in South Florida.

    Hey man, Im running 7agte too but with a 20v head, i corrected the timing with the lower timing gear. Anyway mines on bone stock 7A internal and running 15psi through it for almost a year now no issue at all. People on the internet seems to think their weak for some reason but... their not! its massive fun to drive haha

      haha just upgrade the rod bolts for extra insurance .. on my video you will see 7afe arp rod bolt part number grab those 😁 before you go more power and bigger boost 😉

      +Rollachriz I actually wanna keep pushing it until it blows so I know how good stock internal are for 😂,
      My 380cc injectors is completely maxed out at the moment. Wanting to drop 440 or 550 in and push more boost in 😂 I'm only running a tiny TD04L tho their only good for 19psi... Not far off now hahaha

      +Rollachriz I'm guessing I'm around 220-230hp at the wheels right now. It's in a TE71 corolla with T50 gearbox and T series diff... And I have broken one of each already hahaha

      +Brian Jeppesen haha yeah the gearbox not strong enough and the drive shaft either.. im using e series trannys now.. 220 whp fun ride.. once you get rods oistons and all 4age arp bottom end bolts flywheel bolt crank cap bolts ect its solid bottom end and will last 2-3 seasons racing before crank is shot around 500hp

    hey man those videos are such an inspiration! i really like what you have done. i have always wanted to to this honda ecu and dizzy and throttle body setup, but everyone on the internet said no!! so now i think i'm gonna do it :) but i have some questions regarding the dizzy since it's the hardest part, does it matter the way it rotates(cw or ccw)? how did you convert the gear on the original dizzy? is there anything important other than this to worry about?
    thanks in advance :)

      not sure which direction my friend my friend on tjis project car designed the shaft key bit if you want to call him thats fine! but i would recommend a standalone if you dont have access to shop materials and welding

    • @holdmywetnutz
      @holdmywetnutz  8 років тому

      also you would need a honda harness map sensor and a custom throttle pkate to mate to 4age so tje honda ecu can read the tps sensor.. we did tjis cause we all had the materials sitting around to avoid 1500$ standalone

      Radha Augustine . you can make a 7age black top. it turns the motor in to a 1.8L. So its a bigger motor with more power and torq. so the 7age is faster

    Can you give me some advice? I'm currently building an 7age with 9,4 pistons, bigport head (early), 7afe gasket (0,4) with stock ecu. I pretend an daily 7age, don't intend turbo or N/a hi rev or something. Do i need the clio ARP rod bolts (thank you by share) or stock will do? What rod bearings do you recommend? The only way to find these only on ebay. I'm from Portugal and the car it's an ae86 map sensor with 10,1 pistons! (sorry the long comment)

    • @holdmywetnutz
      @holdmywetnutz  8 років тому +1

      hey man mo prob.. i recomend a 4age head gasket.. you can use 7age but problem is compression may be high and i am unaware of what octane fuels are available to you.. and another note the 7afe head gasket has to be moddified two exta coolant gallery for 4age head to cool properly.. 4age 9 compression piston will raise it into 10 comp area if the block is decked to piston height if not decked like mine is the comps not as high and the engine is non interference only reason i did not deck the block because i skipped timing on boost before several times to the point ive eleminated the spring in the tentioner.. the clio bolts are fine for na all motor setup and original toyota bearings are fine i use them in all my engines.. but my number 1 rule law at the shop is use race oil only in theses motors or they spin bearing like any 4age.. i recommend any high zddp oils like vr1 race oil by valvoline.. 20w50 synthetic for na or boost.. its extra insurance to loose 5hp on 4age becuase they are know to get oil temps hot thin down the oil and spin bearings.. many of us believe the 4age clearances are not of 10w30 but of a more copy clearanced bigger gap race engine. the theory we live by has stopped all of us at the shop from blowing 4age bearings down to 60%..

    • @hugosilva7759
      @hugosilva7759 8 років тому +1

      Here we have ron95 and ron98. The deck height it's the stock 0,6 and with the 9,4 and the 0,4 gasket the compression will be around 10,5 (if my math is correct...)
      Until now i use castrol edge 5w30 or mobil 1 5w40 rally formula and never spun bearings... by other hand my driving it's daily and some trackdays and so far so good!
      The 7afe that i bought when check the oem bearings they ALL spun on the rods. Measured the rods and the crank... and they are fine without any kind of scratch or bent... thats why use the main oem bearings from 4age (same size but better material) but the 7A seem weak after look to them after spun. The 4A are trimetal and 7A (at least mine) seems to be some kind of alloy (softer and thats why didn't damaged the crank) and i'm affraid with those...
      The (new)oem rod bolts might do the trick with this setup or should use Arp for any setup?

    • @holdmywetnutz
      @holdmywetnutz  8 років тому +1

      +Hugo Siva well your daily i can see why you run those oils.. people over beat the daylights outta hondas evos ect street racing so 10w40 should be fine. well softer bearings do less damange to cranks but what ever bearing you decise is fine long as the engine is well lubercated.. you seem good to go on that ron 98.

    • @holdmywetnutz
      @holdmywetnutz  8 років тому +1

      +Hugo Siva yeah 7afe rods not the weak part its those weak flimsy rod bolts let loose at high rpm cause the rod starts to stretch.. i put 350whp on sock 7a rods with clio arp and eventually all 4 rods bent but the bolts held

    • @hugosilva7759
      @hugosilva7759 8 років тому +1

      holdmywetnutz thank you for your time! I see many people in several foruns saying this and that but all from others mouth. You are one of the few that really experience and share the REAL thing! Not what the friend said that is friend bend the rods without even know what was done to the engine. Everybody says "they are weak"(rods) but none of them break or bend them. As you said the bolts are a peace of crap! One of them damaged when i disassembled it! I'll buy the Arp's and the oem bearings and finish the engine. Wan't experience the torque and see if worth it! I've 2 ae86 one of them (was) an Usdm sr5, now with loom and euro bluetop installed and kouki rear axle with oem Lsd and 4,3 final ratio. I'm expecting an significant difference at general spec(not rev of course).
      Thank you for share it!

    Hey man do you got a sec to answer a few questions for me?? Id really appreciate it. My corolla threw a rod so i really really want to get it built to hold minimal 250 - 400 hp range. Im wanting to do this in my 95 5 speed corolla dx 1.8. Cash in hand to get every part needed for the build. I just need a complete parts list so i know where to start. (Im one with little experience so a complete parts list would be much appreciated.

      On a spare block you Need forged pistons and forged aftermarket oversized rods depending on the block condition for cylinder boring. According to local.machine shop they will tell you the oversized piston that should be purchased. You need All new rod and main bearings also clearanced for thicker oil and 400hp reliability. The following ARP race hardware form a 4age engine will fit 1.8 7afe...arp flywheel bolts, arp mainstuds, arp head studs.. you would need to get the whole bottom end block assembly hot tanked (cleaned) and fully balanced. Since you have no experience.. I wouldn't build the engine yourself if your not experienced based in oil clearances and hire a professional machanic or machinist with the old mentality loose is fast.

    • @holdmywetnutz

      You can turbo it but not crazy like 300hp cause stock pistons are weak.. you can boost it moderately. Over seas the sportive has a turbo 7afe stock form but like 8 or 9psi. Buddy of mine ran 13psi but it all depends on the tune.. if your gonna spend money to turbocharge I recommend doing pistons and rods as soon as you get a tune because boost is addicting and you may turn it up pass what the piston can handle.. but overall yes mild low boost the 7afe will do just fine
