This song references the Jacobite risings in the early and mid-eighteenth century, calling all Scots to join in the action of the rebellion. Jacobitism is a movement that supports the restoration of the senior line of the House of Stuart to the British throne, rather than the House of Hanover. This song was recorded by The Corries on their album Barrett’s Privateers, released in 1987.
