  • In this video, I head off to a favourite pine wood to test out a new hot tent and cook up some breakfast. The Black Orca ‘Smokey Hut’ tent from OneTigris is a super lightweight Silnylon pyramid tent what can be used with a wood burning tent heater for winter camping or hot tenting.
OneTigris kindly sent me this tent to try out and being so impressed by it, I really wanted to share it with you. This isn’t a review, but more a first impressions video and an opportunity to try it out with my old .50cal ammo can tent heater. Whilst the wood stove is lit and the tent nice and cosy, I escape the rain and wind outside and cook up some eggs and sausage for breakfast - oh, and some seriously hot hot sauce than nearly blew my head off!
I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

Hey Simon I'd LOVE to see a light stove build in your future. I've made a few that work great, one is out of a 1 gallon tin can and beer bottles for the chimney! I've seen a cool stove made from those tiny beer kegs;) cheers from USA

      Love the tent!.
I too own a Polish Laavu and indeed pretty heavy compared to this gem. Wanna have one for sure. You can just tuck it away in the backpack with ease.
CO alarm is a must indeed, thanks for warning the viewers, not every youtubing bushcrafter does that. ..
Got one same moment of buying my stove! (big stove)
But for a cold wintersday thing to do i am gonna build a 50cal ammobox stove next month.
And yes it is gonna be a bit like yours.. good example turna to good following.
Cheers and keep thwm video's comming please. like to watch them.

I live in Barcelona and have been recently hiking up in the mountains about a couple of hours north (welcome any time!) and I've been wanting to do some winter camping up there. Now i know i can get a lightweight tent that i can put a wood burner in (I'm definitely in for the competition too!), I'm thrilled, as there's a fair bit of hiking up there and I didn't want to be taking really heavy gear. Thanks again, great video and go easy on the hot sauce next time! hahaha

I'm in!! Great review of the tent. I've been thinking about getting this tent for awhile now, it's nice to see it in action.

Use to have a Lavvo but it got stolen some years ago and I never bothered to by a new one. It was also to heavy carry around by my self on longer trips. Now watching your video I suddenly realize how much I miss this type of tent. It would be absolutely perfect for me and my two dogs. All year around.
I really appreciate how you talked about safety which is very important.

Great content as always Simon. So nice of you to take the time and do these videos. I and my Son really enjoy them. Are you going to the bushcraft show next year? We would love to say hello. Light weight tents are always great options for small guys like me. So yes I’m in. Thanks👍🏻

Fantastic review, loved the tech approach with the infrared thermometer. Great to see how it performed in real life. I’m in.

Great video 👍. The more I research, the more I'm leaning towards the One Tigris for myself. One alteration I'm thinking of in setting up mine. I'll be doing is a simple breezeway by attaching a simple tarp made of similar material for extra storage room/sleeping room. I'll be sure to post it when I set it up. Thanks for the video. I'll definitely keep watching 😊

I love your videos you can count me out for the tent. Now that I've seen your review I'll just go buy me one. I hope you find someone deserving for the tent. Please keep making your videos 🙏
