- In this video, I head off to the woods on my bike on a bike-packing mini adventure.Having found a nice spot amongst the pines, I set up my tarp and hammock and begin to get things ready for an enjoyable evening of good food and the relaxing rhythm of the forest.
Liver and onions is on the menu, washed down with a superb beer - before settling down to a comfortable night’s sleep, swinging in the light summer breeze.

I've never had lamb liver and I mean to look into it now. I've had beef and pork liver. Don't care for the pork. Really looked tasty to me!
I'd also like to try the Knorr stock pots.
I am the only one who eats liver and bacon in my family. I will have to try your one pan cook.
@@maryblaylock6545 my mum always did lambs liver, I think she preferred it, but I discovered years after leaving home I preferred beef liver. It’s all good, I love my bistro gravy too… yum. I miss my mums cooking, she was a great cook.
A great looking meal. My wife and I haven't had liver and onion for a long time. I've a mind to remedy that very soon.

I really like these videos, makes me want to go camping like I use to when I was younger. I used to just find a good place by myself and go fishing, have a few beers, a good meal, great times.

My health brought me down so i have not even attempted going camping. Its been 2 years since i got to kayak also, even longer to canoe. I grew up with mom making beef liver and onions all the time. Now when I go and visit my dad he always has me make it, except now it's buffalo because he knows a guy that raises them. Take care

I'm quite impressed at how well equipped you were considering the lack of carrying capacity. I guess you just gotta make sure not to take stuff you don't need.
That’s the key mate - take the bare essentials and if items can have multiple uses, even better (but allow room for a couple of luxuries!) 😁

A little idea to save water is to turn your frypan upside down over the fire and burn off the remnants.

Primeval. That's the word that comes to mind for this one. Some of the shots of you cooking over the fire, the bird sounds, the morning sunlight through the trees. Could have been yesterday, or a million years ago.
That forest did have that feel about it - tall pines and ferns - love it! 😁

It’s amazing how much you can pack on that bike.
While your liver and onions looked good, they are not my cup of tea. I grew up we had them at least once a month, with mashed potatoes, and canned spinach with onions, chopped hard boiled eggs, and vinegar. It was always the same every month for years and years. I won’t eat it now.
Cor blimey, you had me at the liver, bacon, onion and gravy. I luv mushrooms but hadn't thought about it in with liver. Have to try that. Yes my good ole Mum got me to enjoy my liver. Cheers
Another excellent video Simon. You mentioned that you’d only bought limited water. Maybe a 2 or 3 Ltr cycling Camelbak might be a low profile option for more significantly water capacity. Just a thought 🙂
