Tomorrow is my birthday. I always watch your product reviews to gauge what I should buy and get good quality information. I was going to just pull the trigger on this but my girl literally just had me open the T300 RS GT. I’m very happy
Ended up ordering one in part due to your video. Coming from a T300 and a T150 before that with TLCM pedals. After an evening with it I'm surprised its as big of a jump as it is from the T300. Across the board from build quality to the feedback you get from Gran Turismo 7. Nice surprise is how absolutely quiet it is. The biggest surprise for me? I actually love the pedals. I've got the load cell coming next month but could easily survive without it. These pedals are far better than the cheap stuff you get from Thrustmaster (maybe the TGT pedals are better but my buddy with the TGT is dieing to take my TLCMs off my hands which were a huge upgrade over my other Thrustmaster pedals that I could now easily live without with the CSL pedals sans the load cell kit). I'll note for anyone looking at this I went straight for the 8nm boost kit. I can't speak to anything about the 5nm, I just went all in though I did lose the $20 discount ordering the load cell separately so everything else would ship immediately. If you're thinking about it and can afford it do it, you won't regret it but probably go for the boost kit out the gate, that seems to be the consensus from just about everyone.
my sim racing journey has gone like this: g29, t300, TGT, csw v2.5, DD1, simucube 2 pro... csl dd pro 8nm. i spent so much money buying gear for the wrong reasons, i wanted the best because i thought it would feel better and make me a better driver but the sacrifice i made in doing so was not being able to play the games i wanted to play, was all well and good having a simucube 2 pro but i always knew the day would come when a game like GT7 drops and i wont be using the simucube 2 pro and id have to pretend i didn't want to play GT7 anyway because i was a ''real sim racer'' truth was, i did want to play it and i didn't give two shits about being a hardcore sim racer so i sold the simucube and ordered a csl dd pro, im happier now knowing im racing for the right reasons, because i actually am playing the game i want to play and not pretending i never wanted to anyway. what a crazy hobby though. thing is, now i have to go to bed and ask myself did i mean what i just said or do i wish i had kept the simucube really.
I'm on the same journey. G29, t300, then T3PA pedals, then Ferrari rim, then sparco 33cm rally rim. Then on Friday was TGT2 servo base and T-LCM pedals. I'm sure I'm done now. The TGT is plenty smooth and strong, the transducer is awesome for interpreting under and oversteer and the loadcell pedals are awesome.
I borrowed a G29 from a friend and bought a Playseat challenge. I really enjoy it with GT7. Would you say it is worth getting the GT DD Pro? Is it that much better if I mainly play GT7?
@@Alex-HD the G29 honestly feels like a toy compared to something like the thrusmaster T300 with a good rim like the Ferrari alcantara or sparco. The jump to DD will be insanely impressive. But it's quite a commitment, because soon you'll want the 8nm power system, then some decent loadcell pedals, shifter, hand break. And then also a bigger wheel rim. All depends on how seriously you're going to take the hobby. I have the TGT2 wheelbase with a big sparco wheel, it's amazing, even compared with the t300. I'll definitely upgrade to a thrusmaster DD base when it's available, and keep all my accessories.
This was a great video. Showing so many different closeups actually gives us a good idea of what the product looks like. Plus your style of editing is entertaining
I appreciate this video a lot! Just ordered a newly offered standalone version of the base which is automatically bundled with the 8nm powerpack. Im happy to be hyped for it haha!
Quite tempted to finally pull the trigger and buy one. Have had a T300RS for years… was scared with how many people claim theirs had broke but mines soldiered on. Amazing quality video!
Thank you for a great review. Based on this (and a few others) I bought this bundle and I agree with everything you said. Coming from a Logitech G923, this bundle costs about twice as much but it is exponentially better. In other words, 100% worth the extra cost if want more realism, functionality and performance. And I also agree that the added loadcell and power supply are worth the expense and will be added by many purchasers. Including them makes this package more than triple the Logitech which would have been off-putting for me as I didn’t know what I was missing. If you’ve never drive a DD rig it might seem excessive. Once you have experienced DD you will understand the added value. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for your thoughtful reviews and keep up the great channel!
I had the CSL 2.5 wheel base which was a bit more expensive (whole package with shipping to Canada cost about $1400+ with duties) and had the load cell and CSL pedals, rally wheel, and clamp. It eventually hurt my weak ass wrists with too much use because it was so much damn fun playing Dirt Rally 2.0 (still the best rally game) and a bunch of other games. Gran turismo was ok.. but felt very Arcady compared to a lot of other games. Try rally 2.0 if you haven’t.
Just wondering: you are used to high level DD wheels. so to you the differnece in force is very noticeable and will leave you wanting vor more very very quick. For me however, using a T300 it feels like I will have a longer period that it will satisfy me, so to me it really makes sense to start with this base and slowly upgrade, especially because of budget reasons. In the end I will have spend maybe a little more, but the investment is spread out over a longer period of time, so it is not a big hit on my day to day spending.
I use the T300 also. Is good for now, but am considering to buy a Direct Drive. Just because you don't have the belt and DD is more accurate. Also you can put in corrections faster when you're about to apin.
I just got my DD Pro coming from a T300 and its a huge upgrade. I went straight for the 8nm boost kit. Would definitely recommend it but if you couldn't afford it I could easily see you still finding the 5nm probably a big upgrade. Personally I'm finding the 8nm to be really strong even on just a 2 sensitivity in GT7. Its kind of hard for me to wrap my head around there being wheels that are 2-3x stronger. I would still suggest going straight for the boost kit out the gate but if you can't you can't and you're still going to find this a big upgrade over the T300. Evening having TLCM pedals, which was my one hang-up going this route since the load cell kit can't ship until next month, I'm surprised by how good the regular pedals feel.
7:20 "T-Nuts can also be inserted on the bottom or side of wheelbase" ... proceeds to show how not to mount t-nuts. sorry dude some people just get triggered (yes i think i have ocd). still good video thank you. the thing is ordered.
I had my standalone DD Pro (8Nm), CSL Pedals LC and CSL WRC rim delivered a few days ago. Wow. It's in a different league to my T300 setup. I ignored the base GT bundle as it lacked the LC pedal, lacked the 8Nm power, and also I don't think that much of the official GT rim. I didn't like the Thrustmaster GTS version either.
@@gladtidings3 It's better - much better. Smoother and much quieter. It just feels more immersive and can maintain 100% FFB all of the time unlike the T300 which always ends up in reduced power modes due to overheating. The speed of a DD wheelbase in comparison to something like the T300 makes also it easier to catch slides etc meaning you get to keep it on the track more of the time. Does it make you faster? No.
Good overview. I like the DD Pro hub and even the pedals but finding the wheel too small, crushes my thumbs and the rubber coating is already showing signs of wear after only a couple of weeks. If you buy I'd suggest you need to budget for a replacement wheel at some point.
I’m sure I’ll do exactly what you said eventually. But with fanatic super low on stick of wheels this is a sure fire way of getting started while I wait for more wheels to get in stock. Thanks for the honest review.
I’m just going to say this now, if you’re coming from a g29 or something similar, you will NOT Be disappointed. At this price point you will not want more. I mean of course we all want more ;) but it is seriously such a good wheel! I’ve been using it for about 2 months now and I can say I’m very pleased with the 5 nm that comes out of the box!
I'm not a simracer, but I'm looking at a second hand set in the future. I have bus/truck sim setup complete with dashboard and have been using a heavily modified G27 for it. It works, but I have to help it autocalibrate because there's a truck wheel on it which the G27 can't move quickly enough all on it's own. I got it for free so I definitely can't complain about that, but I got it solely because a colleague asked me to check it out because it suffered center-drift in games (encoder disc was fractured in like 10 places and slipped as a result, I was surprised it was still on the motor axle actually). It turned out to have more than just a broken encoder disc and suffered a massive crack in the gear and steering axle housing, along with a broken encoder sensor PCB that had 2 cracks running through some traces. The broken encoder disc and it's sensor PCB were both solved with some DIY'ing, but the crack in the housing has not been. Because of the heavy truck wheel that is on the G27 (separated from a direct connection by having it rest on an old bicycle headset) it is big, very heavy and difficult to calibrate because of the angle the G27 sits at (Made some DIY brackets that angled the wheel upwards on the piece of wood it sits on so the connection is as straight as possible. Recently I noticed that with every time the truck wheel hits the endstop during autocalibration (I modified the rotational range, it is capable of about 2290 degrees of rotation lock to lock) the crack in the gear and axle case widens for a short moment due to the stresses on it which made me decide to look for a good second hand offer. So for me it's definitely not about setting new records, it's mostly all about solving some very physical, real-world problems with my current setup :P . I am interested to see though how it holds up with the truck wheel.
8:03 really? Yes, a strong force is needed if you insert it this way. shove it in straight and you won't have to use much force and you wont damage it overtime...
I got one in 8nm with the load cell kit day one, but that just because I wanted a clutch pedal. I went from floppy thrustmaster pedals to the load cell. Oddly enough, that was way more of a game changer than the awesome wheel.
im seriuosly considering getting this wheel now, i was considering a t300rs but i think this vid has made my decision nowm this wheel will be the one i will be going for
Awesome! Feel free to use my affiliate links (linked in video description) if you do end up making the purchase. At no extra cost to you it gives me a small cut which helps me keep making these videos :)
5nm felt perfectly fine to me, right up until I moved it from a desk mount to a proper rig......instantly it felt dainty. Suffice to say I've got the booster pack on order.
The thing that got me about this bundle, well the upgraded pedals and 8nm version, was that you can get the same LC pedals, an 8nm DD1, and the McLaren wheel for less. I was told you are essentially paying for PS compatibility so as a pc user I think it is better to buy the components individually.
I mean, that's the point of this isn't it? It's specifically made/targetted for Gran Turismo on the Playstation with PC compatibility as a side feature. If you just need one for the PC, Fanatec as you stated has other offerings at a better price point. With that context, this is the best Playstation compatible wheel bundle out there. If you're purely a PC user, why are you even looking at this then?
@@jed1mstr Fanatec's website is not promoting this as a Playstation-specific bundle. The premium package is at the top of their bundle section and says 'PC. XBox Ready. PS' in that order, left to right. That looks like they are aiming to sell this to people who use PC or XBox, not just PS users. Fanatec has a very large set of wheels and the prices of their entry-level stuff has traditionally been a fair bit higher than Logitech (quality reasons obviously) and Thrustmaster. Both of these would likely put off people who do not have a lot of knowledge and/or limited budgets. Bundles as a general rule offer a more affordable package than putting together a bespoke one choosing the individual components. This is normally because the bundle utilises cheaper stuff. They attract people with limited knowledge and limited budgets. This bundle is more expensive, albeit not by much, than the equivalent wheelbase, pedals, and wheel on the cheaper end of the scale. That, to me, is a little bit naughty. If they were marketing it on their website predominantly for PS users and/or Gran Turismo enthusiasts that would be fine. But they are not. In point of fact the only complete bundles in that section are the various GT DD Pro ones.
@@Meylan191083 How can you NOT think that the GT (Gran Turismo) DD Pro which is the officially licensed Playstation wheel for Gran Turismo (again it's in the name) that was also designed in conjunction with Polyphony Digital, the Developers of Gran Turismo which is a Playstation exclusive title, isn't a product primarily marketed to Playstation users? It's even in the first description text: "Introducing the official Direct Drive Wheel for Gran Turismo®. Combining PlayStation®5 console performance with FANATEC® Direct Drive technology for the smoothest and most dynamic force feedback sensations." Also Playstation buttons? The order of the compatibility labels (PC, XBox Read, PS) is purely a general website thing with shared assets and has nothing to do with how this Playstion specific licensed peripheral is marketed.
@@jed1mstr The absence of any other bundle. Yes if you click on the description it is full of Gran Turismo and Playstation references. Hardly surprising. But the lack of any other bundle on that page suggests that Fanatec are attempting to sell this to a much wider range of users and doing so in what, to me, is a sneaky way. A less experienced PC user will gravitate to the bundle page (which is why it is there), see that this is PC compatible as well and think it is a great deal. I know this, because I nearly got caught out by it. The wheel itself did not interest me but the loadcell pedals, and direct drive wheelbase did, to the point where I would have accepted a wheel I wasn't particularly into as a compromise way to get the other parts cheaply. I only stumbled onto the fact that it is actually MORE expensive when I put together a spreadsheet of the costs with a view to justifying the intended purchase to my girlfriend on the basis that as a bundle it is cheaper than buying the individual components.
@@Meylan191083 I think that's more a you issue for not catching on to the fact that "Gran Turismo" DD Pro, a Gran Turismo Playstation officially licensed wheel as shown in all the regular marketing, videos, commercials, etc, was Playstation targetted when you went to a single Fanatec Page. Yes, you can argue that it can catch people out, but come on.
I just bought the 5nm dd pro today and looking forward to it upgrading from T150. Only using for gt7 on ps4 do I need to update firmware or can you just plug in and play. Also how long did it take to come in mail? Hope you answer love your videos bro keep up great work.
Quick question : i'm considering upgrading my G27. Do you think that the DD Pro (5nm) is a good upgrade, with the load cell and boost kit coming after as an upgrade when my finances have recovered ?
@@TheEpyonz my question was on getting the boost pack later, not on upgrading the wheel itself ! Of course going from logitech to Fanatec is going to be a nice upgrade, but i was wondering if delaying the boost kit upgrade is a nice idea
Ok so here is my question.... on this review I pretty much saw 90% Asseto Corsa and not GT7.... I read on another review that Asseto Corsa on PS has very subpar feedback on this particular wheel (not an issue on Xbox supposedly) so I'm a little bit hesitant on trusting the feedback part given I THINK he's making this review based on AC and not GT7... any thoughts?
HAve you tried it with the desk clamp? I don't have space for a wheelstand or rig so that's why I'm asking if it would work anyway, also thinking about upgrading to the csl dsk clamp instead as it seem more robust since it's not plastic although I won't have the tilt function si the base will sit flat on top of the table so might be a bit to low for my liking.....
I am strictly a PlayStation player when it comes to racing Sims. Do I have to hook this wheel up to a PC to download updates for it or is it just plug-in play for the PlayStation console?
My DD Pro has just cleared Customs so I wanted a recent POV of the package. Thank you for that. I do feel that all the reviews tend to come from people who have or have experienced DD before. It's like driving a supercar then getting into a hot hatch. Still loads of fun but you can't unlearn the prior experience even if the hot hatch is a step up from your daily grocery getter. I'll try to remember to let you know what it feels like going from a G25 that I've had for over 15 years straight to a DD wheel. Thanks, excellent video. I will get the load cell later this year and probably another wheel for PC sim games.
Hey man, how does it feel, it's been quite sometime since ur comment. I want to upgrade and they are fully out of stock. Do u think a used setup is worth it for around 1k Canadian dollars?
@@randomperson6125 Okay, first of all, it feels great and better than the G25 but mainly in the smoothness and the strength. It was worth the price and the wait and other than one sim, the set-up has been really easy. I still haven''t gotten the load cell brake but that's on the Christmas list. Because of the shortage of stock, used wheels are going to be in demand and more expensive than normal. If the 1K Cdn $$ is all in (shipping, taxes and so forth then it's not much different than what I paid new. You'll have to decide if it's worth it but I'm really happy I bought the DD Pro and can use it on all my sims including GT& and F1 2022.
@@ronknox3376 thanks for the detailed reply and yea since they are out of stock, used setups are overpriced and so cost more than new. Even If they do come back in stick, shipping and handling together add a lot of other unnecessary cost. Might just go for it since its the 8nm version and I am buying it off of Facebook marketplace. Hopefully its a good one and worth it.
They have been very crafty with the boost kit in my opinion and made the basic package just not enough and as I am typing this you are saying pretty much exactly the same.😆 Great video thanks bro. ✌️😎
I am trying to find a direct-drive bundle that is for both PS4 and PC and I can't find a cheaper than this. I am seriously thinking about T300 even if it is not direct-drive :(
Hello amazing video great review 👍 I would like to ask you please I live in the UK how much was the total price£? And how long did you have to wait from the time that you clicked to buy to delivery to the house 🏘️ I have an Xbox Sirius x and a PlayStation 5 as well watch would you recommend thank you 😊 I subscribed to your wonderful channel and smashed that like
I ordered the €700 kit on the 8th March to the UK and it is supposedly arriving tomorrow morning by UPS. So far the base kit has cost £505 and I'm expecting to pay VAT (20%) and import fees (2.5%) so I've worked out this will be roughly £620 delivered.
Strange that the clutch isn't included with the base model. If you are spending that much money, then get the clutch. I'm assuming a shifter option is extra.
It does seem weird at first look, but this is actually the least expensive direct drive option on the market, and it seems that comes with some sacrifices in the peripherals. Margins are likely pretty thin on this, because they're packing a lot of performance and high-end build into an affordable unit, so instead of sacrificing performance of the wheel itself by reducing quality there, you get a base unit that's rock-solid and high-performing along with a serviceable option in the pedals that can later be upgraded if you desire. I think it makes sense to keep the quality high in the core, most expensive part of the package and allow for customization in the more easily upgraded parts.
You can only use a Thrustmaster shifter along w a Fanatec base if it plugs in via usb to a PC. So it won’t work on PlayStation unless you use a Thrustmaster wheelbase
hi i went from a g29 to a tgt with load cell pedals and the difference was it was much more immersive and realistic than the g29 and so much smoother smashed my previous stage and lap times in my racing games which are mainly wrc 9 & 10 f1 2022 dirt rally 2.0 now i always turn the Force feedback down as i like to use a lightish feel especially on rally games i now cant afford a DD wheel as im now retired at 60 yrs of age my biggest worry is if my tgt were to pack up what cud i have as a back up ? i have the f1 wheel ferrari evo30 , and the sparco rally wheel which is my favourite so ive seen the T300 servo only for £239.99 would you say this would be ok simply as a back up wheel ?? and worth getting just in case ?? some people say the T300 is actually smoother than the tgt ? any advice much appreciated thankyou
I didn’t necessarily order it. It was sent to me by Fanatec for review purposes so I have no idea how long it took to arrive since I have no clue when it left for delivery in the first place.
I’m hoping you can help. I just got mine in and it’s the same as you reviewed. I feel it load up going into turn and as I apply gas it starts to shake it almost feels like cars tires are hopping
Thinking about buying this package but my main concern is the brake. Since i dont have a sim rig the pedals have to be on the floor, will i to apply 100% brake pressure since you cant adjust the resistance like on my current g29. Thanks for any help
Once again another quality video one suggestion if you can maybe do a review on the T-GT II from thrustmaster I’ll be cool so have a honest preview from them maybe even a comparison
So, can console players not hook the dd up to a pc and adjust the settings on fanalab and then have it save to the dd? Or does it just go back to default settings once you unplug it?
So if I understand correctly I have to buy an Xbox wheel in addition to the $700 bundle for my series x? I'll get the ps5 wheel whether I want it or not? Would I be better off (price wise) buying individual components? Is the Xbox wheel PC compatible? Thanks
Yes, you’re correct. You have to buy an Xbox compatible Fanatec wheel to use this wheelbase on Xbox. Currently, the GT DD Pro wheelbase is not available as a standalone. Thus, you must buy the bundle which starts at $700 and comes with everything shown in this video. The Xbox compatible CSL DD can be bought as a standalone for $350 and works with Xbox and PC but never PlayStation. If you go that route, you’ll have to buy a wheel and pedals separately
Bro, my Thrustmaster T150 pro base stopped working suddenly after being used for 4 years continuously, now i am planning to upgrade, as there are no direct drive wheels available in India. My only option is Thrustmaster TS-XW. Or should I go for the cheaper option Thrustmaster t248 as Thrustmaster officially does not have a service center in India
You provided just enough criticism to make this review seem vaguely plausible. So as a reviewer you'll gain more free stuff from Fanatec. From Fanatec's perspective it was well worth sending you a free sample because your conclusion not only validates their product, but then suggests a user spend a few hundred dollars more on their already VASTLY over priced products to be really happy. Way to go Fanatec!
Good information, but one little detail was not mentionned - end price. More specificly, the UPS service costs to get any FANATEC products delivered to you, because they don't sell in shops. If the kit cost is 500, the buyer will have to spend another 3 to 5 hundred to get it delivered, in questionable condition as UPS are known to be a bad item courrier yet very expencive. FANATEC will remain out of reach for all potential buyers in the future as well.
This is the reason I won’t buy Fanatec at the moment, I can buy Thrustmaster anywhere and know what I am paying with next day delivery. Fanatec is direct from the factory with hundreds in unknown charges and taxes after purchase with unknown delivery times.
@@S41t4r4 it just isn't very consumer friendly. The buying experience is awkward, not really about the final figure, it would just be much more enticing if I could buy it, know exactly what I am paying and know when I will receive it. Paying for something when I have no idea when I will receive it, it proving a sticking point. That's why I haven't purchased yet.
I'm thinking of getting the 700€ bundle when they become available once again. At the moment they are sold out. I've only had the T300rs and it broke down after 5 times of using it. No power anymore so I had it refunded. After doing some research I found out they have a lot of problems :/ It seems these Fanatec products are pretty reliable :)
I don't know it it's the DD Pro or the FFB coding in GT7 but it's not worth it at all. You get more control and feeling from the gamepad than from the wheel.
You can build your own 8nm power supply. I built my own for less than $50. Bunch of UA-cam videos on it. Paying $150 for a 180 watt power supply is stupid.
Is there something wrong with my DD pro , oscillation even on straightaways, losing control of car for no reason (on controller would never happen) and firmware and settings are all updated.
I may get this solely on the fact that I have both ps5 and xsx. Want wheels for both but would make more sense to get this instead of like 2 thrustmaster or Logitech sets
Hey I have a Thrustmaster wheel and I wanted to ask, do I have to update the firmware if I play on ps4? And if I do need to update it, if I already used the wheel for some time can I still update it? Thanks
p.s you say Logitech pedals are mainly plastic but in fact they are quality metal pedals set onto a steel plate with just a plastic cover on top .The pedal plates are really well made and ground aluminum where it counts the plastic is saved for where it doesn't matter .Fanatec are still good pedals but very noisy tho.
So to be 100% if I get this base with the nascar rim and the Xbox button set it’ll work on Xbox and pc correct? I’m sorry i want to be sure before I spend all this money on it lol

I also went from T300 to CSL DD (8Nm) with Formula V2. I agree the difference huge, i hardly ever run it at full power.
So how was it 😊
my sim racing journey has gone like this: g29, t300, TGT, csw v2.5, DD1, simucube 2 pro... csl dd pro 8nm.
i spent so much money buying gear for the wrong reasons, i wanted the best because i thought it would feel better and make me a better driver but the sacrifice i made in doing so was not being able to play the games i wanted to play, was all well and good having a simucube 2 pro but i always knew the day would come when a game like GT7 drops and i wont be using the simucube 2 pro and id have to pretend i didn't want to play GT7 anyway because i was a ''real sim racer''
truth was, i did want to play it and i didn't give two shits about being a hardcore sim racer so i sold the simucube and ordered a csl dd pro, im happier now knowing im racing for the right reasons, because i actually am playing the game i want to play and not pretending i never wanted to anyway. what a crazy hobby though.
thing is, now i have to go to bed and ask myself did i mean what i just said or do i wish i had kept the simucube really.
I think you made the right decision. Sometimes it’s more about having fun than trying to be 100% realistic
Wow that’s dope. My question is What is the best racing wheel have you tried or used?
Good to hear, thanks :)
I don't know how you produce so many videos and such a high quality. I can tell you put a insane amount of work into these.
Phenomenal quality to the production kudos
Oh my god your videos are getting better and better each time you upload!! Bravo!!
The best review I have come across, Thanks mate!
Glad to hear, Patrick. Cheers :)
I would totally agree with you. At the end of the day, the 5nm is enough for most people it may just not be what I’m used to.
I got the 8Nm CSL DD after the T300. It's a big step dude. Its great.
@@sjamwala No, the dd pro is complete scam… I come from a t300 and the dd pro has no strong ffb at all
the editing keeps getting better, nice work 👍
7:20 "T-Nuts can also be inserted on the bottom or side of wheelbase" ... proceeds to show how not to mount t-nuts. sorry dude some people just get triggered (yes i think i have ocd).
still good video thank you. the thing is ordered.
my fav sim racing content creator
You’re too kind 🙏
I had my standalone DD Pro (8Nm), CSL Pedals LC and CSL WRC rim delivered a few days ago. Wow. It's in a different league to my T300 setup.
I ignored the base GT bundle as it lacked the LC pedal, lacked the 8Nm power, and also I don't think that much of the official GT rim. I didn't like the Thrustmaster GTS version either.
is DD pro better than T300? Where you be able to achieve better lap times in racing because of DD pro?
@@gladtidings3 It's better - much better. Smoother and much quieter. It just feels more immersive and can maintain 100% FFB all of the time unlike the T300 which always ends up in reduced power modes due to overheating.
The speed of a DD wheelbase in comparison to something like the T300 makes also it easier to catch slides etc meaning you get to keep it on the track more of the time.
Does it make you faster? No.
Extremely detailed and well made review!! Bravo!
Thanks Rudy! Stay tuned for more 👀
Good overview. I like the DD Pro hub and even the pedals but finding the wheel too small, crushes my thumbs and the rubber coating is already showing signs of wear after only a couple of weeks. If you buy I'd suggest you need to budget for a replacement wheel at some point.
Finally a Fanatec Wheel in your channel, let's gooooo!

Thank you, Alex! Will do :)

Gon’ make me cry man 🥲
I’m sure I’ll do exactly what you said eventually.
Are you a serious sport driver or just casual driver? Did you improve times? Im on g29
How about g923
Nicely balanced short review, thanks.
Thanks for watching :)
im seriuosly considering getting this wheel now, i was considering a t300rs but i think this vid has made my decision nowm this wheel will be the one i will be going for

Glad I could help. Cheers 🍻
Can you use the Fanatec Clubsport pedals V3 with the GT DD Pro?

Absolutely!
@@OCRacing can you please say no ? Otherwise i'm going to eat pastas for the next months and the bank is going to hate me 😂
Yes - be careful though, you're going to want to upgrade quickly
Come on, do you even have to ask? The g27 is like baseline.
Feedback on ACC, ps5 is super incredible. Lesser in GT7.
HAve you tried it with the desk clamp? I don't have space for a wheelstand or rig so that's why I'm asking if it would work anyway, also thinking about upgrading to the csl dsk clamp instead as it seem more robust since it's not plastic although I won't have the tilt function si the base will sit flat on top of the table so might be a bit to low for my liking.....
love this editing.
Mine has just cleared customs, here tomorrow!
How’s it been??
nice video buddy. worth getting this? currently on t300rs gt
Which cockpit are you using at 9:24?
I’m new at this sim racing so I got the 5NM first to see how it feel for the first time.
@OCRacing what is the name of that smaller rig you have by the night stand? I don't have much room, and that looks like a perfect size for my setup
That was the Trak Racer tr8!
I have the thrustmaster TGT-2 with load cell pedals. Is this worth the upgrade to get over them?
In this case which one you suggest then ?
@OC Racing please respond: is brake pedal stiffer than that in G29 pedalset? Thanks
@OC Racing.
If Fanatec were to sell the wheel as a stand alone component what price would you consider reasonable ?
Good quality, honest review 👍 8nm seems like the way to go
They have been very crafty with the boost kit in my opinion and made the basic package just not enough and as I am typing this you are saying pretty much exactly the same.😆 Great video thanks bro.
That last line makes it seem like a wheel with more the 5Nm is an indulgence, maybe even a little gluttonous. lol
Thanks for the great detail in your vid. I just hope that you are racing with both feet, you will be much faster. Peace!
Yup! Just race with one foot in some videos so you can get a good look at the pedals and my legs don’t get in the way of the shot 😅
Get the 8nM boost kit. Its double the power. Yes… 5 + 3 = 8… but ask anyone including Jardier in youtube… its double.. very powerful.
Great video! Thanks OC Racing! 8:12 Can you use Thrustmaster Shifter with the Fanatec GT DD Pro on Playstation? Or is it plugged into your pc?
You can only use a Thrustmaster shifter along w a Fanatec base if it plugs in via usb to a PC. So it won’t work on PlayStation unless you use a Thrustmaster wheelbase
@7:24 Why is the t-nut upside down? The flared part goes into the channel on the bottom of the base.
I like your videos though.

Do the pedals and base hard mount on the play seat evolution?
PlayStation has its security bypass chip in the wheel base while Xbox has it in the steering wheel.
Hey
Can i mount the fanatec csl dd on the f-gt lite?
(Love your vids keep it up)
I believe you can.
Bro, my Thrustmaster T150 pro base stopped working suddenly after being used for 4 years continuously,
now i am planning to upgrade, as there are no direct drive wheels available in India.
Shipping for me was only $30, no big deal. Also it got shipped through fedex. Even at that the box is very well packed.
