Hello Kireth; It was nice to have you in Landshut and you are welcome to review our products just like several other reviewers which are not affiliate partners. Pricing is a bit mixed up and confusing. So lets talk about all pricing in GBP and incl. 20% VAT, OK? Fanatec GT DDX: 1106 GBP (converted from 1299,95 Euro) Logitech Pro: 999 GBP (on Amazon) Moza R16 + KS Wheel: 1237 GBP (Note that prices on website do not show the 20% VAT you have to pay on import). The correct product to compare would be the R21 as it has a more similar constant torque as the GT DDX Keep up the good work and your entertaining videos. Thomas
@@kurauk There are many ways to Rome and the result counts. The CS DD+ is extremely smooth and this is what matters. Specs can be very misleading and the torque is an excellent example for that. It makes a huge difference if the power is consistent lap by lap as your muscle memory needs to get used to it. Our industry leading slew rate means nothing if it would not lead into the instant response you can immediately feel.
@@thomasjackermeier3343 I really would like to know, why the price of the CS DD went up by 100€ not even a month after release, now it has terrible price/performance in comparison to the competition.
@lukebennellick4315 I am very sorry to hear that. There are no bad intentions nor are we ignoring you. We simply still have a very big backlog of unanswered e-mails but rest assured that we will come back to you at some point.
Your intro raises some important points, and explains exactly why we (and most other reviewers) have affiliate links for just about every brand and disclose them at the start of every video. That way people can choose to use our links if they want to support our work, or choose not to if they don’t. But it also means we aren’t incentivised to promote any particular brand as it ultimately makes little to no difference which product someone buys. Ultimately it boils down to this, if a reviewer is being dishonest or biased in their videos and what they say about a product doesn’t match the experience customers have, they will lose their credibility and get no views, which means nobody will use their links. Affiliate programs when used ethically and transparently are a great way for reviewers to make their work sustainable. Unfortunately there are some content creators who don’t disclose affiliate links or their relationships with manufacturers and this is not only a very big problem as you correctly highlight, but also against UA-cam’s terms and conditions. Also… turning the strength down on a more powerful base limits its dynamic range output. It doesn’t “preserve the same level of detail”.
@@Kireththanks. It’s always a difficult balance and you of course can’t please everyone. Honestly and transparency wins in the end. Happy to discuss this all further with you over chat if you’d ever like to. It’s an important topic that deserves more attention than it gets.
Can I ask a quick question, There are reviews, Or promoting out there now on UA-cam with the DD+ Extreme being used with GT7, So how is this possible if the licence hasn't been issued yet, Without a licence would it not technically be an illegal product without a licence or something like that, We know how protective SONY is so if there not in on it how come there allowing an unlicensed product to be promoted all over UA-cam.
@@reecereed8131 The product had approval already, the need that to even get their hands on the physical security chip inside the base before they start mass manufacturing. The hold up with just final sign off. Sony want to make sure the customer expereince with the product is to their standard before they sign off on it and that's the part of the process that was delayed.
Thomas: "We didn't want to announce the DD+ after the DD because people who buy the DD and would have waited for DD+ will be angry. That's why we had pre-orders". Also Thomas: *Releases GT DD Extreme out of the blue when people who want it already ordered the DD+*
I was going to pre-order the DD+, but I have a personal rule of no pre-ordering anything. I broke it once with the PS VR2 and even though the product was good, it just doesn't work with me so it just reinforced my rule. I want the GT DD Extreme, and I'll probably end up buying it. But I won't pre-order. I don't need it so quick that I'm willing to risk paying and then waiting possibly for weeks longer than it was promised. I'll order it when regular people have got their hands on it to review and when the website says "In stock" or "Ships in 1-3 days". And this opinion has nothing to do with what's been happening at Fanatec, it's just common sense.
Also Thomas: *Still hasn't shipped all black friday orders cause "they didn't make money" on them, and continues to perpetuate the worst Customer Service Experience ever in a sim racing product eco system!*
@@DanniV8 I considered the DD+ but suspected something like this would be following so did not bite. Currently and I am waiting ands seeing what this is like once real world people get hold of it.
Not sure why more people don't mention this, but when I bought my Logitech Wheel and Pedals I was able to get a 15% discount code. I paid $1,150 for the Logitech Pro Wheel and Pro Pedals. The only downside to Logitech honestly is the lack of aftermarket wheels, specially when their quick disconnect works so well. The Logitech Pro Wheel has been amazing, amazing feedback and feel. The quality of the wheel is outstanding everything about the wheel is great. The pedals are good, they're smooth, comfortable, and look nice. I do wish I could use the Pro wheel with V3 pedals though if I'm being honest.
This is exactly the reason I don’t own the G Pro, I’d be more than p1ssed off if Logitech never release any new wheels etc on a product that is already expensive. If there were even whispers about expanding the ecosystem (genuine whispers) I’d wait, but the already established Fanatec ecosystem is hard to ignor….
Logitech G pro owner here, 10 months in and have to say it’s been fantastic. The Truforce is similar in feel of additional detail sensation you get to Haptic feedback of the dual sense but you have a 0-100% adjustment range on the Gpro and at about 10% it’s equal to max vibration setting you can get out of the dual sense. I have my G pro bolted into my Playseat trophy rig and at 35% Trueforce I can feel vibrations through the whole rig that helps sell the immersion, I currently run my truforce at 55% and combined with the PSVR2 is the very best sim racing experience you can enjoy for under $5k. I’m glad Kireth pointed out that Fanatec ships DD Extreme with the QR2 lite…. I 100% believe it will suffer the same issues the DDPro does where that plastic QR starts to fail if you run it at max NM for more the a month
I think im gonna go for the logitech, fanatec is too much of a risk for me and doesnt seem to make the best financial sense.....the qr2 lite is a deliberate move to bundled in as they couldnt shift them on their own and also they know it will need to be upgraded later so more money spinning for fanatec....
I don't care how cool the other stuff looks, that's the absolute only thing I'm interested in. My G29 is 10 years old, and seven of it at least what's hard use. Looking forward to having something stronger and nicer, and still having the quality in the reliability I'm used to
I have exactly the same set you have and I feel exactly the same…True Force combined to Playseat Trophy is amazing (plus PsVR2 with GT7 great immersion). I have considered the Fanatec CS DD+ (I don’t want the crappy wheel from the GTDD Extreme bundle), with a proper wheel with screen so you can adjust your parameters without the need of a PC if you play on a Ps (ie Podium Porsche GT3), Clubsport v3 pedals…you have to pay more than 2000 euros without delivery compared to 1400 for the Logitech set delivery included…33% cheaper…this is not anecdotal.
Kireth, your interview was world class, I have to tell you. You risked a lot in doing that, this could have also gone bad for you. You were respectful but also strict, not letting Thomas get away with this selling DD+ nonetheless nonsense. Very well done! 👍
I was left wanting to ask, why do you charge €100 more to buy a new wheel with the QR2? People have already spent money updating their equipment and then have to pay €100 more to buy a new wheel. Sorry but I write with Google translate.@@Kireth
Btw DD force feedback is like being able to feel the curbs on the track. True force is like being able to feel the texture of the tires on those curbs.
I’m confused as you call this “an honest review” yet you DON’T have the product. If we’re talking honestly let’s take “review” out of the video content…..
Yeah, I was listening along, then all of a sudden realized he's comparing his wheel to website info. 🥴 Sounds like someone's jelly he didn't get sent one. 😄
Thank you for what you have done and I applaud you for raising the truth of the situation. The same is happening in other industries/hobby interests and with manufacturers/influencers. One flaw I found in this video. It does not make much sense to compare the Moza as a non PS5 wheel to others that are specifically for PS5 and GT7 players. Most PC orientated sim racers will not even consider the Logitech as they can get other DD wheels that at least have additional rims available. It's a joke that Logitech still almost 18 months since release of their wheelbase have not yet even announced another rim, never mind have options available. Just like its a sad situation that Fanatec want to sell PS5 players a £1300 wheelbase with a new highly touted feature, that also has no confirmed release date for when Full Force will be available. Logitech True Force has two major let downs. The first that the user cannot with the wheel itself alter the strength of individual effects to their liking. The title has to support this and how/what you can alter varies with each title. The other let down is support is not that great, FM8 as a major release, nothing.... Perhaps Full Force will improve on what Logitech have done but I just cannot get over, even with a couple of months in delays this product has already had and STILL their will not be Full Force support for ANY title on its release. Can you imagine buying a top end phone that advertises a new cool feature, that then gives no confirmation when that feature can be used or enjoyed. Consumers are just getting shafted, by the companies, by the lack of support, by not ready features, and by some influencers that are not being fully honest in their videos. The influencers that know each other so well, should have said no to Fanatec, until the product was ready for proper review and could be experienced as fully intended. You are 100% correct that "reviewers" are now becoming controlled and paid/finically rewarded promoters.
@whyilovethemoon Okay long brain guy, don't forget to add the taxes. I guess you got the money to throw around like that, but there is a lot of people who don't ...
@@blastu2fool where I live the price is tax incl. Yes, I have no problem spending my money on whatever I want. But that’s not the point. The point is, that it's competitively priced for what it is. I actually don’t even own Fanatec products because I'm not bound to a console. I guess that makes me even less biased
@@Kireth If you think that those 2 things are logical equivalents then you may have some brain damage going on. It would be more like seeing a picture of a sandwich and making a claim if it tastes good or not. You have to taste the sandwich before you can have an opinion on it.
Love my Logitech G Pro Wheel. The TrueForce feature and FFB are perfectly matched to the Playseat Trophy. The rig comes alive! Getting it with discounts helps but worth it!
Great, honest video. I have the Thrustmaster T-GT, and play GT7 on a PS5 only. Several years ago, I found an adapter that allowed me to use Fanatec V3 pedals, which I love. For the last year, I have thought about an upgrade to direct drive. It seemed the Logitech Pro was the best solution, but I needed to give up my V3 peddals, for the Logitech. That put my cost near $1300. The new Fanatec Extreme bundle at about $1300, could use my V3's, so the cost was about the same. The only determinating factors is the robust Fanatec Eco system (mainly the beautiful McLaren GT3 wheel), against the Logitech customer service reputation. I am convinced Logitech will eventually have other compatible wheels in the future, but I have no idea why they have waited over a year already. I would hope Fanatec's problems mostly stem from the pandemic and a sub-par order system. If Logitech finally comes out with a GT3 style wheel and an F1 wheel anything like the Thrustmaster SF1000, there would be no question what my decision would be. What are your thoughts? Thanks
I dont care how good this wheel is, 3x the price of the hardware its used on even without pedals is insane, they should be making DD wheels for the masses not just for the elite......
So how much does this package actually end up costing to be sent to the UK then ? On the Fanatec website the total is €1116.45 including shipping but do you then get charged an extra 20% VAT on top of that amount plus another extra charge from UPS for delivery ?
I bought the Logitech Pro, Pedals & GT Omega prime cockpit for the PS5 GT7, had it over a year, had no problems so far, just my personal opinion the wheel & pedals are extremely well built, proper solid feel, no rattling, everything is tight, quick release is brilliant, just hope it last me a very long time! I don’t care about shifters, additional wheels etc, don’t want to be constantly spending stupid money, I have enough hobbies for that. You did a good job reviewing the Logitech wheel, everything you said was accurate, I’ll be honest I’m so glad I didn’t take the Fanatec route, every day I hear complaints in the forums, I’m surprised people still buy from them and their company has lasted so long, I’m also surprised that Sony continue their relationship with them. All the best pal, I think you do a great job with honest as possible content!
For the overinflated price that Fanatec charges for this product, the aluminum version of the QR2 was an absolute minimum. Including the plastic QR2 is certainly a BIG MISS on Fanatec's part. Especially since they introduced the plastic QR2 as not suitable beyond 8Nm. I understand that every business tries to make a profit, but fanatec keeps sending hints over and over that they simply don't value and respect their customers.
I've got a Logitech Pro wheel (PS version). As you've said, it's really well made, so easy to use and setup, pedals are decent as well. The main reason I'm considering going fanatec is lack of wheel rims for Logitech, it's been a while and no new rims is disappointing! Logitech don't pre announce products like most manufacturers so it's just a case of if or when they decide to release new rims, it's the waiting game I don't like but Fanatec's customer service is putting me off!
@@Kireth When you put both the wheel and pedals into the cart Logitech applies a bundle deal which drops the price to €1264. Your discount code doesn't change the price.
@@MikeRay1978 They do have a shifter, just not a great one. They say there is a Pro Shifter, ebrake and rims coming but who knows when they will arrive. Logitech never announce products either, they will just appear for sale out of the blue.
Totally agree with your point on other you tubers getting sent products to promote and not review …. They also send to as many as they can so you tube gets flooded with “ reviews” if their products , it’s basic free advertising / sales marketing !!! Thanks for your honesty mate it’s very refreshing
I bought Logitech G pro wheel and pedals using your link, and got the discount 😁 Love it ❤ I came from G29, and with new wheel & pedals I do get better laptimes. But that is not just the wheel, it is in conjuction with the loadcell brake pedal. As a normal person with normal income, I can't buy Fanatec and Logitech G pro at the same time. And then choose between them. They r not in a store to try out. I bought Logitech G pro cause Fanatec had huge problems. Would I have bought Fanatec if they did'nt had problems? Yes I would. But I don't regret buying Logitech G pro. When I placed the order, that wheel had the best review's and I got it after 6 days. Anyway thx for good work Kireth 👍
G Pro Owner here, no problems at all, TrueForce feels GREAT. I had the opportunity to try the DD Pro and the G Pro before buying my G Pro, the TrueForce did al the difference for me
I just decided between the G pro and DD Extreme. I went with G. If you go with Fanatec it’s not just $1200 for entry. It’s the pedals, the mounts, the shifter. For me it was 5 different things and totaled $2500. $1500 for Logitech and they’re more reliable. It just wasn’t worth the struggle to make sure Fanatec would be worth it for an extra 4 newton meters, so Logitech was the play.
We have had the G pro for a year. The G Pro quick release is far better and more solid than the plastic QR on the DD extreme. And the Fanatec GT DD pro doesn't even compare in quality. Logitech has a better warranty and better support.
@ After receiving my G pro I bought some Logitech stock. Very impressed. I think I made the right choice with this one. I also received it on a Saturday, within two or three days of purchasing with free shipping.
I can't believe i only just found your channel recently. I like your presentation and I really appreciate your perspective. It's annoying how much talk about bias exists these days, yet i think there is still a general lack of understanding of what bias is among to wider audience - and kudos to you for pointing some of your own. Keep fighting the good fight
I’m not sure why you included the Moza when it won’t work on PS5. That confused me as I thought this was a comparison of PS5 compatible set ups. Otherwise, great video!
We appreciate you mate most real interview with Thomas and soon as your video dropped I got my email from fanatec saying my dd+ has shipped. I genuinely believe you kicked them up the backside. Good job lad.
So, the Fanatec is more money and the quality over time is TBD and let’s not even get into the customer service if you have an issue (which is likely). The Logitech has been super solid over time, is cheaper to begin with, throw in your discount (I got a whopping $150 USD off when I used it) and is a no brainer. Logitech all the way. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and it’s amazing. Hopefully they come out with a GT rim soon. That would make it untouchable IMO. I do use true force. It seems fine. Not a negative but it’s not like I can’t live without it either.
I'm 100% satisfied with the Logitech Pro setup. Nothing about this makes me want to go and dump a bunch of $ to make a change. I've already heard a well known YT'er say that this is the best setup to date for GT7 which doesn't make any sense to me because it's not even fully operational on PS5 yet. Like you said, reviewer vs promoter. It is however, a bit of a bummer that we Logitech Pro users don't have any rim, shifter, handbrake options yet. I am trusting what LogiRich is saying all over social media, they they are working on ''things'' so I'm being patient.
On the Logitech and alot of other drives the nm measurements are at peak where as the fanatek extreme is continuous resistance and that's a big difference.
Loving the curbs rumbles in GT7 on my Logitech wheel, both G923 and G Pro ❤ once you've tried there's no going back ...... hope fullForce can close that gap abit so people get more options rather than stuck waiting for Logitech to drop the next "pro accessories"
Just got the Logitech pro, I use my true force at 65%. Didn't understand what it did till i turned it off, turned it right back on after 2 mins of driving without it. I have my wheel set to 11nm and do notice the fatigue, going to try it at 8nm. Also pairing it with a psvr2 and a gt omega art rig. Absolutely loving the whole wheel and pedals set. Glad i went with the Logitech, after seeing fantech price for the extreme don't feel as bad any more lol.
I'd like to buy the GT DD Extreme, and also a compatible XBox wheel. Question: is the McLaren Gt3 v2 wheel with QR2 Lite wheel-side adapter compatible with the CS DD+ base (included with the GT DD Extreme)? The compatibility list for the QR2 Lite wheel-side doesn't include the CS DD+ wheel base... 🤔
As it look for me started with a G27 had changed the brake pedal to a hydraulic one so a load cell pedal seems like a downgrade. Had need to buy a g29 for Ps5 use so I am stuck to buying the G pro because with the hub they sell now I can use the G29 pedals with hydraulic brake on the G pro. If I would switch to fanatec that would be even more expensive. And the G Pro is kinda expensive too. And the thing does not go down in price.
@kireth have you ever run into the issue with the Logitech where you momentarily lose pedal input? Some people have traded it down to only happening with shoes, and not bare feet. They think it has to do with static. Just curious if you've ever had that happen, mine does it constantly if I'm using the clutch in a manual car.
I didn't get paid and I had the G-Pro since it released ordered from Logitch. Before that I bought wheels twice and gave them away right away, it felt like toy's and the controller was so much better, might still be better I still play with controller when I want to le4arn a track with a new car. But yes this direct input and all the bells that come with it, it doesn't feel like a toy anymore but more like a real peace of pro-gear. Also the wheel works like day one no issue with quality great for console but best for PC ( I use 6-8) and I have a silent mode (1-2) with true force off
Not sure what’s happened here. You did an excellent interview, one that may even keep the ceo from conducting others, yet also sealing your fate with fanatec. throwing shade and saying…” the sim racing industry isn’t sophisticated enough to have a proper reviewer ecosystem yet..” Is rude and tbh makes you look ignorant & somewhat bitter tbh.
I bought the g pro wheel and pedals (Xbox) using your discount code. Not sure if it was the code or bundle which applied a discount. Really good so far and hoping the accessories get to market soon that's the only disappointment.
I really enjoyed your interview Kireth and I think it’s refreshing that somebody who is quite highly regarded in the sim racing community is able to actually bring the issues the average customer is having to the forefront of the conversation. I agree completely that the sim racing “movement” is that the right phrase? Hasn’t matured enough to let UA-camrs give an honest review of their products. I see exactly the same scenarios in the carp fishing world when a new product comes to market, we call the affiliates and their corresponding communities “noddys” because they simply nod their head and agree because a big company said “this and that” so they must be right and have the buyers interest at heart. Keep up the solid work. 👍
I bought a g29 and playseat evo years ago to get into sim racing, work and family took over and I just got back into this about a month ago, bought a GT omega titan but need to update my wheel/pedals, is the only direct drive option that work with GT7 fanatec and logitech?
I was going to purchase the DD wheel just because it was in the movie thought that was cool. After a week of doing my own research I ended getting Logitech Pro still in the box waiting to get a sim Seat I can’t just put it on my dinner stand tray like I do with G29 I’m happy what I went with 👍🏾
I ended up purchasing a used G Pro (PS), pro pedals and a Playseat Trophy G edition for £1100. Like new pretty much, not sure if I overpaid but what a set up it is.
Get Fanatec to send you the DD extreme for you review, I believe you deserve that with the interview you did with them. Great review keep doing what you doing stay true to your self .
I race on PS and PC, and I bought my GT DD 8 Nm recently. I looked at the DD+ but I only use 5.3Nm on my American Truck Sim. On PS and PC racing, I use under 4 Nm.
Why call out other reviewers and try to question their credibility, I think u just salty Fanatec never sent u one & no saying that fanatec load cells pedals are better than Logitech doesn't makes u neutral and unbiased, it just means you're not stupid and reporting the obvious well known truth cause to say logitech pedals are better would make u look biased or lead ppl to question your credibility
TrueForce and FullForce are high frequency feedback. TrueForce achieves high frequency feedback utilizing vibration motors. FullForce is better, as high frequency feedback is achieved utilizing the DD motor itself.
why now every simracing youtuber keep posting dd extreme at same time.. means did all have NDA with fanatec..? what a conincident dd+ get delayed but all of sudden all review pop up at the same time.. but goodjob to kireth for being honest with fanatec thumbs up 👍🏻
Most product launches involve a review embargo. Which is why most reviewers post their videos at the same time. This is generally done so that there isn’t a mad rush for everyone to rush out content to be first. Instead it gives all the reviewers time to prepare their content without being disadvantaged by someone else posting first. It also of course gives the brand the opportunity to control the timing to suit their own marketing activities so reviewers aren’t announcing the product before they do.
Hi man, I have the DD Pro, and V3 pedal set which has only been used for about 20 hours; and already the loadcell brake has given up the ghost completely! Do you know how to fix this,as you seem very educated on the subject? Any help would be appreciated... Great VT BTW and T.I.A if you can Help, as I am really fed up now!!!
Can you get some information from fanatec about the new dd extreme. Alot, including mine seem to stop working after a few days/ weeks. No power button working at all. Faulty. Takes ages to get a response from fanatec.
It's good that you compare the DD+ X with the Logitech Pro. What's relevant for me (I dont own it) is that with fanatec you have like 50 other rims and 5 pedal setups you could run with. Logitech only has one wheel in the ecosystem and one set of pedals.
Dude… that intro 😂 affiliate links are a way for those who see value in the efforts of the reviewer to reward that reviewer. And most reviewers have links for all the brands they compare to too, so I’m not sure how that makes them biased towards certain products. Anyways. It does feel like you’re discrediting every other reviewer to make yourself look good. I don’t have any issue with you. Keep doing what you’re doing. But this is not a competition between reviewers. All of my terms are available on my website and mentioned in my descriptions. Please don’t undermine all the free work I (and others) have done to try to make sim racing more accessible, more enjoyable, and ultimately to grow sim racing, just because I have some affiliate links for products that’s I have reviewed.
You just keep doing what you do Laurence , cause you doing it right ! But unfortunately as the saying goes 'mud sticks' so your and @boostedmedia 's comments on here are 100% valid. ( and I haven't bought any sim gear for many years, but will upgrade eventually so watch the reviews that interest me but would never make a decision off of just one reviewers thoughts without knowing their history of reviews and affiliations etc.)
Hmmm. Trueforce wheels deliver a bit more detail whether you are running 2NM or 16Nm. The thing is, when you run a higher force feedback, yes you get more detail but it must be remembeedr there is a higher force resisting your corrections, making your reactions slower, thus adding to your lap times, not to mention the resistance to turn in and the mistake making fatigue you mention. But if you can still sense the feedback at lower force feedback its a win. I run a force feedback of3-4NM and you and I both know a record holding alien who only uses 2Nm force.
I love and appreciate your honest reviews, and I’d absolutely support you using your revenue to purchase one of these wheels. I loved GT since it first came out and will always continue to play it for fun. I’m going back to school for a second run around, so for people with a tight budget, it’s always nice to hear what the best is and what the best deals are. Having that being said, I have my GT lite seat and my used G27 that I’ve modified for better cooling and reliability… 😂 Still kicking, but I would love to upgrade someday and would love to see your review on the DD extreme. Appreciate all the time you put in to your reviews. Much love 🤙🏽❤
If you're on PC, the likes of Simagic and Asetek leave ypy with a lot more options, not forgetting Simucube at the top end. If one is prepared to splurge over a thousand on a wheel setup, why truncate the experience with a console? Also not quite sold on Trueforce. It is like a bass shaker on your wheel, why would you want to muddy the feedback with a rumble pack?
Just canceled the DD+ and ordered the G Pro. I think I am ok with not having the best product of the moment as long as the service is not outright catastrophic. Also using a QR Lite on the DDX instead of the normal one says much about Fanatec. The difference is a f** 40e on a 1300e wheelbase. Pathetic.
Great job with the interview and this video. We really need somebody with the customer in mind like this. Does youtube have a content creator with similar perspective, but for the pc market? What is good for ps5 might not be as good for pc, or thre could be better options. Thank you.
Boosted has a policy where they say they have so many affiliate links it doesn't matter from which company you by products. Otherwise I'm not aware of any other dedicated reviewers of high end PC equipment which is a shame, we need that
Most important taking from this video, you are team Pepsi Max! 😇😋 on topic... some youtubers seem to be stepping over the issues 💀 and some actually give out warnings, boosted media for example seemed to do a mega job with that, as you would expect from them given their track record. More suprised that this product is only just announced and the wheel cannot be bought seperately... Since in the interview with the fanatec boss, he said they wanted to give buyers all the options beforehand and now they have done the exact opposite... so much for the worth of his words. 🙃
We have a Logitech G Pro, I race at 6.5nm and my son runs at 8nm. We have trueforce at 35-40 percent for GT7. Trueforce should never be at 100%, just like your house stereo shouldn't be at 100%. We only run the wheel at 11nm when testing.
You're a good lad Kireth 👍 SuperGT did a review too, i get the feeling he wasn't overly impressed with it. I want the Logitec pro but i've been waiting for the Fanatec review WHEN people finally get them 😝 imo this "Extreme" was a sneaky release not announcing it until the return window was closed, luckily i waited. I just wish Logitc would sort a decent shifter out, the G29/G920/G923 one is very toy like. I'm in limbo here, maybe you can give them a nudge and a wink 😁 TrueForce is MEGA!!!
Fanatec say to use your qr1 rims on the dd+ you can change the qr2 base side to a qr1 type f but fanatec don’t even sell it ?????.so I would have to spend £300 to change my other rims to qr2 wheel side,no one has mentioned this ?????
@@Kireth if you go on there web page at the very bottom of all the wheel bases with the qr2 system installed to the compatibility section it says to use old qr1 wheels you must order the qr1 type f base side so you can turn the base side from qr2 to a qr1 ,but they don’t do or sell one,so the only way is to upgrade all your old qr1 wheels to qr2 which is £99 a pop
Thanks for this video. Also, i think it would be a huge flex if you had an affiliate link for the DD extreme in the description. It would be funny enough for me to actually use it lol
Dude, I get your point to an extent (one particular UA-camr just put out a 20 minute Fanatec advert) but you can’t really compare products if you haven’t used one of them It comes across a bit salty imo and a bit of a Logitech promotion (discount codes etc)
This isn’t a review though. It’s a bloke looking at tech specs on the web from a few different pages You cannot review something you haven’t used or experienced.
I'm exactly in this situation: Buy Logitech G Pro or DD Extreme (mainly for Gran Turismo)? For me, the key difference is the pedals. The Fanatec CSL Elite v2 pedals are highly regarded (several UA-camrs seem to actually like them more than the ClubSport v3 pedals), and the Logitech Pro pedals are less highly regarded, from what I've seen in various videos. So because of that I've just ordered the DD Extreme yesterday with v2 pedals. I do wish the DD Extreme wheel would be more sturdy (less flex), though. I would gladly have paid $100 more for a more high-quality wheel. FWIW, it seems that the Fanatec FullForce implementation will allow up to 16khz details, while the Logitech TrueForce only goes to 4khz. I've no idea if this will make a difference or not. But I would assume that FullForce will probably not be worse than TrueForce.
If you ever get a change to interview the CEO or any high level person at Fanatec again, could you ask them why they don't sell the GT7 wheel separately from the base? My wheel is not broken, but the rubber material is completely worn off on the spot where my right hand thumb rests, I would like to one day replace this wheel with a new one, and keep the old one for parts if it ever breaks, but I don't want to buy a whole DD GT bundle. My only choice is going on the secondary market like ebay to source one, I would prefer to buy a new one of Fanatec.
@@frizzlefry1921 dude, you're a genius. I never considered that option. I might try to repair it with Flex Seal paste. The change in texture won't bother me since I use gloves when I play. But I do feel the exposed hard plastic and it bothers me.
Logitech is a non-starter as there is no eco system at this price point. End of story. This was the reason I went with Fanatec. For all their bad customer service (which I have not suffered from) at the end of the day, I have had no regrets getting my GT DD Pro. Currently 8NM is enough for me so I will be waiting and seeing what the verdict is on the DD+ before I consider that.
I know exactly the youtubers you are talking about lol. I admire your transparency. Whilst a lot of youtubers are playing characters and bull***tting their loyal followers. Exploiting them with their influence.
Hello Kireth;
It was nice to have you in Landshut and you are welcome to review our products just like several other reviewers which are not affiliate partners.
Pricing is a bit mixed up and confusing. So lets talk about all pricing in GBP and incl. 20% VAT, OK?
Fanatec GT DDX: 1106 GBP (converted from 1299,95 Euro)
Logitech Pro: 999 GBP (on Amazon)
Moza R16 + KS Wheel: 1237 GBP (Note that prices on website do not show the 20% VAT you have to pay on import). The correct product to compare would be the R21 as it has a more similar constant torque as the GT DDX
Keep up the good work and your entertaining videos.
Thomas
Thanks Thomas pinned for transparency 👍👍
But doesn't the R21 comparison fall short as fanatec doesn't state there bit rate for the encoder. Is one to assume you're still using a hall sensor?
Keep up the awesome work Will, I also know you have a full page on your website explaining this 🙌🙌
@@Kireththanks. It’s always a difficult balance and you of course can’t please everyone. Honestly and transparency wins in the end.
Happy to discuss this all further with you over chat if you’d ever like to. It’s an important topic that deserves more attention than it gets.
Definitely ping me an email as I have some thoughts!
Thomas could’ve literally announced the GT DD Extreme Mid interview. None of the DD+ had been shipped yet so it wouldn’t have been an issue
@@DanniV8Fanatec has much better wheels to put on that DD+ base than that extreme wheel.
Do the g pro pedals give you the same performance as the v3s? Why do you prefer the v3s? Thanks
Thanks man I feel more like a sim racer than a youtuber so really wanted to ask those questions 🙌🙌

Honesty and transparency, 😂😂😂😂😂 your very clever and deliberate with your wording ,and know one has been fooled
Well, given my (lack of) skill, think my T300 is serving me just fine for being a 200€ investment (April 2020 prices were so good on sim equipment!)
Thanks! I wanted to add the Moza in as a contrast on price and ecosystem. Some people also use it on PS5 but I can't recommend doing that
$1300 and no pedals......wow
Fanatec is seriously on some bullsheeeiiiit 😂
Why is everybody so short minded? The base is 1K and the wheel is 300. It’s totally fine.
@whyilovethemoon Okay long brain guy, don't forget to add the taxes. I guess you got the money to throw around like that, but there is a lot of people who don't ...
Yeah makes no sense, you might as well buy the Podium wheel base which is stronger too
@@blastu2fool where I live the price is tax incl. Yes, I have no problem spending my money on whatever I want. But that’s not the point. The point is, that it's competitively priced for what it is. I actually don’t even own Fanatec products because I'm not bound to a console. I guess that makes me even less biased
How can you give an honest opinion on a wheel that you dont even own yet?

We basically have the same setup!!
I find the QR2 lite being used as unacceptable
For less than the price of the GT DD Extreme you can get the Logitech G Pro wheel AND the Pro Pedals.
Does my code KIRETH give a discount on both the logitech wheel and pedals?
Yup. And that’s all you can get. No shifters. No ebrake. No rims. I love the wheel but man I can’t add anything.

I came from G29, and with new wheel & pedals I do get better laptimes.
Anyway thx for good work
Kireth 👍
Thanks!!
Really curious how this directly compares to fanatec GT DD+ Extreme with QR2 top tier mounts and the V2.5X wheel rim.
Hey Kireth, why do you prefer the fanatec v3 pedals? Are you faster with them?
G Pro Owner here, no problems at all, TrueForce feels GREAT. I had the opportunity to try the DD Pro and the G Pro before buying my G Pro, the TrueForce did al the difference for me
Oh and the build quality between the G Pro and the DD Pro is also a major point for me
I just decided between the G pro and DD Extreme.

We appreciate you mate most real interview with Thomas and soon as your video dropped I got my email from fanatec saying my dd+ has shipped. I genuinely believe you kicked them up the backside. Good job lad.
Surely a coincidence but thanks 😅
So, the Fanatec is more money and the quality over time is TBD and let’s not even get into the customer service if you have an issue (which is likely). The Logitech has been super solid over time, is cheaper to begin with, throw in your discount (I got a whopping $150 USD off when I used it) and is a no brainer. Logitech all the way. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and it’s amazing. Hopefully they come out with a GT rim soon. That would make it untouchable IMO.
I do use true force. It seems fine. Not a negative but it’s not like I can’t live without it either.
Need your driving impression video of how it compares to the others
We have a very similar set up 😅
Great reviews . May I ask what wheel clamp and type of desk are compatible
Really like your approach with these videos. Refreshing to say the least
Thanks!!

Thanks! I get super frustrated when a new GoPro or Insta360 camera comes out because none of the embargo videos seem honest
After a week of doing my own research I ended getting Logitech Pro still in the box waiting to get a sim Seat I can’t just put it on my dinner stand tray like I do with G29 I’m happy what I went with 👍🏾
I modded my Thrustmaster TGT to have quick release.
thousand pound for a wheel is silly.
They won't because he's likely to give an honest review instead of a sales pitch.

Good info 👍👍
why now every simracing youtuber keep posting dd extreme at same time.. means did all have NDA with fanatec..? what a conincident dd+ get delayed but all of sudden all review pop up at the same time..
but goodjob to kireth for being honest with fanatec thumbs up 👍🏻
When everybody comes out one day like this with reviews oe whatever, yes NDA was likely signed.
Finally, the comparison I was looking for
It's good that you compare the DD+ X with the Logitech Pro.
Needs to be top comment
Looking for a new wheel, i need a sequential shifter is a must because i have bad hands ,,whats out there ? thx everyone ,, BTW great videos
Fanatec latest base runs on Usb 3 and it has a new Api how does that compare with the Mosa base because I think you said Mosa dont have their own Api?
Pathetic.
does the fanatec for playstaition work for ps4 AND ps5 or just ps5?
Great job with the interview and this video. We really need somebody with the customer in mind like this. Does youtube have a content creator with similar perspective, but for the pc market? What is good for ps5 might not be as good for pc, or thre could be better options. Thank you.
Boosted has a policy where they say they have so many affiliate links it doesn't matter from which company you by products. Otherwise I'm not aware of any other dedicated reviewers of high end PC equipment which is a shame, we need that
@@Kireth Thanks a lot for taking the time and replying.
np!
What about comparing to simagic alpha mini
I liked your polo t shirt,, where you buy?
He's definitely casting shade...
He's speaking his mind.........
It would be really nice if you could have an actual product to make a comparison between the Logitech g pro and the new Fanatec.
Most important taking from this video, you are team Pepsi Max! 😇😋
on topic... some youtubers seem to be stepping over the issues 💀 and some actually give out warnings, boosted media for example seemed to do a mega job with that, as you would expect from them given their track record.
More suprised that this product is only just announced and the wheel cannot be bought seperately... Since in the interview with the fanatec boss, he said they wanted to give buyers all the options beforehand and now they have done the exact opposite... so much for the worth of his words. 🙃
Boosted does a good job 👍
We have a Logitech G Pro, I race at 6.5nm and my son runs at 8nm. We have trueforce at 35-40 percent for GT7. Trueforce should never be at 100%, just like your house stereo shouldn't be at 100%. We only run the wheel at 11nm when testing.
So what wheel bases work on console for moza? I never played acc but how are the graphics compared to gt7 or forza?
MOZA R3
You're a good lad Kireth 👍 SuperGT did a review too, i get the feeling he wasn't overly impressed with it. I want the Logitec pro but i've been waiting for the Fanatec review WHEN people finally get them 😝 imo this "Extreme" was a sneaky release not announcing it until the return window was closed, luckily i waited. I just wish Logitc would sort a decent shifter out, the G29/G920/G923 one is very toy like. I'm in limbo here, maybe you can give them a nudge and a wink 😁
TrueForce is MEGA!!!
I'm ordering one.
Are you based in the UK ? If so could you tell me what the final amount ended up costing ? Did you get charged an extra 20% VAT on top of the fee ?
@@Calsonic8899 I'm still waiting on my first CS DD+. As soon as I get it, I'll order this one and just build another rig.
I have the G Pro and love it. Just waiting patiently for the shifter.
Interesting how on LinkedIn Fanatec posted pictures of their 2024 opening party, and turned off commenting. Not sure that’s gone down overly well.
Not in the market for either. Just watched it anyway because I thought your take was refreshing 👍
Thanks!
Get a job with them running their unbiased reviews department to do exactly what you’re talking about.
Fanatec say to use your qr1 rims on the dd+ you can change the qr2 base side to a qr1 type f but fanatec don’t even sell it ?????.so I would have to spend £300 to change my other rims to qr2 wheel side,no one has mentioned this ?????
Can you explain?
@@Kireth if you go on there web page at the very bottom of all the wheel bases with the qr2 system installed to the compatibility section it says to use old qr1 wheels you must order the qr1 type f base side so you can turn the base side from qr2 to a qr1 ,but they don’t do or sell one,so the only way is to upgrade all your old qr1 wheels to qr2 which is £99 a pop
I just bought the Logitech G Pro Wheel and Pedals with Kireth Discount Code. I live in California. Paid $1249.99
Hello, do you have some info about the new turtle beach DD ?
It's only compatible with PC and Xbox and it looks like a toy even though it's DD That's about as much I know
Thanks for this video. Also, i think it would be a huge flex if you had an affiliate link for the DD extreme in the description. It would be funny enough for me to actually use it lol
Dude, I get your point to an extent (one particular UA-camr just put out a 20 minute Fanatec advert) but you can’t really compare products if you haven’t used one of them
It comes across a bit salty imo and a bit of a Logitech promotion (discount codes etc)
Exactly.
.... yet many commenters are (negatively) comparing the Logitech G Pro to various other wheel/bases without trying them. This thread is an example.
This isn’t a review though. It’s a bloke looking at tech specs on the web from a few different pages
You cannot review something you haven’t used or experienced.
You really can’t even really review the DD Extreme until the new force feedback is implemented into GT7
really appreciate these latest gear/fanatec company videos - king shit
Not sure if it'd be smooth transition wise but there is a coating or dip (rubber?) for recoating tool handles it may be worth a shot?
As i said before.. I f's with you and your channel for apparent reasons . Please don't change
No idea what this means but I'll take it as a compliment 😅
Why do ppl say wheelbase and rim?
Wouldn't it be rimbase then?
Fantastic Vid as always Kireth, thankyou for all your doing for the sim racing community.
Thanks!!
I really hope no one buys this in protest of that INSANE price….
Thats the KEY
Bought it along with pedals, shifter and handbrake, and a week later Fanatec goes insolvent, couldn't make it up
