My father went to all 7 games. As a born and raised Cubs fan and an almost 70-year-old at that time, the Cubs winning that year was one of the greatest moments in his life
I wish my dad would have seen this but sadly passed away a year before. He is what made me a Cubs fan. Sat on his lap as a little girl every time they were on. I don't live in Chicago anymore but my heart is always there. Now looking forward to their next win, which I know will happen eventually
My father passed about 10 years before the Cubs won. He was a Cub fan probably much like your father. He indoctrinated me into being a Cub fan almost at birth. I was grateful to have see them win. I cried like a baby when they won. I know a few of my tears of joy, were his from heaven.
Same here, many of us shed a tear of happiness not just for ourselves, but for those before us. My Dad and especially my Grandfather were fans. Once my Grandfather retired, he never missed a game, he would put on his Cubs cap and pull a chair up in front of his TV set. I think there is a special field of dreams (a Wrigley Field)in heaven for all those fans who tirelessly and faithfully cheered them on all their lives without ever seeing them go all the way. Go Cubs go! Hey hey! and Holy Cow!
Same, it was my grandma though. She prayed for years and years for the Cubs to win and yet they never did. Still she had faith for 80 years that her beloved Cubs would go all the way. That night I rejoiced and cried buckets. As soon as Rizzo caught that ball I was in tears. I know grandma was watching from heaven.
The saddest part of this for me was that my father died 4 months before this happened. He always talked about much he loved watching teams who'd never won a championship before or who haven't won it in ages come through. Even as Mets fans, this the type of moment I loved and he would've cherished.

That walk that got Hendricks pulled could easily have been a strike out. Final pitch was very close. I'm not upset with umpire. He had a tight strike zone all night for both teams. As soon as Cubs acquired Chapman, Maddon would frequently bring him in in 8th inning. It's like Maddon had a new toy and couldn't put it down. He brought Chapman in eighth inning against both Giants and Dodgers in NL playoffs. It didn't work well either time. The game either was tied or opposition(Giants) took lead. Giants would eventually win game, extending series, while in game 1 of NLCS Cubs hitters would bail Maddon out with 5 run rally in 8th. The players saved Maddon's but again in world series again with their clutch hitting. When Chapman went out to pitch bottom of ninth, I thought I was going to see Mazoroski 2, but Chapman, to his credit managed to retire Cleveland in order. Thankfully Chapman wasn't sent out to pitch the 10th.
I failed to mention that Maddon also brought Chapman in with 1 out in eighth of deciding game 6 with Cubs up 5-0. Hendricks gave up 1 out single after retiring about 20 in a row, give or take a couple. It worked that time, other than more needless wear and tear on Chapman. He promptly got out of eighth with a double play. He faced only 3 batters in ninth, thanks to game ending double play after 1 out walk. Dodgers sent only 27 batters to the plate. All their baserunners were either eliminated in double plays or picked off. They got only 2 hits. Still Maddon pulled Hendricks in eighth. I wonder if that was only second time in post season history a team sent minimum number of batters to plate. The other time, of course, was Larsen's perfect game in 1956 World Series. The late Roy Halladay pitch a no hitter in 2010 playoffs, but I think he allowed a few baserunners.
I've watched this a dozen times. I cry every time. I have loved my Cubs since 1975. Wrigley Field isn't just the Friendly Confines: it's home. The Cubs aren't the Loveable Losers; they are America's team. My grandfather was a Cubs fan. My Dad is a Cubs fan. I am a Cubs fan. For life. Forever. Ron Santo. Fergie Jenkins. Billie Williams. My Cubs. My team.
One of the best years of my life was 2016. This is one of the reasons why it was so good. No World Series will ever top this one. Pure passion and true love for the game.
As a die-hard Cubs fan, it still gives me goosebumps till this day to watch this, my uncle and Grandpa were Cubs fans, they passed away and never got to see this but I do believe they were here in the spirit to help us win our first world series in 108 years
I watch this when I need to remind myself how fast life is and can be taken from you in a instant. I am one of the biggest cubs fans you'd ever meet. I just had my son March 13, 2016 and I am a combat vet and I had a bad problem, an opiate issue and failing the ones around me. I was at my 2nd rehab when the cubs were in the world series, I remember being the only one up when that last ball was hit by Martinez and Bryant slipped and threw a pee and Rizzo caught the ball and put it in his back pocket! These grown men jumping around like a bunch of kids! I was crying by myself on a step in Florida. My ex wife was at home with my son and I was miles away not understanding life! I was asking myself how did I end up here? I didn't have an answer, best day of my life is the birth of my son and Nov 2, 2016 I believe the day they won it! God sometimes I don't have faith or believe or understand life but this reminds me how real it is! This team change my life in way I can't even put into words.
You did put it into words. And very nicely, too. I'll pray for you, Justin. God loves all of us. As a father, sports fan and former Army reservist, I really hope that you're in a better place. God be with you, brother.
April 24, 2020 And i still get chills to this day hearing “The cubs win the World Series, Bryant makes the play it’s over and the cubs have finally won it all 8-7 in 10”
Watching it one week before Opening Day 2024, STILL getting chills, STILL shedding tears at this supremely joyful moment we all shared as fans of the CUBBIES!
Every single series, NLDS, NLCS, WS. Man all of them were so intense and the late game moments and clutch home runs, in my opinion, best Postseason ever.
I've been watching the Cubs on WGN while living in Florida most of my life. From about 5 years old. I have been a huge Cubs fan ever since. This documentary is Superbly done!!! Great Job!!! Co Cubbies!!!!!😊
Been a fan forever and a day. My dad was a fan. My sweet dad passed away 6 years before and missed it. I believe the man was cheering his butt off up in heaven.
Both were in the same year, I just realized that. Super Bowl 50 was in February, Cubs' historical win was in October. Pretty wild. #FlyTheW I was literally in Chicago visiting family when we won Game 7. I pushed back my flight back to Florida (I currently live in Jacksonville) so I could stay for the parade. Best sports moment. EVER.
MANCHESTER UNITED F.C your point? No one in America cares about soccer and by your user name you would think you know it scaled football everywhere but the United States of America🇺🇸🇺🇸
As a Jays fan, I remember rooting for the Cubs to win the WS. I remember when Bryant made that play. When Rizzo Caught it. I think we were all Cubs fans that day
Even as a brewer fan, i was extremely happy to see the Cubs win this. This series was the only time, and will probably be THE only time I’ll root for the Cubs. Congrats on your big win Cubs!
I'm from Chi. Town . Not only did we win but that was the most exciting game and win . I'll never forget that as long as I live . I'm 74 now so I waited a long time . Been to Wrigley and met and seen many of the players . We all prayed for this to be the year and it was answered . The Cubbies put on a special show . my dad was a Cub fan all his life . He died in August 2016 but I know he was there watching the Cubs Win . He was 91 .
Hard not to shed a tear for this team man to comeback 3-1 and when it all was unbelievable to watch and to think for over 100 years they finally did it wow what a series man
I still never forget the day watching that magical moment with my sister at our college in her dorm room. And the celebration began on the strike of my 19th birthday. It's something I'll remember until the end of time.
This was my introduction into baseball and I couldn't have picked a better time to start watching than when this series happened. I'm still shocked at how intense it still is! I get shivers everytime
I keep telling my friends that I will live off of the excitement from that World Series championship until the day I die. I mean I heard stories of sons going to the graveyard to visit their dad's headstone and listening to the game on radio just on the off chance that somehow their dad could hear it because they both shared a love of the Cubs. I find myself watching this over and over just to remember the excitement of the Cubs winning in such an epic way.
I cried like a baby. I looked to the sky and said grandma they did it. I just pictured her jumping up and down smiling. I hadn't felt that close to her since she passed in 2002. This win ment more to people then you know. It wasn't just a game. It was a connection to every cubs fan in the world, alive or passed on. ❤
Had school the next day--history teacher abhorred the Cubs (don't know why considering he's a Red Sox fan but even then--the Cardinals rooted for the Cubs to win) my dad woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me they won. My response? "Are you shitting me?" There's a reason why nobody talks about the 2003 WS run--and this is it.
What a year 2016 was for sports, my cubbies ended the 108 year drought, Lebron won the Cavs their first title after being down 3-1, Peyton manning won the Super Bowl and walked off into the sunset, Kobe Bryant put up 60 points in his final game before retiring. Just to name a few there will never be another year in sports like 2016.
Then also in that following NFL season after Peyton Manning went out then Tom Brady and the Patriots pulled off the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history down 25 points.
Thank you for letting me relive this moment in time. Thank you this was the greatest moment of my life. I'm in tears right now I still cant believe we won the world series. Thank you for this
I went to 2 games. Im a life long Cubs fan. Never thought I'd see the day after 2007. The series was amazing. Greatest ive watched. And my Cubs finally won it in dramatic fashion
I still watch this to this day and cry...I am naturally a royals fan and the video you did for their world series run makes me weep...but this...this is just crying from joy for this team...they deserved it more than anything!
As a Cleveland fan I was sad to see them lose that world series but big big congratulations to the Cubs! If the Cubs can eventually win the world series I hope Cleveland can win the world series too!
I'll never forget this night, my wife and I ended up in a dive bar in northside. I never seen so many old men in tears. No other moment in sports compares to it.
This ball club was the best thing that ever happened to the Cubs. I dont even remember seeing the positivity, love, caring, and support these guys had towards each other and the fans before this group of guys or even after. Just to name a few.. Baez, Rizzo, Lester, Bryant, Schwarber and now today Contreras. These guys were so special to me and all the fans, it was amazing. Wrigley is amazing, but these guys made it magical. And now, they are all gone just 6 years later. It makes me sad. I miss this ball club. They will always have a special place in my heart and memories.🙏❤️

Ive said this since the 2016 WS: obviously I'd love to see my Cubbies win it all again.... but i would love to see the Indians get one. That '16 team was so damn good, top to bottom, so much heart. the Cubs' triumph in the 2016 World Series was a momentous occasion that transcended sports and brought joy to fans around the world. It will forever be remembered as a landmark achievement in the storied history of the Chicago Cubs franchise.
My grandma was around for 85 years. She spent a lot of her time rooting for the Cubs, I’ll never forget sitting next to her, in her living room. When Bryant makes that throw to Rizzo for the final out. She got to see her Cubbies win, and I’ll forever cherish that moment. We both cried, as I jumped around her living room lol. I was 14 years old when they won, I am 22 now. I’ll probably never see them win again, but I see a lot of these comments about how they’ve lost loved ones who never got to see them win. I’d like to think that our loved ones in heaven are the reason they won!

Game 7 of the 2016 WS was quite possibly the best game ever in baseball history.
1991 Game 7 would like to have a chat.
@joeno49 umm I think that they might be dead by now 🤐
The greatest baseball game ever played was on a Wednesday night in Cleveland
Wow this music is unbelievable perfect for this moment and fits perfectly in the video.

Try the song "Float it" from rookie of the year, it fits well to.
One of the best World Series I’ve ever watched. The Cubs and the fans deserved this.

My Cubs. My team.
im a red sox fan but i like the cubs
I’m a dodger fan because I have an favorite baseball player it is Cody belinger

It’s been 4 years. And this still gives me chills every time I watch it. Go cubbies
I'm a Yankees fan, but it also gives me chills when Cubs was about to lose but they didn't. They actually won the 2016 WS
I'm from MALAYSIA. My grandpa loved and rooted this team in whole life. I know he still smile right now 😊
Still tear up watching this. Remember the feeling in 1984, and to see this in my lifetime, what a dream come true. Thanks Cubbies!
As a tigers fan for life, one of the best seasons in the tigers franchise or for any team was The Roar Of 84.
One of the best years of my life was 2016. This is one of the reasons why it was so good. No World Series will ever top this one. Pure passion and true love for the game.
One of the most beautiful World Series all time , Cubs you deserve this beautiful beautiful
As a NY Met Fan wishing this for my Team Again, I just love the Passion this Cubs Team had in this series! They never Gave Up Well Deserved!!!

i remember pacing my living room hours watching game 7
I was hoarse the next day!!!!!!
I pace when watching games too lol
I was sleeping and I didn’t wake up when people were screaming and running down the street
Same
I had school the next day but I just couldn't bring myself to go to bed and I was so happy to see that play
As a die-hard Cubs fan, it still gives me goosebumps till this day to watch this, my uncle and Grandpa were Cubs fans, they passed away and never got to see this but I do believe they were here in the spirit to help us win our first world series in 108 years
i don’t even watch baseball this shit is just inspiring
In 2016 everyone just watched baseball at least the cubs in particular cuz it’s been 108 years
It's the best thing ever...
same
i dont even watch sports
if they make a movie of this (id be there opening night!), the title should just simply be "108"
Or "Breaking The Curse"
And Have The Cubs Players Star In The Movie As Themselves
Or Go Cubs Go!
THEY NEED TO!!
Fever pitch 2
I remember being at work taking breaks to watch game 7. Time is flying.
You will lose many many times, but you will succeed at the end.
-Chicago Cubs
There are still many more games for the cubs to choke, like that game 163
@assassin 24 This was 4 months ago 💀 stay pressed cubs fan
@Justice Rathje Im not the one salt replying to a comment made 5 MONTHS AGO
Every single series, NLDS, NLCS, WS. Man all of them were so intense and the late game moments and clutch home runs, in my opinion, best Postseason ever.

to think he was batting .67 1-15 and hit a hr is pretty funny
haha, exactly my thought!
I live in Chicago and watched every game on my tv it was stressful. And I broke my iPad when they won.
James Althoff you sacrificed the iPad for the win
Gustly 101 yup
Wait so you wanted Indians to win?
Stevie Lil Yadi Acevedo no I was stressed cause I was scared they would lose
Hahahahah
I've been watching the Cubs on WGN while living in Florida most of my life. From about 5 years old. I have been a huge Cubs fan ever since. This documentary is Superbly done!!! Great Job!!! Co Cubbies!!!!!😊
Been a fan forever and a day. My dad was a fan. My sweet dad passed away 6 years before and missed it. I believe the man was cheering his butt off up in heaven.
Melissa Krueger RIP
David Ross is like the Peyton manning of baseball because he won his last game as the championship
Tyler Leyden that is something not many can say and damn he retired in style
@@jaredchacon2645 True, and not only in baseball, but in any major sport.
EVER.
@MANCHESTER UNITED you wanna stop spamming and secondly nobody in america cares about soccer
I think we were all Cubs fans that day
I can’t express the feeling of joy I felt that night. Every time I watch this it’s like an emotional tidal wave. #cubsforever
Even as a brewer fan, i was extremely happy to see the Cubs win this. This series was the only time, and will probably be THE only time I’ll root for the Cubs. Congrats on your big win Cubs!
a true nice brewers fan and i know its been 3 years since you posted this but its fine

I'm no Cubs fan but watching them win the world series was pretty cool
I am a Indians fan and ngl I cried my eyes out when the Cubs won
Single best baseball video on the internet. Flawless editing, music and collection of highlights. This is superb. Kudos.

Still get chills from this, so happy I got to see them win🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
This will always be one of the greatest moments in my life as a cubs fan. I still get excited watching this
Had school the next day--history teacher abhorred the Cubs (don't know why considering he's a Red Sox fan but even then--the Cardinals rooted for the Cubs to win) my dad woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me they won.
Don't forget Leicester City winning the Premier League!
Thank you for letting me relive this moment in time. Thank you this was the greatest moment of my life. I'm in tears right now I still cant believe we won the world series. Thank you for this
God this is amazing but holy shit Rizzo and Bryant were on like every play
they are best friends

I went to 2 games. Im a life long Cubs fan. Never thought I'd see the day after 2007. The series was amazing. Greatest ive watched. And my Cubs finally won it in dramatic fashion
Maddon got fired this weekend so I had to re-visit this happy moment in Cubs history.
My dad cried when this happened. After 40+ years of my dad supporting the Cubs and them finally winning
Who’s here after the Nats win, to simply relive one of the greatest comebacks in WS history.

As a Cleveland fan I was sad to see them lose that world series but big big congratulations to the Cubs! If the Cubs can eventually win the world series I hope Cleveland can win the world series too!
The Indians will never win another WS sadly... especially since they were forced to change names...
I respect the indians
Ay at least Cavs won 2016 nba finals
I’m a cubs fan but I believe the “Guardians” will win a WS
This whole series put me on the edge of my seat it's what I love about baseball
The rain delay, just when it looked like Cleveland was taking control of the game , was something divine. I got nervous and chills all over again!
I'll never forget this night, my wife and I ended up in a dive bar in northside. I never seen so many old men in tears. No other moment in sports compares to it.
Gives me chills to this day, 108 years. It’s over. Fly the W
Agree
this takes the crown for the best moment in Chicago sports history.
"Makes the play. THE CUBS HAVE FINALLY WON IT ALL"

The fairytale ending that you get in all the baseball movies in real life. 4 years later I still get chills!
I've watched this so many times and still tear up every time. My grandpa was a die hard cubs fan all his life but taken away from me in 2013. He would have loved to see the cubs win. This is truly the best world series in history.

Ive said this since the 2016 WS: obviously I'd love to see my Cubbies win it all again.... but i would love to see the Indians get one. That '16 team was so damn good, top to bottom, so much heart. They played their butts off. And the fans i encountered were classy and all were sportsmen. So, believe me when i say, i pull for y'all. Such a deserving team.
This is amazing, my friend has watched every single game. He has bought 5 cubs jerseys. When he saw this win I can just imagine the amount of tears he had and the celebrations he and his family had. Love to see the cubs win.

the Cubs' triumph in the 2016 World Series was a momentous occasion that transcended sports and brought joy to fans around the world. It will forever be remembered as a landmark achievement in the storied history of the Chicago Cubs franchise.
I wanna say thank you cubs. You guys are giving me hope that the dodgers can comeback from down 3-1

The memories this brings back 🔥
My grandma was around for 85 years.
I wish I could live this moment one more time at home watching this

My grandpa was a lifelong Cubs fan. Over the last three years, he aggressively declined with dementia. This World Series in 2016 is one of his last sentient and lucid memories. He waited his whole life for this and got the World Series right before the disease took his mind away from us.
He died this morning, and this is one of the things that I immediately came to. Thank you for this video.
