November 2nd, 2019! I still get chills. Feels like it happened a lot longer ago than 3 years, but at the same time it feels like it was only last week that me and my family watched the Chicago Cubs win the World Series.
This moment meant more to me than my sports team winning. This series was poetry, a beautiful story that had so many unforeseen plot twists and shifts that made it what it is, in my opinion, the greatest World Series ever. And as I'm watching this in a different home, in a different time, I think to myself that everything was going to be just fine. I mean, this team hadn't won it all since 1908 and they played like it. There was no motivation in my life, at that point, and nothing like this series inspires it more. I don't care what anyone says, this series is the most beautiful sporting event out there. You can say Michael Jordan might be more iconic, but what this team represented meant far more. You can do anything.
I was 16 years old watching this. Best moment in my life growing up in Chicago. Made me fall in love with baseball and have some pride in my city. I’ll never forget that year! I get amped up now watching this shit
This was 4 years ago and I’m still getting shivers. As a Cubs fan, and how we haven’t won in so long, I’m so glad we won. And I’m hoping the Indians will win one soon, because they have a no win streak of around 70-80 years.
An interesting note here: After Bryant's HR at 10:25, the Cubs NEVER TRAILED SINCE for the rest of the series. Sure, the game may have been tied, but they either tied it or had the lead. Game 5 = They go up 3 to 0 and win the game 3 to 2. Game 6 = They go up 7 to 0 after 3 Innings. They win the game 9 to 3. Game 7 = Man, this game was a roller coaster for sure. Cubs score in the 1st inning, Indians score in the bottom of 3rd. Tied 1 to 1. Cubs get 2 in the 4th and 2 in the 5th to go up 5 to 1. Indians get 2 back in the bottom of the 5th, making it 5 to 3. Ross solo HR in the top of the 6th makes it 6 to 3. We all know what happened in the bottom of the 8th, let's not talk about it. The game is tied. After the rain delay, Cubs get 2 in the top of the 10th, going up 8 to 6. Indians get 1 in the bottom, but Cubs hold the win. The fact they never trailed since Game 5, is actually amazing, especially when the Cubs bullpen constantly loves to blow it. I'm glad they didn't and held on for the Win.
The best thing about Game 7 was the rain delay before the start of the 10th (?) inning. I cant even imagine what Cubs or Cleveland Fans must have gone through. That was an amazing thing to watch.

If Game 7 isn't THE greatest MLB game ever, it's unquestionably top 3. These highlights were fantastic but I would have also included Schwarber's hard single to lead off the 10th, followed by the most underappreciated play of the entire series: Albert Almora pinch running and tagging from 1st to 2nd on Bryant's deep flyout to center. Almora advancing to 2nd with 1 out forced Cleveland to walk Rizzo before Zobrist came up mega clutch. The Cubs 10th was OUTSTANDING team baseball.
Not a cubs fan, but since Contreras is all but certain to be traded this year, I had to come back and watch these highlights. Truly a special moment for any baseball fan 2016 was
Really forget how the Cubs were down 3-1 and down early in Game 5. They really got off the deck in retrospect. It was their time. They MADE it their time.
Seeing almost all of these guys in a different uniform almost brings a tear to my eyes as a Yankees fan. It feels like a lifetime ago. My life has changed so much. Lost a lot of family members, moved to a new city, had several different jobs, lost my dog of 15 years. Cubs are in the mud. But I still have hope we will make it back to this level, but I know for a fact, it not be as magical as this one. The whole October of 2016 was a fairytale. The greatest game ever played was on a Thursday in Cleveland.

False. Any one that says 2017 was somehow greater than 2016 because of 1 game doesn't know what they're talking about. Game 5 2017 was f--ing amazing, but that series pales in comparison to this one. 2017 doesn't even rank second. 1) 2016 2) 2001 3) 2011 4) 1991 It's your opinion, but in would reconsider your World Series rankings.
I’m a dodger fan and I’m a little salty but I think 2016 is better because of how the rain delay in game 7, Indians blew a 3-1 lead, and how Rajai Davis tied the game with a home run, and how these two teams last World Series wins were past 50 years ago.
The 2016 World Series, means a whole lot to me. As a Cubs fan despite the fact that we won the whole thing for the 1st time in 108 years, this was a series where no one should have lost. Both teams deserved to get where they got, and Game 7 of that series may be the greatest game of all time because of how it unfolded and the storylines of that game.
That’s a good World Series option! Seems to be the best option. But another one would be Chicago and Houston for the series between the two previous champs.
It would be a great matchup for marketing. But because both teams have won World Series titles recently, I don't think it would have that much magic as it would've been in 2003 had both teams made it.
Imagine if they had lost...how brutal 2017 and especially 2018 & 2019 would be. And 2015 when they got swept against a team they didn't lose too that season. Thank God for 2016! "And this one will last a lifetime!"
As a Chicago Cubs fan, I still remember the day, month, year, and time that they won the World Series. They won the World Series on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2016 at 11:58pm, which is 2 minutes before Wednesday, November 3rd even began.
I remember watching this live. As a Cubs fan, that Indians bullpen was scary to go up against. The defense was absolutely solid up until that dropped fly ball at the start of game 5 or 6.
At this time of the year I can't bring myself to watch post season if my Cubs are eliminated, so I relive these wonderful memories of 2016 which, in my biased eyes, is the best World Series of all time. I miss seeing Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, Schwarber, Russell, Lester and Arrieta suiting up in Cubs blue, but these memories can never be taken away. Sadly, I don't think I'll see another Cubs pennant race or WS ring in my lifetime, but hey, we had to wait 108 years for this one so there's die hard Cubs fans who have been though much more hardship before us.
The Best World Series Ever
@Lighthouse in the Storm okay then whats better then this world series?
@Lighthouse in the Storm i mean are u serious tho its was a good series but its not as good as this series
As a Cubs fan, no matter how many times I watch this game I get chills EVERY time
I was 16 years old watching this. Best moment in my life growing up in Chicago. Made me fall in love with baseball and have some pride in my city. I’ll never forget that year! I get amped up now watching this shit
One of the best series in a house full of Cleveland fans....great time to be a cubbie fan.
This was 4 years ago and I’m still getting shivers. As a Cubs fan, and how we haven’t won in so long, I’m so glad we won. And I’m hoping the Indians will win one soon, because they have a no win streak of around 70-80 years.
5 years later and still brings back memorys and make me nervous
still gives me a heart attack, only the Cubs would be in a series like this
An interesting note here: After Bryant's HR at 10:25, the Cubs NEVER TRAILED SINCE for the rest of the series.
This was a great series
17:22 Lebron's reaction is Gold. Its awesome when you see athletes get so pumped up over other sports
I wanna see his reaction to his team losing the 3-1 lead
Lebron wearing a "Cleveland vs everyone" T shirt is comedy gold.
The best thing about Game 7 was the rain delay before the start of the 10th (?) inning. I cant even imagine what Cubs or Cleveland Fans must have gone through. That was an amazing thing to watch.
The Best world series I've ever seen
This is the best thing I’ve ever seen. I’m in tears every time!
Like the video if your a Cubs fan.... and like it if your not

Watching the entire highlight reel. Reflecting back, this was probably one of the closest World Series in history
Cleveland had an October to remember alright.
This is probably one of the best World Series of all time!
Andrew miller really had one of the most unhittable sliders I’ve ever seen. He was electric in this series.
One of the greatest World Series in the history of baseball.
Not bad, but 1991 is STILL the best 🌎 World Series of all time
Game 7 even now will never stop making me nervous and sweating
SAME. Even when I was watching the Series this year I nervous during game 7. The ghost of that series and game still lingers. In a good way, tho!!!
They had one of the biggest curses in sports history if not the biggest and broke it with a bunch of kids. Seeing Baez Rizzo and Bryant leave is so heart breaking. imo best world series of the 2000s
This never gets old
The good old days.
With the 2022 playoffs getting ready to start and my Cubs being back in the “Rebuilding process”
It has me reminiscing of such an amazing WS run we had. which feels like an eternity ago already
It really does feel like an eternity
It feels like a lifetime ago. My life has changed so much. Lost a lot of family members, moved to a new city, had several different jobs, lost my dog of 15 years. Cubs are in the mud. But I still have hope we will make it back to this level, but I know for a fact, it not be as magical as this one. The whole October of 2016 was a fairytale. The greatest game ever played was on a Thursday in Cleveland.
@@Nick9Three isn’t that the trust
I lost both my parents
I’m so glad I got to witness the cubs win the series with my dad and brought him to a few playoffs games
I’m not in a wheelchair, live half way across the states, went through a lot of ladies since then
Crazy to think how much has changed in that short time
Just hoping the bulls and bears start picking up the slack
Because even tho I do think the cubs have some great prospects, are organization is a mess
@@Chi-town1369 The Bears are on the right track! Excited for this season. Can’t wait to see Justin Fields prove all the haters wrong. The bulls on the other hand, I don’t think we will ever see them in the finals again. The Cubs are playing well with all things considered. I’m just hoping they keep Bellinger and trade some of the dead weight out of the bullpen.
@@Nick9Three I am also very excited about the bears
I think we had a great offseason, they have just let me down many times lol
Unfortunately the bulls are so far away, I’m glad my child hood witnessed all those titles and the jordan years but I’d like to witness that as an adult as well
The cubs winning it all just hit different
One of the most notable comebacks in all of sports!
not a Cubs but I'll never forget "The 39-year-old" David Ross doing that. Im a Red Sox fan. I know many that were happy he did that.
Crazy how much Madden made Chapman work with such a large lead. I get it’s do or die, but 9-1 you can probably save him for game 7. Almost cost him.
2016 World Series was great known as the greatest comeback 3-1 in WS history
but
2017 Wolrd Series was even greater known as the greatest WS in recent years
In the end Both WS were Great
False. Any one that says 2017 was somehow greater than 2016 because of 1 game doesn't know what they're talking about. Game 5 2017 was f--ing amazing, but that series pales in comparison to this one. 2017 doesn't even rank second.
1) 2016
2) 2001
3) 2011
4) 1991
It's your opinion, but in would reconsider your World Series rankings.
This comment aged poorly.
I’m a dodger fan and I’m a little salty but I think 2016 is better because of how the rain delay in game 7, Indians blew a 3-1 lead, and how Rajai Davis tied the game with a home run, and how these two teams last World Series wins were past 50 years ago.
I think the 2017 WS is one of the worst because of the cheating trashstros
The bottom of the 9th was the scariest part of this game for me couldn’t feel my legs thinking we could get walked off...
One of the best world series ever!
Greatest World Series ever
It’s been almost 6 years and I still get chills
Damn Cleveland blew a 3-1 lead at home the same year the Cavs came back down 3-1 thats insane
You gotta make these for more World Series... this video is so good lol
3 years later🐐
Game 7 was awesome
108 years.....
This moment is historic💙🐻
Still get goosebumps. Man I love sports
couldn’t have asked for a more historic matchup and a historic world series finish and series
this cubs team was awesome
Does anyone else think a Red Sox-Cubs World Series would be amazing?
Hell yes especially that both clubs are my favorite
That’s a good World Series option! Seems to be the best option. But another one would be Chicago and Houston for the series between the two previous champs.
Ben Drescher
Yes! Both have been underdogs in their history, and also Fenway and Wrigley? That’s amazing.
It would be a great matchup for marketing. But because both teams have won World Series titles recently, I don't think it would have that much magic as it would've been in 2003 had both teams made it.
That would be awesome and historic
WOW. Every World Series I watch, it just gets even better to watch but this one is for the books
Imagine if they had lost...how brutal 2017 and especially 2018 & 2019 would be. And 2015 when they got swept against a team they didn't lose too that season. Thank God for 2016! "And this one will last a lifetime!"
Even now it's an amazing match!!!!!!👀
2016 and 2021 will go down as the best seasons I’ve watched in my lifetime. I’m only 16, but both of these seasons were amazing to me
@Lighthouse in the Storm yes Ik the steroid era was amazing. I wasn’t able to watch it
As a Chicago Cubs fan, I still remember the day, month, year, and time that they won the World Series. They won the World Series on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2016 at 11:58pm, which is 2 minutes before Wednesday, November 3rd even began.
Top 3 World Series ever
My first world series I watched. Nothing will ever top this; I sure hope another WS will tho.
Chapman throwing 40+ was crazy in game 5
Go Cubs Go!. Fly the "W".
When Kluber got pulled in Game 1 he smiled and then it was like he remembered he wasn’t supposed to do that
How Chapman's arm didn't frekin fall off is a miracle. That series was like 2-heavyweights slugging it out.
Zobrist was my favorite player ever and to see him hitting that double is the best feeling ever as a me of his fans
I love watching that year
What an exciting world series it was. Congrats cubs!
This world series got me into baseball
the way it fades out afte baez strikes out i love it
Best word series I’ve ever seen
That game 7 was one of the most iconic games in American sports history! And that’s from an Orioles fan.
Joe buck is a great announcer bro he is one of my favorite baseball announcers!
The first run scored in the world series was on an 0-1 chopper to left, the last out of the series was on an 0-1 chopper to left
Game 7 of that World Series was Soo Intense!
Best game ever ever i v seen
The greatest WS of the 2010's no arguement
Right now the only thing I can do is cry. I fell in love with the Cubs because of rizzo and Bryant and now there gone
Don't worry man, new heroes will come and go.
I am Japanese and love MLB very much. Both teams who have never seen such a match are the best
Happy 2023 everyone!😊
Great series still cant believe Cleveland lost this one
