I’m English. I’m a die-hard Gooner. 47 years old. I started doing shift work in 2001, and got into baseball working nights. I had to pick a team and I picked the Royals coz they were the worst team out there and us Brits love an underdog. I watched the 100 loss seasons, saw this team grow, died a little bit when the giants edged us the year before. And Despite Arsenal having their best period ever and winning all sorts of shit throughout the early 2000s, this is the best I’ve ever felt watching sport. I was swapping my day shifts for night shifts throughout the playoffs just so I could stream the games. And I was in my 40s behaving like a f’kin fanboy. F’kin tears man.. just the best... and I really don’t mind at all that The Royals are back in 2019 where I found them in 2001, because THIS happened. Thanks for this video Brad. Must be 20 times I’ve watched it. RIP ACE.
I have never seen any sports team in history like the Royals they were a new breed, they played fun baseball. Everyone on the team contributed to this world series.
Sucks we couldn’t afford to keep the whole team. Sold the farm for a 2-3 year run. It was a blast. LoCain,Hoz,Moose,Zobrist,Escobar,Wade,Cueto,Perez,Orlando,Gordon,ACE and the whole gang. The Sandlot boys! They loved each other and they loved playing team baseball, and everyone of them believed in each other. Hope it’s not as long of a WS drought to get back to the big one. They made baseball in KC fun again. Thanks for everything boys!
Joe O'Malley I’m part of The Kansas City family. I became a full Chiefs fan ever since the Rams went back to LA! The chiefs are my football team and the Royals are my baseball team when they’re not facing the Cardinals.
I was at the A's sudden death game in 2014. Best playoff game of all time. I nearly welled up when they won it all though. Never thought I'd see the Royals win b2b pennants and a WS and the Chiefs hosting 4 straight AFCCG and winning a SB in my lifetime let alone in a span of 5yrs.
Same here man, hoping one day the Royals can bring another one home. I was absolutely ecstatic when the Chiefs won the Lombardi, but something about that 2015 run was simply magic.

Yeah true I wish they won in 2014 so both chiefs and royals would’ve beaten a San Fran team in finals and than a year later lose to a team that didn’t make the playoffs the year before Bucs and Mets

I went to Game 7 of the 2014 World Series. I’m a Royals fan who grew up in Kansas City. I remember going to work the next day and it was relatively quiet around town. I remember sitting there thinking that the Royals were literally just a big play or two away from changing the entire vibe of the city. The great thing is they came back and won it all the next year, and afterward the city was invigorated. Going to the parade was an experience I’ll never forget. I didn’t fully understand how big of a difference there was between winning and losing the World Series until witnessing those two seasons.
This is the reason people love sports. I'm not by any means a "sports fan." I love the Royals, but I don't watch baseball that much, but watching these games was amazing. The comeback, the excitement, all amazing. It's what people who call sports boring always forget about.
I was also at game 7 in 2014 it broke my heart when we lost, on the way out of the stadium I was sobbing (in middle school at the time) and some dude gave me a bag of confetti and said bring it back next year when we take it all, I did just that.
9 years later we are looking eerily similar to the 2014 team..playoff bound and can surprise everyone and make a deep run..next season though they will be even better just like 15
I actually felt sorry for the Mets and their fans. I had seen the Royals play many times that season and knew they were going to win. Just some kinda magic there.
IVe probably watched this video 10+ times, cant get enough of my Royals. Hopefully I dont have to wait another 30 years to see them win another. Gonna miss this team. I wish we would of never traded Wade Davis, once we had the lead I knew the game was over once he took over. During their run even when we were behind I always had faith they would somehow come back and win the game.
Yeah, the Davis trade...uhh...didn't like it, and the Cubs won that trade big time. Still, I'm hoping the Royals can channel some 2014 or 2015 magic to at least get a wild card. Although, it is quite a race right now.

This might be one of the greatest pure team efforts through basically 2 seasons of any sport ever, nobody just trying to yank homers every play. Every person down the order got hits and kept it moving it was so much more exciting than strikeout/hr. Defense and pitching was amazing and played their home field perfectly. Will we see this again in our lifetime? Maybe, but it won't be with this special group. RIP Ace. Goodbye Moose and Hoz and Cain. Thanks Zobrist! It was so much fun.
Giant's fan here. There wasn't 2 more deserving teams to be in the 2014 series. The Royals outscored the Giants overall and it took a unbelievable performance by Bumgarner to secure the series. I am very happy the Royals won it all in 2015 and fitting being 30 years after George Brett and company did it. Congratulations, Kansas City Royals.
Bumgarner broke our hearts, but that was still a fun postseason. My brother and I were at Kauffman and watched them sweep Baltimore flr the Pennant. The Team of Dynasty vs. The Team of Destiny going down to the wire. I don't think the Royals would have gone back in 2015 if it weren't for 2014's heartbreak. They were on a mission to prove everyone wrong.
This is why running and steals are still important. It puts pressure on the defense and frequently causes them to make mistakes. Eventually some team will realize this again and use it to counter act the HR or K mindset.
This was fun to watch. I'm a Tigers fan, but I've always the world of the Royals when theyrepresented our division and league in the post-season. Bravo, KC!
This Royals group was absolutely amazing. I cannot remember ever enjoying watching a team play this game as much as I enjoyed watching this team. I would put this team up against any team in the history of MLB and what ever team you wanted to throw at them, at the very least the other historically significanly great team would know they're going to be in a fight. What didn't this team do in their run. Pure BELIEF and magic. One of the MOST entertaining great teams ever ! Great great video BTW, thank you to Hensen Productions.
2014 and 2015 were truly memorable for true Royals fans. If not for the legendary performance of Madison Bumgarner Kansas City would likely have been back-to-back World Series champions.

I have watched this video at least once a week since Wade painted that inside corner. Thank you. This captures the run better than any video out there. Seriously Brad + Team, THANK YOU.
And congrats to him frankly. I'm glad he was able to get the proper recognition for such an amazing feat (2 rings with 2 diff teams back to back) Joe Maddon specifically wanted him and heavily endorsed him to Theo to mate sure and get him before that championship season for cubs. He had success with him in Tampa going to world series and according to Maddon he will be the next phenom "player to manager" right after retirement. I love players like Zobrist who obviously have very high baseball acumens and are very valuable to their teams because even though they won't 'wow' anyone with huge stats in one area but they'll be consistently good in many areas for a while. To be the leadoff hitter on a team like the '16 cubs with those hitters, be extremely productive and especially reliable with the OPS he had and at his age was nothing short of amazing. Can't wait to see the guy manage. I think guys like Cora, Girardi, Matheny, Kapler, Counsel and soon Zobrist is the new wave of young managers fresh out of the league and how the game is played now vs the older type guy who's Benn around to 50 places and in his late 40s before given a chance
I'm not a royals fan, (Yankees fan here) but if I could play on a team for a year it would definitely be the 2015 Royals. Their playing styles just meshed together so well. his was the first world series I ever watched (I'm 13 now) and it still isn't old.
@@bummer1912 That's right, dad from buffalo, mom from kc,but I like the royals better, not much of a yankees, except for in the playoffs the last five years
I completely agree. After the announcer went bonkers on Corrieas second homer, he redeemed himself with this call. But then Hosmer's homer in the 9th to seal it was another dud. Then he made up for it with Morales's homer 2 days later to seal it.....
Yes!! I grew up in KC, I spent more time in Kauffman and Arrowhead than I did at home. I grew up in that parking lot and I always get chills remembering where we came from.
I watched this and nearly 10 years later I still get a little teary-eyed. I just wish Brad would have shown Wade Davis masterful pitching versus Toronto in that ninth inning. A thing of beauty.
As a rangers fan, always loved when the Royals are doing well. I remember their postseason runs in 2014 and 2015 were so fun to watch. I went to a game at Kaufman in 2017 and the fans were awesome and it was a great ballpark to watch a ballgame.
You know, I feel the same about the Rangers. I was pulling for you guys so much in 2010 and 2011. To this day, I still cannot believe how incredibly lucky the Cardinals were in 2011.

It's 2021 and it still gives me goosebumps!! I was blessed to be able to go to a few playoff games in KC and I'll never forget it- told my husband you can't put a price on history... There's no place like home...No fans like ours... No stadiums like Kaufman,Arrowhead, Sporting KC, Allen Field House and I guess I'll include KSU/MU too lol #comebackkids #raisedroyal
I'm a little league coach in kansas city after our boys in blue made it to the world series in 14 and winning it in 15 inspired a new generation of baseball players and fans thanks for the memories guys proud to be from kc!
@@lowden7268This year’s Diamondbacks team in 2023 reminds me so much of this Royals team, the grit they have and the way they play are so similar to each other. Average in home runs but still having their small ball, a mixture of old and new.
The Royals were so much fun to watch in the World Series the past two years. I mean, they learned something in 2014 about how to win games, and show resiliency, and not give up. Even though they fell short, they battled ALL SERIES LONG. In 2015, that offense was KILLING fastballs all over the please all year long, including the postseason. I didn't see a lot of strikeouts, that's for sure. And they were king of the comebacks. Royals just kept coming, and coming, and coming, and would never give up. Really enjoyed watching this team in 2015. I look forward to watching this team again in 2016.
+Derek Mathews That's why they were labeled the comeback kids. I agree this team was fun to watch for the past two seasons. They were 90 feet last season away from tieing it in game 7 of the World Series. They used that to fuel them to do whatever it takes and overcome every obstacle to achieve there ultimate goal. The heart in this team is infectious and amazing to watch. I can't wait to see what they do in 2016!
I was 8 at the time and now I’m 13 but I remember being in school during the Astros series and we asked our teacher the score of game 4. She said she we were down a lot. When I got home for the end it was one the most exciting endings for me. A month later I get to see my team when their first World Series in years. Thanks Royals for a great team that will never be forgotten!
It was one of those moments where everyone continues to ask: Where were you when the Royals brought it back home after 30 years of heartbreak? Where were you when Wade Davis made that final punchout of the 2015 World Series? Where were you when the Royals made it the final 90 feet? And what did you do to celebrate it? My answer: I was at home, sitting on the couch in a dimly lit living room when they did it. And what I did to celebrate was to simply raise my fists in not just triumph...but relief. Relief in that we had exorcised the demons of defeat and that we had finally-albeit briefly-got to see what it was like from the mountaintop after walking through 30 years of darkness and despair. So to the boys who helped to bring it back home: Thanks for the memories...we are forever grateful for what you did.
at the 8:30 mark, Bautista get's a ball down the right field line and immediately turns and throws to second without looking at the runner going to third, they put that in their mind castle for the next opportunity and Cain "he can fly" made them pay later in the series! love it!
Fantastic team effort all the way. Said the Announcer: "They just keep finding ways!" Look at their dirty uniforms. Shows the way they played ... with determination, grit and heart.
As a Royals fan watching the 2023 team. It is evident that the team has talent like Bobby Witt Jr, Vinnie Pasquantino, MJ Melendez, and more talent in the minors. What these guys lack though is the heart and the desire to win at all costs. The "keep the line moving" mentality, picking up the pitching when it's bad or the pitching picking up the hitting when it's bad. I hope we can get back to consistently winning baseball, especially in an era where small-market teams are always at the deficit of big markets who can buy players.
Coming from a braves fan here, I remember watching their postseason run in 2014 and 2015. There was something special about those teams. They were scrappy, told they weren’t good enough, “one year wonders”. They had the hunger that drives teams and players to success.

Will never forget that Game 4 of ALDS.
This still makes me cry everytime. Here again in a way too say “so long partner” to Hosmer
I’m so happy the 2015 Royals won the World Series however the 2014 Kansas City Royals will forever be my all-time favorite.
@@boogitybear2283 I can get that, all of them deserve a ring honestly it’s so hard
The 2014-15 season was the best Royals series ever

When Zobrist gets back to back rings
2015- Royals
2016- Cubs
I think guys like Cora, Girardi, Matheny, Kapler, Counsel and soon Zobrist is the new wave of young managers fresh out of the league and how the game is played now vs the older type guy who's Benn around to 50 places and in his late 40s before given a chance
probably the best small ball team ever. this was incredible
9 years later… we’re back🥲
I am a royals fan and I'm watching this on UA-cam and smiling the hole time
Whenever I watch this it gives me hope for this years team. And next years Chiefs squad
Hope, is why the chiefs will win next year. We will crush the patriots the damn cheaters.

I'm not a royals fan, (Yankees fan here) but if I could play on a team for a year it would definitely be the 2015 Royals. Their playing styles just meshed together so well. his was the first world series I ever watched (I'm 13 now) and it still isn't old.

The "Kansas City has tied it in the eigth!!!" gives me chills everytime!
I completely agree. After the announcer went bonkers on Corrieas second homer, he redeemed himself with this call. But then Hosmer's homer in the 9th to seal it was another dud. Then he made up for it with Morales's homer 2 days later to seal it.....
Man this 2014 and 2015 Royals were so underrated and so exciting to watch. Wish I still remembered watching some of these games
Gg
same
I miss 2015 so bad
Rest In Peace Ventura u were great for us❤❤😢
Not even a royal fan and this makes me emotional and gives me chills (giant fan)
That season was absolutely magical
Unbelievable how the 2014 Royals and 2015 Royals put the ball into play, and kept the line moving. I will throw in the stolen bases too.
yeah, but notice they don't show the kc defecits much...
there weren't any, LOL
Hell, in 2014 they weren't supposed to make the WS, even the Postseason, they got really lucky that year.
Just rewatched this. Well done. Still brings a tear to my eye when the final out is recorded.
Thomas Cahill me too
Chills, I visit this video every couple months to relive history 🥹
Same brother!!!

A thing of beauty.
one of the best teams kansas city has ever had. great memories from this royals team
Every single player on that team had the clutch gene. They were all main characters.
Watching during quarantine this shit gives me chills
As a rangers fan, always loved when the Royals are doing well. I remember their postseason runs in 2014 and 2015 were so fun to watch. I went to a game at Kaufman in 2017 and the fans were awesome and it was a great ballpark to watch a ballgame.
You know, I feel the same about the Rangers. I was pulling for you guys so much in 2010 and 2011. To this day, I still cannot believe how incredibly lucky the Cardinals were in 2011.
The 2015 Kansas City Royals, World Series Champion's, Best come from Behind Team !!! Just Like Our(Come from Behind) 2019 World Champion's The Kansas City Chiefs !!!

Go Chiefs!! We will get it back for SB 56. And the Royals actually look pretty good this year with their new prospect in Bobby Witt.
RIP Valbuena and Ventura

That team and city went thru so much that year, yet persevered, and bound and determined to finish what they started.
I’ve watched this whole video from start to finish about 10-15 times and it just never gets old!!! “Keep the line moving”

Thank you Bradley. Thank you to the Kansas City Royals and their fans for a great year of baseball.

HUGE Mets fan here. We had a chance to win EVERY game of the series and blew every one. I guess the 2015 royals were better than the 2015 Mets! Well played and I hope the Mets will win the World Series sometime soon!
We appreciate you being fair

@@lowden7268This year’s Diamondbacks team in 2023 reminds me so much of this Royals team, the grit they have and the way they play are so similar to each other. Average in home runs but still having their small ball, a mixture of old and new.
Perfect recap to a great season. Brought back the excitement of season. Well done Brad.
+Nichole Asquith Thank you so much for your kind words :)
Watching in 24 hoping you can make a sequel to this with this group! We've got a shot!
So to the boys who helped to bring it back home: Thanks for the memories...we are forever grateful for what you did.
at the 8:30 mark, Bautista get's a ball down the right field line and immediately turns and throws to second without looking at the runner going to third, they put that in their mind castle for the next opportunity and Cain "he can fly" made them pay later in the series! love it!
It gives me chills every time I watch this video. We probably won't make it this year, but last year was so fun to watch.
Thank you :)
Fantastic team effort all the way. Said the Announcer: "They just keep finding ways!" Look at their dirty uniforms. Shows the way they played ... with determination, grit and heart.
Couldn't of said it better I am glad you enjoyed it :)
Altuve after game 5: Guys! I just got a crazy idea!
😂💀
As a Royals fan watching the 2023 team. It is evident that the team has talent like Bobby Witt Jr, Vinnie Pasquantino, MJ Melendez, and more talent in the minors. What these guys lack though is the heart and the desire to win at all costs. The "keep the line moving" mentality, picking up the pitching when it's bad or the pitching picking up the hitting when it's bad. I hope we can get back to consistently winning baseball, especially in an era where small-market teams are always at the deficit of big markets who can buy players.
Amazing video. Thank you. Brought tears to my eyes. Forever Royal. "Let's go Royals!" *clap clap, clap clap clap*
Thank you so much!
Little did they know we were the kings of comebacks
Coming from a braves fan here, I remember watching their postseason run in 2014 and 2015. There was something special about those teams. They were scrappy, told they weren’t good enough, “one year wonders”. They had the hunger that drives teams and players to success.
