You Cleveland fans were total class. Even though the tough game 7 loss....to come so close must have been the bitterest of pills to swallow....you all also understood the pain of the seemingly endless drought. You were among the very first to congratulate the Cubs and their fans. It was definitely noted and really showed your true colors of being honorable competitors who were just as worthy. Hoping you get your next title soon. : )

@@whatareyoulookingat908 my favorite memory from this time was on halloween 2016. I was sitting with my dad and some of the neighborhood dads, just passing out candy when one of them casually mentions "You know how everyone is sayin the cavs came back from being down 3-1 and kept making jokes..." (the indians were up 3-1 or 3-2 right now) and we all just sorta looked at him like "Why would u even bring that juju into this world". He was too strong for us that day, but watchin this video really does make me think, of anyone to lose to, im glad it was the cubs.

I was rooting for the Cubs.
But I would never, NEVER claim to be a Cubs FAN. Because that would demean the people who waited 108 years for their Cubs to win a World Series, the fans who were born, lived, and died without ever seeing the Cubs win a World Series. I have immense respect for every true Cubs fan. Especially for the ones who waited, 20, 30, 40, 50 years or more, and remained steadfast fans. I don't think any of you stopped believing after the Indians took a 3-1 lead in the series. I did. I thought the Cubs were out of it.

In less than 4 minutes, you've captured the agony and elation of a 100+ year drought through the eyes of this team (my team)'s fans. Great job on the video, I too still remember this vividly. Truly one of the greatest moments in sports, possibly going beyond sports, history. Brings tears to my eyes seeing the older generations that have been waiting far longer than I have for this to happen. They act like they're 1,000 times better than the White Sox when fact is, they both have the same number of WS championships: in fact, White Sox actually had more for 11 years until the Cubs got one again in 2016. Went up and visited Chicago the year this happened, saw the Cardinals and the Cubs play. It was the Chapman 3 pitch inning. I was there, not gonna lie, repping my state, wearing my LSU shirt. After extra innings, and hearing Go Cubs Go, listening to those fans go wild, I was an instant fan. Awesome video. There’s so much that is beautiful about this. From people watching at home, in the local bar, at The Jake, to faithfully standing by outside Wrigley. Regardless of what team anyone supported (Yankees for me), everyone recognized the history that night. Watching reaction vids to the Cubs securing the ‘16 fall classic gets me wicked choked up, but it’s not just because I got to be alive for something many Cubs fans had gone their entire lives without seeing. It was the bare bones of it all; mechanically, the 2016 World Series was everything anyone could have hoped for. It was a triumph story inscribed in the tome of an American mythos that has always and will forever continue to bring wonder to the younger generations, and pride to our elders. Baseball, our great past time, proved once more that it is a pivotal piece to the cultural American puzzle. And the journey of the 2016 Cubs exemplifies this perfectly.

Same here. I saw the Sox pull it off in '04,been a Sox fan since 1986. Red Sox Nation understood the Cubs Nation's pain and now that pain is gone, just like the Sox fans' pain in 2004.

Red Sox Curse of the Bambino ended in 2007 I felt. It's easy to win one because you are lucky. I heard that once. But 2007 means two titles: What Bambino? LOL

Eric Lima We had a drought to but in 04 it was amazing for Boston. Also even better in '13 since it ended a 95 year drought winning it at Fenway Park and the aftermath of the bombings too. We may have lost the cup but we won the world series

As a Cardinals fan with plenty of Cub fans as family, I was pulling for you guys to win one. My grandmother and I (Cardinals fans) sat and watched the game with my grandpa. When Davis hit the homer against Chapman he decided to go to sleep. We woke him back up just in time for their final run of the game and so he could watch the final outs. Besides the 2011 WS game 6 and 7 this was my my happiest baseball moment. It was bittersweet because my great grandfather who had been a Cubs fan his whole life (born 1933) died a month or so prior. This game we enjoy is beautiful.

I’ll never forget this moment. 19 years old, living in Milwaukee at the time and took the train down to spend that night outside wrigley. One of the most amazing nights of my life, and one of the most stressful nights of my life. I shared the experience with my brother, we both shed tears of joy on that final play. Won’t ever experience anything like it ever again

This Orioles fan was totally thrilled for the Cubs and their fans. 2016 was your year.

Perfectly acceptable. So am I. Just thinking about all the people associated with the Cubs organization (Harry Caray, Ron Santo, Ernie Banks, Jack Brickhouse, and so many others) that left this world before this moment, and all those near and dear to us who passed and never got to see it (my grandparents, for example) can trigger a whole bunch of different emotions.

My favorite story of that night: Actor and Chicago native Joe Mantegna had a big watch party at his restaurant in LA, but he couldn't take the drama of the last inning. He walked outside the restaurant where a local TV crew was doing a live remote and asked if he could watch the last half inning in the truck. When Rizzo caught the last out, he threw open the door, expecting an eruption of cheers from the restaurant. Nothing. Dead silence. That's when he remembered that the game was on a 15-second delay, and the truck had the live feed. Then...mayhem.
