Now that's impressive I don't think I've ever seen any other company give props to UA-camrs for using their products without being paid of course. I think this gentleman had a wonderful idea and yes he made the video very entertaining and very easy steps to follow definitely has a like from me. Now That's What I Call thinking outside the box .
You should try '70s Cadillac wheelcovers. Basically, an updated version of the '57 Cad wheelcovers. I had a set of these on my '56 Chevy and they looked fabulous. For the centers, I used those chrome domes.
Thanks for posting this! I was wanting to try this on some electric scooter tires. I read that paint and shoe polish tend to turn yellow after a while so I was going to try a coat of clear Flex Seal first, then white Flex Seal and see if that kept it from changing colors. I'm sure there is something that you can put down on the tire first to keep the next coat of whatever you use from discoloring. I wonder if the tire clear coat stuff would work if you sprayed it first?
The existing white letter sidewall could have been buffed out to expose the white underneath thus making them whitewall to any width desireable. Looks good though 👌
ua-cam.com/video/1ZG1Ve4Gg_U/v-deo.html This guy did the same thing, he’s got several uploads showing how well they’ve held up months later and even in really crummy weather conditions.
It's a really cool idea but I don't know if I'll try it I think I'll just end up buying some Flappers instead. I feel that the maintenance on this might be a little troublesome.
Cool, that should be part of the next FLEX Seal commercial. I put some whitewalls on my Avalon, had to go down from 16inch rim to 15 inch and it worked out for me. Got a video of the Avalon on Whitewalls on my ch. for reference.
New tires will release oils. Better to wait 6-8 months then whitewall them. That way some of the oils can release before the application of the whitewalls.
Travis Taylor they are holding better than expected. I’ve put several hundred miles in them. They do get dirty easier than the white wall tires, but I just use Krud Kutter and scrim them good.
Great diy video bro, nice ride too that white wall really pops!!!! So would you say it’s worth it other than getting dirty you’ve got no peeling and cracking? I expect the dirt but More so worried about the cracking and peeling.
JStovall thanks. So far there is no cracking, peeling or bubbling. They are holding up very well. Right now they are more beige than white, but I’ve had good luck cleaning them. For my current situation, wide whitewall tires don’t rank high in the family budget. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
I’m considering painting my tire letters white with flex seal also. I think using flexible waterproof paint is key as opposed to non-flexible oil based paint. How did your tire letters come out? Any peeling or cracking?
@@SurfingWithTheMartian I've since been stopped using the flex seal because it doesn't dry too well & slings on the paint which is not easy to get off, I now use tire letter from app called temu, their letters are raised & I use tire glue from Amazon to install & they've been great
Jeff Childers Still good to hear an update non the less. As far as color goes? Has the brown oil seeped through the white wall paint? that’s very interesting I’ve often thought about this many times but never has an extra rim or tire to do it. Might do it as an experiment.
Oscar Suchite just sitting in the yard they do get very dark. Not sure if it’s the oils seeping from the inside or the dirt from rain splashing up on the outside. The white comes back about 80% when I clean them up. I really want to try the clear flex seal to see if that makes a difference.
Now that's an idea I just not sure if the clear coat would eventually ruin the tire. But you know what I have a set tires that are all beat up I'm definitely going to try it on them
Even tho this video is 3 yrs old,,portal white walls would have done him justice,, however still looks good tho & must admit it's set offed pretty good still...
A fantastic idea for your tires, and even better video. We love the details and work you put in to make this look easy. Send us a Dm and let's talk!
Social Media done right, well done +flex seal! …great vid op!
Im trying this ASAP never used flex seal before

Everyone is gangsta till flex seal pulls up in the comments
What's the update how long did this last and the durability
HEY JEFF: Any update on how this held up after 15 months?
How did the white walls hold up
100% better! Looks great! Love the stance! You don’t see these cars at car shows . Sweeeeet!
Man it looks totally different and better with the whitewalls! I did the same with Flex Seal, so far so good.
How long did it last
Man those look good cant even tell its flex seal 😎👍🔥

FYI, if you sand down the white letters, there white underneath...
made a big difference with the 63 buick caps .good job.
I think I’ll do that plus put porta while walls on I think the flex seal might glue them to tires .
could put the wheel on the back, jacked up in gear and paint while the rires slowly spinnig?
Doesn't look too bad those white walls you did a good job I like them I like them really nice I might have to try that on my black walls 👍🏼
Both sides look gangster, but its the hood vs the barrio. 😂
I like it though! It looks bada$$!
Looks sharp! I'm going to try this.

Hahah was not expecting the puppy to pop up in video. But how did they hold up?
Man it really did help the look a lot!
How long does it last? Love the idea

how well did these hold up? a year later?
Nice vid. Are they still white..Ive seen many become brownish after a year. Eager to read your reply 😊
Get some white vinyl dye to go over the flex seal. It will stay white a lot longer.
It's a really cool idea but I don't know if I'll try it I think I'll just end up buying some Flappers instead. I feel that the maintenance on this might be a little troublesome.
Is there a reason you didn't use the spray-can version?

You could've just shaved the white letter and you would have a white wall underneath
I seen that process done and things can go wrong very easily if you shave too much
Looks good to me! Nice job, thanks.
Amazing wildcat!
You actually could have grinded on the white letters to make wide white walls 👍🏽
Great video bro. I just had to get new white walls (1.5 inch) for my 85 caprice.
@Mikes Fabrications really really
I love it but can you wash the white wall when it gets dirty
Of course you can
Porter walls have worked 4 me..get a set 4 les then a hundred bucks...the paint only lasted a short time 4 me...
Thats a white lettering tire just shave it
looks good💯 where did you get the performance GT tires🤔

Some guys add Automotive White Spray dye over the flexseal to make it more UV stabile
Looks cool bro good job!!
How are they holding up with driving on them?

Cool one more thing if you would, what can if take did u use?
I ask cause I’m having a hard time basking in a circle lol
I just painted my tire letters with this, I sure hope it doesn't peel off
Peeling off would be better than bubbling or changing colour bc you can just try again lol

Good idea, hope it holds up for you! Have you ever heard of using spray paint on tires instead? Does it not hold up?
Don't do it. Spray paint usually flakes off and definitely yellows relatively quickly
Nice!!
Looks great!!!
Does it peel off??
How are they holding up?
Harley Holic unfortunately I haven’t really put them to the test. The car has been down and it’s not been priority.

Looks better without the caps
In the rain hold up
Clear coat it!

I can't beleave nobody is saying...get some porter walls...
Mannnnn i thought u was gluing something on and you done used that stuff to paint your damn tire with it smh
Even tho this video is 3 yrs old,,portal white walls would have done him justice,, however still looks good tho & must admit it's set offed pretty good still...
How has it held up so far?
How’s it holding up ?
