      @@Angel_Diyaa I don't see why you couldn't, except for the amount of time you'll be spending working as an agent. If you kept up on the legal system and all the things you'd need to be up to date with to practice law, then it wouldn't be much of a transition.

    Power is great, but in addition to that elected officials/government reps are often able to turn their experience into really lucrative opportunities after leaving government. That could include lobbying, consulting/advising, the “government affairs” office of a big company.

I just wasn’t sure what kind of lawyer I wanted to be but there is a tonnnn of different lawyers it’s very tricky to choose! I’m currently in 10th grade I’ve been getting honorolls since 6th grade and continuing to do so to become a lawyer. Any tips or anything to help me kinda find my path in law?

    • @TheAspiringBoss
      @TheAspiringBoss  3 роки тому +14

      I would do more research on types of lawyers so you can see what you might like. Then seek an internship/shadowing or even conversation with someone who practices that type of law. You are really early in the process though so don't put too much pressure on yourself to pick a path just yet. I think you're doing everything right right now by focusing on your grades.

    Thanks for your content. I'd like to work in particular niches like cybersecurity + crisis management for national security (whether it be CIA, FBI, DHS, or the Pentagon) and/or something venture capital finance-related (startups, angel investing); I live in NYC so, I'd like to also work in Wall Street to some capacity. I am not striving towards big law or some prestigious law school to brag about. That being said, I am looking for quality education along with a great network and mentoring. Since law school isn't cheap, I'm looking for the best return on investment.

    I have my real estate license. (inactive) You pass the course, you take the exam. You connect with a real estate company through which you get your license. You can't get your license without going through a real estate company. After 3 years of having an active license and actively working as a real estate agent, you can take the exam to be a real estate broker. As a broker, you can open your own real estate company and you are allowed to have a real estate license on your own without being connected to any company. A broker and/or an agent can both sell or buy on behalf of a client. An agent is able to represent the buyer or the seller. And so is a broker. The two titles are not mutually exclusive. (caveat: some of these rules may be statutory. e.g. 3 year rule.) BTW, thank you for this video. I am studying for the LSAT at this moment.

    • @TheAspiringBoss
      @TheAspiringBoss  3 роки тому +1

      There are exceptions for licensed attorneys. At least in Missouri that is the case. No minimum workin requirement to take the broker exam - you can take the exam as long as you pass the agent exam. Like with every profession, things tend to vary by state. Good luck with the LSAT!

    • @brittanybutts4529
      @brittanybutts4529 3 роки тому

      @@TheAspiringBoss Thanks for the reply. I acknowledge the difference between the state laws. My only real argument was the difference between a broker and an agent. They can both do the same things. It's just that if you only have a real estate license and not a broker license you have to be connected to a broker/agency to have an active license whereas a broker can have their license on their own.
