I really enjoy your videos. My husband passed at the age of 38 very recently & he loved your videos so much. He used to watch em every night before bed. He found them relaxing & really interesting & sometimes he'd show me the impressive things you'd be up to.🥰 Now, I find them relaxing for those reasons & because it reminds me of him & those memories. I know this might be too deep for a UA-cam comment. But, I had to share. Thanks for the memories & entertainment! ☮️💜
I watch with my husband, too, and I cannot imagine your loss. I’m so sorry.
@@theglamgram Thank you, thats really kind of you. It has definitely been the hardest time of my life & don't wish it on anyone. Its the little comforts & ways of remembering him that helps a lot.
So sorry for your loss 😢
@@lizvickers7156 Thank you, I appreciate it. ✌🏻
Sorry 😞 for your loss…
Love the hiss!! ❤️ My parents bought a new Shasta trailer in 1955 that had propane gas lights. It was a ritual for my father to clean the globes, replace the mantles, turn on the gas and light. Warmth bathed the inside of the trailer washing the maple veneered walls with a golden glow. It was pure magic and one of my fondest memories about camping!
I remember those Shasta trailers!!! Nice trailers at that time!!!
Bridge
Hey MrsMoon. You are right. The hiss is something special. Thanks for sharing your childhood memories in the comments. And thanks for supporting the channel. Jay
Love your description Mrs Moon 😊 so cosy and atmospheric 😊
@@TheGhostlyone182 ❤
Memories like that are the best. The eternal best
I started watching these types of video because of my insomnia and it helps me to relax and drift off to sleep. I would love to go cold camping but the way my bones are set up it may never happen. So I live through these videos.
When summer camping I love the hiss of the white gas or the propane lantern. When I’m in my snowtrekker tent with my little wood stove I do like the led string lights they can really light up the tent and I can vary the brightness. Thank for the video.
I felt like a young child again, excited to wake up early to watch cartoons!!! Yayyy!!! Jay is back at his winter tent!!!
You know winter is officially here when Jay is back at the tent.Nice to see you back here look forward to the winter videos. 🙂🇨🇦👍👍👍👍
Yea glad its back he gets his biggest views/$$ from the winter videos!
Hey Pat! You've got the most popular comment right now. That's awesome. I am really pumped about making more winter videos. Can't wait to get back out there. Have a good week, Pat. Jay
Winter is officially here in Northern Canada. Welcome to your happy place. Jay you forgot to mention your great cooking skills in the closing. Now we can sit back and enjoy the Great White North, as only you can capture the true beauty of this Great Land.
I love the old school wick lanterns they remind me of deceased grandpa ❤ ❤❤❤
Great to see you back Jay I've loved the tent series. Looking forward to seeing you in horrendous temperatures again! I'll be staying tuned 100%.
Right on HayzeeHayes. Thanks for supporting the channel and commenting. I think this is the most excited I've been about freezing in those horrendous temps!
We just converted our shed into a little cabin, and are looking forward to trying to live in there for a weekend when it gets really cold. If we wimp out we can go right back in the house, and plan better for next time.
So exciting seeing you back in the tent Jay !! I cant believe we are already in snow season again. Looking forward to a nice winter of Legere vids 😀 👍
Hey Famasmaster. Yep, just like that, the snow is back. It always takes forever to come back and at the same time it takes no time at all.
Jay I love watching your videos so calming and entertaining and enjoyable! Your so kind hearted! I love watching you cook and seeing you enjoy it! A man of many talents!! Until next video I’ll be watching! USA INDIANA!
I do believe that the tent is your first love Jay. The snow and ice are just what you needed. I really enjoy your videos and seeing your new gadgets. I'm really impressed that the lantern still worked after all that time. I'm looking forward to your ice fishing video. It's going to be a great winter for you and your viewers. Thanks!
Hey Sandra. You are right. This place will likely mean more to me than any other cabin or tent going forward. It was an idea that I made happen and it's given me so much peace. And a heck of a lot of memories too. Ice fishing will be awesome. Thanks for commenting. Jay
Holy smokes Jay. It’s already a winter wonderland out there. I noticed you got yourself a new sled. Awesome. Great to see the tent again, and I’m looking forward to the new round of videos. Thank you
Really enjoy the winter camping video brings back lots of memories.. keep up excellent job !
Thanks Brian. More to come.
I don't know what it is, but the hiss of a Coleman lantern is soothing to my soul.
This tent video`s are the best 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠
Dude! The tent is looking great!!! I'm excited for ice fishing videos! Let's go Jay!!
Hurray for Winter...and camping!!
I was a geriatric social worker for many years. I’d travel around the rural areas of Nevada to see clients. We had an lady well into 80s that live in a wall tent! She was a tough cookie!
-45° ice fishing in a hot tent, while watching Alone on a big screen using your Jackery! Can’t wait for that episode my friend! People like me in Texas have no clue about the cold you respect/love so much & I really enjoy your videos! ❤
You're lucky you have snow already here in northern lower michagain. It is deer season and it's been in the 30s and 40s with no sno. Makes hunting really hard when it's blue skies. Glad to see you back.
Yess!!! Back at the tent. A cup of coffee and enjoy…
Yep. Exactly
Finally, THE tent! 🌠
I'm glad to hear your endorsement of Northwoods Fabrication stoves. I am happy with mine too. One thing I noticed was the weight listed for his stoves is much higher than anything similar that I saw. When I got it I was happy to see that it wasn't another lightweight sheet metal tent stove. The quality and workmanship are outstanding ! My wife had wanted a propane stove for her yurt, with a window in the door so she could see the flame. It wasn't listed on the website at the time but when I called to ask Dave about it said sure, he would make one. It arrived at the door within two weeks of my order. Thanks for the video Jay !
Re: tent lights, each has it's place and I like them all. Battery and propane are convenient, liquid fuel lanterns produce the most light and I like the sound. I also like kerosene lamps, especially the ones with a tubular center draft wick from Gaudard-Kosmos and Garret Wade. Aladdin lamps are very good too. They have a mantle and are very bright but require a lot of adjusting and have gotten quite expensive.
I like the canvas tent but much prefer a more solid structure like a cabin. Love the channel.
I prefer the gas lanterns myself , very much love the glow of the wood burning stove , looking to get one to heat up my house . It gets no whereas cold as where your from . But it’s the nostalgia of it all . That’s all my grandfather used in his house when I was a kid growing up . There is nothing like it in the world . Takes me back to spending time with him is all I wanted to do .
Hi Jay. Great video as always. I have been following your channel for a few years now and I have to say it has been fun to watch your channel grow. Your cinematography has also become next level. I find your videos truly relaxing and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for taking us along with your adventures!
Awesome, thank you! I love seeing comments like this. And I am really appreciative when people notice the hard work. Until the next one, Arndawg. Jay
Love the camping videos you do absolutely beautiful country. Waiting for the next one 👍👍. Jeff Wilson from North Carolina.
I love Alone...it becomes more than camping...pretty hardcore applicants...but they all have breaking points...love your vids
Been looking forward to new videos Jay, I definitely support this channel for this kind of content. Your classic song always comes to mind when I see a new post and puts me at peace brother, cheers.🍻
Hey Mike, Thanks for being a supporter and for commenting. I appreciate it for sure. I think I will be breaking out the old song from time to time this winter!
This tent is still going strong years later, amazing!
Glad to see you again looking forward to your videos
Thanks Andy
Jay made the perfect meal. Salmon & instant black coffee. Simple, but delicious & satisfying.
I live in Arizona, and right now, November 19th it is 15° Celsius!!! LOL!!! I can't possibly imagine the conditions you are in!!! LOL!!! That is why I love watching your videos!!! A reality check of what can be done.
Jay isn't happy unless it's cold. Thanks Jay!
Another great video Jay, thanks! I've watched most, if not all, of the videos two or three times over and enjoy them each time as much as the last. The cold winter vids are my favorite to watch so I, like many others, am excited to see you back at the tent for winter. I'm not sure how you make them feel so simple and authentic, yet so professional at the same time? Whatever it is and how you do it, please keep at it.
Thanks for this thoughtful comment, Keith. I hope you have a great week. Jay
Love your videos. They are so calming. We are from the UK, would love to stay in your tent for a week haha
Yeah! I’m glad to see the tent, the snow and you!
My granddad on my mother side would have biscuits for every meal. He would mix molasses and butter together and then scoop it up and put it on his biscuit. He lived in central Virginia. I remember him eating those back in the 50s 60s and 70s. My mother would take biscuit dough and make a round doughnut out of it With the hole in the middle. She would crack an egg and put that in the middle and fry it. I really enjoyed that. Maybe you all to try it sometime.
Jay, easy way to clean the glass on your woodstove door. When it is cold take a wet piece of paper towel and dip it in your cold ashes in your stove and rub it on the glass. It will remove the grim off the glass.
Congrats on the skidoo. You won't have to plug in the block heater to start it in the cold mornings.
Cheers
Steph
Hi Jay, I have been watching you for a few years now! Love the white tent, the food, the music and the northern lights. Rejuvenates me after a crazy day at work. Your passion is obvious. Please keep the awesome videos coming!
Hey David. It's great to hear that you've been watching for a few years. It means a lot to know that you have stuck around so long. Thanks for supporting the channel. Jay
What a grand surprise! I’d thought that with the arrival of your cabin these winter tent adventures were over, so finding this today was so nice. I share your love of cold; Enduring as a result of your efforts are so rewarding. When you setup your doorway dining table I knew exactly what you’re after..that feeling just can’t be beat. Bring on the cold baby!
Hey Steve. This tent is a major part of my life. It means too much to me to give up on it. The cabin will be a nice long term project, but this place will always take centre stage. Yes, bring on the cold. The colder the better.
Great video this week Mr. Jay😀
As much as I adore the snow, I feel freezing watching you there. I love your content 😊 welcome back.x
Oh tent how I've missed you! You are my first love on this channel! Looking forward to helping this channel grow Jay!
Jay I've been following you for a long time and after seeing the world at war you are a breath of fresh air peace and friendly face I don't usually post it's my way of helping after you get so many comments stay safe and happy❤❤
First time seeing Jay and 100% looking forward to more videos all winter
Thanks, for supporting the channel, Stan! Jay
I've never had biscuits and molasses. Something new to try. Thanks Jay!
Delicious
Living in peace! I couldn't agree more!
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and enjoy your tent
AHHHH... "THE JAY" back in his natural habitat lol. Your new cabin is nice and all... but there is nothing like getting your notification, grabbing a hot cup of java, and taking a break in the barn to sit back, relax, and watching you at the canvas tent in the snow.... Glad you're back there for this one.
It's the season to be jolly, it's Jay season 🎉 hope it's a good one and looking forward to some great entertainment!
Also like the new snow machine!
Nice to see back in the snow!🙏👍🇸🇪👏
You just cannot beat a nice 55 gallon drum stove ... !
Oh Jay, so happy to see you back in your tarp tent with woodstove after all you have gone through after this years fires. Back home and sharing with us. We do appreciate you and happy things are so much better for you .
I think you hit the nail on the head, the gas lanterns are classic camping and awesome, but sometimes you don’t need everything that comes with it you just need a light, battery powered lights are awesome for a lot of scenarios! But nothin beats a good ol lantern!
that video bring me another memory when i was in norway in 85 with canadian army, you can toast bred over that coleman lantern ...
Wow what a nice setup you have. It’s beautiful and thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
I swear Jay in his cabin is ASMR for me.
Great video this week Mr. Jay! I'm looking forward to this winter season with you and your adventures. I use a propane lantern and it works great, but I have an old Coleman fuel lantern I keep for nostalgia's sake, many good memories of camping with my dad using that thing! Keep up the good work sir! Have a great week. 😎🍻
Hey SC_308. I have to say, the smell of the gas lantern is very strong compared to the propane lantern. It's a good thing the tent is so ventilated. TBH, I think the gas lantern is best for outside and the battery powered lanterns are best for indoors. Thanks for commenting. I hope you have a great week too.
I know what you mean when it's a winter storm it makes you feel alive😊💕
Great to share in your winter adventures again Jay but the thought of -50 c is nothing short of terrifying. Looked like mouse damage but with no droppings it wasn't a mouse. Had to laugh when you ssid it was warm there at only -5 c, in the UK we would come to a stand still. Jay have no fears your fantastic channel and videos lift us all to. Thank you Jay and take care my friend.
Russet for life! Blanche the russets after rinsing thrice, put in the fridge or in your case outside to stabilize and dehydrate, water gets a bad crunch when frying. The next day, fry them up and have the best fries evah.
Awesome video! Wow! Such an awesome spot. Felt so relaxing to watch too. Thank you!!
Thanks so much Sean.
Love this and glad i found your channel. I live in the southeast USA now and I miss snow so much. Living vicariously through your videos! haha
Lovely to see you back at the Tent
Love when jay is at the tent
Yes ice fishing ! You are blessed with ice ! Get them fish !!! Shoot for a trophy northern pike 40" +
TIGHT LINES !
I like any lighting. This set up you have is awesome. Simple, it is large enough that you can be comfortable, and not crowded. Amazing.
Beautiful snow ❄ looks magnificent ❤
Don't you just love the sounds of the crackling from a fire 🔥
Jay and his FAMOUS HOT CHIPS..you need bread and butter with those FRIES 🍟
The classic tent is always good to see
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!🌲🎵😊
HEY! Good morning Jay and thumbs UP!! I hope that all is good for everybody !
I'm excited too - the tents, the big tent, and now the cabin as well! That paper shredding sure looks like mice, but no droppings...they're Canadian mice, so maybe they're just too polite...
Excited for another winter of your videos! Cabin looks just the way you left it, very cool!!
I always had the Coleman lanterns in the early years. They were great. Would still use them if I had them. Bought a couple of cheap LED lanterns. Nice and bright with new AA batteries, but lose a lot of power, and light quickly. So then bought a Goal Zero lantern. It's rechargeable, 600L. I can also use my small 10W portable solar panel to charge it. And in a pinch if needed. It has a hand crank on top. Really impressed with it. So I bought another one. Looking forward to watching another winter season Jay. Have fun.
Love your name! Favorite movie of all time. Thanks for the comment. A crank light sounds fun tbh. Take care. Jay
Thanks Jay, I love your videos and never miss a one…….
Thanks Richard
I love my Woodsman XL stove in my cabin!
Really enjoy jays content, and the fact that the production quality gets better with each video is awsome, keep it up dude!
Awesome comment. There's a lot going on when making these videos, I am happy you see quality in them. Take care, rutigerescobar. Jay
For me Jay, I love the sound and smell of the white fuel or Naptha lanterns. Reminds me of being a kid
Jay, Great opening shots with the drone. Bannock and molassas, the breakfast of champions! I cannot say enough about the videography Jay. Beautiful shots of the tent and the surroundings. Can't wait for the next video. I have a dual mantle propane lantern that lights up the area like it's the middle of the afternoon. I like some of my newer camp lights that are battery operated using the LED bulbs. These are very efficient and have variable switches for adjusting the brightness. Best Regards
You're living my dream dude. As far as the lights- gotta go old school with the lanterns. Just can't beat the smell and sound of those old pump up ones. First video of yours i've watched, hope to see more.
My first time here and watching, I truly enjoyed it. Plus you mentioned one of my favorite tv shows Alone. I cannot do any of these anymore, disabled and old, but love watching. Thank you! From Georgetown Kentucky
I sort of wondered if you had gotten rid of the tent after purchasing that cottage. I love that tent and its site is picturesque as well. Glad to see it is still around. Really loved your video. Keep on making them and I will keep on watching them.
Hey Bert, this tent isn't going anywhere. It's a very special place. Looking forward to cabin life, but it will never replace the tent. And yes, it certainly is picturesque. Thanks for commenting. Jay
Great video
Great videos enjoy them all keep them coming 👍
I can tell you, I am 100% for this season. Congrats on the new stove. I envy you, getting away from it all. Keep up the good work.
Good to see you back at the tent.
Looking forward for the next one.
Glad to see more videos!!
Happy to see you again, a sign that winter is here! Kisses from France
Hi from NWT, Canada. Jay
Loads of gratitude to be able to experience the view you see. Tx for shooting the video of what you do.. Blessings brother.
Thanks Jassijo. I love making these vids and I love getting comments like this. Take care. Jay
Great to see the tent just as you left it - amazing it is in such a good condition. Here in the Scotland the damp milder climate means canvas tends to gets mouldy if you leave them setup that long. I know what you mean about stoves. Have 7 permanently setup in various places, and more planned. Hesitate to give advice to a Canadian about splitting logs, but that axe is not big/heavy enough for those logs. The fries and burger looked great. The bannocks too. All the best from the old country.
I really like the gas lanterns, the sound and smell bring back old memories.
Jay always enjoy your videos and know winter is here.
JL delivers another masterpiece!
Thanks!
Awesome to see you at the tent Jay. Looking forward to your season
So glad to be back at home!!!! You throw those stoves around like they're 20 lbs.!! LOL 😆😆😆 I was just remembering when there was a couple hundred subscribers!! Man oh man!!!! How it's grown!! Batteries or Coleman lantern... Batteries are easier for sure!! Used to use the Coleman lantern in the fish house for light and warmth way back when I was a kid in northern Minnesota.. Great video, Jay!! Really looking forward to the winter episodes!!!

Good to see you back on line with new videos. I'm so jealous with your winter conditions and being able to use the snowmobile. Nothing frozen up here or any snow. I can't wait to have conditions like you have there. Thanks.
Love to see you in your element. Thanks for all your efforts so we can enjoy them vicariously.
