EXTREME FROZEN COZY TENT. A NIGHT IN DEEP SNOW
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- I am going deep into the wilderness and setting up a bear tent in deep snow. My location is perfect and sits high on a rock and is protected by trees, so it's nicely hidden. The platform I am setting this tent up on is one I use from time to time in winter. The tent is very easy to set up and that means more time camping and less time fiddling with poles and nylon.
This 5 man tent will be a base camp for me this winter as I test out its durability and strength. I want to see if it will stand up to the brutal NWT winter.

Who couldn’t make it to the end???? You’re awesome to watch. You take us on a journey most of us only dream about. Plus, you are just you. Real and humble. Thank you!
This was so therapeutic and I watched every bit of it. Thank you for sharing and I pray you are continually blessed and protected through your journey
Always make it to the end cuz I find camping or should I say glamping in Winter the most fascinating adventure to have, I don't like bugs and most importantly I don't like spiders so winter is perfect and I love warming up rather than cooling down in a nice clean space
Cabbage cooks down so much that you pretty much always have to use more of it than you expect 😁
The lone solitude of a cold still night with a good wood fire- just the thought gives my soul peace, the glitter on the snow from the moonlight is just as soothing 😊. The bonus- is when it's cold enough that the trees snap , great video
Of course I watched to the end. Snuggled safe and warm under my comforter with my flannel sheets, lol! There is something so cozy about watching you master the elements and the extreme temps. I've been a sub for a while. You allow me to share an experience I would never have the courage to attempt on my own. You make it seem like the most natural thing in the world. Frigid temperatures, surrounded by snow? No problem! Your content is amazing. Thanks for bringing us along.
I watch with my space heater. I admire his ability, I would be frozen stiff 🥶
@@mariemarie3614 Me too!
Excellent job again. In the southeastern US we don’t get to see snow and winter camping like that. Thank you for taking us on these journeys with you. It means a lot.
Thank you for using flooring, very cozy!
I am so glad to see someone that actually has a floor in there tent while winter camping.
IMPORTANT TIP! In that headlamp, there are 3 AAA batteries. When your light gets dim and weak.....only ONE battery in that little bank is dying. The other two are great! I learned this with a compact AA & AAA battery tester. It’s the way most portable equipment is wired. NEVER ditch all 3 as bad as they ARE NOT! I find the dead battery and replace it with one good one! Been doing this for years!
I never ditch my battery's I recharge them
I'm really glad I've got battery testers.........NOW......🤔
The floors are the key factor for me. Love them.
I loved this video. Watched all the way to the end. Enjoy a small break and come back all rested.
Well this was my first video of yours and I am now a new subscriber. I absolutely love going camping I never thought about winter camping but I am now thinking of winter camping. Man did it look so peaceful and beautiful thanks for a very relaxing video.
Welcome to the channel, Samantha! Thanks for subbing. Jay
I am 71 and like camping and watched to the end.
I have a little cabin in northern Maine that my dad and I built together. I can tell you, you really appreciate how easy you have it when you get home after a trip. But you always look forward to the next one immediately afterwards.
Made it to the end, I usually don't last 37 minutes, but today I did. Thanks
Yes! Thanks so much Nathan. Jay
At the start I thought "Oh no. He's a talker." But I thoroughly enjoyed your narration. When you got to the end and said you were Canadian, I thought "Aha. That explains why you're not annoying." Sorry Americans, but it's true. I actually felt at times that you were talking to me. You have a gift. I'm looking forward to checking out your other videos. Being Australian, snow camping is fascinating to me. Not sure how I'd cope. I'd need to go with an experienced snow person first I think. And I'd want a floor. But it looks so cozy and inviting. I've done the same thing with the ropes btw. Great minds think alike and all that. 😁😁
I always watch to the end. I learn alot from your videos. I love camping in the winter time because you dont have to worry about your ice melting in the cooler like the summer time.
Made it to the end no problem, enjoy watching challenge yourself in the extreme temps. The content of staying alive at -40 comfortable, even getting in and out of the woods can be a challenge. Been there and done that! It's a lot of prep work executing tasks for one night or setting up for long term camping up north. I think you did an excellent job setting up on new site. I just finished 5 nights in my hot canvas tent, unbelievable warm weather for January month as you say. Excellent weather for gathering wood though. Thats a workout for this old guy. Thanks again for bringing us along!
I watched to the end and I'm impressed with that insulating pad. I loved hearing the crunch of the cold snow too. Loved all the outside photos as well. Thanks for taking us along on your winter camping trip. ❄
I heard one call the UA-cam production addicting. Thanks for putting out your material.
Made it to the end I really enjoy your video each time I watch you have a beautiful soul God bless and keep you and your family safe 🙏🤗
I’ve been watching from the beginning.
You’re doing great !
I love the cooking you do. A lot like what I do at my hunting cabin in northern Minnesota. Used to bring my dog up there and she ate exactly what I ate. Steak and eggs in the morning. Steak for dinner with a potato, something like that usually. Had to put her down today. It's's been a long day. Keep going to the door every couple hours to let her out and then realize she's not here
I'm sorry for the loss of your dog.
Follow your heart ,,,if camping is on your mind, I say go for it,,you keep filming and I'll keep watching 😊
idea dall'Italia: bring some oil cans and place them attached to the smokestack, they will absorb the residual heat and become radiators when the fire goes out. In fact the oil absorbs quickly but cools slowly. If you find other materials that absorb quickly and release slowly, even better!
Amazing 1st experience watching this video.. watched till end.. thank you for experience
Very cool. Most enjoyable. Great stuff.
I'm Australian, most of my camping is done in 35c or more and keeping cool and staying hydrated are the challenges as well as mosquitos, flooded rivers, crocodiles and drop bears. The idea of camping in extreme cold I find fascinating. Have my sub Jay whilst I dive head first into your back catalogue. I'll watch all of those to the end also 😜
I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago and have been trying to watch all your amazing content. 30c here today middle of summer.
You really know how to keep us entertained. Thankyou.
I'm watching you build a cabin through my Xbox on TV and I'd give anything to be there helping and learning even though I'm getting old now at 60 ha ha I love it !
Thanks for taking us along fantastic tent
Watched it to the end. Hacked the algorithm😉
love all the snow you have looks great
Jay , enjoyed your video to the end. Don’t shoot wolves. They are important to the environment!
Another enjoyable video 😍 thanks for sharing this with me 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It made me laugh each time you mentioned how much you are enjoying this. I've been camping all of 5ish yrs. I've camped about 12 times. This last time, I had planned it for MONTHS. Waited and waited for an available camping spot at the State Park. It lasted all of 12 hrs. because my tent leaked in the rain. I LOVE my Magellan Bastrop 5. Its worked GREAT in the rain. I just did not know tents have a shelf life and this $70 tent lasted 5 years. I am SO disappointed I had to leave. but I chuckled each time you said what a great time you were having. I was jealous LOL
Rockin video Jay. Love the Drone video of the night time.
Warm weather here in Ontario also this year.
Looking forward to more adventures from your tents.
And I always make it to the end of all your videos.
Be safe and have fun
Thanks David!
The woods are incredibly therapeutic to me. Where I can finally breathe, you know? I've never done a winter solo trip, but you've definitely got me thinking about it. Thank you for all the work and detail you put into your videos. Watched to the very end.
I'm not sure why your video popped up in my feed but it did, and I watched until the end. Loved it! I haven't been camping in forever, and this makes me want to get back out there again.
Awesome!
I always watch your videos until the end. Thanks for the escape!
Another great video Jay that tent is amazing watched till the end take care mate 👍

Great video Jay. Interesting way you cover and explain what you are doing. Yes I watched to the end and enjoyed.

I made it to the end! This is awesome
Thanks Joann
19:32 dryer sheet pest control
i do that too! keeps 'em out and they smell nice.
when i leave for the day i like to spray some peppermint around, especially in the summer for ants and crawlies. i hate peppermint but it works great.
half & half peppermint oil + 99 proof rubbing alcohol in a (4 oz) sprayer. don't be afraid to spray a bunch. it'll smell like (ugh) peppermint but you get used to it. wintergreen works too, but not nearly as good same goes for cinnamon oil.
The outdoor boys I have started to watch just recently, which has inspired me to watch other camping content. As has been picked up on by Josh, it is really relaxing to watch these camp vids. Great content Jay. 🥶
Luke at the outdoor boys is definitely an inspiration. Great channel.
How could anyone not watch to the end??!! Another great adventure. Waiting for the next one…
I completely know what jay means in that there's effort involved in packing planning getting wood etc to enjoy a camping trip but i took up solo camping last late summer through the fall and some of the most peaceful moments i had were sitting by my fire just happy.
There's something about the feeling of self reliance and camping gives you that
I love the improved menu !
Very nice outdoor camping video! Cheers from Switzerland!
Hello from Canada
I watched to the end as these vids are so relaxing.
Love ❤️ these vlog and I watched though to the end but I would be wearing 3 pairs of socks lol 😂 thank you 🙏 for sharing your adventure

Hi, Laura, from NWT Canada!
My absolute favorite show on UA-cam Jay I'm a huge fan you're a super relatable guy thanks for the amazing content
Oh, heck yes I watched to the end - who doesn't?!
Great video...this brings back memories. I lived in a wall tent through a New England winter. Best times. Food for thought, I discovered the best headlamp for the money. A company called " wowtack" that is very bright, also has a camp setting, and a moon low setting for others in the camp. The advantage is the rechargeable 18650 lithium batteries. I carry a half dozen for a weekend. Remember, always be smarter than nature.
Your videos always end too soon. I would love to be out there. The quiet, the food, the cold air. Thank you for sharing your special journeys.
I made it to the end enjoyed the camp out.
You have such a cool camping set up!! Great job
Made it to the end. Very entertaining and informative. Thank You
Just found you, and who wouldn't watch til the end. I'm watching all of your past videos. Love all the shots outside. I'd love just once to do this. Just to be away and off grid for just a little bit. Idk if I'd ever want to go back LOL
First time to watch , and subscribed .Not a camper , it’s just interesting to see roughing it with snow all over . We don’t have snow in SE Georgia , but do have snakes and mosquitoes ! Good video .

I made till the end I love ur videos thank you
Always to the end.
Love from India 🇮🇳
Good soot it doesn't look like any trees would fa on ut at night when your sleeping. Or other things from trees an things pnm..
Always last to the end...subscribed and really enjoy your videos. Always reminds me of the best night sleep I ever had, 1970...-25F. Canvas tent, no stove inside but tight. I have used the "auto inflate" pads as well...hint, they blow up really easy because there's not much airspace...Keep up the good work!
The yt algorithms are crazy. One minute I'm watching sermons, the next I'm watching a guy sleeping in a tent in the woods at 40 below. I'm hooked. Question.... How do you pick your sites? Also, I appreciated you showing us a bit of how you set up in this video. And, yes, somehow, completely enthralled, I watch to the end and then wonder where the time went. Edit: Okay, you just answered how you found this site.
와,,, 영화같네요 완전!!
ok bud. made it to the end on a few now. Love the snow camping. When are you gonna hit up a snow cave? pretty awesome stuff. Thank you.
I made it to the end. 2 am in northwest Arkansas.
Awesome video Jay, love the new tent, a bit expensive for most, but still an awesome piece of equipment! Enjoy it! Have a great time out there my friend! ;-)
