- In this video, I show up early, get the hot tent ready for my 70-year-old mother's arrival, and then go pick her up on a snowmobile. She is a grandmother and a master in the kitchen. Before she arrives I eat a delicious breakfast, make a fire, and prepare my kindling for my next visit. When she arrives we talk about the tent and a very special paddle, and then we eat delicious homemade biscuits.

Jay, your cooking earlier in the video had me drooling but there's something about Mom's cooking that can't be duplicated. While she was rolling the dough I had my mother's voice (1933-2000) in my head and she was telling me not to be afraid of getting your hands in it when you cook. Your Mom is a treasure. Well done.

I was raised in "lovely" foster homes and children's home. I knew who both parents were. Never spent anytime with him but did her here and there. It is quite a different way of life. The last 7 years of her life my youngest two sons , my husband and I would make 4 hour trip to her house to take all food, medicine and drinks, also bathroom needs to her. We did this every other weekend. Had a sister that lived two doors down and she wouldn't even check on her. But I did right by her even though she didn't by me.

Wow Jay what a thoughtful considerate son I especially liked the fact that you stated how necessary it is to have everything fired up and ready to go. I’m a woman my family and friends always leave the responsibility of gathering supplies up to me. I want things organized and well stocked to be as comfortable as possible ,to see a guy this together taking care of mom is amazing. Well done!

Hi Mom, my Mom is 90 still going strong, when she was about 70 I took her for a ride on my motorcycle, it was a beautiful day, she hadn’t been on the bike for over 30 years, that was with my Dad, she totally enjoyed it, a memory made and cherished, Happy New Year folks ❤

I'm 61 years old now and my mom has been gone for a few years now and I miss her dearly it's so nice to see you with your mom and making memories it reminds me of Saturday mornings when she would get up early and cook breakfast Bacon and eggs and pancakes and biscuits and gravy and fresh sliced tomatoes and cantaloupe it puts a warm feeling in my heart and I thank you for that hope you have a wonderful time with your mom

Way to go Mom! I’m 66 and don’t feel a day over 40! I’m always shocked when people refer to me as a senior. Thank heavens I want to stay fit forever and love hiking and camping. I’m pretty sure she feels the same. Keep moving and challenging yourself as long as you can. Love to you both!

Your Mom's a real sweetheart, Jay. You and she seem to have a very special relationship. It was so thoughtful of you to prepare the cabin so that it would be comfortable for her; having the wood stove going, smoothing out the snow at the entrance. Her biscuits looked delicious. Very nice video.

Hey Mom, Ms. Kathy! Welcome! Would have loved to have had a biscuit or two...homemade is the best, especially when the person knows what they're doing. You guys had molasses, we here in South Louisiana go for Steen's Pure Cane Syrup and butter on our biscuits, at least I do. Your Mom seems to be a wonderfully sweet lady.

Jay, you may have only spent a couple of hours on this day with your Mom, but you will have the memories for life. Moms are so precious, I lost mine this Fall and I miss her so much. Cherish each and every moment with her, as there is no such thing as insignificant when it comes to Moms. It was great to meet her and I can tell she is very proud of the son she raised.
