I have read this book. It didn’t make me cry but it certainly was the best foreshadowing of Susan and end to Ian and Barbara’s story. Simon Gurrier is the master of Hartnell, along with Steve Lyons. An awesome book.
I find the scene right before, where One is so affectionate to her cause he knows what he's about to do hits harder. It's a nice speech and iconic but I prefer Ian and Barbara's exit
I've never read this book - I'll get around to it eventually, but there's just SO MANY Wilderness Years books - but I can tell you that it has my favourite cover of any Doctor Who thing. It's just this amazing, striking image that tells you exactly when and where the story is set, alongside being unsettling in a way that's difficult to fully articulate. I make fun of Black Sheep's work on the BBC Who books a lot, but they knocked it out if the park with this one.
Reminder: the news arm of the BBC still has a massive problem with institutional transphobia. If you're unaware of this, this short sums it up: ua-cam.com/users/shortsHpwwzjzFXiE?feature=share
Please. I beg you, and everyone else in the DW fandom. Read _Cosmology of the Spiral Politic._ It explains all of this. Kinda. Well. It does it better than anything else in Doctor Who does. And, you know, it comes packed with _Dead Romance,_ which is fantastic.

Editing is just taking a lot longer now that Neo has started deepfaking our voices and interview clips onto VR avatars for a fully immersive Who Cares experience. You can expect the 30-part Blue Beetle easter eggs breakdown to be uploaded to the official TikTok sooner rather than later. Stay tuned!" I don't know what to believe.

I’m very confused… and I’m ok with that
Cool! Tbh I'd do anything for a better spin on Susan's exit coz I don't get why folk find it so touching. It's a very uncomfortable moment imo.

I need to pick this one up. So far I've only read two PDAs and they were both first doctor ones too! Just can't get enough of Hartnell
Looks like I need to cop this book asap. Messy time-travel >>>> fixed time

I started reading Dead Romance... Got distracted sadly. Review sometime soon!
@@thevacuumofcomments2946 It also comes with _Toy Story_ which features The Master's TARDIS.
@@najawin8348 Is this the same Toy Story that the Doctor's Wife received comparisons to?
@@thevacuumofcomments2946 Yep. Inaccurately, imo.
