i'd say Jedi can have flaws at times and need to course correct here and there, but the Sith are just flat out bad period. even when doing things with "good intentions" the darkside will corrupt you and make you a monster eventually
Revan probably che best example of this he literally bombed and betrayed his own jedi crusade and committing mass genocide just so he can have army dark jedi
The dark side is like a drug, not evil by itself as its very nature is to welcome the end of all things. "We celebrate life because of death" but the nature of death is not for humans to trifle with. To us, that rush of power becomes addicting and before you know it, you have become a slave to it. In Star Wars, overuse of the dark side will turn someone evil >99% of the time. It is not impossible to hold your sanity, but it might as well be for how few actually manage to do it.
I hate when people try to claim the jedi have to 'balance the dark side' or some shit like that. In the lore, dark side is selfishness. Everyone is selfish to some extent but this is a flaw we all need to work on. There is no balance to be had, these modern authors claiming the dark side is misunderstood are delusional selfish pieces of sith. They always use the example of the jedi falling to say they were flawed and problematic, in reality the jedi always had good intentions, maybe they did not act on it perfectly but they always had the good of the galaxy in mind. Mistakes were made, sure, we can argue on the details but they never were selfish. We should take example on the jedi, not the sith.
Honestly the way I can best describe the Sith and the dark side are to compare them to the forces of Chaos and the Chaos Gods from Warhammer. They are plain and simply evil to their core. They both corrupt and twist the body, mind, and soul of the user. They are malicious in their intend. And they want to bring nothing but destruction, death and despair to the world.
The difference is that Kreia's teachings are meant to be taken with a grain of salt as she is manipulating Meetra as much as she is actually teaching her.
Jedi don't live in giant mansions, have private jets, aspire to fame or fortune of any kind. That's one of the major flaws Anakin had in the Prequels. He desired recognition when a Jedi is not supposed to desire recognition.

Because they literally have the Right to check, but only with the parent's permission. (If they refuse, they get taken to court - and it all happens, anyway) Reminder: This was the group in charge of the childhood education of Jedi, checking up on young girls... >.> They had to cut all of that out because of the legal battles Disney was having in Florida, _about kids in schools_ - which is why the editing around what happens is so janky. Why not make it about a hot guy?" Honestly, I'm not sure how much I can blame her for this...
That’s part of one plot point for two backstory episodes, which honestly is still dumb. I’m not sure many in the audience would even get that allegory. Literally all they had to do was make it about Jedi favoritism and parents losing their children, but they can’t even get that right either.
The fact that Disney managed to butcher STAR WARS as a franchise to the point of complete apathy from the fans AND consumers alike is something that people used to believed is impossible. Heck, even STAR WARS games cannot attract interest from the potential audience is mind-blowing.
Small addendum… it is easy to see the similarities between the Empire and Nazis, and even the British Empire for obvious reasons. What may be less obvious and what George has said more than once is the Enpire represents America, particularly in 1976 and 1977 post/late Vietnam War. He compared the Rebels to the Vietcong, achieving victory over a much larger, richer force. If you want to argue with me, just look up the interviews.
I only heard some of that regarding the battle of Endor. However, if he’s looking at it like that, George was pretty damn ignorant of the facts. The US lost Vietnam through a lack of will, not a lack of capability. And it definitely wasn’t a case of smaller Vietnamese forces fighting larger US forces. The North Vietnamese forces were often numerically larger in engagements, were supplied by the USSR and China, and lost every major engagement against US forces. If he got a little bit of inspiration, that might make some sense, but the situations are incredibly dissimilar when analyzed, made even worse by the fact that the North Vietnamese acted similarly to the Empire upon victory. Hence why I find George to be a good storyteller, a political ignoramus, and an incompetent historical analyst.
George Lucus has been quite critical of empires in his life. In his own way he tried to wake people up to the evils that all of us commit either intentionally or through our ignorance and apathy. I remember his ideas for the sequel trilogy were inspired off of what we did to the middle east today.
Master Rwoh's cover-up at the end of the series is not only dumb and deceptive but it also rips off the Legends story of Darth Bane and Darth Zannah, the originators of the Rule of Two. They were also involved in a battle that saw to the death of several Jedi and the truth about the rise of the Sith was hidden, allowing the male master and the female apprentice to continue their work in secret. However, in the original Legends, Darth Zannah covered up the truth about the ordeal by sending a message to the Jedi about the last-surviving Sith lord being on the planet she was on, driving her own cousin Darovit insane and hiding in the shadows with Darth Bane. When the Jedi arrived, a deranged Darovit attacked the group with a lightsaber and, after being quickly killed, was assumed to be the Sith lord and the killer of the previous Jedi group, allowing Zannah and Bane to continue operating in the shadows and eventually leading to Palpatine's/Darth Sidious' rise to power. The major difference is that instead of a Jedi master dishonoring the memory of a friend and knowingly withholding evidence of a possible surviving Sith Lord (most likely to save her own ass since the Sith Lord is heavily implied to be her old apprentice), it was the Sith themselves that tricked the Jedi into thinking that they had been wiped out, which is very much in line with the Sith's MO. The Acolyte's conspiracy is unoriginal, harebrained and shows little understanding of the SW universe and its factions.
And just storytelling logic in general. The Sith are supposed to be on this long path to revenge, and you want to suggest that they only don’t get exposed because of a coverup? History shows that those tend to be found out or suspected by later historians, especially on the timescale of centuries. It creates too much of a logic problem and makes the Sith look stupid along with the Jedi instead of being a terrifying threat.
@@John-fk2ky Exactly! Instead of being ruthless and clever, the Sith are just incredibly lucky. Also, if the Jedi were made aware of the Sith's continued existence, then why was the Jedi Council in The Phantom Menace surprised that the Sith were still around a thousand years later? This Show boiled my blood from the jump and there are people who ignorantly defend this show with no shame and will say genuine criticism is "complaining" 🤦🏿🤣
The acolyte was a major waste of everyone's time. It would be of great benefit to our mental health if we just don't acknowledge it as a star wars show or even as a show in general.
Thats what i love about the og battlefront 2 campaign....at first your all in like fuck yeah boys lets end these rebels but then you play it, think about and and rewatch a few perspectives and realize. Yeah this IS a clones perspective from the beginning to his end...there is a reason he doesn't bring up endor...he either dies or like most, would opt it out....again such a great campaign and story...plus his perspectives on operation knightfall is my only canon to that era..that and the force unleashed.
They failed to understand Star Wars entirely, not just promoting the sith as being good but the entire lore in general. Sure the Jedi have become arrogant over time because after the sith were defeated, some of the order become obsessed with the darkside returning which was further developed in the EU, but to portray the Jedi as this careless and completely stupid, this is just tell me you hate something without using the word. Also this show wasn't done with love and care for the lore, it was someone's fantasy dream about the bad guys being cool when in reality they always have been cool but within reason and in character. If Darth Vader was evil without any reason and to show off ,how could he become the most memorable characters that even today people talk, read and want to cosplay as? How they portrayed the sith is just insulting, no darkside slowly consuming the user, radical actions to justify them being evil, it's just "Hello there, My name is sith, I'm badass, fear me". And aside for a few shots that were impressive nothing is ever developed about any character, therefor we as the audience don't have any reason to care about what happens , who dies and who lives. This show is the definition of pure fan fiction, which is an insult to actual fanfiction made by fans who manage to do even more with less, while Disney did the opposite and failed. People who know are also people who care, and people who pretend are also people who never want to take accountability when their project flops which has been Disney's MO in the last 12 years and moving forward.
So many cringe moments in The Acolyte I forgot half of them. Literally every episode had multiple cringe moments/mistakes. Upon rewatching and reviewing, this show was even worse than I originally remember.
Tbh, I’m glad this video exists and I’m going to agree with all of this. This show is basically playing an act by pretending it’s a good thing when they’re actually pulling a Darth Krayt on us by showing many elements that present evil in general. There is no way I’m going to watch this show and I’m considering this 1000% NON-CANON!
You've talking like Revenge of the Sith it's not the greatest Star Wars movie of the franchise Lol The Ewoks' movies, both of them, are really good movies, surely much better than Acolyte in any sense! And Waterworld I've never watched, but no doubt on my side about being better too.
1:30 in and that black Jedi comment is some bullshit - the two most prominent Jedi on the council were Mace Windu, a black man, and yoda, a green man. And mace windu was THAT motherfucka btw, my favorite character even as a kid. Furthermore, that Jord dude or whatever the fuck is a damn goofball from what I seen, just like Finn or Lando from Solo - disney can’t help but make the black characters all corny losers, yet Jord is all for that apparently.
great video. i never watched the acolyte and i never will and i have no idea why anyone would want a 2nd season after having watched mr grizzy's videos on the show. could you make a video about the whole "the empire did nothing wrong" thing? considering that the empire is inspired by the nazis and people say the empire did nothing wrong is concerning. did it start as a joke that became serious or did it start differently?
Hi, correction. Its not that she didnt understand, and often people are mistaken conscient choices with ignorance or misconception choices. Even she has not skills apparently for SF, she with purposes and evil ones made all her choices to oppose GLucas world and work, to appropriate for herself this universe and erase GL from history. So she was perfectly aware of the mythos and values, she just volontary and with conscient malevolence, stomped on all previous elements of previous works. There no bliss of ignorance here.
Most modern leftists dont seem to know what the hell they support atm as that can change at a moment's notice. Dont get me wrong how little they actually understand anything. If Trump tomorrow said he was in for universal health care, they would suddenly hate universal health care.

I feel like in general you seem to dislike any attempt at making the Galactic Civil War anything but black and white? I think the black and white is bad absolutely but any attempt to make the Empire not seem cartoonishly evil is the writers not "understanding the empire". The Rebels could be viewed as terrorists, the line between terrorism and freedom fighting is blurred, and many would view the destruction of the death star an atrocity, that's not people saying the empire is good and the rebels are bad, that's just how conflicts work.
Blowing up a planet filled with billions of people was enough to seal the galactic empire as evil. Doesn't matter if people on the death star had families it doesn't excuse the death of the people in Alderaan.
The Acolyte is the worst show I've ever seen. Almost nothing worked and almost nothing made sense in that show. One of the most notable mistake of the show (and you've talked about it) is how they portrayed the Jedi and the Jedi Order. It was ridiculous.

230 Million Dollars was dumped on this terribly written Star Wars fanfiction. So called this was cancelled.
Thank goodness I didn’t watch it.
Saying its ok to be a sith is like saying its ok to join a slaaneshi cult. (well, maybe not AS much, but still pretty close.)
JJ Plagiarisms I’m curious have you seen the adaptation of the Plagueis novel by Everest Productions? If you have I’m curious to hear your thoughts.
I always hated double standards. But the thing is, with the one you mentioned at the end, normally vice versa is considered a-ok.
I mean, Anakin's son killed a death star so he's sort of on point with what he's saying
Revenge Of The Sith and Ewoks The Battle For Endor and Waterworld are better than the Acolyte.
Facts, brotha.
Waterworld? What a random choice.
@@vetarlittorf1807 It’s a good movie. Kevin Costner is meh tho.
You've talking like Revenge of the Sith it's not the greatest Star Wars movie of the franchise Lol
The Ewoks' movies, both of them, are really good movies, surely much better than Acolyte in any sense!
And Waterworld I've never watched, but no doubt on my side about being better too.
@@darthlucasfuu Revenge Of The Sith is a masterpiece. And I love Battle For Endor and Waterworld🙃🙃☺️☺️
The alcolyte was made for the DEI crowd
Good thing I never watched this show. It always sounded and looked like trash.
Same here. Never watched a single episode.
The whole show is evil. Disney evil.
Oooooh then Mae and Osha, just like Reva, are overly emotional black women…what’s going on Disney why can’t we have strong black characters?
Hey JJ, do you know where I can read the Star Wars Republic Comics? I've been trying to find them but no luck so far.
Analyzing evil Kathleen Kennedy
great video. i never watched the acolyte and i never will and i have no idea why anyone would want a 2nd season after having watched mr grizzy's videos on the show. could you make a video about the whole "the empire did nothing wrong" thing? considering that the empire is inspired by the nazis and people say the empire did nothing wrong is concerning. did it start as a joke that became serious or did it start differently?
I couldn't even bring myself to watch it. The only thing I remember is the memes
You suck!
Well, the Painter's abd his party were far-left, so maybe Leslie is just confused because that's her political position?
Most modern leftists dont seem to know what the hell they support atm as that can change at a moment's notice. Dont get me wrong how little they actually understand anything.
If Trump tomorrow said he was in for universal health care, they would suddenly hate universal health care.
Hitler wasn't far left
“sTaR WaRs sAved My lIfe”
“She’s a powafull leeeedah, she’s a powaful leadah innit bruv, cos Star Wars is like, so patriarchal innit”
“I like that there’s no hood or evil in Star Wars”
“So when Anakin blew up the Death Star”
Above all I’ll never forgive Disney for turning what was once simply a fun franchise into a platform for radical ideological warfare
I don't blame the actor for saying Anakin blew up the death star. He was a new fan of Star Wars. I think he did a fine job acting given the material he was given.
Would I blame the writers for saying Anakin blew up the death star? Yes.
The Empire did nothing wrong
The show Jedi hate was dumb why the hell did the writers make them idiots it didn’t help the so called High republic era lame.

11 HOURS LATE SQUAD WHERE YOU AT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
The Acolyte is the worst show I've ever seen. Almost nothing worked and almost nothing made sense in that show. One of the most notable mistake of the show (and you've talked about it) is how they portrayed the Jedi and the Jedi Order. It was ridiculous.
The disney n azis won
#200🙌
Wait you had too watch this trash show?? So sorry
Just like the show I'm not watching this..
I’m glad I didn’t watch the show, just the reviews.
The Empire did nothing wrong
