Just a heads up. The AF1 Low bushings and the standard AF1 bushings are not the same height. You can absolutely change out the hangers to have an even lighter AF1 Low but keep the bushings seperate. But yes the hangers are the same and it's the baseplate that gives the lower truck. I have sets of 55 Lows, Standards and Hollows and the 55 Low with the combined Hollow hanger sits at 360g which is a nice difference from the heavy standards. Have fun!
Thanks, yea, I bought a set of low hard bushings. And I'm running the hard low cylinder bottom bushing with the stock low cone top bushing. Thanks for the comment. I wish I mentioned it in the vid 🙌 💯
@@SkateGirlAndrea how do you like that combo? I’m 210 pounds and I’ve been running the full Hard bushings myself but lately being out in the cold that combo has felt too stiff for me. Have changed out the bushings now to the standards but haven’t yet had a chance to get out there on them because it’s been raining and I have another setup just for those days with Indie standards.
@RikRiorik works good, I'm like 115 to 120 pounds. So I can still get to the looseness I like and not wheel bite. But I always wax my wheel bite marks, which prevents a sudden hard breaking stop. I think it's relative. People can use the durometer of ace bushings they like, then tighten them to what works best for their weight. I'm not sure, of course, Ace trucks can wheel bite, but it seems to me they have a bottom out to the turning geometry that happens before wheel bite that helps prevent it. But that could be in my head.
I do like normal af1s and i‘m wodendering wheather they have increased the wheelbase for the lows to get a same pop angle because i think the normal ones pop just so good
So you wouldn't put the hollow hangers on the lows? I'm riding Ace lows now and was thinking of getting the hollows to make the low setup a little lighter. Being a relatively new 40+ skater, my legs and body appreciate a lower lighter setup 😂
@@SkateGirlAndrea And you're liking the low hollow setup? I'm on the fence about pulling the trigger on the hollows so that I can put the hollow hangers on the low base plate.
@kapture520 I love it, I like a quick responsive pop, I like the added stability, I like being low on ramp coping. Think of your skateboard as a 3 dimensional rectangle. How long and "thick" do you want your rectangle to be. I like mine thin. And not too long. But the benefit to higher trucks is more pop. But I get the pop I like on the lows. Its the lower center of gravity, the quick pop, the stability that I like from low trucks. Hope that helps. And Ace trucks give you a shorter wheel base, better for shuv its, pop shuvs, turning, transition, reverts, kick turns. Ace is great.👍
No prob. I like them. I feel more stable than a high truck. They still turn great and are good for transition. Hug the coping like a thunder. Quick responsive pop, easier to flip for me, too.
@@SkateGirlAndrea The mids are 50.5mm which are pretty low. Not saying you should use them, just that height seems pretty low to me, even though they call them mids.
@idmhead0 Yea, I just got the Ace lows and was skating Ace before them. They are working great. Going to stick with them. The only indy I might try would be the new stage 4 if they came in a low, like 49mm with at least a Hollow kingpin. But doubt they will make them.
CAUTION!!!!!! BE CAREFUL SWITCHING HANGERS. SOMETIMES IT'S THE HANGER SIZE THAT IS DIFFERENT AND NOT THE BASE PLATE SIZE THAT GIVES A LOW TRUCK,,,,,,,,BEEN A WHILE SINCE I HAVE MESSED WITH ACE TRUCKS.
Best trucks in the business! Glad they are finally getting the hype they deserve

absolutely love the trick selection! creative and visual (=

I did end up doing that. I put the hollow hangers on the low base plates. To make hollow lows. 👍

Ripping! Well done 👍👍
Thank you skate girl I was waiting for a review on these

@@SkateGirlAndrea i hate being so high I been trying to flow something lower like 90’s
Try the indy's....
I'm done experimenting for a bit. I've been at it for about a month. Indys are usually too heavy for my preference and no low trucks.

@Dr Rhomboid Goatcabin True. I should have said if you get the ones with forged baseplates you can go as low as 50.5mm.

Thanks, Yea I got the info and ok from Ace themselves. They are the ones who said you can switch the hangers on AF1 trucks.
I DO KNOW THEY HAVE DIFFERENT BUSHING SIZES
And durometers too 👍
