Wow, I’ve spent so so many hours trying to construct a historically accurate Native American woman in RDO, and I was hoping you’d make this video at some point so I could compare! Great job.
This video has been my highly anticipated as a indigenous person (WMAT & Navajo) I love the quality and accurateness of your videos. I've been running around RDO as an Apache scout. Your guide for customization is much better than what I've seen on r/reddeadfashion, some of their native customization is very cringe. I agree some native accessories should be added but probably not sacred items such as the full headdresses, I like your idea of implementing the honor system to unlock these items. That would actually add some depth to the shallow honor system we have rn. Anyway, I wish ya a Happy New Year and keep up the great content :D
Thanks, buddy! Yeah, the Apache ones are my favorites. R* really gave us most of the appropriate attire to make accurate depictions with them. Thanks again!

Another great video. This is, in my opinion, is the most valuable and important Red Dead Online based channel. Not only do you deliver factual and informative content, unlike most Red Dead channels, you inspire people to find new ways to enjoy the game and inspire people, even people like me who have played since the beginning, to want to play more. There's this awful culture on channels that discuss this game to mostly to whine. Either there's not enough updates or the updates they have are not good enough etc. It's refreshing, as ever, keep it up man. Happy new year!
Thanks, Ghost Rider! I try and keep it positive! Obviously I wish R* would add some things, but this game is fun and beautiful. And we need to remember that it's always expanding with new content, roles, etc. It's unfinished, and that in itself should make us optimistic! It's also a great avenue to deliver some historical knowledge about the era, all stealth-like. I sneak as much history as I can in a 'gaming' video. I can't help it.
Well said, man! I sure appreciate people who appreciate this game, 'imperfections' and all--it is a *perfect* game to *me*, and channels like this highlight the beauty and complexity of it. Thanks, Man vs History!

@@ManvsHistory Hey just an Idea for another video: what part of the rdr2 map would be more usual for which indian tribe :P (sorry for my rusty english) Another good idea for a Video would be a evaluation on the rdr2 story mode Indian's attire on characters like Charles, Eagle Fly, Rains Fall etc
I've been playing as a Comanche tribe with a couple friends for maybe 2 years now. I constantly make different outfits trying to make partial dress and traditional dress as well so this was actually a really cool video to see. There are a few more things that if you had purchased all the Outlaw passes you can use as well to better decorate your native character but they might not be historically accurate. Anyways thanks for the video and have a good day!
For the female Native wear, the most accurate you would be able to get is the Stringham shirt paired with the Kamassa skirt, but Rockstar made these two options incompatible with each other. The best I could do for a traditional look is to use either the flora corseted chemise in the black and gold color or the laborer overshirt in the brown dotted color. Over this I wear the dark or lighter hide-colored outdoorsmen vest, depending on weather I'm making a dark tanned hide outfit or a lighter tanned outfit. Overtop I wear a Fuentes poncho in either the darker or light colors (again depending on the shade of the outfit), with any color of Zapata headband of your choosing to finish up the top half. Not that it matters or the tribal look historically, but I also use the goodman gun belt and holster to fit the look. Moving onto the lower half I vary from historical in some ways just to achieve a more pleasing look, so forgive me if everything I mention isn't 100% accurate. Starting off with the more accurate look I wear the Kamassa skirt in dark or light tanned hide colors paired with the Cibola or Brindille boots in matching or contrasting colors to the other hide colors. Alternatively, I will wear Lawncliff, Plata, Tied, or Lightfoot pants in as close to matching colors as possible for a more scout look to my female character, alternating between the Brindille, Cibola, or Hightop moccasins depending on the look I'm after. When wearing pants I will often add a Farnholme bandolier to represent the medicine pouch worn by Native Americans. Getting into glitched outfit territory, I will sometimes add one of the legendary animal heads to any of these outfits to either act as a "spirit animal" roleplay element, or to mimic the use of animal hide camouflage when Natives would hunt herds at close ranges. I again break from what might be historically accurate again when making winter wear. Opting to add an animal head (glitched) to one of my warmer weather outfits for started I will either wear a poncho, or the Maerbay coat that closest matches the animal head (currently I wear one of the buffalo heads as they match almost perfectly). Choosing pants and gloves that match in color to the coat I then wear the strayhorn boots in as close to matching as well. Any high collar shirts will work to cover your characters chest under the coat, but I often wear the Stringham shirt under my outdoorsmen vest when wearing the pants. Again, I know most of this isn't really historically accurate to the time period, but I am trying as hard as I can to adhere to a more traditionally tribal playstyle as possible with the limitations that Rockstar has in the game. (edit) For anyone wondering why I didn't choose other options, I have only owned the game for less than a year now and am missing all of the Outlaw Pass items along with most of the limited stock options in the game. As Rockstar brings back items, I will update my looks with what I have available to me.
im a dakota sioux native as well so i especially appreciate the effort you put in to make this and it helped me make my character so Shout out to the creator for this vid your a OG

Mostly I be lowkey mad for no reason when a non native person creates a native character just for the heck of it and doesn’t even know anything about my people. But that’s just how I be lmfaoo. But you seem to know enough about us. So, “RESPECT” to you.✨👍🏽
Love the idea of earning cosmetics through achievements. They could do so much fun stuff. Also they could include things that you can only get by picking it up during specific story missions and things like that.
Exactly. Just like in real life, things carry different value when you earn them. Thanks for watching the vid, Shane!
If you want the Wapiti, choose Lakota outfits, if you want Dutch’s Tribe, choose partial Apache clothing. For criminal Dutch’s tribe, add bandolier, hats and military coats.

I loved this, that helps a lot in game, your video about historically acurate cowboys actually made me do a pretty good outfit!!
I'm glad to hear that, man!
As a member of the Northern Cheyenne tribe still living on out reservation I appreciate this video and his information 😂
As a Cree Native, I love your videos, you gave me a couple outfit ideas for my character online. I watched this video how many times already. I love to learn about my indigenous brothers and sisters. Can’t wait for rockstar to add More native clothing and face paint to the game but yeah. I’m proud to be indigenous 🙌🏽✨
Wow, I’ve spent so so many hours trying to construct a historically accurate Native American woman in RDO, and I was hoping you’d make this video at some point so I could compare! Great job.
Glad it was helpful!

Happy to help!
Even though I purchased RDR2 near launch day, I just recently started playing it and one of the side effects of that decision was discovery of your phenomenal channel via UA-cam Recommendations based upon my recent RDR2 video searches.
I will certainly share and suggest this channel to anyone that wants quality, compelling, educational, and even entertaining content. The eloquence is simply icing on the cake.

They come for the gaming and stay for the history! And stay we shall! Good man!
Well said, man! I sure appreciate people who appreciate this game, 'imperfections' and all--it is a *perfect* game to *me*, and channels like this highlight the beauty and complexity of it. Thanks, Man vs History!

@@ManvsHistory Hey just an Idea for another video: what part of the rdr2 map would be more usual for which indian tribe :P (sorry for my rusty english)
Another good idea for a Video would be a evaluation on the rdr2 story mode Indian's attire on characters like Charles, Eagle Fly, Rains Fall etc
Rockstar should be paying you for this. The native skills tree is an amazing idea
How about a historically accurate saloon girl?

Ha! I like this guy. Thanks, Seamy!
