- At the dawn of democracy in 1994, there was much optimism for a harmonised new South Africa. However, some contend that unity seems to be a pipe dream. Fadiel Adams started a political party to address issues that are specific to coloured people in the Western Cape. Next week, the Cape Coloured Congress will be on the ballot for the first time. In KwaZulu-Natal, where the Indian vote has been courted since 1994, the Minority Front says Indian people are constantly disappointed by unkept promises by bigger parties.
Is race politics the way to go? Minority Front leader, Shameen Thakur-Rajbansi and Cape Coloured Congress leader Fadiel Adams unpack the basis of their parties.

These parties are not different from the Freedom Front Plus. Interestingly, these "Coloured" and "Indian" parties were part of the Tricameral Parliament back in 1983

My dear friend race is still relevant because the ANC has kept the race classification act on the books after 30 years.I have witnessed countless cases of discrimination against Coloured people when they apply for jobs in the state even if they are the best qualified..Wake up and smell the coffee

Race politics is rife in South Africa. ANC has a non racial policy which it uses for their advantage. Any race except bantus is been use for ANC agenda. Let the coloured child advance his progress.
