      @@KindofCooking I tried making them and the size is what I need to practice on. They expand when you boil them.

    You should roll the dough into logs then cut it for easier shaping

      Haha thanks for the tip! We tried that, but found it to be more work for some reason. Probably poor technique. Definitely recommend to do what ever is found to be easier and faster. We even tried to push it through a wire frame and cut it and through a ladle with a hole haha.

    I used a different tutorial & everytime my dough comes out very crumbly. Since I didn't want to waste my effort It took me more time to roll these into balls. Also I didn't let the water come a rolling boil. I have made this several times & the results are the same. HELP... Also I like to use cocoa powder (black pearls). How much do I use for your recipe?

    So how long does the tapioca balls last when you don’t cook them? Could I freeze them to make them last longer if I can’t eat them all at one time?

    • @KindofCooking
      @KindofCooking  4 роки тому +1

      Yes you can freeze them, they should last a while. Once you cook them you have to consume them within 3 hours.

    What are the measurements for the ingredients?

    • @KindofCooking
      @KindofCooking  4 роки тому +2

      For this video we used 1 cup tapioca flour, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup brown sugar. You can make however much you want according to the ratio.

    I have tried so many different techniques and measurements I've seen on UA-cam, and on Tik Tok come on on Instagram, and basically everywhere. However, every time I do the recipe, the "dough" always ends up like an oblek. Is there anything I can do to make it work?

      I hear you. Maybe it’s the ingredients you’re using? Have you tried our recipe?

      The first time I did it, it was oblek like and it was because I put too much tapioca flour. Find a different recipe or use precise measurements so that it doesn't happen again.

    I made it once using other tutorials and it was really sticky, then I cooked the dough longer and it wasn’t as sticky but it wasn’t stretchy does this work better?

    • @KindofCooking
      @KindofCooking  4 роки тому +1

      The dough is pretty sticky, and it needs quite a while to cook through. We found pretty good success with it. Took a while to figure out.

    Why do we need to finish eating the pearl within 3 hours?

    • @KindofCooking
      @KindofCooking  4 роки тому +1

      After 3 hours tapioca will start turning hard. So if you don’t think you’ll consume within 3 hours you can freeze the extras (before cooking)

    Why is mine so sticky

    • @KindofCooking
      @KindofCooking  4 роки тому +2

      It seems like some people are experiencing difficulty when using western brown sugar. The brown sugar we were using, the Taiwanese kind, was really dry. Try reducing the water by 10-20ml.

    I’ve made this a few times and I’ve noticed that when I cooked the boba with the brown sugar the boba gets less soft. When I put it in after I cooked the sugar it was still soft. I was wondering if the boba still absorbs the sweetness if you don’t cook it with the sugar but let it just sit in the syrup.

    • @KindofCooking
      @KindofCooking  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah I think that works. You don’t have to cook it. Can also just sprinkle brown sugar on top and call it a day.
