20 something yrs ago Jimmy and Brian were playing this at Hogie Barmichaels. Lost my cd in a car wreck a long fucking time ago. Thank you for giving me something I thought I’d never hear again.
There’s def a huge shift in their sound and structure after he died, writing wise. This puts it into perspective what he was bringing for sure. Crazy this came out the same year as sounding the seventh trumpet too.
Jimmy wrote most of their music in the beginning. He and Brian started this as a side project for shits and giggles but also in case avenge didn’t make it. To this day I wish they had kept it going.
@@crankymac1484 They probably wouldve done something with it if he hadnt died... They couldve done anything from the time of his death to now if he hadnt passed.
If you truly dig this, check out UneXpect, Igorrr, PainKiller, Polkadot Cadaver, Dog Fashion Disco, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, The Locust, Melt Banana, Maximum The Hormone, Sanguine Glacialis, and basically all things metallic influenced by Frank Zappa, John Zorn, Mike Patton, Otomo Yoshihide, etc.
9:56 sound like the pre chorus in bat country! And don’t even get me started on the hoe Mcfly is an early inclination as to what A Little Piece of Heaven would become
Bruh. Been a minute since I picked this up. Still way ahead of it's time. People won't be ready for this for another 10 years sadly. The technicalities, the risks, the creativity, the pure flowing chaos. So good.
Listening to this album is amazing I hope to find this on cd one day so I can have it on repeat for months straight. Good job jimmy and let’s hope syn finds the masters to rerelease this.
This is fkin TREMENDOUS. I love how much Jesus Christ Superstar I hear in it.... finally, updated. Actually wish they'd played a lot of it like this in the original JC Superstar. I'll bet Ian Gillian does also. AH! Maestro Rev.... you left a void. so fked up that we lost such a great writer.
Going through this album again after finally checking out mr bungle is amazing. It is very clear that mr bungle was a big inspiration "Pixel and nasal", and mr bungles "quote unquote" are incredibly similar in terms of intro, and mr bungle's sound can be heard just about everywhere in this album when you think about it. Just go through mr bungles early albums and listen Skip violenza domestica and After School Special... Trust me... Actually, just skip disco volante. Everything else is audible.
@@codypape3746 I noticed something else. If you find and listen to some of the demo tapes, you'll hear a song (track 3?) where they use a line from Mr. Bungles "After School Special": "Why are you touching me?" right before it goes into a solo, so they definitely took some amount of inspiration from Mr. Bungle, there's also guitar parts reminiscent of some parts of "Slowly Growing Deaf"

Fuck man that must be heartbreaking. Been looking for a physical copy for years but it's practically lost media at this point
@@deadonarrival909 Ye, I'd love to get my hands on one too but the latest sales I've seen are on some forums from like 8 years ago lol.
Hope you were okay and the wreck wasn't too bad
@@deadonarrival909 IKR?! im trying to make my own unfortunate snort cd ... wish me good luck... AND good luck trying to find a copy! :)
I love how you can hear hints of A7X in these songs! Just goes to show how influential the Rev’s writing was to A7X’s sound!

He was A7X
My dad used to be a really close friend to the rev. Too bad he died before I could meet him.
Happy Birthday to the GOAT Jimmy🤘🤘🤘👑
Every time i listen to this, it still feels just as magical as the day i first heard it ( early 2012)
2012 ish is when I first heard nasforatu. Fucking love how raw all of it is. Plus I'm an A7X fan, so that helps.
The lack of comments is disturbing and vile
AGREED!!
everyones on the remastered one
It's too good for comments 🤘
Everybody are simples rockers of the mainstream views, i think the vanguardia in this albúm is outrageous
Can't comment. I'm listening
I love this entire album. Sad this is such a rare one to come across.

This is the closest thing I can get to Mr. Bungle, that isn’t Mr. Bungle
There is a lot of A7X to be found in this album. Goes to show how much the Rev matters
8:57 this riff is epic. You can’t not love it
Desecrate through Reverence seems to call back to the bit at 5:25
Thank you. I got reminded of this band from a drumeo video today. I used to blast this shit daily.
5:25 that shit became desecrate through reverence 100%
I can definitely hear some of early A7X in this, great album. Rest in peace Jimmy Sullivan, foREVer 🤘🖤

Its just the rev and johnny.
Happy birthday jimmy
This is some genuine good shit, I’m surprised it doesn’t get more recognition.
This is really really good.
I love the past
Miss you rev
This is such a fun album, and you hear so many elements of a7x.
My fav album wish it was on Apple Music or Spotify
