The Wild Beyond the Witchlight
SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES
A wickedly whimsical adventure for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.
Once every eight years, the fantastic Witchlight Carnival touches down on your world, bringing joy to one settlement after the next. Its owners, Mister Witch and Mister Light, know how to put on a good show. But there’s more to this magical extravaganza than meets the eye!
The carnival is a gateway to a fantastic Feywild domain unlike anything found on the Material Plane. Time has not been kind to this realm, however, and dark days lie ahead unless someone can thwart the dastardly schemes of the Hourglass Coven.
The Wild Beyond the Witchlight takes adventurers from the Witchlight Carnival to Prismeer, a Feywild domain of delight, and is designed for characters of levels 1-8. This book comes with a poster map that shows the carnival on one side and Prismeer on the other.
Explore the Plane of Faerie in the first official D&D adventure set primarily in the Feywild.
The adventure begins on a campaign world of the DM’s choice. The Witchlight Carnival, which serves as the means by which the characters enter the Feywild, can be dropped easily into any campaign setting.
Adds two new character backgrounds: the Feylost (for characters who grew up in the Feywild) and the Witchlight Hand (for characters who work at the Witchlight Carnival).
Introduces two races-play as a fairy or as a harengon, a race of humanoid rabbits.
All encounters in the adventure include a non-combat option, allowing players to think and roleplay their way through the adventure if they wish.
Classic 1980s Dungeons & Dragons characters return, including Warduke, Strongheart, and Kelek.
On the Cover
The Witchlight Carnival has come to town! On the back cover, a displacer beast finds 8-year-old Tyler Jacobson and leads him back to the carnival, where he belongs. - Ігри
1. Don't worry the beard is back. 2. UA-cam is being weird an putting World of Warcraft on this video for now reason. Very sorry.
so much "feywild" in the video being registered would be my guess for wow
I'm hoping Elkhorn is going to be in the book, the blue haired dwarf was my favourite from the D&D action figure line.
You'd think that Hasbro would make a new D&D action figure toy line. I don't know if the rights to the original action figure characters are available, but it'd be nice if they'd include the characters from the '80s.
@@bryanabbott6169 Elkorn is in the Wizkids Premium Minis set for Witchlight , so I'd imagine he's in the Book.
Valor's Call Set: Strongheart
, Elkhorn, Ringlerun, Molliver, Mercion
League of Malevolence: Kelek
, Skylla, Warduke, Zargash, Zarak
@@mathewcoppola8622 Thank you. :)
Must be in expectation of Spelljammer lol
Now we’re getting 80’s cartoon characters?! 🤩Now I really want stats for Venger, the Force of Evil 😤
Yes I owned both the original red and the blue box! Nice to see I am not the only old man in the realms.
There are dozens of us.
Dozens... Or more 👊
Same
Three are hundreds of us. Some of us still prefer it to the modern version of the game.
Still have all the boxed sets
Custard damage and the Dungeons and Dragons roller-coaster? Wonderful.
Todd looks so disappointed that custard damage isn't lethal. xD
Holy hells Xanathar's guide was so long ago, they really plan that far ahead?
That’s how the entertainment industry in general works. Everything you see as an end product was being worked on years ago in advance from release.
They’ve had this on their docket for a while, but it was delayed a bit and took some time to make
Warduke was the Boba Fett of '80's D&D - a guy who looked so insanely cool that he commanded attention. Half-armor makes sense if you imagine a gladiator-inspired combat style, where the shield covers his unarmored side, and he's quicker on his feet without the extra weight and bulk of armor he doesnt need. Plus maybe its hella hot where he operates!
Always go for the helm of dread! Playing a life cleric? Nothing says "I bring the healing light of the Morning Lord" like evil glowing eyes! Put one on your horse too. Nothing ominous about that. It's like lanterns on a boat at night, it's there to prevents traffic accidents! Be safe, wear the -evil looking- safety helmet.
Safety helmet!!
The Oath of the Dinner Lady Paladin with the feared Custard Smite
A Clown Bard would do custard damage for sure.
I remember playing quest for the heartstone. I think I played the warduke because he looked só cool. I also used to have his figure
Custard Ranger's capstone ability: Custard's Last Stand
Speaking of time warping D&D effects: why does Chris Perkins keep looking younger and younger?
He bathes in the tears of his players 😁
He is eternal
Because he's actually Strahd. Duh!
Vampirism
Every time they expand Barovia, he gains another level in lichdom.
On the plus side, he's probably a baelnorn because he just wants to produce more content for the D&D world as a whole community.
Warduke belongs in Greyhawk working for the Heirarchs of Iuz.
Warduke doesn't do the "working for other people" thing very well.
The Horned Society rules! 😎🤩😈💪⚔️✌️
They had this story planned for FOUR YEARS?!
Custard based subclass sounds like a marvelous idea for an april fools release.
Well here I am enjoying my morning coffee , I was on the fence about picking up The Wild Beyond the Witchlight , until watching your interviews with Chris , definitely has changed my mind on picking it up . Thanks , looking forward to many more reviews, thoughts , ideas , etc etc .
I now want a artificer that makes pies and is them in battle
Sounds like a Druid subclass ;)
Not sure if I can handle Todd's new groove.
I wonder if Chris Perkins will bring the Cloud Bears to 5e from the D&D animated series.
The chef-assassin!
Need some updates for divine ranks as soon as DnD enters its 6th edition, for example:
0:A quasideity.
0-5+:A demigod.
5+-10+:A lesser god.
10+-15+:An intermediate god.
15+-20+:A greater god.
20+-25+:An overdeity!
21+-30+:An overoverdeity!
Perkins' "seeding" stuff into books. It is tradition when he speaks such things for me to respond:
STOP TEASING US AND JUST GIVE US SPELLJAMMER DAMN IT!
If Chris ever reads these comments I hope he sees how bad *I want a Spelljammer book to come out soon* lol.. perhaps with a reference to a mad wizard captain with red hair named Zenuule
Engagement for the engagement god!
All the Perkins!
Apparently that Kellick character has a problem with a bodypart that is always droopy - what other use could he have for unicorn horns?
Collar like David Bowie at the Grammies in '72 (I think).
Quest for the Heartstone was the first D&D product I ever bought, out of the bargain bin at KB Toys.
Is there anywhere to stream the D&D cartoon currently? I know there was the 24 hour twitch thing a while back, but I'm hoping to show it to my daughter before we run Wildbeyond the Witchlight.
Tenser, Bigby, Melf, Robilar, etc?
Hooray I'm old! Wait?!
a bard with Snilloc's custard pie
what in the world, todd.
Look at the ad below, someone didn't get the memo
I thought this looked OK, but I was going to skip it, until Warduke showed up. I have about half a dozen stat blocks for him of various levels. He shows up in all my games.
I'm buying several copies for me and my friends.
Thank you for bringing him back.
I was completely letting this book go past. Then they say 80's cartoon roller coaster, War Duke, & the rest of the old figures. Damn it, here's my money. Cheers to Marketing brains.
Obsession for uniqhorn-horns?
A wizard?
☝️
Oh! 🙊
😁👏😆
Hi todd is D&D youtubing your full time job?
I don't know why he doesn't play other tabletop rpgs and make videos of them.
no no, Custard Damage Monk, throw pies to hurt enemies
This book is make or break for me solely down to the monsters in it if it’s not got a good number of new fey creatures I’m going to be disappointed
Okay hear me out; Custard Ranger, Pie tipped arrows.
Rolling a nat 1 on your custard attack...
ua-cam.com/video/8fCFdhTQJsM/v-deo.html
I was 100% gonna pass on this until Warduke
Why put those old characters in such a silly concept for an adventure?
Ugh... ugly digital graphics. I wish people would use pencil, ink and paint again.
