Me: Finally I can see Matt as a player in a combat O_O.
Matt: I cast invisibility on myself and carefully back away. :'D
The man makes smart decisions XD
That's the problem with running the game so much. You know exactly how screwed you are when certain bad guys show up.
Having run the game for so long, you learn from great players all the great tactics against all the most dangerous monsters.
@@temotoes9182 Except purple worms have blindsense and tremorsense...
@@camclemons Clearly his character's bag contains the MM
"You got a potion of poison"
"Awesome, how is that work?"
"Somebody drinks it and they take damage"
"Oh so it's just poison."
"everyone roll all the dice they have on the table"
Where's Laura bailey when you need her?
Holy cow i thought the exact same thing. 2 hours later....214,561 damage
Noone touches Laura's dice....
Matt Mercer with the Russian accent right before Patrick Rothfuss...priceless.
I have never played or watched anyone play D&D and I did not want this to end. Why in hell have I never played this? I'm not even sure how i ended up here but i'm so glad I did. is this the greatest story ever told? I think so. I really want to give this a shot now. Thanks for that!
Search acquisitions incorporated & critical role
Even better, look up dimension 20. So so well done.
Better yet... look for a local group to join.
Welcome my dude! Lol
If you never got into it, now more than ever people are getting on things like roll20 and making games. Just be aware that with all the folks filtering in right now, you might get a lousy game or two before you find a group you gel with.
When Pat reacts to the words 'completed book series' I knew this campaign would be great
and his reaction is at what time?
@@petrlnovak Honestly, can't remember. It's during player intros, I'd check for the exact time, but I am incredibly lazy.
@@petrlnovak 2 minutes in. With the first guy giving his introduction.. he says a completed five book series and you hear in the background "ooooooohhhhhh"
He is never going to finish it. Roleplaying for an audience of fanboys is much easier and enjoyable for him. He has no incentive to put the work into finishing his series. He also knows he has inflated expectations to live up to the longer and longer he takes.
To each their own, but I don't understand why people want to watch others roleplay. Nothing about it attracts me.
@@xragg Then why are you even here giving out grief?
I guess Matthew Mercer now understands how much fun it is to 'break the DM'
Oh I'm sure he understands, he plays weekly with Sam Riegel.
Like everyone else, I came for Chris Perkins, Matt Mercer, and Pat Rothfuss. But none brought me as much joy as Amy Vorphal.
I came to see Chris Perkins, and Patrick Rothfuss
Never heard of her, but yeah she was great value!
You should watch Dimension 20 Escape the Bloodkeep, both Amy Vorphal and Matt Mercer are players with Brennan Lee Mulligan as a DM (he is amazing BTW) and it's basically royalty free Lord of the rings from the side of evil
She very much annoyed me with that voice the entire time
I was skeptical when I read this comment, but then the game started and I immediately realized her character was the best.
Whoever named and classed Patrick deserves a medal
It warms my heart that Matt did the russian accent since it was paid for and the other guy couldn't do it. Matt really went above and beyond.
I see a game with Chris Perkins, Matt Mercer, and Patrick rothfuss I’ll sit and watch completely captivated for 3+ hours
Almost as good as a book that makes patrick rothfuss relevant again
jaknife99 don’t be “that guy”....it’ll get done when it’s done
And Amy Vorpahl stole the show. =)
@@mikewetzel4778 She often does!
@@jaknife99 Patrick Rothfuss is cracking the best jokes on the table! He's relevant to me purely as an entertaining player (mostly from his time on CR).

"Does a Crit hit your armor class?" - Hahaha! I'm using that in my next game.
I mostly play Pathfinder with my group, where you have to confirm crits against the AC, so when I'm the GM I usually go, "So, does a confirm?". First time I did that there was a slight stunned silence around the room :D
Unless there’s a grave cleric around!
Well, a crit could certainly miss though.
Imagine you have a 0 modifier and are not proficient with the used weapon, all you got is a 20, even if it's natural.
So, if your enemy would have an AC of 21, your critical hit would still miss.
Now, is this very likely? Probably not.
But now image you even have a negative modifier, let's say -2, your enemy would avoid your crit hit with an AC of 19.
@@MikaeruDaiTenshi 5e RAW crits always hit. Similarly, a natural 1 always misses. A zombie has 8 AC but if you roll a 1 you can still miss it even with +8 to hit.

Sees Matt WITH A CHARACTER SHEET on the thumbnail
Most effective clickbait I’ve ever seen
Lolz
Perkins, Rothfuss, AND Mercer, all together in a game together?!?!?! OMG YES!!
Seeing Matt have to hold his tongue while the DM looks up stuff that Matt knows off by heart... What a lad.
I think all DMs turned players have to do that to some extent, since each DM knows a chunk of rules but almost no DM knows all of them by heart.
I like how you can frequently see mstt holding back the urge to go ,"well actually...."
I’m pretty sure Chris Perkins, who literally wrote the rule book, knows quite a bit about the game hahah

@@menghao737 I think you're thinking of The C-Team. He played a shady female tabaxi.
@@jimmi5121
There are a couple of instances of them being together.
One of the early episodes of Dice, Camera, Action opened with a very, very short bit where Matt was DMing for the Waffle Crew very briefly. He spawned a torrasque on them and I believe they rolled initiative and then Chris came in and ran him off and resumed control of his game. It shouldn't be hard to find, it happened in the opening like 1 minute of one of the games, had to be between episodes 1 and 10 I think? It was super early IIRC.
Chris also guested on Critical Role once in Campaign 1. If i'm not mistaken, I believe he accompanied the party as they chased Umbersil back to his lair, so during the Chroma Conclave arc. I believe Umbrasil went down pretty early in the arc so, shouldn't be too hard to find.
